| Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!
Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.
We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.
We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.
We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. We love new members and are a very welcoming bunch of people.

Kamrun
|
It had taken a while, a long while, of continuously bugging Bruce, teasingly and persistently, until the older man finally gave in, and let her help with some chores. She insisted it wasn't repayment for all the times he didn't let her pay for drinks or food or the occasional room when she needed it, but it really was. Everyone in this village pulled their weight one way or another, the least she could do was clean some dishes and sweep he floors.
She had, of course, come to visit Daze, but Bruce said he hadn't seen him in at least a couple days. It seemed Kamrun had some tough luck trying to catch Daze while he was home, but she figured he was off living one of his six reasons somewhere and would be back eventually. This time she was planning on staying a while, at least until he was back, which would mean she would need a room, and food, and drink.
Hence why she was cleaning the dishes.
Her chores were accompanied by singing, turned out a few songs she had learned from her father, Bruce also knew, she could tell because he would smile nostalgically, sometimes hum along or sing under his breath.
The sun had set a bit ago, long enough ago that only the horizon was still a light shade of grey, and the warm glow of electric lights lit the empty bar.
Kamrun was just finishing the dishes, her jacket tied around her waist and her arms wet nearly to the straps of her tanktop, and she was drying them and passing them to Bruce who put them away, and she kept track of what went where so that next time she could do that part herself too.
That was when they heard something outside, and Kamrun's light-green wings fluttered as she looked at the door curiously. Could it be Daze? She didn't think he'd be the one to walk up to a door, she was expecting him to fade in to his room and probably pass out, and then she'd find him the next morning. But someone was definitely walking up to the door.
"I'll go see," she said with a smile, drying off her arms and jogging to the door.
"Hey!" Bruce called after her, frustrated with her recklessness, just running up to see who would be outside after hours, often angry drunks demanding more booze after last call would throw empty bottles at the door. She would fair far less better than his door.
Still she happily opened the door, yellow light pouring out onto the dirt road, and peered outside, grinning when she saw familiar white hair.
"Daze!" she cried happily and ran out, the door swinging shut behind her, and though the electric lights still colored squares of ground on the road, the world was plunged in a light silver of the sliver crescent moon.
She didn't have far to jog, before slowly coming to a stop, still some feet from the figure she had seen approaching. Her jovial smiled slowly faded, and her brow bent as he eyes stared at the man in the darkness, and her voice questioned out, worried, "Daze?"
The man in front of her, unique dark skin, familiar golden eyes, and unmistakable white hair, did not seem like Daze at all.
Something was very wrong.

Daze
|
It was a long jorney under a blistering sun. Angeles had given Daze a lot of room between his home and where she dumped him. It was smart. It was for his own good. He needed the space. Needed the time. For hours he laid in the sun, baking. Just torturing himself. He felt like he deserved it. No. He knew he deserved it.
He was a terrible friend. And whatever he was to Machi... he was even worse.
"I don't deserve my mates... I don't..." Daze muttered in a whimper past his dry lips.
A pulse of magic flung out of his body straight to the atmosphere, spreading out and around the world. Breaking the spell that bound his mates to him. He was now officially the loneliest man in the world. At least in his mind and heart. Never had he felt so alone and never had he actually cared about it.
It's uncertain what got Daze to his feet, but some compelling force got him moving. One leg after the other. It could be delirium from the dehydration. Maybe he longed for a familiar place. Maybe a lost child just wanted the closest thing to a father he had. Not even Daze knew. Just something pulled him home. He knew it was time. At least time for him to go to bed. He was just so... tired.
His body was laced in magic white spider-web like-silk, hair elongated from the same material. From a distance, he looked like a different man. But anyone who knew him would recognize him almost immediately. Despite the appearance, the material did well at cooling him. The white color reflected the light and kept him from over-heating. His magic covered the rest, keeping him pumped with just enough energy to make it near home. At least close enough to see it.
"Hey, Daze, that you?" A familiar voice called. "Damn kid, you look different each time I see you," an old man and resident of the village called out from his car. "I was just headin' back, hop on in, it ain't safe out in the desert," he said, leaning over to open the door to the dark green hovercar.
Daze, not knowing what else to do... go in. Leaning against the car door, arms wrapped against his chest.
"You don't look so great man, girlfriend break up with ya?" the old man joked, trying to relate in some way to Daze's pain. His words fell deftly to Daze's subconscious. He was just a noise surrounded by bunch of other noises.
"Here ya are, Bruce's place sure is lookin' better," he said, pulling up to the bar, his yellow high beams illuminating the bar window. "Say hi to Bruce for me, huh? Don't let him forget about that whiskey he promised me either," the older man laughed, pulling away and back to his own home after Daze got out of the car.
He took maybe two steps forward before he saw Kamrun come out, excited to see him.
He smiled briefly, but it quickly faded, looking down to hide his face behind his now long hair.
"Hey..." was all he could manage, holding the side of his left arm with his right hand.

Kamrun
|
"Hey," she said softly, trying to smile but still worried. The way he was holding himself was wrong, it was Daze, but different. She stepped forward, smile again gone from her face. The adrenaline from her excitement gone, she could see the changed, outside of the tight white shirt he was wearing, which in of itself was odd. The dark roots were gone from his hair, it was longer, he seemed lost.
"Daze...," she said again bending to try to look in his eyes through his hair, "are you okay?"
Her voice was gentle, and it would only be a few more steps to close the distance between them, and she lifted her hands to touch him and check him over as she asked, "are you hurt?"
She was certain there was little in the world that could hurt him with any kind of lasting wounds, but he definitely seemed to be in a great deal of pain, "what happened?"

Daze
|
Daze winced from her touch, taking a step back, tears welling in his eyes. He felt so betrayed, lost, confused and pitiful all at the same time. It wasn't Roots' fault. No. The world betrayed him. He felt like the entire world conspired against him to create this situation. It was irrational and unrealistic. However, this set of emotions was new for him. He didn't know how to handle them.
"I..." Daze stuttered, taking a step back with a heavy breath.
He turned away from Kamrun. He didn't know how to handle it. He just wanted to curl up into a ball and die. Bury himself in the sand and let it all be over with. This hopeless despair was tearing him apart and he didn't know what to do.
"I'm... not okay.." Daze managed, turning back to face Kamrun, reaching out to her with a trembling hand.

Kamrun
|
Kamrun gasped slightly and withdrew her arms quickly back to her person. He had winced when she touched him, like she had hurt him and worry turned nearly to panic. His eyes glistened and she shifted to move closer, but he stepped back. She stopped dead, thinning her lips in worry.
He turned away, and she shifted so that she would still be in his vision, show that she was still there.
"Daze," she whispered, seeing how much pain he was in.
He looked at her again, admitting he was not okay in a broken voice and reached out to her.
"Daze what's wrong?" she asked, reaching out for his hand, which was shaking, "tell me what happened," she whispered, looking from his hand to his face, where she could see a single golden eyes through strands of white.
She tried, very slowly, to take his hand, covered in the same white material as the rest of his body.

Daze
|
Daze's hand trembled in hers, he wanted to touch her. He wanted the comfort of a friend, a companion... but he felt so vulnerable that the mere touch began to ignite his flesh with a burning sensation. Even through the silky material coating his body. He tried to fight through it, but his face was visibly in pain.
"I..." he choked on his words, pulling his arm back, holding it with his other hand. "I'm not okay..." was all he could manage again.
He wasn't ready to talk. Not yet. He needed time. The world felt so wrong and vile. Adaptation was never his strong suit. He was a stubborn mule, stuck in his ways and the world changed around him without his permission. It was going to take time for him to adjust. He wanted to be around Kamrun. He wanted to hear her voice, feel her touch.
But he just felt so disgusted with himself.
"I'm sorry...." he muttered, feeling like he may have hurt Kamrun somehow. Angeles told him he was hurting his friends. He had to make sure he apologized in case she meant Kamrun.

Kamrun
|
He snatched his hand away, again as if her touch hurt him, and she withdrew hers quickly so that she would not prolong the pain. Kamrun was at a loss of how to help if she couldn't touch, half of her healing didn't come fro magic, but a hand comforting hand on the shoulder, a gentle embrace, things it seemed Daze so desperately needed, but it hurt to do.
"Okay Daze I, I won't touch you," she said gently, easing and shifting again to be in his vision, "I won't touch, okay?"
"Don't be sorry," she whispered and tried to look him in the eye, "you don't need to be sorry... I.. I don't know what happened, I'm sorry I wasn't there, but I'm here now, Daze?"
She almost reached for him again but stopped mid-way, bringing her hand back again, "I'm... I'm here, Bruce is here, you don't have to worry. You...," she took a short breath and looked around, she hated seeing Daze so lost, "you're home Daze," she said and looked at him again, "you're home."

Daze
|
"Okay..." Daze said before weakly taking a deep breath. "Is... Bruce okay..?" Daze managed, looking up at Kamrun with a worried expression as if something horrible could happen to him at any second.
He looked so concerned for the well-being of Bruce and Kamrun despite his own sorry state. However his curiosity was quickly quelled by the crushing weight of helplessness. What if they weren't alright? What could he have done? Angeles was right. He should have never gone to Demon World. If he didn't then none of this could have happened. It was his fault.
He didn't listen. He was brash, reckless and only thinking of himself like usual and now he's paying the price.
"I... want to lay down..." Daze whimpered.

Kamrun
|
"Bruce is okay," Kamrun assured and bit her lip in worry. What had happened? This was something she had never seen in Daze, even when that woman had made him different somehow he was still confident, not the same but... not this.
She watched him struggle again and hurt to see him like this. He whimpered and her reflex was to hold his shoulders, and she had to snap her hands back to her chest again.
"Okay Daze," she whispered, holding out her hand again, but only as a visual guide to lead him towards the door, first turning, and then stepping backwards slowly making sure he would follow, "let's go lie down."
She bit her lip again in worry, concern written so boldly across her face she couldn't even try to smile to try to comfort him.
"Bruce is waiting inside."

Daze
|
"Ok..." Daze said, swallowing what felt like the most painful of gulps he's ever managed. It was painful looking. The lump in his throat made even breathing hard. But he managed to overcome it enough to let out a sigh and follow Kamrun inside.
He noticed a few things were different. He half expected the place to be torn to pieces. But it was clean. It was well preserved. Someone had been helping Bruce while he was gone. He turned to look at Kamrun and tried to smile, but his lips stopped halfway... they didn't have the strength to manage it.
"Oi, Daze, where ya been?" Bruce chimed, in a chipper mood.
Daze turned to look at Bruce with a poor attempt at a smile. He wanted to be happy. But he felt like there was a gaping hole in his heart, a pit in his stomach that has no end. He had no appetite despite not eating for close to twenty-four hours now.
"Daze..." Bruce muttered, seeing the cracked lips from baking in the desert.
"I...." Daze managed before looking away from Bruce toward the ground, using his hair to hide his face before slumbering towards the stairs.

Kamrun
|
Kamrun kept leading Daze towards the bar, only turning away from him to open the door and lead him into the light and the warmth. She shifted and held the door open for him letting it swing closed behind him, rushing over only to grab a cup as Bruce greeted his boy, and got nothing in response save a weak smile.
Kamrun shot Bruce a worried look then moved back in front of Daze, again walking backwards with a hand held out, guiding him carefully up the stairs, shooting Bruce a final look, before the older man was out of sight because of the stairway.
"Almost there Daze," she encouraged, getting to the landing and turning down the hall. She shuffled back to his door and opened it, swinging int inward and slipping inside, not even bothering to turn the light on.
"Here we are," she whispered, and stepped out of his way to allow him to move where he wanted. She moved to where she could set the glass, and used her magic to fill it with water, not too much, least it spill over, and the white light from the moon coming through the window caught and reflected in the glass and the ripples of purest water.
She stopped and dried her hand on her jacket, lifting the glass and returning to Daze.
"Here," she whispered, holding the glass out to him by the brim so that he could take the bottom without accidentally touching her.

Daze
|
Daze reached for the glass of water, with two trembling hands, spilling water as he brought it to his cracked, dry lips. He managed to get enough to matter in his mouth, choking a bit before swallowing. He didn't feel thirst, but he knew he needed to drink. He was dehydrated and needed something to replinish him.
"T-thank you..." he mumbled, moving to set the glass down on the nightstand before stumbling to the bed, sitting on it's edge. "Will... you stay with me?" Daze asked, looking up at Kamrun with welled eyes.
He didn't want to be alone. Not right now. Despite the burning sensation caused from touch... he wanted to be with someone. No. Not just someone. He wanted to be with her.
Only her.
Of all the people in the world, she was the only one he wanted to see right now.

Kamrun
|
Kamrun flinched when he choked on the water at first, but he recovered and drank enough, setting the glass down and sitting on its edge.
"You're welcome," she said softly. She stayed standing where she was, clasping her hands in front of her and just looking at him, thin lipped at a complete loss of what to do, and no clue how it happened. She felt pain in her chest.
"Of course I'll stay," she whispered, moving over and sitting on the edge of the bed with hi, her wings spreading and folding again to accommodate the new position. She leaned forward so that she could see his face, trying to smile for him, then failing and looking at his hands, and his skin, wondering what the white stuff was. She had thought it was a shirt at first, but when she held his hand, it had felt like individual threads, like hair almost, but much softer.
She looked back to his eyes, biting her lower lip, thinking about Bruce still downstairs, probably confused and worried as hell, and then smiling again.
"I'll stay. Do you want anything to eat?"

Daze
|
"No... I'm not hungry," Daze managed without much strain.
His body had finally given into his exhaustion. He was home now. He didn't need to try anymore. His bed was right there. He could just lay down now. He could just let it all slip away. He couldn't fight it, he began to crawl into the bed after laying back on it from his upright position. He crawled to the right side of the bed, laying on his side, watching Kamrun's back.
"I just want to lie down..." Daze managed, looking at Kamrun with a longing.
He wanted to feel normal again.

Kamrun
|
Daze wasn't hungry, that she could understand, "okay," she said, smiling gently as he began to crawl into the bed, moving to one side and laying down.
"Okay," she said again, having gently turned to watch him move. She turned onto her knees, moving her hands as if tossing a blanket, creating one in mid air to lightly fall over Daze.
She caught herself reaching to run her fingers through his hair and snatched her hand back with a small gasp, and an apologetic smile.
He looked at her with longing, and she shifted, laying down on her side on the other side of the bed, facing Daze and keeping her hands close to her. She tried to smile at him comfortingly, and whispered, "you can sleep Daze, I'll be right here if you need me."

Daze
|
"Okay... I just... I don't want to be alone right now," Daze managed, closing his eyes for a few seconds. He reached out to touch her hand hesitantly, recoiling a number of times along the way. He wanted to make sure she was really there and this wasn't some trick. Some fabrication of the mind that he couldn't see through.
"I'm not a good a person..." he mumbled in a whispered tone, as if confessing to himself.
Or more accurately, punishing himself.

Kamrun
|
Kamrun watched him from where she lay as he whispered and she said softly, "you're not alone."
Her eyes shifted to his hand as it gingerly reached towards her, hesitating and pulling back as if touching her would burn him and he knew it.
"Daze," she whispered, looking to his eyes again, "if it hurts, don't force it. Let it heal at its pace. It's alright."
She blinked and shifted her head, reaching behind her and pulling the elastic out of her hair then put it on her wrist. She would use it to remind herself to not touch him either, until he was healed.
Then he said he was a bad person, and she looked in his eyes again, her hair falling over her shoulder a bit now that it was free.
Her eyes searched his face for understanding, and then said simply, "I think you're a good person. Sometimes you make bad decisions," she smiled a bit, "like getting drunk and turning people into fairies," the smile faded but remained slightly in just the corners, "but you have a good heart. Remember, freeing the slave girl from Terminus? That was a good thing."
She smiled again, lightly, trying to help him remember something good.

Daze
|
"Terminus...?" Daze said with widened eyes. "Oh god... I..." He moaned, closing his eyes tight, tears running down his face.
He remembered what Goemon and Angeles were saying. He apparently had rained stone and earth on Terminus. Innocent people... people he had no intentions of hurting were killed because of him. Just like that stranger who approached him at the City Ruin. It was one thing to kill someone while defending yourself and doing so consciously... but to take life without realizing you're doing it?
No. That wasn't him. It wasn't fair. He didn't want to do that. It was all a mistake. A lie. It had to be. Like some kind of bad dream.
"I.. I just want to sleep..." Daze muttered, too exhausted to keep this up. He had been fighting his emotions for so long now.
His hand finally made it's way to Kamrun's, resting just the tip of two fingers on her hand. He just wanted to feel her. Know she's there. He wanted to know she was okay. He didn't do anything to her. Or Bruce. They were okay.

Kamrun
|
What she had said did not help, instead, it hurt more, and Daze began to weep. Kamrun winced and reached for him again, snatching her hand back and flicking the elastic against her wrist, feeling the sting fade away, and kept her hands to herself.
"I'm sorry Daze," she whispered, and he said he just wanted to sleep and she nodded, "okay Daze," and she reached only to tug the blanket a little more over his shoulder,, careful not to touch him, "I'll be right here if you need me, when you wake up."
She moved her hand back to her side of the bed, watching his face for the pain to go away and the sleep to take over and finally give him some rest. She felt his touch and looked at his hand near hers, just two fingers on hers. She bit her lip, and hoped she was subtle in letting her healing energy flow into him through the touch. She wasn't sure what was wrong with him, if anything, if his hurt was entirely emotional, but she could see his lips were cracked from heat. That small pain, at the very least she could heal.
The rest of the pain would have to be healed another way. And much more slowly.

Daze
|
"Okay..." Daze mumbled, eyes still closed as he slipped into a slumber.
Some arbitrary amount of time passed before a tapping at the door filled the awkward silence from an unusually silent sleeping Daze. He was normally a lot more restless in his sleep. Moving, rolling, grunting, snoring, sleep talking.. the works. But tonight... he was very somber.
"Miss Kamrun?" Bruce called from a cracked door, daring not to come in in case she wasn't decent.
It wasn't proper to enter a room with a closed door while a lady was in it.
