Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. We love new members and are a very welcoming bunch of people.

What Have You Done; Daze

Angeles
It had taken her a while to get out of the house after that day, even longer to get to this place, and even still, she was standing outside the city, looking at the sand rather than the building which was her destination. She was dressed all the way from her neck down. The tight body armor that served as a catalyst for the outer suit that Roots had made for her, tucked in a metal pod between her wings, all under her coat.

But protection was not why she was wearing it.

She didn't even breathe as she lifted her eyes from the sand to the bar, the color had not changed from the color of tar since the attack on Haven, and she worried for what it meant. How much more of her was she going to lose to the demonic magic?

But that was not why she was here. Her hands in her pockets, she began to step forward. There was someone she needed to see, to talk to, and she didn't even know if he was there, ever since he cut himself away from everyone he had ever called a friend. Angeles' steps stopped again and she looked away from the building once more, standing just a few feet from the door. She didn't know if she could do this. She didn't know if she could hold herself together. She didn't know what she was going to do when she saw him, if he was even here. For all she knew, he had died.

And still, despite everything, that thought made her sick.

Angeles didn't even breathe as Daze was silent, but his thoughts were still open to him, and she knew he had decided before he even spoke. He had already learned why it was she had warned him, he felt the betrayal of the brother who had left him in the ruin, but he wanted more, and she complied, lifting her hands again to cradle his face and touch each temple with her fingers.

"Let me know if you want me to stop. If it's too much."

She closed her eyes and focused again, establishing the same connection and digging in, trying to find the earliest memories, and work her way up from there. If anything, so that he could know more about his parents, if nothing else.

Daze
"What's wrong with him Doctor Nameway?" A concerned father spoke to a doctor about a son's condition.

"He has a form of muscular dystrophy. His muscles are growing weaker rather than stronger as he ages. It's... hereditary. There isn't a cure, but we can treat it and make his life easier. Poor Daze won't be able to do anything excessive, though. You have to be careful with what he does," A mostly unfamiliar voice stated. The face was blurred, but the conversation felt important.

"Hey, why's you're hair that color?" A young girl questioned.

"My big brother's got black hair and he's a jerk. I didn't want to be nothin' like 'em so I dyed mine white. Doesn't it look cool, Lucy!?" A young Daze proclaimed to his childhood sweetheart.

"Why did Damien leave me? Is he really that mean...? I don't want to be in this stupid.." the boy paused to sniffle. "cave or whatever anymore. At least it's not all dark.." a boy cried, approaching a feint light in the distance. "Whoa... what are those...?" he questioned, reaching out to touch two glowing orbs on a pedestal. They flashed brightly, blinding blue light engulfed the room. It's all a blurr from there.

--

"I need a break..." Daze claimed, breaking away once more, breathing heavily. It was very taxing on him. It was a lot of information to process. "Just a minute is all... there's a lot to process."

More flashes of memory filtered through, earlier memories, detailing his condition, one she had heard of before. A last name, that one she knew, making it more likely that Celeste was the Celeste she knew, the one she knew who was not with Damien, and from Roots' memories, knew why. His hair came up, the girl named Lucy as well again. And then the ruins again, where Daze reached for and touched the orbs.

A flash of light and the connection was broken again as Daze pulled away and asked for a minute. Her hands dropped to her stomach and her eyes looked at him, then slid closed, taking her own break while he processed everything.

"The orbs healed you of that condition," she whispered, then was silent for a moment, before adding, "take your time," in barely a breath.

Daze
"I didn't even know I had a condition..." Daze said with parsed breathes. "At least I know my parents cared about me. I feel bad... they had to deal with me having something wrong. They probably blamed themselves since it was a genetic thing. Man, if only I knew what happened to my brother and parents. No, I probably know. I just don't want to think about it," Daze rambled.

"Besides, Bruce is my dad. He took care of me when no one else was there to do so. I couldn't ask for a better father," Daze smiled.

"I'm sorry I'm putting you through this, Angeles. I know I've put you through enough."

Angeles
Daze spoke again, and she seemed to not hear, for all intents and purposes, laying there not breathing, she looked dead, but her eyes opened and she smiled to show she was okay, and her hand moved to touch his lightly.

She wasn't going to say she was alright, she wasn't, today was the first day she had been able to leave the house, and she knew it was only a matter of time before the rumors from Haven spread to Oasis, and the trust here would also be gone.

It was possible it had already happened.

Still she would go through it for him.

Daze
"Hey, let's take a break... I think I've seen enough," Daze said with a smile.

He felt it. Briefly, but it was there. He felt what she felt and he knew enough was enough. She was so eager to do whatever made Daze happy. Whatever made Roots happy. Even at the cost of herself. It made him feel guilty. Like he was using her. He couldn't do it anymore. She needed to rest.

"Let's lay down and just relax for a bit, come on," Daze stated once more, laying down on his side, making room for her to be in whatever position she desired.

Daze said he was done for that day, and her smile faded. He said it was him, she knew it wasn't, not entirely, but he offered rest, and that was something she needed, she was exhausted, mentally, physically, emotionally, and she was going to have to go home, and explain to Roots what had happened here.

he laid on his side, her wing lifting from him as he shifted, and she laid on her side again, facing him, her wing laying over him once more. She closed her eyes for a bit, then opened them and gave a paranoid glance to the sky of the void, knowing that sooner or later the damned orbs were going to return and take Daze over again.

Her wing shifted over him a bit more, that subconscious possessive thought brushing the surface before she laid her head back down and closed her eyes.

"Daze," she whispered, opening her eyes and looking at him. She was silent for a moment as she looked in his eyes. She blinked once, was silent, then her eyes slid closed and she sighed, burying a bit more into the bed. Her voice brushed his mind though, just a whisper.

"I'm sorry."

Daze
Daze waited a good six minutes after he was sure she fell asleep. Silently, he used his magic to fade himself out of the bed and up into the void near his orbs. It was time to let Angeles sleep. He had bothered her long enough for the day. Besides, poor Kamrun was likely getting worried. Who knows what she thought was going on.

Sleep, for as long as you like. As long as you need. He thought, looking down before returning the orbs to his body and exiting the fade realm.

--

"Whoa... man, that was weird," Daze smiled, appearing in the middle of the bar where he suspected Kamrun and Bruce would be. "Everything's a bit fuzzy, does it feel fuzzy to anyone else?" Daze laughed, taking a seat at one of the tables.

The fallen angel slept soundly, given that Daze left without making noise or movement, and time did not have meaning in a place like this. When she awoke, her arm stretched out to the empty side of the bed, and her fingers curled into the sheets. She replayed what had happened, grimaced, and then sobbed, burying her face into the pillow.

She had come to terms with what had happened, why it had happened, and that she could do nothing about it. Now she had to tell Roots, had to confess.

Releasing the blankets, she stood from the bed, looking at the crumpled sheets showing where they had lay, and she looked away from it, opening a fade portal to her side and walking through.

Going home.

Kamrun
Kamrun had woken up without Daze in the bed with her, which had become normal, though adjusting to someone who woke up earlier than her had been fun. But she had found him outside, speaking to that Angeles woman, covered in the white silk again, which meant... a good number of unpleasant things. Then he vanished with her into the fade, but not before the woman looked at her. Kamrun frowned, worried about what Angeles planned to do with Daze in the fade, but got dressed and went downstairs to get the bar ready to open with Bruce.

It hadn't been too long after, a little less than two hours, when Daze appeared back in the bar, asking if people felt fuzzy.

Kamrun quickly did a once-over and smiled relieved.

"No," she answered and ruffled his hair, "you're the only fuzzy one, unless you're talking about my wings, then, yes, I also feel fuzzy," she smiled, glad that whatever it was was over and the woman was gone for now. She unnerved Kamrun, given all that she had done to Daze at the tournament, and while it wasn't that she didn't like her, she didn't know her to tell that, but her impression of her was... not good.

Kamrun was glad to have Daze back, that was all that mattered, and she smiled at Bruce, then looked at Daze, "come on," she laughed, "help me put the stuff on the tables," she smiled fondly at Daze, then moved to continue starting the rest of the day with him.

"Fuzzy, yeah yeah. I'm the fuzzy one," Daze smiled, getting up upon request. "Hey old man! Why don't you ever get a juke box for this place or somethin'! Some beats would be a great addition to liven it up a bit," Daze stated, walking with his arms behind his head in a carefree manner.

He spent the day helping Kamrun help Bruce.

A simple day... but he needed it. Especially after all of that.

Every day he could have without complicated emotions and feelings brought him one step closer to returning to the world.

One step closer to righting his wrongs.

At least trying to.
