Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

This is the Place; Daze

Kamrun
The only village in the desert, is what he had told her. After she had helped out at the port, and paid a visit to Bruin who seemed to live there. She headed off out towards the desert on a quest for magic beans, which reminded her of a children's story her mother used to read her. She had no cows to sell, so hopefully her and the white-haired man could strike a deal some other way.

Now normally 'the only village in the desert' would have been just as dangerous as 'go play in traffic' for someone who didn't know the expansive geography of the sandy place, and could easily get lost and die of dehydration. But as it so happened, Kamrun knew where the village was, stumbling upon it in her time of need, having been lost and dehydrated, and paid for water with her healing skill.

Assuming there wasn't another 'only village in the desert,' and that the man had simply been speaking about the only one he knew of, she arrived at the small town by the rocks and looked around. She had assumed he would be immediately visible. However, it wasn't difficult to find white-haired men, asking around is what helped her find Bruin after all. She knew the best place to get information was the bar, so that was where she headed, stepping in and going to the counter. She waved at the barkeep with a friendly smile, "hello, some water please," she asked, certain it wasn't an odd request, "and um, "I'm looking for a man, about this tall, white hair and dark skin?"

She was very fortunate to have found the village in time. As a sandstorm was brewing. She had roughly half an hour before it arrived. It was creating some heavy winds, but nothing someone who frequented hilly terrains or coast wouldn't be familiar with. Only a regular of the desert would be alarmed by the increase in wind.

"Oh, Daze? Jeez. How has he coerced you to come out in weather like this?" Bruce laughed, shaking his head. Of course, the storm wouldn't be visible quite yet. These things sort of blew in abruptly. "Yeah, that good-for-nothing is upstairs, last room on the left," Bruce noted, pausing from cleaning a glass to point to the stairs.

The entire building was made of wood. Old wood. But it's location in the village had it almost build into one of the large rocky outcrops. At this point, though, it looked like the building was supporting the rocky structure. It gave it a "This building is too old to be secure" kind of feel... but also homey and comfortable.

The hall leading to Daze's room was none the better. Poor lighting combined with creaky floors created a sarcastically inviting vibe. But if it hasn't broken down since all of Daze's time rough housing here, it wasn't bound to do so now.

"Bored... I didn't realize sending Machi off to train with Roots would be so boring," Daze said, laying on his bed. His head was promptly resting on the palms of his hands, staring at the now vibrating wall. "Shit, gonna have to get out of this room soon. It's gonna get sandy..." Daze cursed, looking at his broken window. It barely had any shards of glass holding on to the frame anymore.

Daze was clothed; Pants, striped sash, a tight brown vest and boots. Granted the button on his blue-jeans is still missing, but they were so tight they posed little risk of falling off.

She was in luck, the barkeep knew exactly where the man was, and he was, in fact, in that very building. Taking her glass of water she smiled, "it's a potential transaction," she said, lifting the glass to the man before drinking it down and paying him with a small capsule. One of few things that had universal value. When was king furry going to make zeni a thing again, now that everything was back to normal... ish?

Kamrun made her way up the stairs, feeling the building shake and put a hand against the wall. She looked around, a bit surprised. It must have been right behind her and she hadn't noticed. Very lucky indeed, but it would delay her departure once things with the man were settled.

Getting to the door, some sand filtering through some cracks in the walls here and there, she knocked lightly on the door, not want to really disturb him is he was asleep. With the storm, she had time to meet him on his terms, "hello? It's, um, the not-winged redhead from Haven Port," she bit her lip, feeling a bit silly having to give a description rather than a name, but they hadn't been exchanged in the aftermath of the attack, "you saved my life? Said you had a magic bean?"

Not winged-red head? Bean...? Daze pondered, sitting upright before moving over to his door.

Of course, due to it having now actual handle, the door sort of opened on its own from the knocking. Just in time for Daze to walk past the swinging door, standing just a couple feet from Kamrun. Daze, immediately remembered who she was at first sight. It was the girl from the thing that happened some time ago.

"Oi! Bean Babe, what're you doin' way out here?" Daze asked, a sly grin stretching across his face as he removed the orange goggles from his eyes.

An orange hue on the already red headed girl made her look like she was on fire. It could just be Daze's imagination. If he were a wise man he'd make a comment about her looking hot because of it. But he's not. Well, maybe he is for not making the comment. Semantics.

Bean, that made her smile, "hi!" she greeted as he removed his goggles, she gave him a small wave. He didn't remember at first why she was there, and her hand went to the strap of her backpack, "um, at Haven Port, you had said that you had a bean, like the one the armored woman had used to heal the injured man?"

Not having names was making this difficult. She smiled apologetically, "you said you might be interested in selling it?"

"Magic bean huh... letssee...." Daze paused, scratching his chin as he went into what appeared to be a deep thought.

Armored girl, magic bean... Haven.... nope. Doesn't ring a bell... Daze thought, nodding along with his thought pattern as he attempted to remember the context of her visit. Still. A hottie came knockin' on my door. Can't just let her leave without somethin'... Daze continued before breaking his train of thought by snapping his fingers.

"Right, let's see Bruce," Daze said with a grin as if he solved a very difficult puzzle.

Daze politely waited for Kamrun to move out of the path before he ventured on to the ground floor of the establishment. If anyone knew what Kamrun was talking about, it'd be Bruce. Of course, it would help if Daze knew that he was in a place called Haven. Names are lost on him. Memories were also lost on him.

It'll come to eventually.

Kamrun
Kamrun waited patiently and quietly as Daze wracked his brain to try to remember, ultimately he was unable to, which she didn't blame him for, she had been not very good at describing the place or situation. It gave her a chance to get a better look at the man who had saved her life, mussed white hair, dark skin, brown eyes, seemed to be... a bit unstable, just by looking at his face, but she had met the sort before, given the world they lived in.

Finally he had an idea and said they needed to talk to Bruce. She smiled and stepped aside to allow him to lead the way with a chipper, "okay."

"Oi! Bruce!" Daze shouted while coming down the stairs. "You got some Magic Bean?" Daze asked just as he came out onto the ground floor.

"Magic Bean? You mean that old thing you brought home?" Bruce asked, pointing to a jar of mixed jelly beans on the desk. "You came in one day talking about how you acquired a magic bean, handed it to me and never mentioned it again. So I put it in the bean jar," Bruce said, sliding the jar closer to the edge of the bar.

"Oh... that's a lot of beans..." Daze said, sounding a tad discouraged. "Sounds like me though. Yeah. Beans in there. What does it do again?" Daze asked, Kamrun while approaching said jar.

They made their way back to the barkeep, Bruce as it turns out, where they spoke about the bean and Kamrun grinned as the jar was pulled out and the beans laid out on the counter.

"It's a bean that heals, when I saw it used, it healed a mortal injury, restoring the man to full health, he was walking and talking and even running in seconds."

This was going to be fun, like putting together a puzzle, but instead it would be taking the pieces away until one was left.

"If you leave the jar, I can find it if--," she stopped, swiveling towards Daze, "if that's okay, it is your bean after all."

Healing, huh? Yeah. Don't need that. Daze thought as he approached the bar, sitting on one of the stools.

"Nah, I don't mind," Daze noted, waving Bruce closer to him. "Hand me that fork," Daze requested, pointing at the clean silverware.

"You hungry, Daze?" Bruce asked as he handed him the fork.

"Nah, just showin' off," Daze laughed, taking the form and stabbing it into his left forearm.

"Daze!" Bruce shouted, trying to stop him. But alas, he was too late.

"Cuz I don't need no magic healin' bean anymore Bean Babe, my body doesn't like to stay hurt," he stated, removing the fork.

Almost immediately, a green light began to hum around Daze's forearm around the wound. There was blood... but the trickle stopped rather quickly and began to heal naturally. Well. Super-naturally. Something about the magic Daze has doesn't like to let him experience pain or stay hurt.

"So, how you gonna find the Bean? Bean Babe."

Kamrun was glad to hear she was allowed to look for it and she looked at the beans. She was immediately distracted as Daze stabbed himself in the arm with a fork!

She jumped and her hands clapped over her mouth, eyes wide at the wound as it bled. But then it glowed, and stopped, and healed.

"Oh," she said next, her hands moving from her mouth and she leaned forward to see that there was not even a scar, then leaned back, "wow, how'd you do that?"

Her eyes lifted to his, but he asked about the bean and she blinked, "uh... oh, right, I remember the armored woman feeding it to the other man, I remember what it looked like, so I can rule out the beans that don't look like it first, and then through process of elimination, I'll have the one."

She looked at the beans, removing the first one she definitely knew was not the bean and put it in the jar, "in theory."

"Don't know, body just does it," Daze shrugged, tossing the fork over into the sink across the bar. Bruce gave Daze a scolding look. "So. Um. Why you want this bean? You into magical healin' stuff?" Daze asked, leaning on the counter with his elbow to rest his face onto the palm of his hand.

He couldn't help but just watch Kamrun.

After all, they were trapped inside a bar and she was the most interesting thing in the bar. No offence to Bruce. Despite this, Daze also never thought about the fact that he could teleport out. He was caught up in the now and right now Kamrun was delicately going through each bean looking for the right one.

Persistant.

Kamrun looked over at Daze, putting a few more beans into the jar, looking at his arm again, then going back to the beans. She smiled when he asked about her being into things that heal magically.

"I am, yes," she said, picking out four more beans and putting them away, "I use them to make healing potions for people who don't magically heal themselves," she smiled at him, "not everyone can be so lucky," she stuck her tongue out a little at him teasingly, swiping up a handful more beans from one edge of the whole pile.

"You still haven't said what you want for it."

"Yeah, not everyone is as great as I am," Daze teased back, before easing his gaze onto Bruce. "Oi, Shots please. Fireball. Somethin' has got me in the mood for cinnamon," Daze said before turning his gaze back to Kamrun, jesting at her red hair.

She brought up payment. Damn. That wasn't something Daze had really put much thought into.

"Not sure. I don't really need for anything. I guess the real question is... what is it worth to you?" Daze asked nonchalantly. He wasn't trying to bargain or barter. He was more curious than anything.

"Here, Daze" Bruce said, sliding two shot glasses forward. One for Kamrun, one for Daze. "On the house Ma'am," Bruce said with a smile.

Daze perked up. He grabbed at his shot glass and holding it up in the air, beckoning Kamrun to touch glasses with him. Daze was celebrating something. But every day was a celebration to him. Just had to get the party started was all.

"Cheers."

"To me it's priceless," she murmured, seemingly engrossed in her task.

Kamrun chuckled as he mentioned craving cinnamon, obviously not totally engrossed, and kept picking beans out of the pile, gently patting them down so that the remaining ones lay flat. She looked at the shot that was set by her with surprise.

"Oh," she then looked at Daze, "I don't really...," he called for cheers and Kamrun bit her lip in uncertainty, looking back at it.

"Just the one," she said, taking it, "I dot' hold my liquor well and I do need to be able to walk out of here tonight."

She lightly tapped the glass against Daze's and hesitated for a second before shooting back the glass.

It burned. She began coughing, burying her face into the crook of her elbow as her face turned red. The fit lasted for at least a whole minute before she caught her breath.

"Wow," she breathed, "ow."

A shit eating grin stretched across Daze's face as she tapped her glass with his. No one likes a party pooper. Especially before the party started. Not to be one who spoils the parties himself, Daze took his shot with grace. He took a deep inhale along with the shot, allowing a nice big smile to stretch across his face from the sensation.

He then, of course, followed up with a laugh when he saw her reaction to the shot.

"Damn Bean Babe, you alright?" Daze asked, placing his hand on her back. "You can't die on us here. You'll lose the priceless magic bean and we're all out of cows," Daze jested, teasing her and her 'children's story' quest.

"Bruce, get her some tea," Daze asked. Bruce simply nodded and turned to his working refrigerating unit and brought out some green tea that he poured into a glass. "There, didn't know it'd hit you that hard," Daze teased once more.

"I'm okay," she coughed and laughed at his joke, patting her hand against her chest with a smile, "I won't die."

She cleared her throat a couple of times, thanking Bruce for the tea and sipping it, which burned at first but then cooled after another sip, "you know," she said smiling at Daze, "you could call me BB, would be faster to say," she chuckled, sipped some more tea and gave a relieved sigh, setting it down.

"Thank you, sorry, I haven't had that one before, what was it called again? Cinnamon Death?"

"Aight, BB, I think I can remember that," Daze agreed, removing his hand from her back and returning to his previous face resting in hand position.

Daze began to analyze her bean situation. Bean Ba--BB, had gone to work already. She was diligent if nothing else. Maybe stubborn is the correct term. Only time will tell. After all, she's sorting through hundreds of beans just to find the one magical bean. On top of that, she traversed all the way out into the desert, moments before a sand storm... just to dig in a jar of beans.

Yeah. Stubborn.

"Fireball Whiskey. Good stuff, pretty strong. It'll warm you up in a pinch. It'll be helpful with the lack of Sun from this storm. It might be night by the time it passes over," Daze noted, glancing at the window at the front of the bar. It was dark from the raging winds out there. Thankfully the windows downstairs were in better condition than Daze's bedroom window.

"Why do you heal people?" Daze asked, curious about his storm-mate.

"Fireball Whiskey," she repeated, nodding her head, "I see, much more appropriate name for it," she smiled as she went through more beans. He mentioned that the storm might go all the way to the night, and give the contents of the drink, how thin she was and her mostly vegetable diet, the liquor was going to be hitting her hard in a minute.

"How much is a room?" she asked, blue eyes looking up to Bruce. She was assuming the rooms upstairs could be paid for for a night, and weren't exclusively for the barkeep's friends only.

She looked back to Daze as he asked a simple question.

"Well," she said, looking at the beans again, "I'm not good at fighting, nor do I want to be. Lots of fighters in the world already, not enough people to bandage them up when the fighting's done," she smiled at Daze, "if there's no one to bandage them up, they can't get back on their feet to keep fighting, or go back to living their life, or making babies or whatever they want to do."

"Rooms? A capsule should do. Anything's fine--" Bruce was saying, before Daze interrupted.

"Nah, don't worry about it, Bruce. I got her," Daze said, giving Bruce a thumbs up before turning his attention back to Kamrun. "So, you heal up those who stand up and fight, so that they can keep on standin'," Daze nodded, scrunching his lips a bit.

"I can see how that'd be useful. Scummy bastards will just target you though, you know that, right?" Daze noted. "You should learn some defensive stuff too, for yourself. Else you'll get picked off by a big nasty like that... umm... Robot guy," Daze stated, not sure what to call Tao.

"Bruce, can I--" Daze started, but was interrupted by Bruce this time.

"Here's some more shots," Bruce said, pouring them down and passing them to Daze.

"Thanks. If you feel the urge, there's more BB," Daze offered.
