Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Zuus
Zuus knew his way through the desert now. Beforehand, cutting through this route on the way to the north would result in him getting lost. But now he knew his way around. It would be a good place to stop on his way to catching up with his team. By now they should have reached Goemon's hideout. Now he just had to hope that the wraiths weren't following him. Once was coincidence. Twice was a pattern.

If another one of those creatures attacked him here, then it was obvious that they were following him. At that point, it would be too risky to catch up with Glacius and Goemon. He'd have to get a message sent to them some other way.

But still, aside from the sonic boom of the end of his flight, there shouldn't be anything that attracted unwanted attention. He would stop here, wait, and if nothing happened, move on.

Zuus was already calculating and preparing for the worst.

The attack was evaded but the rider did not lose sight of his target. "You are correct I am not riding a horse." Evading the attack by turning to fog again he reformed on Roots other side. Swinging his eldritch blade at the saiyan again the wraith was not deterred by words.

ahead of them the talked about horse also appeared from nothing rear aimed towards Roots who was hurtling quickly towards it. "That is my horse." Then it kicked at the saiyan with its hooves.

Roots
"Dammit. Fast, so fast," Roots knew his game. Before he had even appeared the Saiyan was guessing which side he would appear on and as such, he again ducked cleanly underneath and blade and shot back a few yards, preparing to launch a ki blast at the Seeker.

Poor, poor Roots.

The last thing he heard was 'horse', before the supernatural creature slammed it's hooves into the Saiyan. With a pained howl he screeched towards the earth below, luckily, at this point dozens of miles from Oasis. Roots could not stop the momentum entirely but he did catch himself on the ground with his hands and his feet.

"...Fuckin' dammit," He groaned, picking himself up, feeling at his now sore-chest.

"Who the hell is this guy?" He wasted no more time and tossed his cloak away from him. It landed with a heavy crunch several yards away from him. He clenched both fists, feeling his power.

Zuus
And now Zuus got involved.

He had no issues with this creature fighting Groot, even though it thought it was Enragement Child. Sure, it was wrong, but it still seemed fairly even.

When the double-team happened, however, then it was no longer fair.

A ki energy ball appeared in his hand which soon crackled with lightning. The spear formed and Zuus chucked it at the hoofed creature.

The wraith turned to fog again as he plummeted towards the saiyan at alarming speed. The ki blast passing harmlessly through again as he went. Meanwhile the horse dissolved back into the mist again with a snort circling the target of its master.

Materializing next to the saiyan again he struck for the body with his eldritch blade. "Stop the struggle cursed lupin before you anger me."

Roots
At least there wasn't a horse anymore to worry about.

Roots felt his claws as he clenched his fists. Zuus had joined the fight, and the Saiyan decided that they were indeed far enough away from any living beings. The Seeker came for him again, materializing next to him, and swung at him with his weapon.

Roots was ready.

His claws came up, deflecting the attack, knocking Valinar's weapon away and he wasted no time in launching a counter-attack with his other hand, throwing a ki-cloaked punch at Valinar's chest.

Zuus
There was still the horse. Groot might not have noticed it, but Zuus did. The creature's mount had turned into the mist that was surrounding them. Which meant that it was all around, not just from one direction.

This one was smarter then the other one. It was conserving it's bigger attacks for when needed. And he still couldn't get a read on it's power. What was the point of having his sensors upgraded to such a way if they just couldn't work?

Well, might as well see just what this one was capable of, and start an opening salvo.

"Dodon Ray!" Zuus declared, firing the energy blast towards him.

Allowing the claws of the saiyan to hit him the attacks were avoided by his body simply passing through. "My patience thins and your friend tempts me Roots. How can one who hates you ally with you."

Swinging his sword to deflect the ray fired at him he did not even flinch as if deflected towards the sky and away from them. Then he stabbed for the guts of Roots.

Roots
Roots was afraid.

Somehow, stupidly enough, not of the Seeker, no, but that Zuus might perhaps recognize him. The Saiyan had been transforming over the last several seconds and his hair did grow, although Roots did a very good job of shaking his hair in a way that kept the mop on top of his head from resembling anything like his old haircut.

He answered Valinar.

"I ain't this Roots guy, alright? It's Groot!" The Seeker came at him with his weapon and Roots did not deflect his attack, but rather, disappeared in an after-image.

He was getting really tired of this guy disappearing in fog on him. He'd try something else. He came at him from his backside, wielding his stun club. Cloaked with electricity powered by a core Roots built himself, in one hand he swung the techno-weapon at Valinar.

Zuus
The android was getting confused. He kept referring to Groot as Roots, which would mean that Groot was Enragement Child. But he wasn't fitting in with any of the projected or calculated appearances set up. Though, as he was changing, the android was slowing slightly. He was really starting to look like Enragement Child as he turned into a monster.

Like at the tournament.

He said he wasn't a relation, but this was a bit of a coincidence. Though...he had heard that it was a natural things Saiyans did, to turn into a monster.

"This... is getting... illogical."

His gaze was shifting back from Groot to the wraith and back again.

Zuus didn't do anything yet. He needed to try and calculate and work through this problem.

Not bothering to continue the conversation up the wraith spun to track Roots as his first attack missed. Clearly able to sense the location of his prey the undead lunged again with his blade for the saiyan.

Taking the baton attack to the chest. Once again it went through the form of the undead harmlessly as his own blade went for the guts again.

With another snort the horse also manifested behind the saiyan kicking at his back.

Roots
Roots was getting very tired of simply phasing through this creature. It forced the Saiyan to react quickly, using his free claw to bash away the Seeker's terrifying blade. If not for his ears and nose he would not have known the man's horse was coming at him again.

But Roots knew this time. He disappeared in an after-image, zipping away from the both of them, and skidded a few yards until he was just a few feet from Zuus. He glanced over at the confused animatronic for just a moment, cursing his bad luck.

Roots would not make it out of this without him.

"Zuus, do I really look that much like this Roots guy?" He wiped at his nose, letting out a breath.

"Because I don't know if I wanna meet the guy he pissed off," The Saiyan let out a final panted breath, and his eyes locked onto that creature.

"What's a horserider...without a horse..." He dashed forward through the air, letting out a roar, propelling himself with with ki and his natural speed.

Zuus
The android was still watching, and Groot came to him.

"It would make sense that Enragement Child would do something to annoy spirits. It's also true that Zuus's facial recognition shows a close relation between Groot and Enragement Child. However, as Zuus has stated, the hair is off. That is why Zuus had estimated a high percentage chance of a relation. However, Groot has stated that is not accurate."

The Saiyan charged towards the creature again, this time intending to remove his horse from the equation.

"Zuus would have no issue with spirit slaying Enragement Child, as Zuus is done with him." The android repeated what he said to Roots at the tournament.

"However, Zuus has no desire to see Groot dead. Groot. Cover optical sensors."

The android brought up his hands and spread his fingers before shutting his eyes.

The wraith turned to follow his target expecting a attack but not where it went. Turning he watch his target hit the steed rather than rider. The horse itself responded to the attack by neighing in distress as it was hit.

The blow made noises as it went through the steed, sickening snaps as it's spine and ribs exploded at the impact. Flailing on the ground in pain it slowly dissolved to mist as it died. The mist itself returned to the host who it belonged to.

The rider lowered his sword as he watched his steed die. Even as the solar flare hit he watched his horse die unmoving as his ally died. "Harbinger shall be avenged three fold you filthy dog. You were necessary for my master but now he will have to find a new one." His anger was palpable in his words and even in world around them as fog condensed and formed around the warriors. His wrath was so fierce that his enemies could sense his power.

Roots
If it wasn't so satisfying, Roots might have been a little perturbed by the sickening sounds. Roots was an animal lover-hell, technically about half of him was actually wolf, in a way. But this creature that had come from the mist and let Valinar the Seeker ride him...

Roots had no pity for that creature as it clearly painfully slammed into the ground, and then the mist that aspired up into the air from the slain mystic horse trailed up to the Seeker himself.

At least Roots knew his name, now. Harbinger. He didn't much like being called a 'filthy dog' but at least he most certainly would have the chance to punish him for that. Roots did not have his scouter on, but he could feel fear dripping into his soul.

At least Zuus gave him a heads up and indeed, Groot covered his optical sensors. When it was over, it seemed that they had a moment to attack, and Groot would certainly take it. He dashed at Valinar, with a ki cloaked body and fist, moving at speeds beyond silly multiples of sounds.

Zuus
Then, for just a brief moment, Zuus could sense the power coming from the wraith. That was big. That was very big. That was bigger then the female pirate in space. Was that because Groot killed the horse? Must have been a strong horse. And talk of a master must have meant that they were even stronger still.

It made him question why they wished to have Tao, considering he didn't seem that powerful.

At least he had the advantage. For now, at least. Though there was something off about the ghost. What was it? Why did it seem like he was just shrugging off everything? This required analysis. What was on him that was defending him?

Once he could get a handle on that, then they could properly deal with this thing. For now, Groot would have to use the time he bought him.

Shrieking a fierce wail that reverberated in Roots soul the wraith snapped it's gaze to its enemy. "You are fool enough to come this close then clearly I have not demonstrated your errors!" Even as he spoke the form hit by Roots imploded under the attack and turned to darkness that dissolved with ease.

Lunging at his enemy the sword strokes became faster. "I shal enjoy caring the understanding into you mortal.

Roots had no time to analyze.

No time to question who the Seeker's master was, or why he had even arrived.

Roots had to time to realize that Valinar was coming at him again with four sword strikes, and the Saiyan stepped back and from his armor, surging with energy, produced a shield of energy. The orange shield took all four blows of the Seeker's sword, and then Roots grinned.

"You leave yourself OPEN!" He grunted, throwing another lightning fast-punch towards his opponent.

Man, he was still going at this rate. The android had no idea how he could still fight while blinded. There was just so much he didn't know, and his analysis wasn't giving him any new information.

...

Wait, what was that?

He caught something on the Wraith when he faded and came in for a stroke on Groot. Some sort of mark on him. The android didn't know what it was, but it looked like a giant bullseye now. His mind quickly calculated trajectory and speed and he fired the fastest shot he had.

"Dodon Ray!"

The wraith stalled as his blade was thwarted by something new. When he was hit by Roots attack however his attention snapped immediately to the saiyan that was now right in front of him. As the punch hit his body it went through again distorting the form like hitting fog. "I am never open fool!" Raising his sword to strike down the target of all his hate and the mission he was given.

His action was stopped by a beam hitting his sword arm, and connecting. The lower arm evaporated suddenly at the attack like vapor clearing. The sword fell to the sand and embedded blade first.

Turning its gaze toward the android it could almost be felt as shock.

His gaze went back to the saiyan suddenly and he attempted to plunge a now enflamed transparent limb into the man. Only for it to begin dispersing like the arm shot before it. "I cannot be denied! My vengeance must be fulfilled!" Stumbling backward and gazing at his form evaporating before their eyes.

Eventually he stood and struggled at his target one last time. "This is not over for either of you. I will return and I will finish this somehow." His final words rang out as he finished dissolving into mist.

Nothing was left except the sword five feet of deadly blade buried in the sand. Dark as pitch with fog lightly emanating from it.

Every single time, Roots fist passed through harmlessly. The Seeker's blade rose, aiming to strike the Saiyan down but Zuus' Dodan Ray struck the wraith in the arm. That arm evaporated, misting up into the air. The Seeker's attention was on Zuus for a moment, and it shouted, declaring that it would have vengeance.

Not on that day, at least.

It's attempts to harm Roots failed, and before it finally dissappeared it decreed that the both of them were now going to be finished. And just like that, it was gone. Roots face hardened for a moment and he quickly returned to normal, letting his hybrid features leave him, and then his eyes wavered down to the blade by his feet.

He quickly crouched down and grabbed it. Simply touching it made his skin crawl. It was large, far too unwieldy for him to use, but still, he held it in his hands, all five feet of it. The fog that that curled off of it made him feel uneasy.

He glanced up at Zuus, eyes narrowing.

"Th-thank you again, for your help, Zuus," He let the blade touch the ground, but still held it tightly in one hand.
