History: Brand's history is Brand's history. He was born to two parents who loved one another, not for political gain, or for some manipulative reason, but for love. This drew the ire of the natural status quo that most Saiyans lived by, as they usually married into power to obtain strong children to raise their bloodlines to greatness, and even more so it drew more ire as Brand wasn't even born a full blooded Saiyan, but a mixed blood. His mother, a pure blooded Saiyan of low ranking military importance, had fallen in love with a business man who had woo'd her with his breath taking words, and loving affection. The two were quickly wed, after a great deal of yelling and screaming from his mother's side of the family, and even quicker were on their way to bringing their own bundle of joy into the world, Alister Brand. Alister had a happy childhood, homeschooled by his father, and trained by his mother in the ways of the Saiyan military, after all if Brand was to protect himself he needed to be properly trained. For most of his young life, Alister was shielded away from the rest of the more rough, and brutal saiyan youth who shared an extreme view of Alister's lineage placed upon them by their parents at a young age. By the age of ten, Alister was enlisted in military school, as was tradition from his mother's side of the family, and to break tradition further as his mother had said would only make things worse for Brand. Brand excelled in school, surprisingly, even though he was rebellious, constantly acting out, and more than willing to question orders given during assigned drills and assignments. Still, Alister was a gifted fighter, and was like a sponge, absorbing as much information as his young mind could in the ways of fighting, and how to improve himself by leaps and bounds. However, Brand couldn't shake the "low class" monicer, and was usually assigned grunt tasks regardless of his skills in fighting. Eventually at the age of sixteen, Alister became an enlisted soldier in the Saiyan Army, and was even welcomed with open arms by his grandparents who had viewed him as a mistake since his birth, but viewed him now as a full fledged member of Saiyan society at that point. Alister after becoming enlisted had been deeply happy to finally be accepted, but quickly learned that though he had been an enlisted, lofty expectations had been placed on him. His original outbursts of personality, his naturally inquisitive demeanor, and his rebellious nature quickly bestowed upon him the ire of his superiors. With his position in the army, Alister found himself bound to a rough hierarchy of underskilled, but powerful warriors who commanded the more skilled "low class" soldiers to do what they asked them to do. The army believed strongly in "might is right" and though Alister didn't agree with that sentiment he was forced to go along with it due to his position and him not wanting to shame his mother and father. So, he bit his tongue, and worked hard for the army for a good eight years before the war. The Tuffles and Saiyans waged a war of attrition, bringing in their own allies, and forming a massive conflict that engulfed whole galaxies. Alister found himself a part of these conflicts, being forced by the higher ups to hunt down Tuffles who were on planet Vegeta. At first, Brand believed he was fighting enemies to the crown, or potential terrorists waiting in the wings to massacre innocent lives on his home planet, but quickly Brand learned how wrong he was. On a routine mission to extract some Tuffle assailants from a shanty town, Brand came upon a cluster of Tuffle children, all huddled up for warmth, and looking malnourished. Brand, believing that these children needed help, asked for backup at the particular warehouse that he was located at, stating that rations should be brought. Upon his "backups" arrival, he witnessed the mass execution of harmless children right before his eyes, and in a fit of rage punched his superior officer in the face, not only cleaning his clock, but knocking a few of his teeth from his mouth. He was locked up, dishonorably discharged, and told that he would probably be executed for being a "Tuffle Lover". His parents were murdered and his mother's side of the family was excommunicated for their grandchild's grievances, all because Brand had in a fit of rage knocked out the man responsible for killing children. The Tuffle Legion saved Brand before execution and instantly recruited him due to the nature of his upbringing and his understanding of the inner workings of the Saiyan army. Eventually Brand became known as a Tuffle hero, even if the Tuffles lost the war, the Legion succeeded in killing the Queen of Earth, and damaging the relationship between the Earth and Vegeta in the process. Brand and a few of his fellow Legionarres managed to escape execution, drifting out into space, and far away from the Northern galaxy which had gone to hell after the assassination of the Queen. No where was safe for long and the Legion remnants continued to hop from world to world dodging those in search of them, and distancing themselves from civilization as they did so. Seeking a permanent solution to escape from their enemies, they learned of a massive vortex in the Eastern Galaxy known as the Breach by local pirates. The breach was said to be extremely dangerous, but it was said that on the other side of the breach was a safe place, a place where one could go to lay low if the heat was just too high to be dealt with. Knowing all too well that they couldn't keep this on the run life style going for much longer, Brand and company entered into the great expanse of space to find the Breach. It didn't take long for them and their Tuffel vessle to come across the breach, a giant gaping vortex in the middle of space that spat out weird energy readings, and caused mild equipment failures as it drew closer. As the ship drew ever closer to its destination images of random locations, technical failures of a massive scale, and what could only be described as ghostly apparitions began to make their presence felt throughout the vessle. Many aboard the vessle believed themselves to be going crazy, barricading themselves in their rooms as to avoid seeing any more of the haunting sights that graced their eyes. Still the ship drew closer to the breach and as it did so thingsbegan to intensify, in particular crew members began to "vanish" only to reappear on another part of the ship with no recollection of what had occured. More so than that the apparitions began to become more corpereal in nature, and began to physically assail those that they did not recognize. No longer fearing that this was insanity, but something else the men and women aboard the ship fought back as the ship which thrusters had failed a long time ago, began to drift closer to the breach. Slowly, but surely multiple systems began to fail, and crew members began to vanish entirely as the ship slowly became consumed by the Breach. The feeling of passing through the breach felt much like being torn apart at a molecular level, only to be put back together again so that you could be torn back apart for further investigation. Brand, who would flicker in, and out of awareness of his surroundings due to the occurrences on board the vessle, found himself seeing his friends being torn apart, and reliving old occurrences. Eventually, Brand found himself fully brought back to awareness in one piece, but with a ship that was rapidly falling toward a desert with no power to activate the thrusters. Brand did his best, but ended up crash landing in the Diablo desert, only to be found by the local gang who saw a giant vortex appear in the sky and spit out a ship. Hoping to strip mine the ship for resources, they would come across an unconscious Brand, and a few dead crew mates. This is where our story begins! The appearance of this energy makes Alister appear to blur as if he is moving extremely fast when really all Brand is doing is fluctuating through time and space itself on a lesser level to what had occurred on the ship he had arrived on. This energy grants Alister a massive boost to maneuverability as he almost "stutters", randomly fast forwarding to different points in the time of his attacks making them harder to predict, or rewinding to different points making himself harder to hit as he does so. SUPER SAIYAN Level: I Power Level: 2,744 HP: 600 + 45% = 870 Power: 340 + 90% = 646 Dexterity: 15 + 15% = 17 Level 2: Super Saiyan [1d30] Appearance: Achieving this form pushes the Saiyan's hair upwards in a spiked form due to the massive amount of energy generated around them. The hair takes on a golden color and natural eye color changes to a greenish-blue hue. Muscle tone also becomes more defined and due to the release of ki, a golden aura encompasses the Saiyan at all times. It has been theorized that there is a form in between Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 where the muscle mass increases dramatically, but at the cost of speed. Stats: +50% Power. +30% HP. +20% Dexterity. Special Trait(s): [NOVICE] The Power of Legend -You may have your attack roll gain +1 to the result. You cannot SEVER with that roll. Requirements: N/A Kaio-ken [FREESTYLE, SKILL] Description: The Kaio-ken is a technique that multiplies the user's ki for a "heart beat", enabling them to inflict serious damage to foes who are considerably stronger than them. The red aura of Kaio-ken completely tints the user a similar shade. Effect: RESTRICTEDx1. Your next three attacks do +(10% Power "39/42") Damage. Your Dexterity bonus gains +2 for the next 6 turns. Your Dexterity is considered higher than your opponent’s for the next 6 turns. You must pay the cost of this Skill in order to use it. The cost of this Skill cannot be modified. Requirements: N/A Custom Skill Name: Stunning Brutality Custom Skill Description: On the battlefield there are two types of fighters: the one who is the aggressor and the one who is being assaulted. There are no other types, those who pretend like "defense" is an actual way to win have never heard the old proverb that the best defense is a great offense. Alister Brand is a living example of this as he has learned now through Roshi's teachings to forgo defensive intensity in favor of an all out offensive assault that has little room to allow his opponent a chance to defend themselves at the cost of his own defensive focus. Custom Skill Effect: Restricted x2. Activate after successfully stunning an opponent. Your next attack deals an additional +(10% Power Damage "39/42") and your opponent's defense roll gains -2 to the result. Your next defense roll gains -2 to the result. If you are below (50% Total Health), the damage of your next attack is increased to (+15% Power Damage "59/66") and your next defense roll gains -4 to the result instead. Costs 2 Ki Points. King's Researcher [FREESTYLE, LATENT SKILL] Description:The Research Team may not have been the strongest bunch but they were definitely smart and knew how to utilize their energy. You've picked up a thing or two and have more energy to spend. Effect: You start all Battles and Spars with + 1 Ki. Requirements: N/A Instant Transmission [FREESTYLE, LATENT SKILL] Description: The user dematerializes and moves as a mass of light, disappearing from view at an incredible speed. From that point, they can lock onto a Ki signature and materialize near it. Effect: Once per week, you can Instant Transmission yourself to another planet. You cannot use Instant Transmission to teleport you to another planet 2 weeks in a row. In the event that the planet you are is destroyed, you may use Instant Transmission to take you to another planet (regardless if you used it the week before). Instant Transmission is a requirement to learn certain moves. Requirements: N/A Basic Attacks Basic Punch - (10% Power) Damage. Costs 0 KI Points. Basic Kick - (10% Power) Damage. Costs 0 KI Points. Advanced Attacks [1 Slots] BASE COST 1 Straightjacket [AOYUSUMU, PHYSICAL, HOLD] Description: Charging the opponent and pulling them into a flying guard, the attacker makes use of the positioning to both restrict the opponent's movements and set themselves up for future attacks. Effect: Physical attack doing (30% "118/132" Power) Damage. SUCCESSFUL - For the next 6 turns, if you roll a defensive roll result of 25 or higher, COUNTER. If your defensive dice roll result was lower than your opponent's attack roll result, their attack is still SUCCESSFUL. The duration of this effect cannot stack; it must expire before you can renew it. Costs 1 KI Point. Requirements: N/A Meteor Smash [PHYSICAL, PUNCH, KICK] Description: A technique not unlike Kaioken Attack, the user assaults their target with a flurry of physical strikes before using Instant Transmission to appear right above them; axe-handling them with furious intensity to the ground. Effect: Physical attack doing (7% Power) Damage per hit. Your attack roll is 6d30 for this attack. Double your Dexterity bonus for this attack. This can exceed the normal dice modification limit. SUCCESSFUL - If 4 or more attack rolls are SUCCESSFUL, STUN. Costs 1 KI Point. Requirements: Instant Transmission BASE COST 2 BASE COST 3 Machine Gun Kicks [AKAIKARU, PHYSICAL, KICK] Description: A series of advancing snap kicks performed in rapid succession – so fast that a ‘blaze’ effect manifests itself. Effect: Physical attack doing (10% Power "39/42") Damage per hit. Your attack roll is 5d30 for this attack. The cost of this attack cannot be reduced below 2 KI Points. SUCCESSFUL – If 4 dice rolls are successful, STUN. If all 5 dice rolls are SUCCESSFUL, STUNx2. Costs 3 KI Points. Requirements: N/A BASE COST 4 Jackknife Beam [AKAIKARU, ENERGY, BEAM] Description: The user dashes toward their opponent, catching them off guard by not immediately attacking them. Instead, the user does a front flip over the top of their opponent, only to shoot a thin green beam at the back of their head mid-flip. Effect: Energy attack doing (55% Power "216/231") Damage. If your Dexterity bonus is +2 or more, the result of this attack roll gains +4. You may not Power Up on your next turn. SUCCESSFUL - STUN. Costs 4 KI Points. Requirements: N/A Blocks [0 Slots] Gone In A Sixtieth of A Second [AKAIKARU, BLOCK] Description: A mad dash done at the last minute, confusing the opponent into thinking they have landed their swarm of attacks only to find disappointment. Effect: RESTRICTEDx1. STOP a physical or energy attack. This can STOP all dice from energy multi-dice attacks. Your next base cost 1 attack gains “SUCCESSFUL - If your dice roll result is 20 or higher, STUN. This STUN cannot be prevented by any means.“. Costs X KI Points. Requirements: N/A Chiaoutzu's Psychic Halt Description: The tiny mime-man taught you a technique he uses to intercept incoming attacks not through advanced martial arts maneuvers or split second dodging, but rather by standing his ground and manipulating his ki to psychically halt a foe in their place. The time they are stopped is short, but long enough to allow you the chance to deliver your own attack. Effect: RESTRICTEDx1. Block. Stop a physical or energy attack. We were thinking one of the below, whichever you wanted. CONSTANT -Your attack rolls gain +1 to the results. Your attacks with 'STUN' in the effect deal an additional (5% Power) Damage. Costs 1 Ki Point. CONSTANT - Your defense rolls gain +1 to the result. when you STOP an opponent's attack and your defensive roll is at least 5 higher than their attack roll, they take (5% Power) Damage. Costs 1 Ki Point. |
