Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. The Roots Deluxe[3:3] Attack
A vicious, lightning fast combo attack charged with aggressive amounts of ki.
Does (Strength+Spirit)/2 in damage. Can only be blocked or dodged with ATBS that can match Roots' Strength or Spirit, whichever is lower. Spirit and Strength raise by 50% for each level past 1 during the attack.
{60 Strength, 60 Spirit, Ki Blast, Flight, Basic Combat} -Once per thread, 25% of power level-

Roots Dessert Special [3:3] Attack
A refined ki blast, and a mastery of control of basic ki. User gathers ki in two hands held forward, and then releases a massive blast beam of red ki energy. Does Spirit in damage. Spirit raises by 33% per level when using this attack. The blast cannot be blocked and can only be dodged with an ATBS. The post after a Dessert Special is performed must be spent without using any Attacks or Techniques that cost power level.

Dirty Engi's Strike [1:4] Attack
An attack that combines the physical power of a titan with the engineering know-how of genius. Roots uses a weapon and swings it with a lot of force at an opponent.
Deals Aptitude*1.3 Mental Damage or Aptitude*2 Mental Damage to T1/T2 Androids, T1/T2 Cyborgs, and Robots.

Primal Wolf Saiyan Combat [1:6] Technique
Roots has mastered his ultimate fighting style while also integrating his training with control of Ki and speed. When activated, Roots floods his body with ki and is granted bonuses when attacking. Strength and Spirit based attacks while under the effects of this form have doubled stat checks to beat when this technique reaches level 6. Takes a post to achieve this form.
{100 Strength, 100 Spirit} -10% per post-

Great Wolf Howl [1:2] Technique
A howl that will strike fear into Roots' enemies and courage into his allies. Upon use, Roots and any of his allies will receive +10% to their maximum power level per level and all enemies will receive -10% to their maximum power level per level. Enemies and Allies alike must be able to hear the howl clearly. This technique is only usable while in Oozaru form, and takes an entire post to perform.
[Oozaru 4:4] -Once per thread, 10% power level-

Head on Assault [5:5] Technique
A combination of physical endurance and ki. The user coats oneself in dense ki and strikes in response to a Strength, Spirit, or Dexterity based attack at high velocity. This technique reduces the damage of the attack by 95% if the user's strength and spirit are higher than the attacking stat and returns damage equal to 25% of Spirit and Strength(If applicable).

Magic Protection Barrier [1:5] Technique (UPDATED IN PROFILE)
A shield of intense energy created from a technology item/power core/armor. This shield blocks any magic from effecting the user or anyone within ten yards of them.

Enhanced Tech Energy Shield [1:4] Technique
A shield generated from some sort of technology, robot, or scouter. This shield is a projection of ki but channeled through technology to block Psychic, Magic, or Technology attacks. Reduces the damage of any Willpower, Aptitude, or Wisdom attack by Spirit+Aptitude.

Enhanced Tech Power Shield [1:4] Technique
A shield generated from some sort of technology, robot, or scouter. This shield is a projection of ki but channeled through technology to block Strength, Dexterity, and Spirit based attacks. Reduces the damage of any Strength, Dexterity, or Spirit based-attack by Spirit+Aptitude.

Savage Infusion [1:4] Technique-Transformation Alteration
Roots has embraced his curse and his enhanced Oozaru form. As such, this form grows even more powerful, but at the cost of Roots' power level during transformation. Grants +5 to Roots' Strength, Spirit, and Aptitude per level while in Oozaru form.

Primal Rampage [1:4] Technique
Roots transforms into his full blooded beast form, growing more and more violent with each transformation.
The level of transformation attainable is equal to the level of the skill. Each level counts a separate, attainable transformation. Each level gives 5+X to Strength, Spirit, and Aptitude, where X is equal to 5*level. The level four transformation also increases max power level by 50%.
Each level is a separate transformation and takes a post to achieve. The cost of the transformation is equal to the bonus achieved by each form (meaning that stage 1 costs 10%, turning to stage 2 costs 5%, and so on). Maintaining the form costs 5% per post.

Savage Saiyan Soul [1:4] Ability
The fire in a Saiyan's heart that can sometimes only be stirred by the heat of battle.
Allows for a use of 'Saiyan Soul' to be used to prevent going unconscious once per thread when the Saiyan would reach 0 PL. At 4:4, another ATBS may be used alongside Saiyan Soul (including this ability).

Maximum Over-Saiyan Soul [1:10] Ability
A Saiyan of true fire and grit can come back again, and again. At [5:10], grants an additional use of Saiyan Soul and at [10:10], increases the power level cap restore to 70%.

Ki Claws [1:4] Ability
Roots uses his inner ki to enhance his physical blows, adding ki damage to all of his physical attacks.
Each level of the ability adds another to Roots' physical attacks.
At level 1 it adds 10% of spirit to physical attacks and drains 1% per hit
At level 2 it adds 30% of spirit to physical attacks and drains 2% per hit
At level 3 it adds 45% of spirit to physical attacks and drains 3% per hit
At level 4 it adds 75% of spirit to physical attacks and drains 4% per hit
{10 Spirit, 10 Strength, Basic Combat}

Maximum Effort [1:3] Ability
The true fire of a Ki Wielder can be manifested into the form of an attack, perhaps a last ditch effort, perhaps a fast show of power. Either way, the results can be devastating.
Grants +50% max power level per level for a single maxed level Spirit Attack.
{100 Spirit} -5% PL. Once every other level per thread.

Combat Senses [1:4] Ability
With a strict emphasis on enhanced senses, a fighter can become more in-tune in combat. As long as the user can see, smell, or hear, they can fight any opponent as normal. Additionally, while the same requirements are met the user is granted an additional +(2/4/7/10) to defensive stat checks.

Roots, the Combat Engineer [1:5] Ability
Roots is good at fighting. Roots is good at fixing. After a long period of time, he's found a way to enhance his mechanical abilities with ki. Adds 60% of the Spirit Stat to Aptitude for use in an Aptitude ATBS or any kind of aptitude check.

Infinite Radio Jacker [1:4] Ability
Roots has worked tirelessly at trying to figure out how exactly fade works and what the alternate dimension is. After a long time, he has found more about the phenomenon and has extended his knowledge to infiltrating others Fade. At 4:4, if Roots' Aptitude is half of another PC's relevant stat for Entering Infinite or any variant, he can use his Infinite Remote to enter that instance of fade.
{Infinite Remote 20:20}. -Same cost as Infinite Remote-


Infinite Bracers Charge [1:1] Ability
Roots can temporarily charge the Infinite Bracers he built for Daze. This was mainly a test to make sure the systems worked, but allows for Roots to 'activate' the bracers as well.
If Daze's 'Infinite Bracers' are not at 15:15, this ability can satisfy the requirement for Zen Daze if Roots spends a post to activate the bracers as long as Daze is wearing them. Even if Daze's bracers are at 15:15, this ability can still activate the Infinite Bracers and force the 'Zen Daze' transformation.

Allows the user knowledge to bridge technology and psychic waves.

Autonomous Creation [1:1] Skill
The ability to create technology that can completely operate on it's own. Each individual creation is a separate NPC with different bonuses or abilities.

Wolf Saiyan Scent [1:1] Skill
Roots' nose has gotten very, very good. He can smell things from miles, miles away, even with the faintest memory of a scent. Allows for Roots to locate persons that he has identified, no matter where they are, as long as he can smell.

Drunk Monkey Saiyan Combat [1:1] Skill
Roots has developed his ultimate fighting style after a very long time of being a brawler. His moves are fluid, and slick as a result of his enhanced hearing, and allows for a higher form of combat. This combat style also involves the use of Roots' Saiyan Tail. Grants an additional 25% of strength to basic combat. Additionally, 30% of Roots' physical damage is unblockable by ATBS that cannot match twice Roots' strength.

Rapid Transformer[1:1] Skill
Allows the user to to 'skip' levels of a transformation and go straight to certain levels if they are able to achieve said forms. The user however cannot use the effects of 'Able Transformer' when they Rapid Transform, and are stuck transforming for said post. The transformation also costs an additional 10% of power level.

Master Transformer [1:1] Skill
Allows the user to fight as normally while transforming using ATBS that have the clause 'Takes a post'. Specifically for Roots, his Hybrid Forms, Great Wolf Oozaru, and Primal Rampage. The effects of Rapid Transformer may be put in use as well. Bonuses from transforming do not occur until the NEXT post.

Able Transformer [1:1] Skill
Allows the user to fight while transforming. Basic combat and ki blasts can be used, but no named attacks/techniques

A training of science in the fields of bio-technology. Careful not to push science beyond what is moral.

Cooking [1:1] Skill
The ability to prepare and cook very excellent meals. If given time/rest, power level can be restored to full with a meal and several hours.

Tech Enhanced Armor Skill [1:1] Skill
Allows for the use, and maintenance of Tech Enhanced Armor.

Instinctive Cunning Combat [1:6] Skill
Rather than learn and diligently practice an educated fighting style, you've improvised your own through natural born instinct, reflex, and survival.
[6:6] "Good 'Nuff", This skill may substitute the Immense Physical Prowess requirement for any ATBS or Item. Additionally grants +10% to Strength and Dexterity whenever using or targeted by a Strength or Dexterity attack.
{Basic Combat, 45 Strength or Dexterity} You may not learn or level Immense Physical Prowess; otherwise, you may not learn or level this skill.

Over-Clock [1:5] Skill
Roots knows how to make engines, armor, and weapons purr.
Any items created by Roots can be leveled one level beyond max equal to the level of this skill.

Brawn and Brain [1:1] Skill
Skilled in both martial arts and the laws of nature, one can replicate finesse.
If Roots uses a Dexterity ATBS it uses Strength instead of Dexterity. He may learn Dexterity based ATBS if his (Strength+Dexterity)/2 = the requirement. When stats check Dex against Roots they check Strength instead.

Roots claws when transformed are weapons. This includes any form that relates to his wolf transformations.

Stun Club [1:5] TechnoWeapon
A technological marvel of a weapon, and Roots' attempt at non-lethal force. The Stun Club is a sword-like weapon, but has a very long handle, almost as long as the laser-blade itself. The handle is three feet long, and the weapon itself is forty-six inches long. Each level grants an additional +3 to Aptitude. Attacking with the weapon will deal 60% of Aptitude in Technology Damage. This weapon is capable of growing in size to fit Roots no matter which form he wishes to use the weapon in. This weapon is capable of reducing enemies PL to 0 but the weapon will not further harm them.

Moon Simulation Device [1:1] Technology
A complicated device with a simple use. This technology simulates a full moon in the sky above for use of Oozaru by Saiyans. Any Saiyans in the thread must avoid looking at the full moon, making their fighting less effective, or risk transforming into an Oozaru.

Daze's (Old) Car [1:1] Technology
Daze's old car, rebuilt, remodeled, repainted, heavily cleaned, stripped down, broken, repaired, completely redesigned car. Except Roots was lazy as shit, and didn't do half of that. The car built is actually a convertible. At most times, it appears like Daze's old car. Rugged, nasty, despicable. But, with the push of a few buttons, the top of the car can reconstruct, giving wonderful climate control as well as pressure regulation and oxygen, allowing for sea and air travel. Oh, also it can fly, because it has fucking badass jets on it. But it has no weapons...just kidding! It has two mounted miniguns on the side that are 'hidden' underneath the seats, extending out when the driver presses the right button. These guns do 30% of aptitude of the wielder. There is also a giant fuckin' missile that can fire from the front of the car that deals 65% of aptitude, but only one missile can be fired per thread. This car is capable of ground speeds up to 170 miles per hour, air speeds of 850 miles per hour, surface water speeds of 120 miles per hour and underwater speeds of 25 miles per hour.

Teleportation Remote [1:5] Technology
Roots has seen the effects of 'fade' multiple times, and decided to work to replicate this effect through use of technology. He has succeeded. The TP Remote is a small, 4x2 inch remote that easily fits into a slot in any decent suit of Armor or clothing, tech or not. Interfacing with another display is efficient, but the remote can be used by itself. The effects of the remote are near exact to fade, except the TP remote takes a little longer to use, so it's effects in combat are not nearly as effective. Note that an upside to this remote is that anyone touching the user will also teleport. Using the remote does cost 20% power level.

Installed Power Core [1:1] Item
A small core designed by Roots, implanted in his body in the same cavity that his tail grows from. This core can fulfill the "Technology" requirement for ATBS and nothing more. This item cannot be disturbed by enemy ATBS/items. When the IPC is used it costs 2%.

The Infinity Remote [1:20] Technology
A remote that possesses the same exact effects as 'Entering Infinite' as the same level, but has the same costs as the 'Teleportation Remote,'

Tech Enhanced Saiyan Armor (Body) [1:10] Armor
Tech Enhanced Saiyan Armor, built by Roots. Combines Armorsmithing and Technolord to create improved armor. Grants +2% resistance to all damage per level. At level 10, grants +10% Current Power level. This armor suit encloses the body of the user, but still allows for very fluid movement and all uses of ki.

Tech Enhanced Saiyan Armor (Helmet) [1:1] Armor
The Helmet of Roots' enhanced armor suit. Has a built in scouter on the front hud, and grants life support and climate control to the wielder allowing for nearly any environment to be traversed. Grants +50% resistance to moves that attack the user's mind. This helmet, as well as the body suit, completely enclose the user, save for the face, which can be 'deconstructed' and constructed as will if the user wishes or needs to use their face.

Tech Enhanced Exo-Suit [10:10] Robot-Armor
An exo-suit designed in mind to go around Roots' Tech Enhanced Saiyan Armor. Gives additional defensive bonuses and offensive capabilities when used. The Suit is 'wire-frame', made of white 'pipe' material, designing a body form around Roots in his Tech Armor. 'Upgrades' the defensive upgrade of Roots' armor by 1% per level. Also grants +1 Strength and Spirit per level. This suit has 'health' itself, breaking once receiving 50% of Roots' power level in damage(Calculated with the total damage reduction). This is an additional 'pool' of health, separate from Roots.; If this suit breaks it costs one Android Repair to fix.

Tech Enhanced Archangel Suit [1:10] Tech-Armor
An exo-suit of armor designed to go around Tech-Enhanced Saiyan Armor. This alloyed suit is very 'Angelic' in design, and covers every inch of skin on Angeles' body. The suit is light, and durable, allowing for full use of any all parts of Angeles' body, wings included. The suit is activated through a psychic link.
Grants +1.5% extra damage reduction per level. When Angeles' wishes, she may activate the Archangel Suit. Activating the Archangel Suit costs 5% and costs 5% every subsequent post after the activation. Angeles' wings cannot be broken while the Archangel Suit is active. While the Archangel Suit is active Angeles' offensive stat checks (not damage) are boosted by 2% per level.

Tech Enhanced Telekinetic Suit [1:10] Tech-Armor
An exo-suit of armor designed to go around Tech-Enhanced Saiyan Armor. This suit is integrated with technology to enhance a user's psychic abilities both in and out of combat. Each level grants +1.5% extra resistance to all damage per level, as well as +1.5% Willpower per level.

Flux Contacts [1:15] Item
A set of contacts created by Roots that sit in his eyes. These contacts are capable of creating conditions that allow for the owner to transform into an Oozaru if they have the ability. This item only functions at 15:15.

The Infinite Bracers [1:15] Armor
A suit made after Roots' mastery of Fade technology. The Infinite Bracers are a pair of small, lightweight tech infused bracers that generate small areas of ethereal zones around a person's arms, specifically, where Daze's magical orbs are. Grants +1% reduction to all damage per level. At 15:15, this suit allows Daze to satisfy the requirement for 'Zen' Daze', but at a cost. These Bracers are very, very, very hard to remove by yourself if you are wearing them.

Intergalactic Radio Upgrades [1:1] Upgrade
Roots has decided that enough is enough. Communications over long distances and even inter-dimensional distances have clearly become a necessity. Upgrades Roots' Advanced Scouter and any PC that has a corresponding communications device to be able to communicate with each other through space, through the fade, and even through inter-dimensional barriers, such as the Demon Gate, if their Infinite Remote is capable of doing so.

Roots' and Angeles common method of conversation via ESP and psychic prowess has developed a harmony in certain attacks if the two launch said attack in tandem. The Lover's Kamehameha is one of these, and can be performed when Roots and Angeles use the Kamehameha on the same target.

The Lover's Kamehameha combines both of the attacks into a singular attack. The damage of this attack is the sum of Roots' Kamehameha and Angeles' Kamehameha. The stat check of this Kamehameha is the sum of Roots' Spirit + Angeles' Strength, Spirit, and Dexterity. The Lover's Kamehameha cannot be blocked. The Lover's Kamehameha will only function at 3:3.
