Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. Daze
It had been some arbitrary amount of time since the Tao mess in some place Daze was actually unfamiliar with. He met new people, took a hit for Red and overall had a good time. Minus the Lurch almost dying. That was a bust. Couldn't help that, though. Maybe next time.

Daze on the other hand... was unconscious. Half on his bed, half hanging off, sawing logs with his loud snores. Normally not an issue, but it was mid-day.

There was likely something more productive to do with his day than sleep it away. It's a wonder Bruce lets him do this. It's also a wonder he still hangs here and not party city. If you ask him, Daze'll say something along the lines of, "You can't live in a party, just visit for a while," or something.

He'd also be making it up and be lying. But that was the Daze way.

Daze
"You did. I'm so proud Machi... Tell... tell Pooches that he's a big dummy for me," Daze said, making an exaggerated feinting sound as he feigned death.

It was a cruel joke. But Daze does whatever comes to mind and this was the first thing that popped into his head. He wasn't sure how Machi would react if Daze got killed dead and he was curious. But, as the brief second went by that Daze feigned his death he started to feel a thing. It was strange. Like... some form of bad thing. Like he did something wrong. Regret? Guilt?

"PSYCHE!!" Daze sat up and shouted. "I was just playin' ya. I'm alright, you did hit me hard, just not hard enough!" Daze laughed, not knowing that Machi would probably not find this amusing in the least.

Mystic Machi
Listening to his words, Machi tilted to her head to the side confused, before he let out a strange sound and fell over. Her mind immediately went into overdrive, thinking about what has happening, and she could only come to one conclusion. Somehow, Machi had killed her master.

In the short second, Machi felt worse than she had ever felt in her life so far. Crouching there, Machi didn't move, just stared at the body that was Daze. Her mental functions were starting to dissipate, not able to handle the strain of her act. Even her body was changing, black spots appearing at random points around her body. But, all these actions quickly reversed when Daze suddenly sat up.

"Daze?" Machi asked weakly, tears starting to well up in her eyes. She'd suddenly lunge forward to hug the man, the amount of relief she was feeling was immense. "I'm go glad, hic, that you're, hic, okay!" she said after hugging him, crying a bit on his shoulder. She was even shaking a bit, the thought of losing Daze was a greater pain than she had previously thought. Most likely, if it happened, she wouldn't be able to live with herself.

Daze
"It's okay, I can't die that easily. I've tried. I was just playin' with you. I'm sorry, it wasn't very funny," Daze admitted, feeling like quite the ass about the whole ordeal.

Daze returned her embrace, holding her close. He had really done goofed. Not to mention he was curious about all those black spots and whatnot. Best not to ask. He did enough already. Now he wasn't sure how to continue their day. She'd not likely be in the mood to continue training. Not after that.

Damn. I'm dumb... He thought biting his lip.

"Hey, Babe. What you want to do. Anything you want. You name it," Daze asked, trying to cheer her up.

Mystic Machi
While in his embrace, Machi felt that the world would be okay. Feeling his warmth was good, and reassuring that he was alive. She didn't know why he had done what he had done, but, she didn't really care. All she really cared about is that he was still alive at this moment. She didn't know what she'd do without Daze in her life.

Then, he asked what she wanted to do, which was something she always had a problem with. Machi didn't have much ambition for doing stuff, always following around Daze and doing what he wanted to do. Whenever she was asked, she usually fell back to his reasons of living. But, this time, she wanted to continue what they had started. She needed to get stronger so that she could protect Daze from harm, so that she'd never have to experience what she had again.

"I want to learn your color stuff," Machi replied, pulling back a bit and looking him in the eyes. She knew that his abilities were quite powerful, and she figured that she'd be able to learn some of it. Whenever he did something like that, she could feel some of the energy and understood a part of it. Though, being able to learn it might be a different story.

"Or... is that not possible?"

Daze
Daze sat back, sitting crossed legged for a moment. This was a tall order. Mostly because Daze didn't know how he did it. He had to come up with a way to teach Machi his ways without sounding dumb. He just sort of drew onto the power and did his work. How could he explain it to her.

"Well... I'm not sure how I--" Daze paused, a sly grin stretching across his face. "I KNOW!" He stood up, excited about the answer.

The sky above them began to darken as a massively large Fade portal opened up just a dozen feet above them. It wasn't really the sky darkening, just their perspective of the sky due to how big Daze made it. Like a Vacuum the portal began to suck on them. Suck them up. Yes. That.

"I can tell you how... in there!" Daze said with a grin as they entered the Fade. To meet Zen Daze.

Machi had started to look dejected when Daze was seemed to be saying that he couldn't do the thing. But, that soon changed as he exclaimed that he did know how. Watching the man do his magic, a giant portal appeared in the sky above them, and Machi smiled at what this was implicating. It had been a while since they had met Zen Daze, and Machi always liked to see the other side of Daze.

"Yay!" was all Machi could exclaim as she was pulled up into the sky, where she would hopefully be able to learn the magic that Daze had. She knew it was strong, and if she had the strong magic, that would mean she would be able to protect Daze. She'd never go through that feeling again, not if she could do anything about it.

Daze
The air around them was thin, space never ending in all directions. There, Daze was floating among what looked to be a bed of sand. It was condensed enough for him to lay on without disturbing the bed of sand sucked in from the desert.

"Hey. Machi, how are you?" Daze asked with a calm, cool-eyed smile.

He seemed so much more nonchalant than before. Night and day difference. More of a chill than a harsh bright burning light. Machi, of course, has had the most experience with this Daze. She could likely deal with the difference easier than others.

"I'm okay, hi Daze," Machi replied, moving through space to get closer to the man. She always enjoyed her time with inner Daze, as he was someone she wasn't able to interact with much. But, when she did, she'd always enjoy herself. Not that she didn't enjoy outer Daze, there was always something more interesting about the more unknown.

"You know why we're here? Right Daze?" Machi questioned, wondering if the inner Daze would remember the conversation they had just had. She figured he would, he was connected with Outer Daze.

"Yeah, I do," Daze answered plainly.

He laid on his sand bed, arms behind his head. He seemed uneager to get up and do much outside of just enjoy the calm. Alas, he had to assist his friend Machi. She was in need to get stronger for reasons unknown to him.

"You want to learn how to become Ethereal like I do, am I correct?" Daze asked. "I can show you how I do it, but mastering it is up to you," Daze noted.

"Yeah! Your stuff is super strong, Machi needs to be super strong," she replied, her attitude becoming more somber near the end of her statement. While she didn't really have much use for a goal before this point, she realized that she needed to protect Daze. What better way to protect the man than with the amazing powers he himself had?

"Machi is good with the color stuff, I can learn it!" she added, a sound of determination in her voice as she did. This may have been the most determined she'd ever been, at something she wanted to do herself anyways.

"Alright, I'll show you and walk you through the process..." Daze smiled, standing up on his sand bed. "First, you dig deep within, feeling out your magical powers. You make a demand of it, almost like a command. You dig as deep as you can for a power and drag it out. It's not a... simple process... but when you find that power deep within, you'll see why," Daze paused, before exhaling.

"This is what I call power," he muttered, his skin turning blue as a blue aura engulfed him.

He felt lighter and stable now. Able to do so much more with his abilities. However, he couldn't offer much more of an explanation than that. It was difficult to explain, almost like explaining a new emotion that only you could feel. It was just there.

Staring at Daze, Machi didn't blink, didn't move a muscle as he explained what he was doing. Taking each word to heart, Machi started to reach inside herself when he said that was the key, but didn't try anything yet. Attempting to feel him out with her magic, Machi wasn't going to try herself yet. She needed to see him do it, to feel out the process as well as she could.

"This is... what I call power," Machi repeated, her examination done the best as she could. Focusing all of her mental capacity inwards on herself, this was going to be a bit difficult. While Machi was a creature of instinct and spontaneity, things like this usually didn't happen that way. But, Majins were special, they broke stupid rules all the time.

While her initial plan of just being able to do it after seeing him show it wasn't working out, Machi felt a sudden impulse to try something. Reaching forward, Machi could feel the aura coming from Daze. This was the energy she was looking for, the magical source within everyone. Using this as some sort of reference, Machi found what she was looking for.

Digging as deep as she could within herself, Machi found the energy, and used all of her will to rip it to the surface. It was extremely difficult for the Majin, not as used to it as Daze was. Daze would see Machi's body tense as she struggled for the power, the power to protect Daze. This was the last push she needed, the Determination to protect her master and greatest friend.

The blue aura surrounded Machi, and with it, Machi managed to relax. "Is... is this it Daze?" Machi asked, looking at the light that was coming from her, and feeling much better than she ever had in her life.

"You did it, a lot easier than I did my first time trying," Daze admitted, giving Machi a smile. "And... I'd also like to apologise to you again for my actions earlier. That was cruel and I can't say sorry enough," Daze sighed, a tad upset at how he acted outside the Fade.

It was difficult for him sometimes. He never stops to think about his actions. He just does them. This leads to him being into many unique and... horrible situations sometimes. Much like him feigning his death as a practical joke to a naive Majin with unspeakable power.

"I had the best teacher!" Machi replied, the blue she had on her still going on. She could feel the power within her, the magic that was brought to the surface. But, she also knew it wouldn't last much longer, she could feel it start to fade away.

"It's okay Daze!" Machi replied, moving closer to her master, slight smile on her face. "As long as your okay, Machi will be okay." she replied, having an idea what he was going on about. She was still new to the concepts of jokes and the like, and figured it had something to do with him 'dying.'

"I'm glad, although... I'm not sure there is much else to teach you Machi. Most of my powers and abilities rely on instinct or drawing from these orbs in my arms," Daze said, pointing to both forearms at the same time with the opposing arm by reaching through portals. "Without them, I'm not sure I would have ever obtained power to begin with.." Daze said with a solemn look due to his inability to further Machi's training.

"Aww... that is too bad," Machi responded, the blue glow fading from her body. Spinning around in the air a bit, Machi just had a smile on her face from this situation. She had gotten a part of Daze's power, and that more power than she had before.

"It's okay Daze!" Machi continued, her purpose for coming here basically fulfilled. "Machi will get her power somehow, Machi will be able to protect you." She continued, giving Daze a look of determination. If possible, she'd always be able to protect him, not that he really needed protection at this point.

"Machi will never let Daze die," she finished, moving closer to the man and give the man a hug.

"Thank you," Daze smiled, embracing Machi. "It might not seem that way, Machi. But while outside of this realm... I really do need your protection. I tend to make foolhardy and dumb decisions. I need you to pull me out of the fire on occasion," Daze admitted, pushing away from the hug politely, but with a serious look on his face.

"Speaking of my foolhardy decisions... I have to know... does it bother you that I recklessly flirt and partake in... frivolous behavior with other people?" Daze asked, feeling bad that while outside of the Fade, his mind flees in every direction, unforcused and unthinking of how his actions impact other people.

He feels, therefore he does.

Daze appreciated her, which was something that the majin would always appreciate. He still needed her to help him with stuff on the outside, with the decisions that he made. She could understand what he was talking about as well, some of the things he did hadn't seemed the smartest to the majin. But, it was Daze, and Machi didn't like to go against his will.

"Behavior with other people?" Machi asked, a little bit confused about the question. Thinking about what Daze with other people out in the other world, Machi didn't think of anything wrong, "Machi doesn't think so. Only thing I am bothered about is you always disappearing." Machi finished, as she still hadn't found a way to totally track the man when he did. She had her one power to do so, but, it wasn't available to her as often as she liked it to be.

"I can understand your plight," Daze admitted, chuckling at the idea of him just vanishing like nothing. "Well, I can't teach you how to track me... but I think I know who can," Daze said, taking steps towards the edge of his sand bed.

He took a deep breath in and exhaled, opening up a fade display, showing Roots and what he was going right now. He was doing very very Roots things. Didn't surprise Daze in the least.

"I think our mutual friend Roots can teach you how to master your inner Ki," Daze said, holding his arm out, presenting the image of Roots. "He did offer to train you after all, didn't he?"

Watching as Daze opened the portal to look at Roots, Machi was still amazed at the things he could do. The power that Daze had was amazing, part of the reason why Machi had asked for it. But, to track and use her ki, Roots was the answer.

"Yep! Roots would do the blast stuff, and you'd do the color stuff!" Machi recalled, not saying the right names, but the right outcomes.
