Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. We love new members and are a very welcoming bunch of people.

Roots
Roots didn't often spend time in Oasis, but when he did, he made sure to pay a visit to the bar to see the familiar face of the bartender. Bruce had been in an alright mood that day, but still asked the Saiyan to leave after he had downed a couple drinks. Daze and Machi were out, so there was no company.

Not yet, at least.

He sat on one of the buildings, overlooking part of the 'Central' part of the desert town. He had memories in this square, brawling with Daze, drinking with Daze, partying with...

...

Roots let out a long sigh and took a longer swig from his bottle of mystery alcohol. He was fully equipped, but had been hoping to meet a certain teleporter that day. Grumbling was all he could do. Daze was fucking hard to track-the same had happened with Talon.

"Damn dimension hoppers," His legs swung over the edge, and his eyes squinted against the sun.

Talon had been a bit disappointed when he had first found the village of Oasis. He had believed that there had been some magical secret to the village's safety. That hadn't been true however, just hidden by the fact that it was quite difficult to find. After a quick study of the village, Talon lost all interest and just left.

Today was a different story, as there was a purpose for the mage to be there. After seriously thinking about a proposal offered to him, Talon had come up with his answer. So, he was here to speak with the man of the hour, Roots.

A purple vortex appeared in the sky above the desert village, and the wizard Talon White stepped out. Floating in the air above the village, Talon wondered why the people here had chosen to live here. The environment was quite extreme, and Talon knew he wouldn't want to live in a village like this. Then again, with his enchantments, he wasn't bothered by the environment in the least.

"Ah, there you are Roots," Talon stated aloud after his scouter got a read on the Saiyan. Turning in the direction of the Saiyan, Talon saw the Saiyan sitting on one of the roofs in the village. Talon started to float down towards the Saiyan, wondering how this conversation would turn out.

Roots
He heard it. He had heard it a million times, but this one scared him because he knew who it was within seconds. He had been in the middle of a drink, and he managed to finish it before scrambling to place it next to him.

"Ugh, shit," Was what he muttered to himself as the wizard began to float down towards him.

"You do remember our scouters have communications, right?" He asked the wizard, pulling a cigarette from another odd pocket and placing it in his mouth. He grimaced, but did not get up. He reached for his bottle and took a swig. When he was finished, he set it down.

"Why have you come, wizard?"

"Yes, yes I do," Talon replied, giving the Saiyan a shrug as he landed on the rooftop Roots was on. He did remember saying that he was going to call Roots before they ended up meeting, but he figured just meeting would end up better. Quite presumptuous of Talon, but he figured it'd save some time getting skipping on the small talk before deciding to meet.

"I have come to talk about the proposal you made to me," Talon answered the second question, placing both hands on his staff and leaning on it as he spoke. "That is, if you still want this arrangement anyways." It appeared that Roots wasn't quite pleased with Talon being here, but, Talon did figure that most people that had that reaction around the mage.

That shrug, though.

It almost made Roots shiver, and he felt his anger surge. He kept it within, only taking a very long drag from his smoke as the wizard went on. He was being a little vague, but after he had finished speaking Roots actually pulled himself to his feet, remembering to grab his bottle of liquor as he did so.

"So, Talon White, you're telling me you're ready to end your witch hunt?" His face was hard as he continued.

"I hope you aren't here to negotiate terms. Soonbas is getting into your head no matter what,"

The mention of Soonbas caused Talon to grimace himself, the thought of the alien reading his mind was upsetting. If he truly did go through with this, Talon was literally alienating all of his other allies. He was placing his lot with Roots and friends, which may prove to be a bad decision. At least if he did this, Celeste might not be on his case anymore, a great positive to this situation.

"No, I understand, it'd be impossible to take me at my word. Though, Soonbas' reaction to what he finds in my mind concerns me. I'd like some assurance that neither you or Soonbas will attempt any action against me." With the experiments Talon had performed on others during his life, Talon didn't know what the alien would do. During their first meeting, Soonbas had said that past evils didn't matter, rather what the person planed to do. Talon didn't know if that'd hold up when they went through with this.

"So, to answer, I suppose I am ready to end this hunt."

Roots
Roots was almost shaking. Almost. His smoke and the fact he was already pretty buzzed helped that out. The Wizard had a very reasonable concern, and Roots nodded a few times, exhaling a bit of smoke.

"I can understand that," He was quiet for a few moments, but went on.

"Talon, I...I already know you're an despicable stain of existence. All of this has been for some kind of fuckin' peace. That's the point,"
He let out the rest of his breath, and inhaled sharply.

"Whatever Soonbas finds in you, if he decides it warrants your death I can't help you. If even he wants to end you, you probably deserve it. As long as your future is brighter than your past, you'll be fine."

And then a grin spread across his face.

"Good, good. We should go right away then,"
The Saiyan's hand went to his scouter, and after a few presses of switches, had it blinking.

"Fade us, then,"

Talon had to suppose that if he were a more normal person, he would take offense at what Roots said about him. The thing was though, Talon didn't care in the slightest what Roots thought about him. He did what he did to better himself, to get more knowledge and power in magic. With his actions and experiments, Talon had made it to where he was today.

"I do hope we become good 'allies' from this," Talon replied, stressing the word allies, "Working together should enable great gains for everyone." As he said this, he also was thinking if Soonbas attempted to kill him, Talon would just kill them all instead. Not right away of course, he didn't know if he could take the two of them on at the same time.

"Let us go, into the Infinite!" Talon called out, opening a fade portal in front of the two of them. "I'll go first, the portal will only maintain itself for a few seconds after I'm through." With that, Talon stepped through, entering the massive void in which he could access just about any place he could think of. The first step, on the new potential path his life was going to take.

Roots
Good allies? Roots expected it to be more of a permanent arrangement between roommates that hated each other. The pad just happened to be planet Earth. At least the wizard had the right idea-help everyone. The truth to Roots was that this alliance prevented destruction, it had not occurred to him that having the wizard on decent terms could mean positives for the planet.

Maybe he'd help in the fight against alien invaders next time.

The wizard let out a shout, and with a buzz a fade portal appeared in front of them. The Saiyan could not stomach down his grimace but he followed the wizard hesitantly through the portal into the fade.

Soon enough they'd be with Soonbas.
