Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. What are, "Mates"?; Daze, Machi

Roots
"Here...h-here we go," He muttered softly to himself. He was wearing his armor, fuck yeah he was. He had no idea if this thing was going to really, really work. He was paranoid with Daze being close, the readings from that guy's arms, and those gems, were fucking terrifying sometimes.

Not even to mention the dense magical being that was Machi. He took a long swig from his bottle of vodka, finishing off about a fourth of it. He'd need to be already a little lubed to catch up with his friends. Maybe he'd get a chance to talk to Daze about Angeles. Was there even a point? The dude couldn't remember anything.

Roots wasn't even sure if Daze liked him. The same went for Machi. They were a pretty violent pair at times, but they didn't incite the violence. He couldn't ever say they had. They were assholes, but they tipped well and paid their dues.

The Saiyan liked them.

Unfortunately, Bruce would be pretty pissed at Roots. His aim had been off, so as lighting and swirling tornado of dust (Bad on Bruce for never sweeping the damn bar) and a bright flash of colors exploded, Roots sent several chairs and tables flying in every which direction in the magical human's favorite hideout. His teleportation remote had been a success, at least that day. Not as easy as wizards, but...

Roots was coughing, waving away the smoke, but they were there. What good timing. The dust settled, and he took a step forward. Before he could speak, Bruce did.

"Damnit, Daze, this guy!? This one's the weird one! And now he's teleporting, too?"

Daze
"Yeah, a Room would be splendid. You've had a lot of practice since last time. It's not hard at all for you anymore?" Daze questioned with a smile.

He was proud of Machi. She's accomplished so much in her life. Actually, he was quite proud of Roots too. He's done so much with his life since he landed on Earth. He's become noble at heart in his own way. Always doing the right thing and looking out for his friends.

Although he has a temper. Such a Saiyan temper.

Mystic Machi
"Yep! I make stuff a lot better now!" Machi exclaimed, floating away from Daze a bit and holding her arms out to her sides. Gathering her Ki, Machi felt out the space around them, and sent out her energy. The energy solidified into a construction, a single room in the vast fade.

The room was fairly simple in design, a fifteen foot square that housed some simple furniture. For the furniture, there was a sofa, a singular chair, and a good sized bed. Unlike last time, Machi included some windows, and a singular door.

"So, what do you two think?" Machi asked, floating down to the floor and sitting upon it.

He cleared his mind quickly. Something about a massive void just...pushed everything from the Saiyan's mind every couple of minutes. This defied everything he had learned about physics, science, and the way the world was supposed to work. It took him awhile to get capsules, but this? He wasn't sure if he would ever get this.

Machi brought him back. He had been spacing out. The room she created from her energy alone almost made him jump. The room was lovely, to be honest. Furnished beautifully, along with windows that only reminded Roots they were in the void.

And of course, the Majin made the wonderful room and then decided to sit on the floor. Roots went for the chair, assuming that Daze would go straight for the sofa (maybe even the bed).

"This is...this is incredible," He nodded at the Majin.

"I...I wish I could do stuff like this. It's just ki, I know, but I don't know how you do this stuff..."

Daze
"Machi is special. She can do a lot of things that you or I are simply incapable of doing. I'm still perplexed as to how her body works entirely much less her abilities," Daze chuckled.

He descended down, moving his way to the bed and laid on his back, spread eagle. Comfort and bliss was something he commonly experienced here. He could just lay down and not move if he didn't want to. Laziness however was also a problem here. Since he was able to stay at rest, he often did. It was a slight drawback.

"The bed is incredibly comfortable. Remind me to ask you to make me a new bed when we get out Machi. Mine is awful and likely older than I am," Daze laughed to himself. "So, Roots. What were you pondering? I noticed you were in deep thought," Daze asked, still laying down.

"I can do that, no problem," Machi replied to Daze about the bed. After spending a lot of time making things with her Ki, she had gotten quite good at it. This room was a testament to that, not even feeling worn out by creating this room. The last time she created a room, it was a lot more difficult.

"Roots, I can teach you if you want. You just gotta make the boom stuff into the stuff... stuff. Easy peasy." After watching Daze flop onto the bed, Machi decided to join the man. Floating into the air, Machi moved over the bed and landed herself on Daze's outstretched right limbs.

Looking at Roots, Machi awaited the response the person would give Daze.

Roots
He shivered. It wasn't cold, though. At least there was solace for Roots in Daze's lack of knowledge about her being. That certainly puzzled him, but in the same vein revealed more to Roots about the connection between the Daze that existed in this realm, and the one that existed in the 'real' world.

He shivered, again.

Machi's response to Roots' admiration of her creative abilities elicited a warm grin, but it was Daze's question that trumped him for a few moments. He wasn't exactly sure how to put it, and he took just a moment to find the words.

"I'm...I'm honestly trying to figure out what exactly this place is. It's some sort of parallel plane to the world we live in. There's atmosphere, but no gravity," He shook his head and nodded, grinning at the magical human.

"And I'm thinking about ways to manipulate fade portals and...pocket dimensions like this with technology. My teleportation remote works on the same theories..." He trailed off, and his palm in front of him opened up, a flicker of a small orb of ki appearing in his hands. He repeated what the Majin said.

"Make the boom stuff...into stuff stuff,"
He began to laugh, heartily.

Daze
"It's difficult to say. Here is definitely not the here we are used to. Some kind of wibbly... wobbly timey wimey place," Daze mumbled, looking over at Machi who had just opted into laying onto his arm. He happily wrapped it around her.

It was true though. This place was another dimension in both time and space. Daze hasn't even thought that time could even flow differently here. It was likely, just not likely to be a significant amount. Not that he ever measured time outside of here anyway or would remember to do so for experimental purposes anyways.

"Roots, you're not able to talk science with many people... are you?" Daze asked, feeling sorry for Pooches.

It was good to be grabbed by Daze, the man's presence in this world was quite amazing. Some might think that it was because she was bound to him, and that she had to protect and serve. But no, that wasn't it, Machi sincerely enjoyed the man's company, who he was. Sometimes she wondered if she was the only one who liked the Daze in both worlds, considering most didn't know about this one.

"Yep, boom stuff, into the stuff stuff," Machi stated again, nodding her head as if it was the only explanation she needed to give. Stuff came naturally for the Majin, she didn't need to think about how stuff worked, only that they did for what she needed. Her ability to fly, blast, creating stuff, that was all inherent knowledge.

"What is Science?" Machi asked, figuring it had something to do with what Roots was talking about. There were some things that Machi had some knowledge about without being told, this wasn't one of those things.

Roots
While the master of this universe, Daze offered literally almost no insight into where or when they were, although that perhaps indeed it was a matter of both where and when.

That terrified Roots even more. The human got comfortable, and had a question. Machi had a question as well, and Roots would get a two-for-one.

"Science is...science is how things work. Why does the boom stuff turn into the stuff stuff? How? Where does the Boom Stuff go?" He grinned, nodding at Machi.

"Science is like magic. Except the rules are a little bit better defined," He let out a small chuckle, and then shook his head. His grin would have made the human proud.

"Wrong, Daze. I'm talking about science right now. ...With friends,"

"Or Mates," he chuckled, referencing his outer persona.

It was true that Roots was talking science with the two of them now. But Daze doubted Roots really and truly got to delve into it with another person. Engineers are so rare in this world. It's a rough, tough and gritty planet. Once thriving. A time Daze has only heard about. Like a place of fairy tales. It was sad and amazing at the same time.

"I mean, Roots, you don't get to talk Science with people who would understand or comprehend what you're talking about. My experience with technology is driving a car and working a boom box," Daze laughed. "It must be frustrating to not find any peers who are on your level," Daze frowned, likely touching an unknown nerve.

Roots was asking questions Machi wasn't prepared to answer. Her first act of creation had happened when she wanted something to drink so long ago. Her desire to drink, and her lack of drink, had led her to create one. Ever since then, she had just expanded on her creation ability.

"I dunno," Machi replied, giving Roots a shrug, "You just got to... uh, want it to not boom? Want it to be something else instead." The answer given, Machi shrugged, not really knowing any better way to explain it. It was all through her will that it was done, that was all that she knew.

"Or mates," He quickly corrected himself.

Daze wasn't wrong. He couldn't talk the theories, he couldn't talk the math, he couldn't talk the tech work, but he could talk the concepts. Sometimes, that was the most important part. He was wrong on one account. he did have...or had, perhaps, a peer to talk tech with.

Angeles made good company too, occasionally, but her understanding of the technical world was a fascinating one. What was more fascinating was Machi's understanding of magic creation and ki. The fact she was an expert on execution and everything but on theory was certainly amusing to Roots.

"There's a few people I can talk tech with. Celeste, Angeles, sometimes Soonbas. I've met a few Techie Faeries, as well,"
He grinned.

"You guys ever seen a fairy?"

"Surprisingly, I have..." Daze laughed. "I met this crazy little thing named Sparks and his companion Android V. I somehow got caught in a tree from a fade portal mishap and they rescued me," Daze continued.

"Why I didn't just fade out of there or try to contact Machi for help is beyond me," Daze shook his head in shame. Mostly in shame of his outer self. "Sometimes I disappoint me," he continued on for a moment.

"Angeles and Soonbas I know... but Celeste. She sounds familiar... I don't think I know her though," Daze continued, trying to think about the past. Even in here, it was difficult. Mostly because of his clouded memories and lack of focus. It's hard to remember what you weren't paying attention to. He relies mostly on what his subconscious deemed to be important.

"What is a Fairy?" Machi asked, wondering what exactly it was. She knew that it was a being of some kind, but had an idea that it was different than she was. Like Daze was a human, and that Roots was a tailed person. There were a lot of different types, and Machi needed to learn them all at some point. Maybe a Fairy was something similar to Wings, she could hope, wings were neat.

"Oh! I need to think of a way to find you Daze, leaving me behind all the time, it sucks," Machi commented, thinking back to the times that the man just went off. The magic inside of her drove the Majin to always be with the master, to protect an serve. She wasn't quite capable of doing such a thing if she wasn't with him, now was she?

"I should learn the purple... circle moving thing you do, so I can follow you around." Machi had a feeling that she should know the name of the ability, but it escaped her at the moment. She was fairly certain that they might tell her at this point, considering they most likely knew what she was talking about.

"Ah, Spark," A familiar name. The Saiyan knew a handful of faeries, but rarely saw any of them. It was easy to imagine the fairy getting Daze out of a bind, but Android V was not a familiar name. He was puzzled for just a second.

At least Daze was confused, too. In here, that meant something. Machi's question caught him for a moment, but her attention span soon brought her to the fact that Daze was a teleporting magician. Roots shifted for a moment, grinning.

"Fading sure is convenient. You know who are really good at fading?...Faeries," He nodded. He found himself a little more relaxed-there was indeed something cozy about the inter-dimensional cabin in the woods.

"Learning how to Fade would make it easier for you to follow me Machi. I'm sorry for leaving you so often. When I make decisions out there it's more like... impulses. Rather than stopping and thinking about what I'm doing, I just do. Who it effects isn't something that crosses my mind," Daze apologized.

"And I think I can rival any fairy with the Fade spell. After all, this realm is based on it... I think," Daze laughed, not knowing exactly how it's done.

"It is okay Daze, just a little hard sometimes," she replied, in reference to the magic that bound her to him. She didn't even know if he knew the full extent the magic drove her, and it wasn't something she was going to tell him either. She didn't want him to worry about her anymore than he possibly did at the moment.

Grasping at the straws of magical knowledge inside of herself, Machi felt that she could learn the spell if she put her mind to it. The spell would be invaluable to her task as protector and servant, but she didn't think she needed it right now. There was the teleport that she could use right now, that would have to suffice for now.

"What do faeries look like?" Machi asked, neither of them explaining what a fairy was in the first place. Maybe if she knew what they looked like, she might gain some insight into what they were.

Fucking Daze, man.

"This world is...based on Fade?"

He was gone in thought. Daze was talking about fading versus faeries, and Machi was forgiving her master for being such a teleporting asshole. He was so deep he almost didn't hear the Majin's question, and he shook himself back into the alternate plain of reality.

"See, that's the thing. They change their size. They change their shape. They can be anything, anyone. But sometimes they revert to a...some kind of default, form, I guess. They're small, and they have big heads. He glanced over at Machi, and laughed.

"And big noses!" He chuckled for a moment, and then decided it was his turn to ask a question.

"Daze...what happens when you get drunk...in here?"

"Well, we experimented with that if I recall correctly. Well, sort of," Daze digressed. "It works on me here similarly to the outside version of me... just less chaos. I function like a normal adult, well. Whatever normal is, I suppose," Daze rambled.

"And yes, Fairies are quite odd. I have only seen them in their default form... I think," Daze chuckled. "Speaking of, I remember you being able to change forms Roots. I've never asked. What's up with that?" he questioned.

"Woha..." Machi let out, thinking about what the faeries looked like. Small, big heads, and big noses. She certainly wanted to see one now, to get a clear image in her head about what they looked like. Sure, she could just imagine everyone around her with little bodies and big heads, which was a good solution.

"Roots can change forms?" Machi asked, the first time hearing of it. She had met the dog Roots before, but, she never figured out that the dog had been Roots.
