Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. Roots
To say things were a little tense might have been an understatement. On the top of Roots' head, he had the Saiyans, Mercenary Tao, Tao's students, Sin, Astraea, and Angelina as not only problems that represented a threat to the world but personally Roots and Angeles.

Things were a little tense. It was an understatement. And things had happened so quickly, too. As far as Roots knew, noone else knew about Angelina-not yet, anyway, and Roots honestly wanted to keep it that way.

He was sitting downstairs at the bar, a can of beer in his hand. He spoke.

"Hey, Bruce, you seen Angeles?"

"She's around, I'm sure. She's never too far from you, you smell too bad to lose track of,"

Roots frowned. Did he really? He took another drink of his beer.

Angeles
"I'm here love," said a still-tired voice, and the fallen angel stepped down to the ground, a hand running through mussed hair as half-open eyes looked around. She wasn't sore, not physically, and when she looked at Roots she sighed, walking over and sitting at the bar beside him.

She danced her fingers on the counter top, staring at the wood, "sorry for sleeping in," she murmured.

Her coat was still upstairs, somewhere, so it was just the glorified bra she wore and her jeans and boots, her gloves were also missing.

"Something, not alcohol please, Bruce."

He heard her voice, and his somber face managed a smile. He turned to her, happiness spreading across his face-she must have just woke. She made her way to the bar and sat next to him, and he turned his attention to Bruce, the man of the hour.

"Non-alcoholic...Bruce, do you even know what that means?" The human behind the bartender scoffed and reached underneath the bar, and placed a mug in front of Angeles.

"I'm always working, Pooches. You think I get by without some of this magic?" The second thing he produced from underneath the bar was a pot of coffee, still warm, and he poured some into Angeles' cup.

"Try that out, see how it fits,"
Roots was silent, and gently rubbed his shoulder against the Angel's. She was hardly wearing any clothes but he didn't really care-this was somewhat of a vacation to him.

Roots made a joke and Angeles smirked slightly. She traced the grain on the wood until coffee was put in front of her, and her eyes lifted to look at the steaming liquid.

"Thank you," she said quietly and lifted the mug, two fingers slipped through the handle and brought it to her lips. She sipped it, swallowed, then set it down, "interesting."

She kept looking at the wood, guilt swirling within her like a chill to fight the warmth.

"How long do we want refugee status?" she finally asked, looking in the dark liquid and seeing her reflection, "where... do we go from here?"

He appreciated having her so close. He turned his body slightly to face her as she took a sip from the mug, swallowing, and then deemed it 'interesting'. She was quiet for a moment but then spoke, asking a question Roots really didn't have a solid answer for.

The Saiyan pulled at her wing, trying to get her to curl it around him. It always made him feel just a bit less nervous and with just Bruce there, the Saiyan didn't feel the need to hide any affection.

Besides, Angeles was already almost naked.

"I wish I had a real answer for you," He muttered either way, taking a sip of his own drink.

"What we need is..." He glanced up at Bruce.

"No talk-y about this, alright Bruce? Promise?" The Bartender nodded. Roots continued.

"We need to find out what Angelina's orders are. Perhaps she's working alone, perhaps your Kai sent her after us," He rubbed his face for a moment, and then leaned over, kissing his Angel on her cheek. He realized he hadn't done it yet that morning/afternoon.

The tug on her wing was met with immediate response, folding over his shoulders, though she couldn't look at him still. Roots began to plan beyond finding a new place, or going back to the old one. No, that wasn't even an option anymore, but they had to go see if anything was left at least.

He talked about Angelina and her kai, and she shook her head, "there's no way to find that out," she said, "we would need to speak to a divine, evil or good," she sipped at the coffee again.

"And I'm ruling out demon lords."

Roots
He was reminded more often through silence than words that Angeles loved him. He audibly let out a shivered sigh of relief, and Bruce let out a sigh of disgust. The Saiyan shot him a stupid dirty look and he wandered to the other end of the bar, wiping a glass clean with a rag.

"I'll agree with that," He muttered in response, one hand gently playing with the soft feathers on the wind that surrounded him.

"We have to find out, somehow. So that leaves us with going to a divine..." An uncomfortable frown spread across his face.

"Or we get someone to help us. Someone who can maybe...find out for us?" He face turned to face the Angel.

Angeles was silent for a bit, flicking her fingers at Bruce who disapproved of the public display of affection and was silent and still again.

"I know... maybe someone," she said after a moment of thought, "maybe, but not for certain. Roshi's sister goes between this and other world. She may be able to use her powers or her connection to find answers for us."

The angel frowned, "if we can find her that is."

A smile spread across his face and he leaned forward, gently pulling the Angel's face towards him and he took his first kiss on her lips. She was a genius-leagues wiser than he would ever be.

He didn't want to involve someone like Soonbas, or Talon. They'd either want to get involved with dealing with the problem or perhaps even worse, change the creature. But the Turtle Hermit's sister? Surely she had some knowledge.

"You're a genius, my love. I happen to know where Roshi's island is. We go there, ask the man of Kame House himself,"

Angeles had her face grabbed and Roots forced her to look at him as he kissed her. He was ecstatic, she still seemed exhausted.

"Oh great," she sighed with a smile, "master Roshi's house," she downed the coffee, biting back at the burn and set it down, "better get my coat on and hide the better parts of me."

He could understand the lack of enthusiasm. He was just excited to have a direction to go and somewhere to take Angeles. The woman put up with a lot, and she certainly deserved better than having to stay in this (honestly) horrifying establishment.

Still, he had to give Bruce credit. The man had come through.

Roots grinned and extended his finger, poking Angeles right in the forehead.

"Can't hide that part from Roshi. Or your eyes. Or, um...your wings, but yeah, you can hide everything else with your coat," He shouldn't have been in such high spirits, but he was hoping some of it would rub off onto his lover.

There was no telling when his mood would dip into the negative.

Things were tense.

Angeles
Roots began naming what he thought was the better parts of her and she smirked, shaking her head,

"I'm going to cover everything else up," she said, turning to get the mentioned article of clothing from the upstairs, "Roshi may have been a hero of Earth, but I hated him for good reason when I was an angel."

She was up the stairs, making a motion with her hand that she would be right back down, and was soon back down, buttoning up her coat to hide everything up to her neck.

"Alright, are we fading there?"

He was reminded of how old the Angeles was-at times, it seemed that she was younger than the Saiyan was. Perhaps it was the fact that a part of her was still less than a single earth year in age.

Roots had to wonder, though, what was so bad about Master Roshi? Was he really as perverted as he had been led to believe? The Saiyan pushed it out of his mind as she ascended up the stairs and then swiveled around and stepped off as she came back down.

He frowned softly, but nodded.

"It's fastest, and the most discrete,"

Angeles nodded, slipping her hands into her pockets, "I assume he lives on the same island he's always lived," she stated simple, and opened a fade portal behind Roots to allow him to lead the way, since he was the one who knew Roshi personally it seemed.

On the one hand, she was excited to finally meet Roshi.

On the other hand, she very much was not.

Roots
And all of a sudden, he heard the sound of the ocean. He could hear soft music, some kind of rock, playing from a radio inside the pink house with the words Kame House on the side of it. Roots had not been here since...well, since he had learned the Turtle Hermit Destruction Wave from the man. He certainly hoped there wouldn't be any trouble.

"You uh...want me to knock on the door, or..."
He blushed softly. What he was implying was that Roshi would likely be much happier to see Angeles' literally angelically beautiful face rather than Roots' tired Saiyan mug.

"Wonder where Oolong and the gang are,"

Angeles smirked, "I'll knock," she said softly, walking around Roots to get to the door. She heard him muse behind her as she got to the door.

"Possibly here, possibly elsewhere," she said, knowing exactly who he was speaking of, though having never met them. She lifted her hand and rapped lightly on the door.

"Master Roshi, are you home?" she called, adding a pleasant female voice to hopefully help entice the man to open the door.

He let out a quick sigh of relief and stepped behind Angeles, letting her walk up to the door. She quirked a few more adorable phrases, and Roots managed to find himself entranced by his significant other in trying times.

She really was something.

Her voice was song-like, and the Saiyan knew this was to entice the Turtle Hermit even further. Would he bite?...

Master Roshi
"Eh-eh-eh, is that Angeles I hear?" The door swung open, revealing the old man. His attire was the same as always, a orange covering coat with blue pants, and black shoes. His shades covered his eyes. He was smiling as he opened the door, and when he looked past Angeles, his face curled into a frown.

"And that's Roots I smell. The old man turned away from the both of them and stepped inside.

"Come on in, you too. We've got a lot to talk about," Angeles' psychic side would be able to tell both her mind and Roots' were being read, if only softly-enough for the ancient hermit to perhaps already know why they were there.

Angeles was a bit surprised to hear her name, blinking in shock then smiling fondly. She shouldn't have been surprised, "it is Master Roshi," she confirmed and he opened the door. His smile flipped when he saw Roots then begrudgingly seemed to lead them into his home. Angeles chuckled, folding her wings so that she could fit through the door and leaned down to Roots.

"I think you smell good," she whispered her assurance with a loving smile.

As she stepped in, she removed her boots then followed behind master Roshi, being sure to mind her wings to not knock everything over.

"Where are the others?" she decided to ask, though he likely had garnered the question Roots had earlier from his mind already.

The Saiyan chuckled-Master Roshi was certainly a character. He walked in after the Angel, grinning when she leaned in and whispered to him, and sat down on one of the chairs he had set out in the main room along with the couch.

"Yeah, Roshi, where's everyone else? Oolong and...all them," He wasn't sure how to address the remaining members of Kame House anymore.
