Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. We love new members and are a very welcoming bunch of people.

Angeles
It was easy to get to the village. Angeles did not fade, which would have been easier, she flew, needed to save her energy. It wasn't a difficult flight, but her mind and spirit were heavy. She had recently lost her sister, and recently perfected a technique she had been working on to help out a friend of theirs. It was that friend she now sought out.

Landing outside of the town, Angeles stepped in and looked around. The sun was on its way down but not yet sunset, and there were still people walking around.

She adjusted her coat, folded her wings and walked to the local bar.

She knocked as she stepped in and smiled at the barkeep, "hey Bruce," she said softly, "how are you doing?"

A quick look around said that the one she was looking for was not in the room, and she looked at Bruce again, "Daze about?"

Angeles listened as Daze explained. She was aware of how the orbs stopped working in the fade, but he made a connection to Demon World and she furrowed her brow.

"What... what do you mean?" the orbs continued to work in demon realm, this made no sense.

"The Demon World is another dimension. It's why I can't fade there... I have a hunch if I push hard enough, now that I'm aware of this form... I can force myself out," Daze explained.

"I was rather in control last time I was there, slightly more aware than normal. I paid attention to the politics, I asked questions and was surprisingly well behaved," Daze noted. "It wasn't anything drastic like in the Fade, but it was a minor improvement. If I pushed harder, maybe fought for it... I could surface beyond the fog in my mind," Daze added.

"But it's only an idea, I haven't tested it and I imagine it would cost me a great deal of energy," he chuckled. "Just like it's doing now..." he sighed. "I don't think this state is manageable for long periods of time."

As Daze explained, Angeles became nervous. When he finished, she leaned forward and took his hand, "Daze," she said quietly, "please don't go to the demon realm."

She frowned squeezing his hand and imploring him, "please."

She slowly slipped her hand back away from him, looking at the ground, "nothing good every comes from that place," she recalled the mark of Aamon on the sword Jack had made, but then she tilted her head, "no, I suppose that's not true," Kiryu, Ba'al, Ran, to some extent, "but it's a place of temptation, and if you're already struggling against one thing there, it will be difficult for you to fight that temptation."

"Well... I wont lie to you, I was there not too long ago," Daze admitted, scratching the back of his head. "Well, not really. I only went as far as... what was it called?" he paused, scratching his chin. "Haji's Belly? I really wasn't paying attention when Angelina was explaining it all.

Anyway. I took a friend there for training. She wanted to get stronger. I couldn't think of a better place, at the time, to test your body and mind. It was impulsive and I literally didn't think it through," Daze added, not feeling like the smartest man in the world right now.

"Sorry."

Angeles shook her head as he explained what he had done and she looked at him, "just don't do it again...," she frowned, "I supposed there's not a point to saying that, you'll probably forget once these things are back in your arms."

She frowned and shook her head, "there's another place...," she said finally, "more difficult to get to than Demon World, but another dimension like it," she bit her lip slightly, staring at the ground, "the place I came from, Other World, it's safer than Demon world, but you still have to be careful," she looked up at him, "I'm sure with your magic you could get there, I can no longer go...," she sighed, "never mind, it's a foolish idea."

Daze
"You mean the Afterlife?" Daze asked, quirking a brow. "I've been meaning to ask you about that, actually... but given what's happened it seemed inappropriate. With what Talon did and all," Daze sighed, pulling Angeles closer to him with the arm still wrapped around her as a way of comforting her.

"I suppose it would make sense that the Afterlife... or this, Other World, is in another dimension. Why no one's stumbled across it or actually found it," Daze nodded. "What's it like there? If... if you don't mind me asking?" Daze hesitantly asked.

"Only part of it is the afterlife," she clarified, removing her hands from the box and out in front of her. A sphere materialized from her ki, fading from light to reveal something that looked like a glass dome set over an intricate metal base. The base was covered in red jagged lands, and aboe that, golden clouds that had a serpentine line running through them to one of four small green spheres, a castle perched in the center of it, above it under the dome was earth the moon and the sun.

"Here is where king Yemna lives, the judge of souls, souls that are evil go to hell, souls that are good go to heaven," she created a smaller sphere that orbited the larger one, "where I'm from. Within other world exist the worlds of the four kai," she explained, indicating the four green orbs, "who watch over sections of the universe. The one who watches over the quadrant earth is lives here," she pointed to the world that the snaky road led to.

She looked at Daze, "but there's more, it's an entire dimension to itself, a tournament of worlds is held by the grand kai, who draws souls and beings from all over to fight in it, but it was not something I paid much attention to. I was not in this place for very long. My duty was to be in the mortal realm and fight demons. I've lived on earth and other planets most of my life. Heaven...," she frowned at the sphere, "it's beautiful, but it was a prison. Earth is so much more to me."

She touched the small sphere, enlarging it so that Daze could see the flowing grass, fields of flowers, lush trees, the whole place a place of life. She frowned.

Daze
Daze was in awe.

It may be the fist time someone explained something significant to him and he was able to take it all in. He'd always zone in and out when stuff like this was happening before. On top of that, Angeles made some killer visuals. She was amazing. However, the entire time Daze could only think... So this is where you and Astraea come from..

"Wow, that's... a lot to take in," daze sighed, slouching a bit. "At least, I know there's something after this... although I doubt I'll be getting a ticket to Heaven. I've lived a life more suitable for Hell unfortunately," Daze laughed.

"It looks gorgeous, though. Leave it to you to give me a little slice of heaven and then show me heaven for real," Daze teased.

Angeles chuckled and set down the orbs. They were a real things after all, Daze could keep them, "you're too much sometimes," she sighed and rested her hands on the box again, "unfortunately you're probably right about going to hell, but it has varying degrees of punishments for what you did in life, I think you'd be on the more pleasant side of hell."

She smirked, "maybe be surrounded by angels as your guards."

"Well, if what you say is true. I'll probably be much more tolerable in Hell," Daze said with a grin. "Maybe they'll let me off with an easy sentence if I use the words please and thank you a whole lot," he jested, knowing it is something incredibly out of character for him to do while on the surface.

He knows that he is very rude to people at times. Only thing he can do is apologise when he gets the chance.

"But a Guardian Angel, huh? You're the closest thing like that for me. Going out of your way to help me out when no one else will. Seriously, I couldn't ask for a better friend," Daze said, looking up at Angeles with a smile.

Angeles chuckled, "king Yemma is strict, but fair," she smiled and touched his hand, "you've done a lot of good in your life as well, he would see that."

He called her a good friend and she smiled fondly at him, "you did a great favor for me Daze," she then pointed, "one I hope you don't just casually brag about to everyone you meet," she smirked then lowered her hand, "but, if it weren't for you, I would hate this life I live now. That is why I had to try to give that back. Right now it's short and temporary, but I promise I will work to make it more."

She gave him a determined look, "I promise to give you your life back."

"I don't brag... a lot. Not to anyone but Roots anyways," Daze admitted, blushing slightly from embarrassment.

He wished he was more modest at times. But it couldn't be helped.

Daze was hit pretty heavily by her words. She had big aspirations. Daze doesn't even know what that would be like. This was life to him now. He can't even really remember the before all that well. He can remember his parents faces but not their names. The fondest memories from his youth were with his brother, Damien.

After that it was just him and Bruce.

"Thanks, Angeles... it means a lot," Daze smiled, closing his eyes.

Angeles smiled as Daze did and she looked down at the box, opening the lid and grabbing the spheres. She set the box aside and took a breath, leaning forward to touch her forehead to his, "hey Daze," she said softly, "before... I let these go back."

She looked down at the orbs she had in each hand, "do you, want to go talk to Bruce?" she looked back up, looking into his eyes, ready to hold on to them for a while longer or put them back on his decision.

"I.... uh," Daze sighed, looking rather distant from the question. "I don't think I have enough time in the world to say what I want to..." Daze shied away from the question a bit, looking at the orbs with almost a lust filled desire.

He shook his head to break it, but the feeling was still ever present.

"Next time, I will. Pay me a visit and I'll have a long sit down with him," Daze affirmed, not wanting to add more to a day that started out poorly. They had sort of made the mood better, he didn't want to sour it with sappy bawling.

Angeles smiled, "alright," she leaned her head up, kissing his brow, "next time then."

She leaned away and let go of the spheres, letting them roll out of her hands and drop down into his arms. She let out a shaky breath, watching them sink in and her hands stopped glowing. She looked up to Daze's face, not wanting to see the change, but, she couldn't look away. She knew it would hurt to see, but she had to, she had to have that memory, to work that much harder at giving him back his normal life.

The kiss on his brow was warm. It made him smile, taking him back to better days. Warmth, embracement, passion... simpler times. Not like now. Even his normal shenanigans seemed a like a far cry from happiness. Maybe he needed his orbs back... maybe he wanted to forget. Get on with his life a bit.

Smile.

"I'm ready..." Daze sighed, allowing the orbs to come back to him. It felt like home.

A surge of energy flowed through Daze, sparking around him in the form of lighting for the briefest of seconds. His body began to glow, then hum... then whimper until he was a plain man standing before her. Well, as pain as Daze can get. His eyes glazed over and became slightly dull in color. The world became more bleak to him.

"Thank you, Angeles..." Daze managed to say before his mind went behind the fog.

He stood dazed for a moment, blinking several times and stretching his jaw. There was some pressure in his head he just couldn't shake.

"Huh... Wings... where are we?" Daze asked. His magic was fast to set in. Like a drug.

She saw the change in his face, in his eyes, and he thanked her one last time, before he blinked in confusion, and asked where they were. She smiled, wiping a painful tear from her eye, "we're on the rocks above the bar Daze," she said, standing and lifting the box into her hands.

"We were talking, but you forgot, that's okay," she held out the box to him, "here, you can use this to hold stuff, I have to get going," there was a lot of work she needed to do.

"Damn, you just got here, though, Wings," Daze said, holding the box with a puzzled look. "Wish you could stay for a drink or somethin'," Daze admitted, walking over to the edge of the cliff, contemplating how he was going to get down.

Angeles chuckled, "no Daze I've been here nearly an hour I think," she said, watching him eye the edge of the rocks. She spread her wings and grabbed his shoulders, gliding him down to the roof of the bar, where she assumed he would find a way down. She stayed airborne.

"Plus, we both remember what happened when I drank with you," she smirked, "we don't want that happening again," she insisted, knowing that Daze, this Daze, would disagree.

"Haha, naw, it'll be fun times," Daze laughed, winking at Angeles after landing. "Plus, it'll be a good start to the day, been feelin' down lately. Can't beat a nice lift of spirits with some spirits!" Daze encouraged, not really sure what she meant about last time... or even what time it was. It could be midday for all he knew.

Time was funny.
