Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. We love new members and are a very welcoming bunch of people.

This sounds like a headache to have to calculate mid-combat, but, I can tell it's still really good. I do guess at the end of the day, a 50% damage reduction isn't that crazy with conditions. (And that means the human is sub 25% if I can comprehending the ability)

I'll approve this!

I'm in no hurry to have this approved considering how much I still have to do to acquire it, but I just wanted to make sure it hasn't gone forgotten and to check to see if it needs any additional tweaks for balancing purposes.

Alright, here's a bit of a tricky one, but I hope I've not gone overboard with its power.

Unrestricted [1:4] Technique
A true hero of the people exercises restraint and self control so as not to harm the innocent they have sworn to protect, but great evil may sometimes force them to cast aside their personal restrictions and confront a threat with all their might. This technique requires an entire post to activate, but, when activated, this it grants the following effects.

[1:4] Restores 5% missing PL per level

[2:4] Grants +3 Strength per level. Attacks that determine Strength as damage cost an additional 1% PL including attacks that have no cost.

[3:4] Grants +3 Spirit per level. Attacks that determine Spirit as damage cost an additional 1% PL including attacks that have no cost.

[4:4] Restores an additional 15% PL.

[5:5] Grants an additional +10 Strength and +10 Spirit and increases the costs of attacks that determine Strength or Spirit by an additional 1% PL including attacks that have no cost.

The Spirit, Strength, and attack cost increases provided by this technique last for 1 post per level, not counting its Activation post.

{60 Spirit, 60 Strength, Be Jack Trader} This technique may only be activated once per thread and only at 60% remaining PL or less.

While this is strong (I think at level 4 it means +25 Strength and Spirit, but +2% to each cost)

Note that this technique does not require Fan of the Flame or to be Jack Trader (But if you want to ensure no n00bs ask you to use this technique, you can keep that stuff)

I'll approve it. However, you can drop the tagline that it costs PL to deactivate the technique. I believe the upped costs is enough. Add in a note that Jack Trader can remain in this form (after the transformation post of course) equal to a number of posts equal to level.

Alright, I worded it as carefully as I could to keep it as simple as possible while maintaining the original concept.

Remember to clean up the 1:4 's into 1:5 's and this is approved

Alright, I managed to come up with the closest thing to a custom attack that would fit Jack's style.

Asking to buff this

Felling Tree Strike [1:1] Attack
A powerful upward and open-palm strike dealt to either a target’s chin or to an area of one of their arms, dealing Strength*0.6 in damage; alternatively, the user may deliver a sweeping kick toward a target’s legs. The result for either attack unbalances and disorients the target, reducing all of their stats by 5 for one post or until after the use of their next ATBS.
[Advanced Combat] None

I'd like to request to buff this.

Against the Wall [1:5] Technique
Jack creates a large and immobile wall of energy near him that may withstand 30% of his Spirit per level in damage before breaking. If Jack manages to send a target into the wall by any means, the wall will shatter and deal 20% of his Spirit in damage per level. The wall may be used to block incoming attacks even on the post it's created. Jack may create 1 wall per thread every other level and may only have one wall active at a time.
At level 5, If Jack’s Spirit is 60 or higher, he may increase the size of a wall to enormous proportions for double the cost. An enormous wall will not shatter if Jack sends a target into it, but it will receive Jack’s Strength in damage.
{Ki Manifesting, Be Jack} -15% PL

Dark Sword and Scabbard [1:5]

A Dark Sword is also known as a Sword of Death because it taxes its wielder's life force in exchange for the power it bestows. Jack’s Dark Sword possesses no sharp edge or point and cannot cut without excessive force. The design flaw was intentional. Its scabbard protects the owner from its adverse effects; otherwise, it would kill them overnight.

Jack must draw the Dark Sword from its scabbard to apply any of its effects and costs. Jack may not return it to its scabbard until the end of combat. It is, after all, a forbidden weapon considered cursed.
The effects of the Dark Sword cannot be negated including this one.
Jack's Strength and Max PL cannot be decreased as long as he wields the Dark Sword.
Jack may swing the Dark Sword to deal Strength in damage to a target.
Jack may swing the Dark Sword to negate one ATBS that targets him once per thread, twice at level 5.

{Immense Physical Prowess [5:5], Ki Manifestation, Be Jack} Whoever possesses the Dark Sword will have their PL drained by 5% per post during combat. Each swing of the Dark Sword drains its wielder’s PL by 5%.

That's all, just feel like it's almost TOO good to be 3x a thread.

Seems fair if I could up the damage since it is a level 5 weapons. How's this?

Alright. 2 things.

Edited Against the Wall so that increasing its size only costs 5% more PL, but has no other added benefit.

And I have a new attack.

RePulse [1:5] Attack
The user extends both hands forward and discharges an invisible blast of concussive energy; alternatively, the user may launch the attack from their feet. The blast travels blindingly fast and is difficult to dodge without the use of ATBS. Anyone struck by the blast will be knocked back a great distance and will receive the user’s Spirit*0.5 in damage. The damage of this attack increases by Spirit*0.1 per level. The concussive nature of this attack disorients a target, reducing all of their stats by 5 for one post or until after the use of their next attack.
{60 Spirit} -5% PL and may only be used once per post.
