Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. What are, "Mates"?; Daze, Machi

Roots
"Here...h-here we go," He muttered softly to himself. He was wearing his armor, fuck yeah he was. He had no idea if this thing was going to really, really work. He was paranoid with Daze being close, the readings from that guy's arms, and those gems, were fucking terrifying sometimes.

Not even to mention the dense magical being that was Machi. He took a long swig from his bottle of vodka, finishing off about a fourth of it. He'd need to be already a little lubed to catch up with his friends. Maybe he'd get a chance to talk to Daze about Angeles. Was there even a point? The dude couldn't remember anything.

Roots wasn't even sure if Daze liked him. The same went for Machi. They were a pretty violent pair at times, but they didn't incite the violence. He couldn't ever say they had. They were assholes, but they tipped well and paid their dues.

The Saiyan liked them.

Unfortunately, Bruce would be pretty pissed at Roots. His aim had been off, so as lighting and swirling tornado of dust (Bad on Bruce for never sweeping the damn bar) and a bright flash of colors exploded, Roots sent several chairs and tables flying in every which direction in the magical human's favorite hideout. His teleportation remote had been a success, at least that day. Not as easy as wizards, but...

Roots was coughing, waving away the smoke, but they were there. What good timing. The dust settled, and he took a step forward. Before he could speak, Bruce did.

"Damnit, Daze, this guy!? This one's the weird one! And now he's teleporting, too?"

Roots
Normal adult.

Roots just laughed, and for several seconds. His giggling went on for awhile after that, too, while Daze and Machi talked about faeries. He did however stop, and abruptly at that when the conversation shifted to his ability to change forms.

"Uh..." He scratched the top of his head.

"If I'm being totally honest, I'm not one-hundred percent sure what it is. It's magical in nature, or...or I'm led to believe," He shifted, getting a little more comfortable.

"That's why I'm Pooches...right?" He laughed, again.

Daze
"Now now... you know that's not fair. We have someone who doesn't know what you're talking about here Pooches," Daze jested with a shit eating grin on his face.

His outside persona was beginning to show.

"Machi hasn't seen you do it. Granted, I haven't either, but I have an active imagination. Give the girl a demonstration," he prodded, teasing Roots into showing his ability to go dog at will.

Mystic Machi
Blinking a few times, Machi looked back and forth between Pooches and Daze, wondering what they were talking about. Obviously, there was a secret between them that Machi wasn't privy to. But, by the sounds of it, she was going to be shown it in a little bit here, if Roots agreed.

"Yeah, show me! I want to see it!" Machi exclaimed, staring at Roots wondering what amazement she was about to see. Something about changing what he looked like, but Machi couldn't fathom it. Sure, Daze got bigger when he did the thing with the colors, but that was about all she's seen. Well, besides changing herself, but that was a different story, Machi knew she was special.

Roots
Maybe this was the same guy. He definitely looked like Daze. He was reminded that Machi had never seen it;he was wrong. Machi perhaps had seen it at the wall when the Saiyans attacked, but then again Daze likely hadn't seen it either. Their attention spans rivaled almost nil.

Either way, the Majin was now excited to see whatever it was Roots was going to turn into. He let out a cough and sat up off of his chair, moving over to a clearer spot in the room.

"Alright, here...here goes," Sadly, he was well-experienced in this. He hated it, but it was useful. At times. His body rapidly and violently twitched as bones and muscles shifted, and hair rapidly grew on his body. He fell closer to the ground suddenly, and was silent.

His clothes shuffled, and from them, Roots emerged, not himself, but a large dog. Perhaps more like a wolf, the characteristics were borrowed from both species. One thing was clear, however. Lupine.

"This is it. The one and only, Pooches. Never seen a talking dog before, right?"

Daze
"Oh Shit! I was talking about you being a small friendly dog. I didn't know you could do this!" Daze exclaimed, sitting up in awe. "You're a full on lyncontrhope of some kind!" Daze jested, barely knowing the term from old movie posters he's seen in city ruins.

"Do you howl at the full moon too?" he continued, likely picking on Roots too much.

But that's what Mates do. They give each other a hard time.

Daze just hoped his new form didn't give him a short temper.

Mystic Machi
Watching Pooches change, at first, it appeared to be something weird that the man was changing into. Then, it became something much better. A look of sheer excitement was on Machi's face as she realized what they had been talking about. This was really similar to the animal from that one time, the amazing beast that was dog!

"That's amazing!" Machi yelled out, doing more than just sit up. Rather, she flew off the bed towards the now animal Roots. She didn't know why, but seeing Roots like this was amazing, and made Machi quite happy.

"You should just stay like this forever!" Machi would state after an attempt to tackle Roots.

Roots
He was glad it had been easy. Sometimes it hurt, and took a few minutes lingers, but the Wolf's body was fluid that day. A matter of stretching, maybe. Daze's words were a little off but it was at least certain to Roots that Daze was still Daze in here. He let out a laugh (interesting to note that a large canine-like figure laughing is a little weird) and that was enough to keep him off guard enough for the excited Majin to slam into him.

"Heyoooo!" He let out, a combination of surprise and excitement. In so many ways she acted just like a child-it made Roots happy. Her tackle did not take him off his feet but after several moments of shuffling she would likely end up on top of him like a mount.

Not to say it wasn't appropriate; Roots in this canine form was large enough for any adult male to ride comfortably. He grinned.

"I'll show you what happens when I see a Full Moon some other time, Daze. That's an even bigger surprise,"

Daze
"I'd imagine you turn into a giant Wolf, right?" Daze spoiled the surprise. "You are a Saiyan, right?" he asked rhetorically. "Well... I fought a Saiyan named Cassi in her giant ape form. Toppled her over. I'm not entirely sure how I did it either. She was crazy powerful, but somehow I was able to over-power her," he said, focusing really hard on trying to remember the details.

"OH! That's right. We were standing on top of an underground cavern. When I knocked her into the ground it collapsed several hundred feet, burying us in a deep trench," Daze laughed. "Good times..." Daze reminisced.

"Sorry, I rambled.."

Mystic Machi
Indeed, Machi did find herself atop of the person known as Pooches. The thing Roots was being right now, was perhaps one of the greatest things Machi had discovered she liked on her own. Though, she hadn't had much time to interact with many of them, as Daze and Machi hadn't met many during their travels.

Leaning forward, Machi was now hugging the animal known as Roots, loving how he currently felt. All the hair on his body felt nice and soft, it was quite good for the Majin. At this point, she was barely listening to the conversation, but managed to catch the world giant.

"You can turn into a giant wolf?" Machi asked the person she was currently on top of. Her mind was awestruck at the thought of a giant wolf, it would just be too simply amazing.

Cassi.

Roots had met the girl before. Seen her at the wall. Watched her skewer a Saiyan with metal spikes. Either way, the story ended with Daze toppling an Oozaru. Considering it was a Daze who could actually remember, Roots was impressed. That was no small feat.

He laughed, shaking his head at the end of Daze's story. Machi weighed a little less than he thought she would have. It had been some time since he had shifted to the dog-form, and even more time since he remembered enjoying his time in it.

"I can turn into a giant wolf, Machi," The wolf responded, taking a few steps forward around the room, passenger on-board.

"What's even better is I don't turn into a crazed beast when I do it, too. Did Cassi go berserk on you, Daze?"

Daze
"One hundred percent out of control... but to be fair... I sort of put her in an enraged state beforehand. So I doubt the end result would have been much different since she transformed willingly," Daze laughed, sitting upright to get a look at the mounted man-dog-wolf-beat... Pooches.

"I think I said something rude to her. I don't remember it too well, I was a bit intoxicated at the time," Daze scratched at the back of his head out of embarrassment. "You Saiyans have a short temper sometimes," he said, generalizing Roots' entire race.

So it was true, the animal that Roots was now was just the miniature version of the real thing. She could still barely imagine such at thing, looking at this animal but at a much bigger size. Imagining riding such a thing, this dream came to life a bit as Roots moved about the room a bit. This experience was just rocking the Majin's world.

"What are we waiting for?!" Machi exclaimed atop the moving wolf, "Become giant wolf! I want to see what you look like." Now, Machi just wanted to see what it looked like, and maybe ride atop that version as well. She was basically ignoring the conversation the others were having while going for her own interests.

As Daze spoke, if Roots could grin, he would have.

Controlling the Oozaru form was rare indeed, it seemed. The fight between Daze and Cassi had erupted because of a dirty comment the human made (not at all to Roots' surprise, Cassi was either sweet as a button or as enraged as...well, an Oozaru.)

He couldn't disagree with part of what Daze said-even Roots, who was actually a little less rage-filled than most Saiyans could easily be set into an enraged state that had both physical AND mental changes.

But the promise of a giant creature was too enticing to Machi, and she began to beg for Roots to show the both of them the form. He let out another laugh that only a dog could, and spoke.

"Well, I'd need to get out of this house. And...I'd need a full moon. Or I could use my..." The creature trailed off, unsure. If he could smirk, he would have.

"How do the two of you know I won't go berserk and kill the both of ya?" There was sarcasm in his voice. Machi would likely miss it, but perhaps Zen Daze would catch part of it.

Daze
"Come Roots, give me more credit than that. I've taken a full powered assault from you before and you couldn't even hurt me," Daze jested, returning Roots' sarcasm with his very own. "That day you, Azuki and I went on that adventure," Daze added, giving detail to the statement.

Of course, Daze wasn't wrong. Just, Roots was much more powerful now than he was then.

But so was Daze.

"I'm sure Machi can make accommodations to allow you to go into giant Wolf-Man mode. Worse case scenario, I Fade Machi and I out of here. We'll just leave you in this empty void until you calm down," Daze bluffed.

Well, sort of. He didn't know it was a bluff. Little did Daze know, this realm only existed while he was here. If he left, it expelled all others in it. It wasn't possible to use it as a prison. Not that Daze would. Well, outside Daze.

"You need more space?" Machi asked, giving the dog a questioning look. There as all the space you could ask for outside the house, and Machi didn't think she'd need to build anything for Roots to change. But, she would, since they apparently needed her to. Building things had gotten a lot easier for the Majin as of late.

"I'll make something big then," Machi simply stated, floating off of Roots and towards a wall. Touching the surface, Machi sent her ki into the building. There wasn't anything visible happening on this side of the wall, but, as she channeled her energy, a massive room was forming on the other side.

Of course, she'd keep on making the room until they were ready for Roots to change. Then, she'd just make a door into the next room over.

Roots
It was half challenge, half joke, maybe, but Roots was aware of Daze's many mystical abilities. But what it sparked was another memory of Azuki. Roots frowned softly. He wasn't sure if she was dead or not. Chances with her...the other guy looked pretty shitty at the very least.

Either way, Daze and Machi were both confident in the Majin's ability to create an environment large enough for the Oozaru form to reveal itself. And if Roots did go out of control, Daze threatened to leave him there.

A very wide-eyed Roots shot Daze an odd look for a moment before shaking his dog-head. Machi floated off of him and began channeling ki into a wall, and the four-legged Roots went over and began sniffing through his belongings.

"Here we go," He pulled a capsule from one of the pockets out with his mouth, resting it on the ground.

"This is my Moon Simulator. I built it in case I ever need to..." The large wolf sighed.

"You get the idea. It's kinda big, so I'll let it out of the capsule in...there,"

Daze
Daze just sat up and watched. The two of them were so capable. At least compared to him. He wasn't sure how he'd handle a fight in this state. He'd think too much and do too little. Daze on the outside however is the opposite. He does too much and thinks too little.

He needs to find balance.

In a way though, Machi is that balance.

Outside that time he ripped her arms off on accident. That was the opposite of balance. Scary good times.

"Alright, you've hyped it up Roots. Lets see," Daze prodded.

"Ready? Okay!" Machi replied, shifting her energy to the wall to create a doorway through it. On the other side of said opening, Machi decided to go for something open aired, instead of a closed space. So, it was your basic stadium set up, extremely basic. No seats or any distinguishing features, just a floor with walls that sloped up to create an open space.

Gave a good view of the purple world they were in as well, while feeling like they were not floating in a void. Due to the building and all that.

"Alright Roots! Show us! Show us!" Machi was extremely excited to see what Roots could do, always liking to experience new things. Flying out into the open expanse, Machi eagerly awaited to see what was going to come of all this.

Hyped it up. He'd have to remember that saying. Hype. Roots shook himself, fur and all, and then just after Machi created the doorway, Roots went through, capsule in mouth, actually a little nervous. He hadn't tested the moon device thoroughly yet. If only Daze or Machi knew how to operate it...

Either way, he made his way towards the center, getting some good distance from the both of them. Then, with a click (somehow Roots managed this) a white cloud of smoke appeared, and once it cleared a cube-like object was what remained. It was about as large as an oven, perhaps, metallic grey steel on all sides except the top, which had some sort of odd transparent screen. Inside was some sort of engine.

It took Roots a few moments (he was not used to operating technology without thumbs) but once the device kicked and whirred into action, he let out a sigh of relief. In the sky, above them, in the stadium, almost, sat a glowing white fuzzing ball. A simulation of a moon. Roots let his eyes wander upwards...

It took effect quite quickly. He let out a roar, his body reacting violently. Bones snapped, skin stretched, and somehow even more hair grew. It took about thirty seconds, but in that thirty seconds Roots let out several more roars and loud grunts, but at the end of it, the several stories tall Wolf Oozaru was the result.

If it could grin, it would be.

"This is it!" The large monster shouted, it's voice booming, even in the fade world.

Daze
Daze watched in excitement. It wasn't everyday that he got to watch a Saiyan transform. Not while fully sober anyways. Although this version of Daze wasn't quite fully sober either. Not in a normal person's sense. His mind was still clouded compared to a normal human's, but it's the difference between a complete darkness and a light fog.

"Wow, I'm certain that size increase comes with a power increase as well," Daze noted, nodding.

His reaction seemed rather too chill. Which would likely be the opposite of Machi's reaction. She was fascinated by ice melting after all. She'd likely be blown away by this... that or try to replicate it herself. She was an odd ball and learning her personality has been fun for Daze.
