Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. I Swear to Drunk I'm Not God; Daze, Andariel

Kamrun
Kamrun really couldn't help but feel a spring in her step as she saw the desert village come into view. She smiled and hurried the rest of the way in, no hesitation in turning her steps to the bar and almost skipped in. She quickly scanned, but didn't see who she was looking for immediately. Not discouraged, she smiled and slid onto a stool at the bar.

"Hey Bruce," she said happily, crossing her arms on the bar, "how's everything?" it wasn't the question she really wanted to ask, but she was not going to be rude. She liked Bruce just as much... just not in the same way. Not that she was telling Bruce how she felt about Daze, that still made her stomach twist a bit, like she was plotting to steal his son away from him.

Still she swiveled in her chair. She had a special gift she wanted to share with Daze in her backpack, it had been expensive, she was down to literally only the capsules she actually needed to trek across the world, and no zeni whatsoever, but it was going to be completely worth it.

Daze
"Everything.. is fine. Weird, but fine," Bruce smiled. "Daze did some renovating and... well, it's different. We had to reinforce the building a bit. He's god a good heart, but he didn't understand how the infrastructure of the building... well, you will just have to see for yourself," Bruce sighed.

"Sorry, I rambled. How have you been, miss Kamrun?" Bruce inquired.

Above Bruce, which was Daze's room, no longer had light peering through the cracks of the wooden ceiling. Something was covering up the wood in his room now.

Kamrun blinked in confusion when he said things were weird, and he began to explain. Kamrun tilted her head and looked around to see if she could see what he meant, but nothing really seemed different.

Still he changed the subject and smiled, "I've been alright, the little bean I planted from that senzu grew, already had a little bean of it's own," she smiled like a proud mother.

"Other than the remodling and all that, how've you two been? Business good?"

Daze
"As good as it can go out in the desert," Bruce chuckled. "Naw, it's doing great. We haven't had any bandit raids in almost half a year, they've all been too busy with locations Daze doesn't live in," he sighed.

"Reckless, but most the villagers here owe him their lives," he affirmed. "I'm glad you managed to get something out of the bean. I heard it was special, sounds like voodoo stuff to me," Bruce admitted, not liking magic much.

Kamrun smiled, swiveling slightly on the bar stool, mostly because it was fun but also because she was happy. She reached into her pocket and pulled out the small bean and set it on the counter, "here you go," she said and with one finger slid it towards him.

"Might sound like voodoo to you," she said with a slight teasing grin, "but it can save someone's life. Should keep it around, just in case."

She retracted her hand to go back to leaning against the counter and looked at the stairs.

"So... um, is Daze upstairs?" she asked, trying not to sound too excited by the possible affirmative answer.

"I'll just trust you on that. I'll put it, um. Not with the other non-voodoo beans," Bruce smiled, taking the bean and placing it in an empty jar on the top shelf. "Though, if you need it. You just let me know. It's yours in a pinch," he added.

"And yeah... he's up stairs. Probably sleeping still," Bruce shook his head. "Go wake him up if you like."

The room, if Kamrun went up there, had changed quite a bit. Black marble walls, crimson colored carpet, a large circle bed with red satin sheets. The whole place had a small makeover. Even the window was in tact... kind of. The broken one was still there, just behind a new one-way mirror.

Kamrun was glad that he accepted the bean, and he told her where Daze was, probably still sleeping. She smiled and slid off the stool, almost heading to the stairs and pausing and said, "I need a glass."

She knocked lightly on the door once she made it upstairs. When there was no response, she opened it and peeked in. She had to open it a little more and sure enough, there was Daze, asleep on his bed. Smiling she slipped in and shut the door behind her, slowly and quietly. She tip-toed over to where he was, peering around the room and understanding what Bruce meant.

She got by his bed and smiled down at him fondly. Reaching up she tucked some hair behind her ear, looking away from him she looked around, then slid the backpack from her shoulder and opened it up, making sure to move the zipper slowly so that it was quiet. She reached in and took out a box. It was black, very clean and had something of a gold ribbon on it and gold lettering:

Daniel Jackson's
Sonata
Select
West City Whiskey

Kamrun smiled and put this on the nearest flat surface to Daze, along with the glass Bruce gave her. She then reached in and took out a small notebook and pencil, flipping past several pages of scribbled notes and doodles until she found a blank page. She wrote on the page and carefully tore it from the spiral binding, setting the note by the box.

From Kamrun.

Smiling at Daze again, she set the notebook and pencil in the bag, not daring to zip it closed and just shouldered it, backing away quietly, then slipping out the door and slowly closing it.

With a happy sigh she walked back down the hallway and down the stairs.

"He was sleeping," she said, quietly as if Daze would hear her from down there. She tapped her knuckles against the counter, "mind if I grab some water before I go?"

"Oh, is he?" he questioned. "Yeah, one sec," Bruce said with a smile.

Bruce walked over to the kitchen area and took a right, getting just out of view for a second. Suddenly there was a loudest of banging noises coming from inside the kitchen. Very loud. Almost like things were falling over or something. If Kamrun were to go investigate, she'd see Bruce standing on a step ladder, banging a cast iron frying pan against the ceiling, which was directly below Daze's room repeatedly.

"Ugh.... what the hell Bruce!?" a moaning could be heard, just seconds after Bruce gave pause, from above.

"Oh look, he's not sleeping anymore. How convenient. Still need that water?" Bruce asked with a broad smile on his face as he walked bak toward the kitchen.

Bruce was going to get her a water and she gave him a grateful smile, when he went a bit past the kitchen though and out of sight, she was curious and walked down the bar to where she could see him. And her eyes widened in horror.

Her hands shot up to her mouth with the first bang, and continued to cover the lower part of her face as the banging continued. The banging only stopped when daze's voice came through the floor and Bruce got off his ladder.

Kamrun looked from the ceiling to Bruce as he came up to her smiling, announcing Daze was not asleep and asking if she still wanted water.

Her hands dropped, clasping as fists against her chest where her heart was fluttering. Suddenly she was nervous, "um."

She looked at the ceiling, then back to Bruce.

"Oh no...."

"No? You're not thirsty? Well, I suppose Daze has some questions about whatever it is you left in his room," Bruce said with a grin, not knowing what she left but had enough intuition and experience in his years to get the idea she had done something.

Bruce was giving Kamrun a metaphorical motivational push. He could tell something was bugging her. He's been on this world for a considerably longer time than Kamrun and Daze. He knows what he sees. Well, he assumes what he sees is what he knows.

Kamrun
Kamrun blinked as Bruce twisted her words and told her to go back to Daze's room. She swallowed nervously and looked at the stairs now with some apprehension. Regardless she walked over to them and back. She glanced at Bruce, wanting to glare at him for his deviousness but likely not pulling off the right expression. She used the handrail as she walked back up and quietly walked to the door.

She lifted a hand, then retracted it to her chest where she nervously fiddled with her fingers. She made uncomfortable noises in her throat before lifting a hand and knocking lightly on the door. She then lowered her hand and opened the door, just a crack, saying quietly, "hey... Daze... um... sorry Bruce woke you up."

Her voice was barely a whisper as she peered in, hoping that he had maybe just gone back to sleep.

Daze
Sadly, for Kamrun, Daze had just gotten up to get changed. He had fallen asleep in rather uncomfortable clothing and opted out of continuing his day in them. He was just pulling up his pants around his waist as she peered in, looking up at Kamrun with a big dumb grin.

"Oi! Bean Babe!" Daze said while zipping up his pants without a button. "Shit, didn't know all that noise was you, would've come down," he said, not hearing her blame Bruce for the sound.

Daze hasn't noticed the present left for him yet. Detail wasn't something he was akin to noticing.

"It wasn't me!" Kamrun protested, but smiled, "I was trying to let you sleep, Bruce was the one who though you needed a wake up call."

She opened the door and slipped in, completely unconcerned that she had walked in on him dressing. She glanced over and saw that the box had been utouched, Daze appeared to not even have noticed it. Biting her lower lip she tried to casually sidle over to it to grab and attempt to maybe slip back into her bag. She could give it to him later, when he had a morning that didn't involve a cast iron skillet against his floor.

"So, uh," she said looking around, trying to shift the box to be more hidden behind her, "I like what you did with the room," she was trying to be distracting.

She pursed her lips and nodded, looking around, "very gothic."

"What? Gothic? Naw. It's cool. Like. Um. Jazz. Right?" Daze affirmed with a nod.

He had only taken it from Terminus the other day. Maybe it was yesterday. He was bad with time. He couldn't recall the exact time frame. It was all good though. What mattered was the here and now.

"Wait... is it really gothic?" he asked, buying into her bait, being completely distracted from the conversation. "I didn't want gothic, man. Maybe I should've picked the other one instead," Daze huffed.

"Oh well, what brings you back over, need a bed to crash in?" Daze winked.

Kamrun cocked an eyebrow, "I don't know much about jazz," she admitted, "just because it's Gothic doesn't mean it's not cool," she added quickly, not trying to discourage him from something he liked.

She did however run into a problem. The box was at waist level, her bag was still on her shoulders. She wasn't flexible enough to discreetly lift it to the bag without turning around.

She was able to get the note and slip it into her pocket with minimal hand movement.

She grinned when Daze asked why she was there, and she kept herself a bit stiffly standing between him and the box, "no, no I'm not here to stall your nice be bed," she said, trying to think of another reason that she could say other than 'I snuck into your room while you were asleep, left you a present, and tried to bail before you woke up but Bruce caught me and woke you up anyway,' "I uh... Was... Aw crap," she wasn't good at lying.

She shifted and tipped the box so that it was in her hands and she looked at it, "I came to give you this, but you were asleep, so I was going to let you sleep, but then Bruce woke you up with a freaking frying pan and so now it... Doesn't seem like such a nice gift."

She frowned, her eyes looking at Daze full of apology, then shifted and extended the box to him, looking at the ground with guilt.

"A present? What'ch'ya gettin' me a present for?" Daze asked, walking up to Kamrun.

He began to bend over a bit, tilting his head so he could get a look at her face at a parallel. Wit his hands resting firmly in his pockets, Daze gave her a big shit eating grin. It was difficult to see his eyes with the orange goggles resting over his eyes.

"Sooo... what'ch'ya get me?" Daze inquired, tilting the box side to side. "Feels heavy," he teased, taking his sweet time opening it.

He was getting some amusement out of Kamrun's reaction.

Kamrun almost laughed at his confusion over her getting him a gift, but she was still feeling bad about the circumstances that she had caused so just pouted a bit. He tilted the box back and forth and she really hoped he wouldn't hold it to his ear and shake it. That grin of his was contagious though, and she began to smile as he opened the box, asking her about it.

"It's a surprise," she scoffed, though what the gift was said right on the outside of the box, "it's also fragile so don't drop it," she really hoped he didn't drop it. She was beginning to feel excited again for him to see what it was, it was possible that he wouldn't even know the full value of the gift but that wasn't what was important.

Daze
Daze stopped teasing the box and began to open it. He could tell it was fragile due to its weight. So he was careful. As careful as a reckless clutz could be. The box quickly fell to the floor when he pulled the bottle out. It made a hollow sounding thud, making the only noise in the room outside of Daze's astonished gasp.

"Daaaaaaaamn..." he said, stressing the word, following it up with a whistle. "This is some fancy shit. Like. Real fancy," he said again, examining the bottle. "Wow, Bean Babe. This is... it's too much," he said with a deep hearted sigh. "I can't take this from you, you mean too much for me to just take from you like this," he said, looking up at her with an expression of guilt.

Daze didn't like to take things from his mates. They existed for him to take care of. Not the other way around.

Kamrun smiled at his expression as he stared at the bottle. His reaction was even better and she stepped forward, closer to him to also look at the bottle. She hadn't opened the box so she honestly had no idea what the contents looked like.

Then Daze didn't want it.

"No," she cooed with a smile and put her hand over his that held the bottle, "you're not taking it from me I'm giving it to you. That's what a gift is."

She smiled and took a step to lean over and snatch the glass, leaning back to Daze and holding it up to him, "I know you just woke up but you probably don't care."

She grinned, "go on, try it, if you don't like it I'll take it back."

"No, no. It's not that. I love it. Shit, it's perfect. It's just... too much. I'm not good at receivin' gifts, ya know?" Daze admitted.

He held the bottle up to the light from the one-way mirror window hybrid. He tilted his head to the side and began to smile a bit. He began to nod to himself before turning to Kamrun with a grin.

"Alright, I'll accept your wonderful gift... but only if you drink it with me," Daze smiled, tilting his head a bit and lifting a single brow.
