Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

What are, "Mates"?; Daze, Machi

Roots
"Here...h-here we go," He muttered softly to himself. He was wearing his armor, fuck yeah he was. He had no idea if this thing was going to really, really work. He was paranoid with Daze being close, the readings from that guy's arms, and those gems, were fucking terrifying sometimes.

Not even to mention the dense magical being that was Machi. He took a long swig from his bottle of vodka, finishing off about a fourth of it. He'd need to be already a little lubed to catch up with his friends. Maybe he'd get a chance to talk to Daze about Angeles. Was there even a point? The dude couldn't remember anything.

Roots wasn't even sure if Daze liked him. The same went for Machi. They were a pretty violent pair at times, but they didn't incite the violence. He couldn't ever say they had. They were assholes, but they tipped well and paid their dues.

The Saiyan liked them.

Unfortunately, Bruce would be pretty pissed at Roots. His aim had been off, so as lighting and swirling tornado of dust (Bad on Bruce for never sweeping the damn bar) and a bright flash of colors exploded, Roots sent several chairs and tables flying in every which direction in the magical human's favorite hideout. His teleportation remote had been a success, at least that day. Not as easy as wizards, but...

Roots was coughing, waving away the smoke, but they were there. What good timing. The dust settled, and he took a step forward. Before he could speak, Bruce did.

"Damnit, Daze, this guy!? This one's the weird one! And now he's teleporting, too?"

Mystic Machi
Just as Machi was about to answer the question for Pooches, Daze awoke from his sleep. After his greeting to the man, Machi had something very important to say to Daze. Probably the most important thing the man would hear all day.

"Daze! Pooches is buying drinks!"

Turning back to Pooches after delivering the message, Machi thought about the answer she was about to give. It took her a few moments, but she was able to come up with something. "I can't, maybe Daze can take you to Daze," The answer made sense to Machi, so it was golden.

Roots
Daze spoke again, and to most, it would have perhaps sounded like more of his half-asleep droning, but to Roots, the change in his voice was enough to let him know he was awake. Thirsty, eh? He'd be able to meet the human with something he'd enjoy.

The Saiyan grinned, a shit-eating grin that he learned from the human himself. He offered him the bottle of tequila, which still had at least two-thirds of the fruit drink inside. Machi cried out, and then addressed the Saiyan's question.

Roots was a little drunk, but this was something...this was something. He could tell. Maybe it was something stupid, but maybe it was something...really stupid and funny.

"Drink up, bud. Good morning, afternoon, and night," He laughed. He continued speaking, quickly. He was giggling, softly. Part of him was expecting this to be some great joke.

"C-can you take me to...'Other Daze?"
he asked.

Daze
"Shit yea," Daze replied to Machi with a grin.

He reached out for the bottle Roots offered and began to drink immediately, downing the whole thing. A loud pleasurable gasp escaped his mouth before he wiped the residue off of his face with his forearm.

"Eh, already?" Daze laughed. "This shit travels fast you know... but we gotta go do this outside. I don't want to kidnap half of the fuckin' bar," he laughed, pulling himself up to his feet.

He stumbled, walking towards the door and tripping over his own feet. There was no knowing how long he had been asleep. It could have been for minutes, hours or even days. He was slightly sleep deprived, still slightly drunk and he immediately started drinking again. But he managed to make it outside falling straight onto his ass.

"You two let me know when you're ready," he laughed, waiting for his two mates.

Mystic Machi
Seems like the conversation had shifted to be between Pooches and Daze, which made Machi a little upset. She understood though, considering that Machi wasn't able to do what Pooches wanted her to do. Maybe if she looked into the teleporting she might have been able to, but not at the moment.

"Okay," Machi replied to Daze, as she got up and flew towards the outside of the bar after Daze. Unlike the other two, alcohol actually didn't disable Machi, it just made her act differently. While sometimes she wished she could have the other effects, this wasn't one of those times. Machi didn't like falling over.

"I'm ready Daze!" Machi exclaimed to the man who had fallen down. Machi herself landed on the ground in front of Daze and sat cross legged, waiting for whatever to happen to happen.

What...what was this? Some sort of joke? Roots was still laughing softly. Kidnap half the bar? What was Daze talking about? The human stumbled to his feet, and then by some miracle, managed to make it to the door.

At least the dude made it outside before he fell on his butt. Roots got another bottle from Bruce, a nice selection, of whiskey. He walked out the door, not stumbling, but definitely not as quick on his feet as usual.

"Yeah, I...I guess I'm ready," He let out another laugh, taking a good swig of whiskey.

Poor, poor, drunk Roots.

Daze
"Right right, this trick kind of sucks for me," Daze laughed taking in a deep breath.

His head jerked up, looking off in the distance. His eyes sparked alight with purple flames replacing what was normally there. The blue orbs in his arms violently lit up as well, engulfing his body. The very ground beneath them began to crack and rip open as the three of them were sucked into a large purple fade... but it was more like a vortex.

And just like that the three of them were gone.

Of course by gone they were in another dimension, a pocket dimension to be precise. Floating in what looked like an endless abyss of black and purple. It was subtle and easy on the eyes... minus the fact that there was no gravity, wind or abundance of light. In fact it was a mystery that they were able to breath in here.

"Welcome Roots," a calm voiced Daze called out, floating upright at a 75 degree with his arms behind his head.

Mystic Machi
Sitting on the ground as Pooches said he was ready, Machi was ready for the portal that was going to appear. Though she had only gone through it once in her life, she knew it, so she could prepare. it was still weird going through it, not much could be done to cross into a different place of existence.

When they appeared, Machi used her Ki to spin herself upside down. Since there wasn't much resistance in this space, she would keep on spinning. It was interesting to do weird stuff in this space, considering it wasn't the normal world. Rather, it was the world in which Daze could become the other Daze. Honestly, Machi was surprised that the outside Daze knew enough to become the inside Daze.

"Roots? Oh yeah," Machi stated, looking towards Roots, "This is purple Daze." Machi introduced, still spinning in the space. After the introduction, Machi figured that they would ignore her again, but oh well, she was used to it. She understood it, she usually didn't have much to add to conversations.

Roots
"Kind of sucks...?" A very bad feeling smashed into Roots' center core. Panic suddenly whipped up into every vein in his body. He swore that he could literally hear the fire explode in the man's eyes. The orbs in his veins surged with energy, bright light forming around his body. The ground itself shook in fear of the dimensional power Daze had hold of.

If anybody was watching, they would have heard Roots screaming "Hooooooollly fuuuu-" Just like that. He was cut off, violently.

"Uuuuuck!" He let out once on the other side. He panicked, swiveling around in the air. he was falling! He let out a small yelp, flipping around in the air, and soon found some sort of uneasy balance as he grabbed both of his knees. The Saiyan continued to circle in the air.

And then he heard Daze speak.

His eyes narrowed in on the human, and his calmness seeped into Roots. The Saiyan felt his ki and positioned himself to where he could see the human. His eyes flew to Machi for a moment, and then back to Daze.

Here they were. This was...other Daze. Purple Daze.

"Uhm...hello,"
The Saiyan sheepishly murmured. He glanced down at his hand gripping the bottle of vodka, which had turned white from his fear driven grip. He very quickly brought it to his lips, muttering words of relief.

"I...I...where....what...."
Was what he managed after a long drink.

Daze
"To answer your first question... I can only guess," he said, not moving from his relaxed position. "I've deduced it's some sort of dimension. I am unsure if I've created it myself or stumbled upon it. Angeles proposed that I found it, but there's no conclusive evidence for either case," Daze sighed, slightly frustrated with not knowing.

"As for what I assume you mean what happened to us specifically or what causes my change in demeanor?" Daze asked rhetorically. "My magic interferes with my mind. It fogs my memories, my ability to focus or pay attention. Time seems to go at an increased rate for me. It's frustrating and often causes me to act impatiently, impulsively and sometimes aggressively," he sighed. "For that I must apologize Roots. I've probably been a dick to you in the past," he apologized, wanting to be clear that he doesn't do it on purpose.

"Oh, Machi. I'm glad you're here. How are you my darling?" Daze looked up for the first time, with one eye closed to see her.

Still spinning in her slow circles, she was a bit amused watching Roots and Daze turn slowly in her perspective They turned upside down, then righted themselves as she turned. Machi enjoyed the little things, until she developed better tastes in life anyways.

"Machi is good," she replied looking at Daze, "Living life, having fun, all good." Her answer was short and to the point, Machi was doing alright in her life. She had Daze to keep her company and to do fun stuff with. If that wasn't good, then she didn't want good.

Other Daze was certainly a lot different than...regular Daze. The man spoke, and confirmed that Angeles had already been here. So it wasn't some sort of party dimension, his lover had been here and made it back, so...Roots let out a quick sigh of relief. The half-drunken Saiyan was almost sure he'd be spending the rest of his mortal life in a void with a Zenned-Out Daze and Machi.

He went on, explaining his mood, too. The man was afflicted, fogging his memories and his ability to function. It was the root of his aggressive behaviors and impulsive outbursts. It actually...made a lot of sense.

Roots' eyes came up and met Daze's with an actual...confused look as he apologized, and then as the master of this universe and the pink one spoke, Roots had time to process a few things. His buzz was quickly deteriorating, being dragged into another dimension kind of sucked the fun out of being drunk.

...

Roots still took a long swig from his bottle,

"Actually, Daze, if I'm being honest..." He began, scratching his face.

"You're...fucking crazy, yeah. You curse like a sailor, drink like a Saiyan, and party like...well, nobody fucking parties like you. But man, you're...both of you guys are my fucking friends. You guys have had my back before, and although you've done some really crazy shit (mainly teleporting the Saiyan across the planet) I can't say that I regret being your...um, mate," Referring to Daze that way in here felt...odd. He wanted to say friend.

Daze
"I'm glad to hear that Machi. I enjoyed your last visit a great deal," Daze smiled, thinking about what had happened last time he saw Machi in the Fade Realm.

Roots had a lot to say to Daze. It was all nice things. It did make him feel bad as he knew he was an inconvenience on people at times. He tried his best not to drag people down or cause them harm. He really, truly did.

"I feel the same way Roots. You're one of my first mates... friends I mean," Daze smiled.

That's all he ever meant by mates, was friends. Unless he was fuckin' the person, then it had another meaning. Sometimes in Daze's world the words best friends, or mates, get's redefined.

Kind of like his relations with Angeles, Ran, Azuki and Machi.

All his mates... some more so than others and in other ways than others. Other than that all his mates were the same... or other stuff. Other.

Mystic Machi
"Yeah, it was fun," Machi remembered the first time she met purple Daze, when they were in the glacier and fell into the vortex for some strange reason. Things went well, they talked, had some alcohol, then had fun times. Though, she couldn't remember yet how those fun times ended, as they haven't played out yet.

Smiling a bit at Roots and Daze's back and forth, she was happy that they liked each other. When they were at the bar a long time ago, Machi had thought that Roots would take things the other way, that they wouldn't be friends. It was close, but things had turned out alright, somehow.

Machi stopped her circling, looking at the two people who were friends. They were her friends as well, but this conversation was more about the two of them then it was about Machi. That was alright, Machi knew that Roots knew Daze before she had, that they had something she didn't with Daze.

"I like you too Roots," Machi stated after realizing that Roots had said that she was his friend as well. While they hadn't had much time to talk by themselves without crazy stuff happening, she was glad they were friends.

The Saiyan nodded, managing a grin. He glanced over at Machi, giving her a nod and smile as well. His eyes floated around the purple world they were in for a moment, taking in everything. It was...was it really there? He brought the bottle to his lips again, taking a good good swig.

"So, alright, I've a few questions," He began. He had some...concerns.

"Exactly how much do you remember about me? Because if the Daze out there is not the...real Daze, I...well, honestly, Daze, I'd want to try and help you,"

Daze
"I remember a great deal of things Roots... it appears my subconscious picks up where my main consciousness lacks off. While here I can remember the events that played out on the other side in detail... for the most part," he smiled. "I remember how we first met, I remember the drinking contest with Zuus and I remember when we fought the strange face suckers in that facility," he amended, giving examples of his time spent with Roots.

"I miss Azuki sometimes... she just fell off the face of the Earth. I can't even trace her anymore. I hope she's not dead," Daze sighed.

Azuki was Daze's first non-Earthling experience. It wasn't particularly special outside of that, but it was a connection. Especially since they beat each others' face in before making said connection. Good times.

"I'm not sure if I can be helped, not without severing my connection to the magic within me at least," Daze noted. "You and Angeles are good friends... both of you are trying to help so much," Daze sat up completely, floating with his legs crossed. "You too Machi, you're amazing," he said, looking over at her spinning.

Paying some attention to the conversation, Machi knew a lot of what Daze was going to say already. The two of them had a good talk the last time she had been brought here, which happened to be her first time. She knew that Daze remembered a lot of what happened, that purple Daze had all the experience. Purple Daze and outside Daze could be considered different people, but they drew from a lot of the same experiences. Outside Daze just acted on less thought.

"I do my best," Machi stated, a grand smile on her face. Machi's intuition told her that Daze was probably feeling a bit sad at this point. If she read things correctly, purple Daze seemed to be more sad than not, considering his situation. To remedy this, Machi flew towards Daze, and attempted to give the man a flying tackle/hug.

So Daze remembered more in here than out there. The Saiyan nodded, grinning as the mystic human recollected some of their times together. They first met through Azuki, who was a whole different story by herself. Roots still swore that drinking contest was rigged (it was run by a man who had likely almost forgotten what being sober was). And the face-suckers. Who could forget the fuckin' face-suckers.

Roots smiled, pointing at Machi.

"This one was here for those Face-Suckers!"
He laughed. The actual mention of Azuki formed the Saiyan's grin into a small frown. He hadn't seen the female Saiyan in some time either. He nodded a few more times as the man mentioned Angeles, and then complimented Machi, too.

And then Roots was silent for a few moments, thinking. His mind was already racing, and now he had questions. He felt he had pinged the man for inquiries enough, though. If Angeles had been there, he could talk to her about what she knew.

He let out a laugh as the Majin rushed her master. He floated over closer to the both of them, still chuckling.

"So is this what you guys do for fun in here? Just wrestle and fight?" he glanced around in every direction, frowning softly.

"Can't really blame you, I guess,"

Daze
Daze cheered right up when Machi went to glomp him. Of course the term glomp was completely alien to Daze and likely Machi. It was just nice to have a emotional connection that he could tolerate. Outside emotions were complicated. Well, all of them outside of Anger were complicated. Anger was easy.

"Actually... most of my time spent here involves conversations, it's easier for me to converse here so I do my best to take advantage of the situation," he smiled, hugging onto Machi.

"We have... shared a moment however," he said, rather hesitantly.

It was unlike him to be so shy about his experiences. He was normally loud, brash and obnoxious. Normal Daze'd likely point to Machi's crotch and scream, "I PUT IT RIGHT FUCKIN' THERE!!!" or something equally absurd.

Her attempt to make Daze a bit happier seemed to have been a success, as Purple Daze appeared to be a bit happier now in their hug. Getting hugged by Daze reminded her of the last time they had been in this world, and his warmth was always a good thing. Hugging the man a bit tighter, Machi let out a sigh of content. She felt she could simply hug the man to the end of her life.

"Talking is... okay. But having the fun, is more fun," Machi commented after Daze said they had shared a moment. The time they shared last time wasn't going to be going away any time soon, as it had been a great time.

"Oh! Should I make a room Daze?" Machi asked her master, catching on that Roots didn't think there was much to do in this place. Though, since they weren't moving, they wouldn't have an artificial gravity to keep them on the floor of said room.

Roots
All Roots could do was nod. It was still so surreal, a version of Daze that he could communicate with. But yet, it was still the same Daze. A weak barrier separated the two in mind, but a massive dimensional barrier separated the two physically. And...in a dimensional way, too.

It was at that moment that the Engineer in Roots began to work, but was silent, in the background. And it started with but a single question...how could this Daze be brought into the real world?

Between his personal thoughts, he almost missed what Daze dropped-some sort of personal moment between Daze and Machi? He was silent for a moment, and then brought his head back and his mouth opened in a wide circle as he understood.

What he did not understand was the mention of a room. A...room? The Saiyan looked around, almost relieved he was not in a situation to make some sort of comment. He actually blushed softly.

"Uh...yeah, a room would...be cool," He glanced away from the both of them for a moment, the thought of Daze and Angeles crossing his mind. He frowned.
