A Remnant

Elizabeth Chasseur The Huntress Posted Image Earth is not as safe a place as some people would think. The cities are bastions of safety, reinforced by light, technology, guarded by models and EDF, great places where only the most subtle and clever of beasts can infiltrate and kill, but there are other places, not so safe. Countless farms, villages, towns and settlements far too small for the EDF or Models to protect. There's just too many, hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands all spread out across the great expanse of the Earth. They are too many, and the beasts that constantly prey upon them are numerous. To fill this gap, to keep humans from retreating entirely to their cities, to allow them to eke out some form of existence in their towns and cities, step in...the hunters. The hunters come in many orders and shapes, some cover only a small territory equal to a small country, while others try to spread their influence and ability across as much of the planet as they can. Their weapons, methods, beliefs, and rituals vary widely. Some shun all forms of magic and even focus on technology, while others focus on old, arcane rituals that are all but forgotten among the other humans of Earth. They can be large or small, focusing on large groups of hunters to storm lairs, nests, and caves, or even focus on training solo agents to plumb the dark depths of the planet with not but their wits and weaponry. Elizabeth is such a hunter. Elizabeth Chasseur holds herself to no single organization, but she does have ties to one in particular. Instead she lives on her own, in a mansion highly secluded in the tall mountains that spread across the Northern Edge of the continent. There she lives with her eccentric uncle, who is as brilliant an inventor as Elizabeth herself. In fact, she has used many of his own inventions to devise and build her own off of them, to make a powerful and truly terrifying huntress who could wipe out any beast, mundane or supernatural. Her focus is on protecting towns and villages, but too often she finds herself playing catch up, but still she tries and strives to protect and save all that she can. For Elizabeth this is not just a job, not just something to fill the time, to her the hunt is the ultimate method at her disposal to break the beasts, and protect as many people as she can. Elizabeth's skills are quite extensive: -Brilliant engineer and mechanic -Skilled metallurgist -In depth knowledge of tracking, hunting, and herbology -First Aid expert, however, she is not a surgeon or doctor, at best she'd be a nurse. Yet, no one is perfect and she has a few...significant drawbacks: -Terrible people person, her social skills are awful. -She is not a very...lively person. She's at her happiest when she sees someone saved from her efforts, either hunting or first aid, she doesn't do much leisure activities -Rather cold thanks to this, she is very, very talented, skilled and trained but it has really had a blow to her personality. -Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, rarely seen in women, and thus very unlucky. Wiskott-Aldrich is an immunodeficiency that also comes with a bonus of Ecszema and easy bruising and bleeding thanks to a low platelet count. It is...not the most pleasant, but she deals and her uncle has made leaps and strides in keeping her illness under control, provided she doesn't take serious injury of course. Equipment Ardent Hunter's Suit Posted Image Elizabeth's armor, designed off the armor of the Model Legion, she has modified it extensively. Its plates are made of a tight, heavy alloy, giving it a solid weight of eight hundred pounds. In addition a full inch layer of graphene covers every last part of it, giving it a level of durability and power far beyond any normal suit. In fact, between pressure reduction systems, and a special gel like foam put on the inside of the armor, it can withstand impacts of terrible force, and even if Elizabeth is sent flying from the impact is stopped by the gel, keeping her safe inside. It is also lined with special fibre bundle muscles that increase her strength drastically, and give her a high level of speed, the gel once again stopping whiplash...at least as long as she's wearing her helmet and in the sealed environment. In addition, a heavy, pack like power source is attached to the back, grafted on, with dual exhaust ports that can also be rigged to send her flying and swooping through the air at high speed. Indeed, the only drawback to the Ardent Hunter's Suit, is reflexes. Elizabeth has a very low PL, high for a human, but not for a super warrior, and has to rely upon the comparatively slow reflexes of her human self, for now at least. Yet, reflexes aside, blow for blow, Elizabeth could dish out and receive punishment from a super saiyan in a proper slug fight, maybe even a super saiyan 2. Beast Breaker's Rifle Posted Image This great, bulky rifle is a massive weapon, and a terrifying one. Once again, heavy metals are used in the core design to add weight and stability, but coated over with graphene inside and out. However, the lining inside of the barrel is a mixture of graphene, ceramics and a couple other things made for a very, very high melting point. This is because Elizabeth uses a very specialized shell with this gun, along with CC extended clips for two hundred round clips. Each shell is a thick, long slug, with a heavy, bronze casing. Inside the cartridge is not simply gunpowder, but an almost gel like solution, that upon the spark of the hammer, erupts into an actual plasma. White hot and accelerating the main slug forward with far, far more power than even the best of conventional gunpowder weapons. Yet the actual main slug is also quite powerful, it's called an SNF round, which stands for Strong Nuclear Force. The SNF is the force that keeps the protons bound together in the nucleus of an atom, and is one of the strongest powers in the universe, but is also very short ranged, never straying outside the nucleus...usually. However, through a very careful process, a single, needle like sliver in the very center of the slug has an extended SNF field, engulfing the whole core of the slug. This means that even the hardest targets will have the main shell flatten, but the needle like core slam into their body, piercing them in a deadly blow laced with the heat of the plasma launch. Purging Flame Posted Image This bulky flamer is a good choice for large swarms of enemies, and is every bit as customized. Durable and sturdy, it releases gouts of liquid flames, the fuel a gel like substance that is sprayed out with high, incredible force. It sticks to surfaces and targets, burning relentlessly, incinerating anything it lands on. A dangerous weapon, but not quite plasma, although Elizabeth is working on fixing that. Chainsword Posted Image Simple, brutal, and terrifying. The chainsword is a bulky weapon, going up to Elizabeth's chest in length. When revved it has a terrible cutting power, with a durable, razor sharp chain and casing, leading it to slice and saw its way through flesh, fur, armor, stone, just about anything in its path. If she gets into melee this is what she's going to be wielding...and one should be very, very wary if it comes out onto the field. And as a bonus, here's what Elizabeth usually wears when she's not armored and ready to fight, although she does keep an assortment of weaker weapons on her person in capsules. The cloak and brooch are actually an insignia of a hunting order her parents were part of. She keeps contact with that order, but is not an official member. Posted Image |
