Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. We love new members and are a very welcoming bunch of people.

Angeles
It was easy to get to the village. Angeles did not fade, which would have been easier, she flew, needed to save her energy. It wasn't a difficult flight, but her mind and spirit were heavy. She had recently lost her sister, and recently perfected a technique she had been working on to help out a friend of theirs. It was that friend she now sought out.

Landing outside of the town, Angeles stepped in and looked around. The sun was on its way down but not yet sunset, and there were still people walking around.

She adjusted her coat, folded her wings and walked to the local bar.

She knocked as she stepped in and smiled at the barkeep, "hey Bruce," she said softly, "how are you doing?"

A quick look around said that the one she was looking for was not in the room, and she looked at Bruce again, "Daze about?"

Daze
Bruce looked up, delighted to see a familiar face. Although, he couldn't place her name right off. His age was catching up to him. At least, that's what he'd use an excuse. He instead, offered Angeles a warm smile. A smile that was quickly retracted when he saw her face. He could see it... the wear. She had been through tough times, very recently.

"It's nice nice to see you again," Bruce said softly, cleaning a glass. "Daze is... he's on the roof, beneath the rocky outcrop that hangs over the building," Bruce claimed. "And... well.. maybe you know what's bothering him. He seems... disturbed over something. Happened just recently."

Angeles smile faded slightly and her brow bent, "he...," she paused and looked at the ground, then back at him, "my sister passed away, he probably felt her go, they were mates."

She thinned her lips and stepped further in, "I'll go talk to him," she said quietly and went up the stairs. She assumed there was some access to the roof from there, but when she didn't see an immediate one, she went to his bedroom and went through the broken window, climbing up to the top of the building.

She looked over the edge and saw Daze, pulling herself up she walked to him, crouching down beside him, not sure what to say.

Nothing she could say would help.

Daze
"Oh. No. I'm. I'm terribly sorry," Bruce said apologetically as Angeles left. He knew his words wouldn't bring her any respite. But he felt for her. He too has lost a sister. An older one. A long time ago.

Daze was in the shade, leaning against the rocky outcrop that rose and hung over the bar. Bruce and Daze always made jokes about how one day it'll break off and crush them. But the thing was likely older than they were. There was little chance of it happening in their lifetime. Well, naturally anyway.

"Hey Wings."

Daze said very little. He knew why she was here. Well. Knew what she was going through. He could feel it. All he could do is move so she had room to sit next to him. He wasn't able to do much to break the silence but place his hand on her knee. It was the only way he could say that he was here for her. In whatever way he could be.

Angeles moved and shifted to sit with Daze with her back against the rocks and felt his hand on her knee. She looked at it, then put her hand over his, curling her fingers to hold it and squeeze it comfortingly.

"Shes...," gone, no longer exists, no heaven or hell for her, a soulless creature, she was just gone.

"Free, now," she said instead, looking over at him, "she suffers the wrath no more."

She looked back at his hand, inhaling sharply, then moving her other hand to where the orb was in his arm, only touching the skin, hesitating for a moment.

Daze
"I... I felt it," Daze admitted, releasing a deep sigh. "I laid waste to something somewhere. All a haze. Can't remember. I just saw red. I don't know if I hurt people. I hope I didn't," Daze continued, caught off guard by her touch.

Daze slumped over towards Angeles, resting his head on her shoulder a bit. He wanted to help her. But she was the one helping him right now. It was very selfish of him. But he couldn't process the thoughts. All he did was feel and react on it. It was tough.

"Did... she suffer?" he asked, knowing the answer.

He felt it. He just... he just wanted to know for sure.

Angeles stayed quiet as Daze explained what she suspected. She looked to him as he said he had taken his anguish out on some poor place and hoped he hadn't hurt anyone. She squeezed his hand comfortingly, then he asked a difficult question.

She was silent at first, not sure how to answer, not wanting to lie, "her wrath killed her," she finally said, "it hurt her, but it was over quickly."

She looked at Daze, then shifted and rested her cheek against his hair, "it was over quickly."

"Tch... I wish I could say that's good. But that's a fuckin' lie," Daze admitted, letting out a sigh. "What good is there in all that, ya know? It just isn't right. I couldn't even bring her back. I got all this new power.. but I couldn't bring her back," Daze said, closing eyes, breaking the seal that held some tears back.

It was true that Astraea and Daze didn't know each other for an incredibly long time. But like all people Daze met, he emotionally bonded with them rapidly. His emotions were all he had. He and Astraea had a very heart to heart talk just months ago. He thought he had helped her with her life and maybe subdued the Wrath inside her.

But he was a fool to think so.

"Just. It... fuckin' sucks."

"I know," Angeles whispered, shifting to wrap her arms around Daze and hold the man, "I know."

She held him tight, mostly for his benefit, some for hers, and she closed her eyes for a moment, "it sucks."

"I'm sorry, this ain't helpin' you at all... I know you didn't come out here to comfort me Wings... I mean. Angeles," Daze said, angling his head so he could make eye contact if possible.

"This used to be my safe spot when I was young. I don't know why I remembered it all of a sudden. But I just... needed a place to feel safe. My body told me to go here. Like I was some kid again," he managed to chuckle. "You're a good mate... or whatever you call us."

He used her name, that was a surprise, and she smiled, "'mates' is fine," she said, rubbing his shoulder, "I did come out here for you, though, I...," she hummed trying to think of a way to explain it.

"I wanted to try something," she shifted, so that she was facing Daze, "here, hold out your arms," she said, holding out her hands, palms up.

"Sounds kinkier than usual," Daze said with a light jesting tone.

It was still too early for jokes. But he had to try. The mood was sour and he had to lighten it up. Mostly because there was little they could do otherwise.

"Alright, let's see what this is about," he sighed, holding out both of his arms.

Angeles lifted her hands so that they were touching his forearms. She took a breath and looked at him, "I don't know if this will hurt," she admitted.

Her body and hands began to glow a familiar blue color. She concentrated and then curled her fingers, the digits going into Daze's and wrapping around each orb.

She kept her eyes in Daze as she lowered her hand, an orb in each palm.

It was done, and she looked down at her prize, then at Daze for the result.

Blue flames engulfed the orbs as they seemed to become real, part of this reality. It was just an illusion though, their substance was still interdimensional. They pulled toward Daze, as if begging to go back, wanting to go back. They couldn't break from Angeles' grip.

"Wha... what's....?" Daze began to breath heavily as his body burst with energy, the same familiar blue glow encased his entire body as an aura.

His hands shot to his head, grabbing onto it as if he were afraid it were going to explode. Scared and unsure of what's happening, his body began to turn an opaque purple before he was just gone. Not far, just up, on top of the rocky outcrop that hung over the bar.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" He screamed in agony at the top of his lungs... falling to his knees, breathing heavily at all the new sensations. Color, noise, smell, taste... it was all new. Like all this time he hadn't been experiencing them. His memories flooded back.

Bruce, Azuki, Roots, Machi, Talon, Soonbas, Jack, Cassi, Alinia, Angeles... Astraea. Names, faces, places and events all filled his mind at once. He was... alive again. He was Daze. He was here. But it was harsh on him. He couldn't handle it. Not yet. He needed practice with it.

"Angeles..." he murmured, laying at the top of the rock.

Angeles scolded the orbs quietly as they tried to return to Daze, and she quickly manifested a box for them in her hands, keeping them in place. Then something started to happen, Daze glowed, changed, then vanished to the stones above and began screaming in agony? Angeles stood quickly, looking up at the stones before flying up.

Daze had fallen to the rocks, and murmured her name. She landed by him, still glowing herself, and knelt to one knee.

"Daze?" she asked quietly, reaching to touch his back, "I'm... I'm sorry...."

"I'm fine... it's just... a lot to take in. Imagine finding out everything you saw, felt, tasted, heard and smelled was half of what was really there. Then all of a sudden it all came back at once," Daze coughed, sniffled and sat up. "Then everything you forgot all came back to you... it was, overwhelming," Daze said with a soft smile, almost relieved.

"You've freed me... although I think it's temporary, I can feel that it's not going to be permanent," an expression solace took his face. "Thank you." he said, looking up to make eye contact.

Angeles frowned, despite his thanks, feeling it unearned given the fact that this was not total success, "I know, it's not permanent," she looked down at the box in her hands, "they want to go back, and I don't think I could hold onto them forever even if I wanted to. I could...," she began, remembering the sword, "maybe, destroy them."

Angeles looked back at Daze, "then you'd really be free, but, you'd lose the power they gave you whatever power it is that's theirs and not yours already."

She set the box down, keeping a hand on it to keep the orbs in place. She frowned and tried to think, uncertain if she should try.

She would hate to lose Daze like she lost Astraea.

"It's best not to take any risks. Not to mention I can't properly protect myself or the people I care for without them. I must, however, apologise to you Angeles," Daze said with a stern look. "I feel like I've taken advantage of your kindness. I know I can be terrible to be around. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Without you I don't think I could experience the world again. Everything is so much more colorful now," Daze said with a smile, looking around at the details that were lost on him before.

Angeles chuckled, "you're not terrible to be around," she said, shifting to a sitting position, "you don't need to thank me Daze, I did it for you, so you'd be free, because I know what it's like," she paused, looking around, "not seeing the world as it should be seen, through our own eyes."

She looked back at him, "and you helped Astraea when I could not, so, thank you."

Angeles looked at the box again, "I can hold onto these for a while, if there's anything you wanted to do, now that you're, well, yourself, go do it, go enjoy it, fully," she smiled, "I'll be here when you get back."

"Actually, if you don't mind... I'd like to just hang around with you," Daze asked.

He didn't want to go off and experience the world. He was content with just enjoying the company with one of his friends. No need to start a fight, go on an adventure or sleep the day away. Just spending time with the people he cared about was enough for him.

"Besides... I actually am feeling rather taxed, I think this. Well. I think Form would be the appropriate term, is taxing on my energy," Daze admitted, looking at his own skin. "I think my body is longing to be reunited with the orbs as much as the orbs with me," he said, looking up at the box. "But on the other hand, I feel... stronger. No. Not the term. I feel like I can do more than I could before," he said, looking at his own arms strangely.
