Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

What are, "Mates"?; Daze, Machi

Roots
"Here...h-here we go," He muttered softly to himself. He was wearing his armor, fuck yeah he was. He had no idea if this thing was going to really, really work. He was paranoid with Daze being close, the readings from that guy's arms, and those gems, were fucking terrifying sometimes.

Not even to mention the dense magical being that was Machi. He took a long swig from his bottle of vodka, finishing off about a fourth of it. He'd need to be already a little lubed to catch up with his friends. Maybe he'd get a chance to talk to Daze about Angeles. Was there even a point? The dude couldn't remember anything.

Roots wasn't even sure if Daze liked him. The same went for Machi. They were a pretty violent pair at times, but they didn't incite the violence. He couldn't ever say they had. They were assholes, but they tipped well and paid their dues.

The Saiyan liked them.

Unfortunately, Bruce would be pretty pissed at Roots. His aim had been off, so as lighting and swirling tornado of dust (Bad on Bruce for never sweeping the damn bar) and a bright flash of colors exploded, Roots sent several chairs and tables flying in every which direction in the magical human's favorite hideout. His teleportation remote had been a success, at least that day. Not as easy as wizards, but...

Roots was coughing, waving away the smoke, but they were there. What good timing. The dust settled, and he took a step forward. Before he could speak, Bruce did.

"Damnit, Daze, this guy!? This one's the weird one! And now he's teleporting, too?"

Daze
"r-r-r-ronc shshshsh r-r-r-ronc," the sound of Daze snoring at one of the tables in the bar echoed.

Machi was somewhere near. Doing something Machi's do when Daze drank himself into submission or passed out from exhaustion. Which was often when nothing was going on. It's a wonder that he's alive much less in the shape he's in. Magic does wonders for the body.

BOOM! CRACKALACKA! ZING!

Explosions, tables and chairs went flying. Including the one Daze was resting his face on. Which of course caused his face to fall flat to the floor, where he laid unconscious still even when Roots appeared and Bruce screamed at the Saiyan for his destruction.

"Machi..." Daze muttered in his sleep between snores. "Muffle mitters..." he muttered again, nonsensically.

Mystic Machi
Machi was indeed somewhere near, sitting at a table a few feet away from Daze. While the man slept, Machi was experimenting with her creation ability, to see what she could make with it. It was quite the interesting ability, to be able to make drinks and food just using her own inner power. Also, she could make tables, windows, and the mysterious ice. As she created some ice on the table to watch melt, something weird happened in the bar.

There was quite the light show as Pooches appeared, somehow popping up in the middle of the bar. While Machi was always happy to see one of her mates appear, knocking Daze over was not that good of a thing. Flying over to Daze to check on him, Machi heard the mutterings, and decided on a course of action.

"Pooches!" Machi exclaimed, trying to imitate Daze's stance as she addressed him, "Daze wants to know how you did the thing with the lights and booms!" This was most likely not exactly what Daze would say, but Machi was going to handle Pooches. She'd show him for messing up their bar.

Oh, shit.

"S-sorry, sorry Bruce," The Saiyan sheepishly said, frowning. That had been a fuck up. If Daze hadn't been so damn drunk, perhaps there would have been a party-foul call, but instead, he ended up on the floor.

It was a good thing Roots had gotten a head start. He'd need it to catch up.

Machi took the same stance Daze always did, and demanded to know how he'd made all of those lights and sounds. Roots was actually confused, but only for a moment, however.

"Well, little Miss-Machi," The Saiyan responded, walking over to Daze and picking him up. If he couldn't stand, he would lean him over the bar.

"I got here with a little magic of my own, if you must know," he turned to Bruce, pulling a cigarette and a small box of what appeared to be cartridges. For what weapon-Daze and Machi didn't know, or cared. So neither did Roots.

"Sorry for the damage, Bruce. I'l clean up, and you take this, alright? Just keep us lubed for awhile,"

Daze
Daze was still out of it. Like. Hard. Real hard. Not in the good way either. Staying up for 48 hours and getting drunk will do that to a human. Even for Daze that's a bit much. All he could do is mumble and moan. In fact, when he was leaned against the bar he let out a small grunt and did as best he could not to pass gas.

Which means he did. Seeing as he was asleep and had no control over his stomach being pressed against a hard surface.

"Ugh... Machi... Wings on Legs... Pooches for days," he mumbled, likely having a strange dream.

Strange or amazing. Who knows with that guy.

Mystic Machi
"But... that didn't feel like magic," Machi commented, tilting her head to the side a bit. The nature of her being allowed her to know the feel of magic, it was an essential part of her being. It wasn't a major feeling that told her if stuff was magic, more of a gut feeling. But, Machi was one to trust her gut, considering there wasn't much else in this world that she could really draw from.

"Looks like Daze is dreaming of fun times with Wings and Legs, I never got to be part of the fun..." Machi commented, floating up to the counter, not drinking as of yet. Daze had said stuff about dreams in the past, but it didn't really stick that well with Machi. She had never experienced such things before, so she couldn't relate.

"Tell me about dreams Pooches," Machi commanded the man at the counter, floating upside down across the floor.

"Fucking hell, man" Roots muttered silently. Daze had passed some of the worst gas he had smelled in weeks. Dude must have been eating the mexican food again. He floated up and sat his ass on the counter as well, lighting a smoke. Bruce was already in a better mood, the cartridges would likely pay vendors for months.

The Saiyan smirked, exhaling smoke. Daze was mumbling to himself, still passed out. Wings...Legs...Pooches...they were all there. He glanced over at Daze's pink ward as she complained on her lack of fun. And...dreams, as well. Roots knew better than to deny the Majin something she wanted. She had an...interesting personality.

"Dreams are like..." He trailed off, thinking, and then glanced over at Bruce. With a sigh, the man handed him a bottle of vodka. Roots opened it, and began to drink directly from the bottle. When he was with his mates...Roots liked to get shitfaced.

"Dreams are like adventures when you're asleep, except...you're in control of what's going on, whether you know it..." He leaned in, whispering softly.

"Or...not!" He did his best to surprise the Majin. He offered her the bottle of vodka a moment later. They both needed to catch up.

Daze
Daze was having good dreams.

Legs was wearing a low cut skirt, Wings was running around looking for her pants for some reason. Pooches was in dog form chasing the two of them. Machi was riding on Pooches back and Daze was sitting in a lawn chair sipping on a 'walk me down'. Good times. Even Party Bot was there, standing next to Daze blaring music and emitting colorful lights while dancing to the tunes.

"You... get em Bubble-Gum-Pooches... she can't have her pants..." he muttered, sliding off of the counter and onto the ground, flat onto his back.

"ow..." he muttered again. "Don't hit me so hard Legs... I just wanted a look" he sighed.

Mystic Machi
Raising up so that she was looking straight at Roots, Machi was very interesting in the explanation he offered. But then he spoke really loudly, which caused Machi to fly a bit into the air, almost hitting the ceiling. An upset expression on her face, it was disarmed a bit when Roots offered the drink.

"That wasn't nice," Machi stated, taking the Vodka and taking a drink from it. Right away Machi started to turn red, the effect from the alcohol. Because of the drink, Machi was fuming a bit, upset at what Roots had done. "That was really not nice." Machi added for good measure.

"You're lucky the drink is good," Machi finished, finishing the rest of the vodka that Roots had offered the Majin. She was glad he was paying for it, but even if he wasn't, she could have just created her own anyways.

Machi was a little easy to scare. He'd have to remember that. Luckily for Roots, alcohol was the answer to most of the Majin's problems, and after she had taken a sip from the bottle the pink creature turned into a fiery red hue. She grilled him a little more, telling him that he was indeed..not nice.

But, Bruce had good liquor, so the Saiyan was safe. He was reaching forward for the bottle when Machi kept drinking...and kept drinking...and then she finished the bottle. Roots couldn't help but let out a short laugh which turned into a hearty chuckle.

"Please, Bruce, another," He muttered, and Bruce obliged, handing the Saiyan another bottle. He opened it and took a long, long drink, downing at least half the bottle.

"Damn, Machi, Daze trained you well, huh?" he quipped, grinning, leaning over and glancing down at the still unconcious, dreaming human. He frowned, softly.

"Machi, does...does Daze make you happy?"

Daze
Daze rolled over onto his side, fussing at the loud noise being made and swatting at it with his left hand as if it would make it go away. Thankfully he was wearing enough clothes for the wooden floors to not prick into his flesh. Lord knows those floors have seen better days. Especially after Roots caused some damage.

"Story was shit.... I saved the princess furry," Daze mumbled, smacking his lips as he rolled back onto his back.

Describing his current dream... isn't worth the energy.

Smiling a bit after realizing that Roots was a bit awed by her display of drinking the alcohol, Machi hadn't realized it was that big of a deal. Machi was drinking the stuff almost all day, everyday. So, she was quite used to it, and her alien body made it so that she wasn't as effected as other people were. Though, she was a little upset she couldn't get so drunk she ended up like Daze, passed out and dreaming.

"He did! Daze is the best teacher ever," Machi replied, nodding her head then giving Roots a stern look. Daze taught her all about the world, and all the things they encountered in it. Like, most of the mystery about ice, the water that became not water as it got cold.

"Daze is the best, of course I'm happy," Machi continued to Roots' next question, "Why? Does Pooches not like Daze? Does Daze make Pooches sad?"

He was nursing the bottle, letting his cigarette burn dimly in his hand. He the whole thing if he was going to catch up with the bright-red Majin. She claimed that Daze was the greatest teacher ever. Daze was also the best, and of course Machi was happy. The Saiyan glanced down at the still unconscious human as she spoke, and he frowned softly.

"No, no, I...I like Daze. I like you too, Machi,"
he said softly, perhaps the softest thing he had ever said while in the presence of the party duo.

"I just...I hope Daze is happy too, then. I wonder about him. Has he told you anything about...himself?" He took another swig, and then took a long drag from his smoke.

Daze
This is a wonderful conversation they're having. One they'd likely never get to pull off if Daze were awake. In fact, he'd like to wake up and show them all what's what... but this sleep was so nice. He couldn't help but stay asleep. Also he had no idea what was happening outside of his dream world at the moment so that too was a factor.

"I like cheese..." Daze muttered, talking in his sleep. "Fine ass over here...." Daze mumbled something for a bit and those words were audible in the midst of the mumbles.

Like a rock.

"Good, cause we are the best," Machi stated matter of fact like in Pooches saying that he liked them. As they were talking though, Machi had the feeling that Daze wasn't having that good of a time, that there was something on his mind. She didn't know what it was, considering that she couldn't read minds or anything. Also, she was quite bad with reading people as well, as she was still new to the world.

"Daze and I talk all the time, I even know the other Daze that isn't here," Machi replied to the comment, sitting on a stool by where Daze was, watching the man. She wondered what dream the man was having now, considering the words the man was making seemed to wander all the time. The subjects didn't make sense, and Machi wasn't one for connecting lines on abstract thoughts like dream speech.

Cheese was pretty good. Roots couldn't blame Daze for that one. Cheese was likely one of the human races greatest accomplishments. Thoughts from a Saiyan.

Machi's usual confidence broke through. If Daze was teaching her one thing, it was how to be herself. Maybe...maybe that was all it took to be happy. Roots never even remembered a time that he was sad.

But...something the Majin said struck the Saiyan as very odd. He wasn't surprised by the fact that Machi and Daze spoke to each other, it was that Machi spoke to the other Daze. One that...wasn't here.

Roots glanced down at the sleeping human. Neither of them were really there, at least right then.

"What...what do you mean, Machi? Who...who is other Daze, wh-where is he?" he scowled softly, stuttering. He had an odd feeling, a thick lump in the bottom of his stomach.

Daze
"Mmm... Wings... Mouth... Yeah," he muttered, rolling onto his stomach, sleeping with his butt slightly poking upwards.

Roots doesn't want to know. Only every other word he said was audible. Something about Wings, mouth and general sounds of enjoyment. It could be about food, a person or who knows what.

...

Okay we know what it's about.

As Machi watched Daze sleep and mutter stuff about his dreams, she realized that this was the longest conversation she had without Daze there since she was created. Well, Daze was here, but he wasn't there enough to make a difference on the conversation. Rather, Roots was talking to her about things, and she as giving input based on only her own thoughts. It was different, and different was good sometimes.

"The other Daze is Daze, duh," Machi started, wondering why Pooches asked that question. Machi had even said that it was Daze, Pooches wasn't following along that well. "He is in the purple thing, where he can think without the blue stuff," Machi explained, figuring that she was doing quite the good job at it. It all made sense to her, and that was all that mattered.

He knew, but he didn't give a fuck. The Saiyan sucked down the last bit of the bottle, feeling a good swing of alcohol finally hit his system. He wobbled slightly, but kept his cool. It was a good thing he was drunk.

Roots might have been a Saiyan, but he had developed this logic: to communicate with Daze or Machi on an efficient level, you had to be almost as fucked up as they were. Roots was accomplishing that goal right then.

It occurred to Roots that talking to Machi was like talking to a child. At least the other Daze was Daze. There were no doppelgangers, or mystical dimension demons. Other Daze was in the purple thing. In the purple thing, Daze could think without all the blue stuff.

.....

"Bruce, another, please," The Saiyan said. He wasn't nearly close enough yet. He was not operating on the same level. This bottle was tequila, and he would perhaps share part of it with Machi. He took a long swig, and then coughed. A good start. If there was one creature that would outdrink them all, it would be Machi.

"D-damn fruit flavor," He muttered. He caught himself, and spoke. He was laughing, softly.

"Machi, can we...can we go to the purple place?"

Daze
Daze had no words to mutter this time. He was too busy getting his mouth moist. Something about talking a lot in your sleep in a desert made one's mouth very dry. In fact, his mouth being dry caused the man to sit up and look around at the two of them.

"I'm thirsty..." he barely said, eyes still closed.

He looked around with only one eye open to see Machi. He smiled at his bubble-hum companion. She was always there with him. Keeping an eye out for him. Her mere presence made him feel better knowing there was always someone to put up with his shit.

and that's when he saw Roots.

"'Ey Fucker, didn't expect to see you're waggity ass here today," Daze said with a rhaspy voice in a jesting manner. Hell he even made up a word to reference the fact that Roots had a tail.
