Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!
Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.
We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.
We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.
We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. We love new members and are a very welcoming bunch of people.

Daze
|
Kamrun had been gone for the day to go do things. Daze was having trouble remembering what. It was actually good, because Daze needed to do some errands around the village. He had really turned over a new leaf, helping out the people in the village as much as possible. Earning his place there rather than just bumming off of everyone like he used to.
Sure, he protected them. But that more made up for the damage he caused while living there. Besides, nothing bad has happened there in forever.
"Wow Daze, you sure helped me out a bunch. I can't believe she got away like that. I would've been in real trouble if Betty got lost for very long," one of the locals said, patting his cow on the side.
"Mooooo..." the Cow chimed.
"Yeah, well. You let us get milk and cheese at a good deal, so it was least I could do. Betty here has fed me tons of times. Can't let 'er die out there from heat or wolves or whatever," Daze smiled, sticking his hand out to shake the fellow resident of the village's hand.
"Thanks a ton. You tell ole Bruce I said hey, alright?" the man stated.
"Sure will, I should be gettin' back soon anyway," Daze said, sighing happily to himself while staring up at the sky. "Wonder when Kam's gonna get back?" Daze pondered to himself, eyes glued up and hands in his pockets.

The feeling of Kamrun's touch on his face made Daze inhale deeply with a stutter. He had been wallowing in the pain over what had happened ever since he got back. Kamrun gave him the moments of respite he needed to stay sane. When she wasn't around or when she was sleeping, he worked to keep his mind busy. He hated the idea of just drowning in despair.
"Kamrun, I'm... sorry I didn't tell you sooner," Daze said, feeling her pain.
He didn't know that she was close to Talon. They never really talked about it. But the mention of what happened to Talon caused her deep pain. One that he could feel. She tried hard to hide it, but his magic revealed it to him. She tried to be strong for him and that made him feel worse.
"You're right, there's a hole that needs fixing and... it's not on a roof," Daze said, talking about the hole in their hearts from the events that transpired. "Come here, it's okay," Daze said open arms, being as strong as he could not only for her... but for himself.

Daze apologized and she shook her head. He couldn't have known, she didn't even know the two incidents had been related, he couldn't have even known Talon and her had been friends. Still didn't she didn't say anything, he had nothing to be sorry for. But somehow he knew she hurt, somehow he figured it out, and he opened his arms and her lip quivered as she tried to hold it in.
She looked at him and shook her head, face twisting in pain, then she bowed her head in defeat and stepped forward into his arms, her own wrapping around him tightly. She sobbed once and closed her eyes tightly to fight the tears back, the last thing Daze needed was her completely breaking down.
"I'm sorry," she hissed in a breath, her voice breaking at the end in a whimper. She swallowed to stop it and inhaled sharply, "T-Talon... was my friend, he was teaching me magic. Good magic, creation, enchantments. I didn't know...," she winced and pressed her brow to his chest, "I didn't know he would hurt someone like that...."
Her voice trembled again, "I'm sorry he did that, I'm-- I'm sorry you lost Machi."

"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault. You didn't do it and you had no way of knowing or preventing it," Daze explained.
"It's... why I showed up the way I did. When I found out, I snapped. I lost control and I did horrible things. Things I need to make amends for," Daze said between shaky breaths, holding Kamrun tight as he ran his hand down her back to comfort her.
"I don't know why Talon did what he did... but, I.." Daze paused. He opted out of discussing all the horrible things Talon had done in the past. How he mutilated not one, but two Angels. How he lied and deceived everyone he came into contact with. How he examined Daze's body and tried to do butt stuff.
The last bit is Daze's imagination. Details blurring and all that. But it's what he remembers.
"I don't know... it doesn't make sense. Like some bad dream..."

He told her to not be sorry and she hated that he was the one comforting her. She was the healer, the caretaker, and he was the one in pain. This wasn't right.
It went on though, not only was Talon's death and Machi's anger connected, but it was also the reason why he needed healing. He admitted he had done something, something she suspected from day one, from the things he was muttering in his half-coherent state. But she didn't understand it either, to him it was like a bad dream, she had no such ideals of illusions, but was coming to terms that all this pain stemmed from one man.
A man she had called teacher and friend.
"I don't know," she agreed quietly, "just... hold me... and I'll hold you, and maybe it will feel better, for today, at least for today."

"I'm not letting go, not anytime soon," Daze said. "I'm here for as long as you need me," Daze added, continuing his embrace.
The fact that he was able to discuss what had happened was a strong sign that Daze was nearly ready. Soon he would go to Haven and try. At least try to help in some way. Terminus was another story. He had to figure out how to go there to help without Goemon stabbing him in the face right away.
He can't undo the damage he did there... he killed people. Bad people, good people... it didn't matter. His recklessness cost people their lives. He wished he could blame someone else, point the finger at Talon. But he opened the portal. His choice, his responsibility. Even if it was an accident.

Daze said he wasn't letting go, and she remembered that morning after he had changed her into a fairy. It helped calm her, though the pain didn't die down to a reasonable amount for several minutes. After that time, she took a shaky breath, and shifted, lifting her head from his chest where she heard the beating of his heart. She used the cuff of her sleeve to wipe the tears away and sniffed. Taking a few breaths and coughing once, she spoke.
"We should um," she began, biting her lip, still holding him. She thought about what she was going to say, then looked up at him, touching his face and leaning on her toes to kiss him. She closed her eyes, not wanting the world outside to exist for a moment, just him, just them, just for those few seconds.
When those seconds were done she parted from him slowly, and sank back to her heels, looking him in the eye and still touching his face.
"Thank you," she said softly, sincerity written across her face, "for letting me cry."

"Everybody cries... even big strong people me," Daze said with a smile, moving to wipe the trail of tears from her face. "Bottling it up is bad... we have to own our feelings and not hide away. Actually, I might just be talking about what I need to do," Daze sighed, kissing Kamrun on her forehead.
"I need to go to Haven and make up for a past mistake," Daze sighed. "But first, we got a Roof to fix," Daze smiled, trying to replicate Kamrun's trademark positive attitude.
She was infectious in the best way possible. He wished he could be more like her. Such a blessing on the world. He wanted to be good like that. Not a ball of chaos he was on a regular basis.

Daze spoke and it made her smile. He wiped his hand against her tears, and she closed her eyes, then leaned into him again. Resting her head against his chest. He said that he needed to go to Haven to fix things, and she wondered if what had happened, the terrible thing he had done, had happened in Haven. She was glad he was willing to go fix things at least, She was happy that this was finally all coming out. It meat that the healing was working.
But first, a hole in an old man's roof needed attention. Kamrun smiled and looked up at him, "let's go fix something," she agreed.
Her hand slid and found his gripping it. She stepped away, and let him go, but held that hand, and looked at the ground for a moment, then back up at him, smiling. This too would pass, it hurt now, but the world would keep turning, and like always she would keep going. And as she tugged on his hand to head to the house, she was going to help him keep going too.

"Yeah, he'll be so surprised. We'll totally cheat code him a new roof!" Daze said with glee, making a reference he didn't fully understand. He learned about it in one of the adverts in his comic books. Something about a game genie or something. Let you use cheat codes to make the game easier.
He had never played a video game before. But the term cheat code stuck with him.
The house they approached was near the bar, like Daze stated. The hole was very obvious, it was on the front and looked like a heavy rock fell in it from the above rocky outcrops. Whoever lived there was lucky it didn't hit them.
"Wait... is the rock still in his house...?" Daze asked as they got closer, peering into the window. "Oh that poor old man, he just left it there," Daze laughed a bit, never really knowing. The hole looks to have been there for some time. The old guy just sort of lived with it.
"I'll get the rock, you get the roof, okay?" Daze said, as if they were team fix it.

Daze had a way of making her feel better. She didn't know what the term cheat code meant exactly but she could guess at the meaning for the way he was using it. They approached the house and it was one Kamrun recognized. She had wondered about the hole before but didn't really ask. Sh probably should have, but then she wouldn't have been doing this service with Daze, taking her mind off what she had learned.
Daze mused about the rock and they peeked in the window to see that it was indeed still there. Daze made and action plan, he, with his great power, would remove the rock, and her, with her slightly lesser power would fix the hole.
"Got it," she said and lifted off the ground, floating lightly to the roof where the hole was. She peered in and waved at Daze, before clearing the hole and looking it over a bit, then using her magic to fill the hole with the same material the rest of the roof was made out of, the hole filling with a green light as she focused on her work.

Daze was thinking about how he was going to dispose of the rock. He didn't want to just waltz into the guys house. That would be rude. He's trying better to not do that kind of stuff before. His recklessness is what got him in the mess of emotional conflict he is in now. It only took him to fuck up big enough to make him start to care. It was only a matter of time.
"Right, I got it," Daze nodded, holding his left hand upright.
He opened a portal beneath the large rock, it opening up above him. The rock fell from the portal and into his hand. He gently set the rock down onto the ground. Pleased with his work. He was tempted to launch the rock out into the air somewhere... but he thought about what possible negative repercussions would come from that.
Old Daze would've tossed it no problem.
"Yeah, there we go," he said with a weak smile, stepping on the rock with a bit of force to shove it into the sand nearly all the way. "Should be out of his way and he shouildn't have a hole in his roof anymore," Daze smiled, looking up at Kamrun's work. "You did great. I'm sure he'll be happy."

One the green light faded, the hole in the roof was gone. She inspected the time where she had made it and couldn't find any definite seam to show where the old roof was and where her patch job was. Nodding, pleased, she crawled over to the edge of the roof and looked down as Daze caught the rock and planted it into the ground.
Kamrun smiled and rested her chin on her hands as he looked up and commented on her work. She smiled, but didn't even look at it again.
"Do you think your rock will grow into a mighty tree?" She asked grinning at the small section of stone so visible in the ground.
She shifted and swung off the roof, floating lightly down. She turned and now looked at her job from a new perspective, tilting her head.
"I think I matched the color right...," she said a bit hesitantly.

"You did perfect and I think this baby will sprout into a great rock tree. It'll grow many baby rock trees, each of them producing fine vanilla rock fruit. They're hard to crack, but in the center is a yummy vanilla flavored juice and the fruit itself has a gummy texture," Daze rambled, going on about a mythical rock tree that more than likely doesn't exist.
He liked his stories. They were usually better than reality and sometimes reality sucked.
"You really did do a great job, though. I bet he'll be stoked to see the hole gone. What'cha want to do next?" Daze asked, curious about what sort of good work for Oasis they can do next.

Just as she had convinced herself she had gotten the wrong shade of brown, Daze assured that it was perfect, and then talked about how his rock was going to be a tree, and bear delicious fruit that had vanilla gummy centers.
Since delicious, and she grinned, "have you ever had a coconut?"
He asked what else they could do and she hummed, going over a list of her skills as far as what she could do with Daze to help out. There wasn't a whole lot, "we could fix more things, or see if anyone wants anything renovated. We can see if the town needs any water, that is something we could get off supplies from traders have been low. Hmm are there any people who've been sick lately, or hurt that you know of?" That was more of a thing she would be doing herself, but Daze would know best who would need healing, so it was still a team effort.

"Well, most the people that live here are old. They're all sickly and whatnot," Daze noted, nodding as if he were speaking the truth when he was pretty far from it. Most the people living in the village were in their 40s and 50s. Only a few other young people in Daze's age group lived there. Few kids, but most people left the village when they got to their late teens. Wanted to see the world, visit Central and live an adventurous life.
Daze was the only one who really stuck around.
"Well, there is the well. I don't know if those things run out of water or anythin' like that, but we could see about refillin' it if it's low," Daze stated, not really sure how that would work. But they had magic and wit. They could figure anything out if they set their heart to it.

There were sick people, and a well, both good things. Daze didn't know any specific sick people though, and Kamrun glanced around, looking for a specific type of building, She didn't see it.
"Daze," she began, ready to follow him, "are there any clinics or doctors in the village? Like at all?"
She looked back at him, question and concern on her face. She had certainly never seen either of those, but it seemed silly to have a village this large with no one around who could practice medicine.
Her hand slipped down and took his, not to make him stop or anything, just to hold it.

"Nah, we don't have any doctors. I mean, most of 'em are smart enough to bathe and brush their teeth. All tough pricks, most of 'em. So they don't usually get sick. 'Cept what's her face that taught me that, um, what'cha call it..." Daze paused, closing one eye to think very carefully.
"Um, the dance. Wally? Wellz? Whatever, that thing. She was real real old, got sick and didn't get better. Don't remember her name... but I remember her smile, she was a happy old lady," Daze noted. He seemed to be reminiscent a bit. The memory was a nice one. It wasn't usual for someone outside of Bruce to help him. He was always seen as obnoxious to other people and often ignored.
One of the reasons he was so loud and brash. He wanted people to pay attention to him.
"But nah, no clinic or nothin' I mean, we got a lot of people living here, just most of them the labor type," Daze nodded.

Daze confirmed there were no doctors or clinics, or anything of the sort, just people who took care of themselves. Kamrun looked around again and hummed in thought, stopping and pinching her chin. Daze explained that most no one got sick, save for a woman he knew who taught him to waltz, and she looked over at him and smiled.
"You remembered a woman taught you to dance," she said, happy. His memory seemed to be better since he had come home that day, the day that she knew now had some connection to others she knew. She wasn't sure why it was, it was different, but it was good.
"Is there a mayor, or someone who's in charge that... maybe, hm," she frowned looking at the ground, "maybe I should think about that a bit first," she murmured. If she opened a clinic, or an apothecary and offered her talents to be basically the town doctor, she would have to stay there, it would be her responsibility. That wasn't such a terrible idea, Daze, but two things made her hesitate.
She had tried living in just one place before, and that had made her so on edge, had the urge to just go so often, that eventually she had to leave for her own sanity. The other was that there were people who knew her route, people who counted on her to make her rounds to stock up on her potions and ask for her magic to heal the ill or injured.
If she had to stay in one place, those people would not have that assurance that she was coming. They would have to come to her, which would be more of an inconvenience than just waiting for her to come around.
She definitely needed to think this through.
"Sorry, got lost in my thoughts," she said, tucking some loose hair behind her ear, tightening her ponytail.

"Mayor? Nah. Nothin' like that. The people who care about stuff all meet up every once in a while at Bruce's place. They talk the important stuff and get things done. Bunch of borin' stuff though. I never paid attention, in fact they usually asked me to go find somethin' to do since I was, um.." Daze paused, trying to remember the word. "Obnoxious I think is what they used to say," Daze laughed with his tongue pressed against the inside of his lower lip.
"But we get by fine without some big shot callin' shots. Just sort of mind our own business and live normally. We all depend on each other without needin' no one else. Most the people here are real stubborn. Like, they make me look like I'm layin' on the floor gettin' walked all over," Daze noted, nodding.
"But hey, it's home."

A city council, rather than a mayor, made sense, a small community like this, away from the king's rule mostly, to not want to elect a sole leader. These people met at Bruce's on occasion to discuss things for the village, discussions Daze would be told to leave ad did not enjoy for reasons she could understand. She smirked when he said they called him obnoxious.
"You're not obnoxious," she said, stating her opinion of their opinion of him.
She chuckled as he gave an example of how stubborn some of the villagers could be and squeezed his hand.
"You don't happen to know when the next time they're going to meet is do you?"
