Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. We love new members and are a very welcoming bunch of people.

Even nowhere is somewhere; {Daze}

Calvin
It was a sobering experience nearly dying but Calvin had gained an understanding of another magic in the process. Now it was time to enjoy himself a little and find a balance of hydration and alcohol."Barkeep another please."

This place seemed accommodating enough to people and not so worried about magic. It may become a favorite spot to come for thought. It was always pleasant travelling but a base was good too.

Daze
It was a cold night last night. Daze got almost no sleep because of it. Mostly because his choice of clothing is very poor. So he wrapped up in a couple blankets. Which would have done the trick if his window wasn't busted in. If he were a smarter man he could have teleported to another location.

"I need something warm to drink..." Daze said with a raspy voice as he approached the bar, sounding as if his sinuses were acting up. "Fireball me up Bruce," Daze said again, sniffing a bit.

"You alright Daze?" Bruce asked with a cocked brow.

"Yeah, just cold last night. I'll get over it," Daze spoke once more before Bruce slid over a large shot glass. Dazen quickly downed it with a deep inhale and sigh of relief. "Thanks, feelin' better already," he said, sounding no better than before.

The stranger from upstairs seemed to cover the identifier pretty well for Calvin. His attire was of one who was having heat flashes but he sounded like he had froze during the night. "I would suggest better sleeping arrangements and attire. Maybe a thermal blanket or a heating device." Lifting his glass to the sick man. "Also maybe a lozenge for the throat."

"Yeah, maybe. Or I could come up with a way to punch the bad weather away..." Daze sniffled, waving his hand in a circle towards Bruce, indicating he wants another round.

Daze took the shot of Chinamen flavored whiskey, inhaling deeply with the shot once again. The intense flavor was doing him some justice. It was clearing his sinuses. Well. So he believed. But really it was his magic. If Calvin inspected closely, he'd see light green particles flowing around Daze's face. It would be difficult to notice at a glance.

They were healing him.

"Name's Daze, who're you?"

Calvin enjoyed new things and apparently the entity known as Daze was going to get his curiosity. It was intriguing at first to see some magic around this man. It became apparent magic with a purpose quickly enough when it functioned in a uniform way.

He was lost in thought about the particles that he almost messed up his manners. "Oh, sorry I am Calvin. What kind of magic do you use? It is not one I recognize but it reminds me of medicinal alchemy or restoration skills that I have seen before." It was all business until he could understand this new trick.

"Huh? Not sure... it just sort of does," Daze said, pointing to his right forearm with his left hand. "These orb thingies... they uh, sort of do magic for me. I don't really get a say so in the matter," Daze noted, scrunching his lips during the explination.

"BUT! I can do some pretty neat shit cuz of it," He chuckled.

Calvin became downtrodden when he heard Daze did not know anything about his own magic. It quickly became interesting when he heard that there were magic objects enhancing him. "Oh, may I see your abilities then? I would love to see this in action and maybe get an understanding of them. Do you know where they came from?" Taking a breath Calvin leaned away having gotten closer as he spoke. "Sorry but this is a unprecedented kind of magic and I would love to know more."

Daze
Daze's eyes lit up at the request. Almost as if all of his ailments had washed away. Daze was one for boasting and even more so for telling the tale of how he got his powers. Daze immediately stood up and began to stretch, as if his body needed to be prepared for casting spells. It was more of a habit than anything else.

"Right, yeah. I guess I'll start with this," Daze said, reaching into a portal next to him. Four portals opened up around his head and an arm came out of each. Four arms in total. Five if you count the arm that isn't doing anything. Each hand was holding a part of Daze's face. One on his chin, another on his head and the other two on each cheek.

"Neat, right? I can do nearly twenty at a time," he said with a cocky grin.

"I got these powers about five years ago. It was a cold night in the tropics. I found this lamp covered in sea shells. I thought it was neat so I kept it, but it was covered in gross shit. I went to clean it and BAM this hottie hot cat girl genie came poppin' out. She came out of the lamp too, if you know what I mean..." Daze went on for a minute about the needless details of the cat girl genie while rubbing all four sides of his head. "And lo'h and behold, for bein' the best at ping pong, she gave me magic powers!"

Calvin's eyes felt like they were going to pop out of his head. The sight of multiple portals with one origin were mind blowing. "That is astounding all I can do is one anywhere I want. You don't actually know the method of causing a fissure in the starting portal that allows the splintering that we see? It is almost like a prism effect that is allowing multiple arms but if you imply that twenty are possible then the potential is astronomical." His notebook was out as he spoke taking a blur of notes. "Can you show more examples of this ability?"

Daze
Daze was zoned out during Calvin's little fit of science. His mind began to wonder before he got distracted by his own hands, retracting them from the portal and stretching.

"Oh, yeah. I can do other stuff. Just not as cool as that..." Daze said, waving his hand.

Five portals opened up on the floor around the bar, each one beneath a chair. The exit end was on the ceiling directly above. Each of the five chairs began to fall endlessly into the entrance portal.

"I can make up to five portals at a time... and I can make them as big or small as I like," Daze added.

Continuing his note taking Calvin was enjoying this new found level for the ability of extra dimensional shifting. It was beginning to take up a larger number of pages but this was all worth it. "I have never run into anyone with this kind of skill. Do you have any other amazing magical talent or maybe more with the portals?"

"Ugh... Well, I've learned to make myself punch harder," Daze said, closing the portals just as they were about to go through the portals again. Each of them crashed into the ground, splintering in every direction.

"You're going to want to watch this kid," Daze muttered as his body grew in mass from magical energies. Not only that, but his overall power increased and restored some. "I can go a step further....." Daze exhaled as his entire hue began to shift blue and he became ethereal. "Now This is What I Call Power..." Daze muttered to himself.

He began to slip into the floor... sinking and sinking.

"Shit. Forgot," Daze shook his head, floating upwards. "I fall through shit like this..."

Closing his book Calvin walked around Daze with intense focus. "Are you actually coexisting in our reality and the extra dimensional space we fade to? That is amazing defensively speaking but it can lead to issues including the falling through objects. What would happen if someone tried attacking you with destabilized energy or worse tried teleporting you." Stepping back he opened his book and jotted some more information down about what he was seeing. "I will assume you can touch objects and defend yourself still in that state."

"I can get hit by people. Only non-people shit doesn't hit me. Like. A sword or a bat or whatever," Daze explained, floating upwards so that he was standing on the ground. "I don't know anythin' about existin' here nor there... but I can say that I feel lighter like this. Like, I'm not all here... shit thing is, I can't turn it off," Daze laughed, scratching the back of his head.

Calvin began tapping his chin when he heard that there was a flaw. "Immunity to weapons is a grand thing. Your inability to turn it off is a flaw have you tried fading to turn it off?" The rest of what he described sounded like shared existence between the realms.

"Nah, that don't work. I fade all the time. This shit just sort of ends when it's ready to. I don't do it often cuz it's annoying," Daze laughed. "Can't even drink now either. Damn. This gonna be a couple minutes longer too," He complained, slumping forward through frustration.

"Aight Bookie, show me your game since I showed you mine," Daze stood up, eager to see what his book worm of a companion can do.

Where to begin then. Calvin was wracking his brain for ideas before he raised a finger. "So far it is pretty straight forward. Most is basics except for these." Calvin generated lightning between his hands as an example and faded to the opposite side of the room. "My talents are larger scale and not safe for indoors so simple examples so far."

"Oh? Larger you say?" Daze smirked, eyes widening. "Yeah, let's see what you can do. Then we get to the big ones" Daze said with glee.

He loved a good show.

Anything to lighten up the dullness of day to day life.

"Lets move to the eastern edge of town then so that we don't damage the place." Taking his own words to heart Calvin offered a hand to Daze to see if he wanted to get a free ride to the site.

"Right, " Daze said, moving towards Calvin and taking his hand. "Take me to your fantasy land Bookie," Daze said, not making a whole lot of sense.

Likely because he had failed to mention the magic that empowered him also messed with his mind. Life was difficult when you couldn't focus on things easily, remember easily or pay attention for a long period of time.
