Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

Daze
Kamrun had been gone for the day to go do things. Daze was having trouble remembering what. It was actually good, because Daze needed to do some errands around the village. He had really turned over a new leaf, helping out the people in the village as much as possible. Earning his place there rather than just bumming off of everyone like he used to.

Sure, he protected them. But that more made up for the damage he caused while living there. Besides, nothing bad has happened there in forever.

"Wow Daze, you sure helped me out a bunch. I can't believe she got away like that. I would've been in real trouble if Betty got lost for very long," one of the locals said, patting his cow on the side.

"Mooooo..." the Cow chimed.

"Yeah, well. You let us get milk and cheese at a good deal, so it was least I could do. Betty here has fed me tons of times. Can't let 'er die out there from heat or wolves or whatever," Daze smiled, sticking his hand out to shake the fellow resident of the village's hand.

"Thanks a ton. You tell ole Bruce I said hey, alright?" the man stated.

"Sure will, I should be gettin' back soon anyway," Daze said, sighing happily to himself while staring up at the sky. "Wonder when Kam's gonna get back?" Daze pondered to himself, eyes glued up and hands in his pockets.

"Not sure, that's a question for Bruce. He's always involved in that sort of thing. Likes helpin' people a whole lot. I don't think he used to. He used to tell me, 'look what you've done to me Daze. You done and made me responsible' or whatever. I think he used to be a loner," Daze nodded, not really knowing the details about Bruce's life before Daze was got involved in his life.

He thinks Bruce used to be married, but he can't remember that either.

Bruce had likely told him, but remembering too much at once was hard. He had to do remembering in small bursts.

Bruce then, but that would be later when they went back, and Kamrun would enjoy being at the bar after a long journey, a terrible experience, and bad news. It would be good to sleep in a bed next to Daze again.

She laughed when Daze said that Bruce blamed him for being responsible and the woman chuckled, "if it makes you feel better, you make me a bit irresponsible," she teased, intentionally trying to joke over the sore in her chest.

She sighed, softly, swinging his hand a bit while they walked, "he cares about you a lot, more than anything I think," she mused, looking at where she could see the well in the distance.

"Yeah, he's been there since as far back as I can remember. I know it's obvious he's not my, um," he paused trying to remember the correct term. "Biological father. We don't even look the same. He's all vanilla and I'm mocha," Daze joked. "But... he's been the only thing like a Dad I've known. I couldn't ask for better," Daze smiled, turning to Kamrun with a happy expression. He had to be happy for her. Getting sad right now would be bad.

He had to return the favor of infectious happiness.

"I think that's the well. Should get it all nice and full. Maybe give it a special touch, like, add one of your potions of make everyone healthier to it or whatever," Daze suggested, not really knowing the correct terminology.

Kamrun chuckled when Daze described the differences between him and Bruce like they were food.

"Great," she laughed, "now I want vanilla mocha," she sighed and shook her head, bumping her shoulder lightly against Daze's arm. When the young man finished she smiled, knowing that family wasn't about being related by blood. Daze understood this as well it seemed.

She looked up at the well and smiled, hurrying her steps up to a jog to get to it and leaned over to see how far down it was. Daze came with a plan and Kamrun hummed.

"Shouldn't just fill it with water," she said, "if down there is the water level, filling it might cause the well to sink in cause it will make the ground around it soft."

She glanced at Daze as he suggested also adding something to it and she smirked and scrunched her nose, "I would first have to make a potion of making everyone healthier," she said and chuckled, "and it might not be a good idea to have a girl no one really knows pour something that they have no idea what it is into their water supply," she leaned over and kissed his cheek, "they might think I'm poisoning it."

She smiled at Daze, then leaned over again to see if she could get a better look at where the water level was.

"Huh, I mean. I guess we should think about what we do before we do it. Good thinkin'," Daze nodded, as if Kamrun's enlightened words made him realize that acting without thinking can often lead to horrible outcomes.

Which was effectively the story of his life.

"So, what else we got to put in there to make the water not sink down into the.... what you said?" Daze asked, forgetting the exact details of what she had said after he speal about poison in the water. It reminded him of a song he heard once. He didn't remember the lyrics or even the name. Just the beat and the line "Poison in the water..."

He couldn't help but sort of bounce on his heels to the beat in his head.

Daze confirmed what she said about the water and she smiled and nodded, leaning away from the well. He asked then what it is they should do and she folded her arms, "well we would need to ask someone who knows the well better than us if where it's at is the normal water level. if it isn't then I can safely fill it to what is the normal water level, if that is the normal water level, then it's not something that needs to be fixed," she grinned.

"Outside of that, we can go back to the building, slash renovating, expanding part of things, see if there are any homes or places of business that need to be put up. We could also see if the farmers need any help farming," she smiled, happy to get back to work, magically and physically.

"We could also see if Bruce needs anything," she offered as another option.

Daze
Daze mostly stared at her like a deer in the headlights. He didn't know filling a well with water would be so complicated. He just thought you could fill it to the brim and all would be well. He was now slightly happy that he didn't try to do it himself, because in theory, he too can create the elements.

He's just... not amazing at it. Well, he can cover himself in the elements effectively, but that was a different story.

"Yeah, sure, let's go bother Bruce," Daze smiled, nodding in agreement before nodding the way and presenting a hand for her to hold.

Daze stared at her and she paused a moment to stare at him back, shifting her gaze slightly before shrugging her shoulders and shaking her head, laughing, "what?"

She smiled when he agreed to bother Bruce and she snickered at the thoughts of actually bothering the man. It seemed easy yet impossible to do at the same time.

Taking Daze's hand when he offered to it, she squeezed it, and looked at the ground as they began heading back to the bar. Her smile softened as thought began to run again without her permission, and she made an uncomfortable noise when she caught them, and forced herself to think of other things, squeezing Daze's hand.

"I forgot to tell you," she said looking at him, "I found some comics while I was out they're in my bag in the room, wanted to see if they were ones you already had. I... read them already, hope you don't mind...."

"That sounds awesome and of course I don't mind. A bunch of strange ass people read 'em before you. Why would I care if you read them?" Daze asked, nearly rhetorically with a cheeky grin. If Kamrun wanted to, he'd let her read his collection of randomly assorted comics that were not in much of an order.

It was hard to find comics that were sequels or prequels to each other in this chaotic world. Not to mention a lot of the time they were missing pages.

"Looks like the early crowd has died down a bit," Daze noted as they drew closer to the bar. "Good, he won't be so busy. Not to mention I can help him clean up," Daze smiled, eager to help out as much as he can.

Kamrun was rubbing off on him.

"Oi!, Bruce. We got somethin' to tell ya!" Daze chimed, bursting through the door, coming off a tad excessive, as per usual.

"Oh God Daze, don't tell me you got her pregnant?" Bruce accused, knowing full well that wasn't what it was. He mostly wanted to mess with the two of them.

Kamrun smiled, glad she got something Daze liked. It wasn't hard to guess that he liked comic books, it was one of few possessions he had, in a milk crate under his bed, she had been tempted to read them, but didn't want to maybe ruin them by accident. Comics were made out of a paper that could be damaged very easy. The only reason she risked reading the ones she had was, well, she was bored at night getting back to the desert, her books she had read at least five times already.

Kamrun was as excited to help Bruce as Daze was and grinned as they walked through the door, noticing that a good number of people that had been there when she first arrived where gone. They walked through the door and Daze called Bruce out.

And Bruce responded.

And Kamrun just laughed.

She leaned against the bar so as not to fall over as she laughed and shook her head. It took her a bit to recover, and even then she was still giggling, "no no no no no Bruce, I'm not pregnant," she said, between catching her breath, "we haven't done that, and if we had, you would have heard it," she teased, both Bruce and Daze

"Oh? With his track record I just assume he's slept with every person that's slept in his bed. I'm glad he's found someone with a bit more restraint. It's a good quality to have," Bruce complimented in his own way, even if he may have come off rough with it.

"Jeeze, Old Man," Daze shook his head, walking up to Kamrun putting his arm around her shoulder. "I didn't ignore every little thing you told me. A good guy does things at their pace, not his. Not fair otherwise," Daze chimed.

"Oh really? Because that's not what I told you at all... is that what you got out of make sure you love a girl with your heart and not your penis?" Bruce sighed, quirking a brow. "Nevermind, don't answer, you're going to give me an aneurysm," he sighed once more, slightly more aggravated. "Did you two have something to talk about or did you just want to bother me?" Bruce asked.

Daze had to restrain himself from just answering, "Yes." He let Kamrun do the talking instead. Mostly so he didn't get hit with a frying pan or something.

Kamrun took the compliment, smiling a bit then laughing as Daze protested Bruce's accusation, walking up and putting an arm around her and telling Bruce what he had learned from the older man. To which Bruce rebutted and it made Kamrun laugh. Her mother used to say something similar, but less gruff and with far more animal metaphors.

amrun didn't have many memories of her father, she hoped he was at least half the man Bruce was.

"We did come to bother you," she said, glancing at Daze and scrunching her nose with a smile, "we're doing some work around the village, we were wondering if you needed anything, or if you knew of anyone who needed some stuff done? Repairs, renovations, healing... oh, also if the well's water is at it's usual level."

She nodded, leaning against Daze a bit, just to be closer to him.

"Yeah, and we want to build a thing here... um," Daze paused. "I think it was a bath house," Daze nodded, not being anywhere even close to being correct on that detail. "But yeah, who do we talk to to get involved in ya'lls meetin's to talk to about this sort of thing. You know the ones I was never allowed to attend on the 'count I'm obnoxious," Daze laughed, using the words of the other villagers.

"Oh, you two want to be involved and help out around the village, huh?" Bruce smiled, happy to see the younger generation stepping up to help out. "The well is fine for now, no need to mess with it, but we'll let you know when it needs tending to. You both should attend our next meeting. It's in two days, it'll be here. Just got to find something to entertain yourselves until then," Bruce explained.

"Two days!? Man... I was hopin' it was like, tonight or somethin'," Daze complained in jest, wiggling a bit closer to Kamrun once he noticed she did something similar.

Daze piped up and added to her statement, which seemed to make Bruce smile. Kamrun want doing to correct Daze, a bath house would be awesome, and she hasn't yet decided on the clinic/pharmacy/apothecary, whichever she decided to open and work.

"I always want to help out," she said to Bruce and grinned, "alright two days. Guess i can stick around till then," she said, nodding and smiling as Daze moved closer to her. She looked having him close.

"I'm sure we can find stuff to do for two days," she assured Daze with a devilish grin to his joking complaint, "explore some caves, go on an adventure."

"Caves? Adventure? Man, this world sure has bred a strange generation of young kids," Bruce sighed, shaking his head. "Just don't break anythin' that can't be fixed or healed up, alright?" Bruce stated while waving his hand in the air, as if dismissing them.

"Don't worry old man, Kamrun's the best healer in the whole universe. Ain't a wound she can't heal up I bet," Daze boasted, bragging about Kamrun's healing abilities. "Let's go on that adventure... well, maybe after a shower," Daze attested, leaning over to his vest to smell it. "I think I smell like unappreciative cow," Daze laughed.

Cows really don't like being teleported.

Kamrun was glad Daze was up for just wandering around, but that was why she had suggested it. Bruce seemed to think it odd though, which just made her smile. He gave them leave to go with his blessing and she laughed, turning to Daze and poking him as he hyped up her capabilities.

"A shower would be nice," she admitted, having not taken one when she had gotten off the road and she was covered in the journey, sweat, and sand, lots and lots of sand. Everywhere.

Kamrun leaned forward and sniffed Daze, "I bet the cow did appreciate it," she said smiling and taking his hand, "but yeah, a shower for both of us would be nice, definitely need to talk to the council about a bath house."

After a gentle squeeze she let go of his hand, and made her way back up the stairs.

Daze
Daze didn't hesitate to follow her upstairs. Mostly because that's where the only shower was. It wasn't anything impressive like a bath house or a shower room. It was quite literally a bathtub and a shower head with curtains draped around it. There was a singular toilet and sink. It was a bit minimalist and a tad unrealistic to expect a whole building of people to share that.

But Bruce rarely had more than Daze actually sleeping there for longer than a night.

Well, Kamrun now too.

His beds were mostly used by those who got passed out drunk and could barely sit up much less walk home. Bruce didn't like to see people pass out in the desert before getting home. So he'd often get them upstairs into a bed.

Which he found to be quite the challenge.

"So, you want to shower first? I don't mind waiting, that is unless you want a shower buddy," Daze teased, still being polite to Kamrun about that sort of thing.

They got to where the shower was and Kamrun checked to make sure there was a clean towel inside, which there was, and then Daze asked if she wanted to go first, or maybe share and she grinned, "too small to share," she snickered, poking him in the side and flipped the light on and took a step back, "you can take the shower first, get the cow off you, I'll unpack while I wait and put the comics in your crate."

She nodded like it was the plan, one he had already agreed upon even though she didn't give him a say in the matter, and before he could protest she giggled and run off towards his room, swinging in like he was chasing her, not even sure if he was or not, and all but pounced on her backpack.

Only then did she look back to see if Daze was behind her with a protest of her leaving him to take the shower first.

Daze
Daze's first instinct was to chase her, but the smell of cow just sort of invaded his nostrils. It smelled of smells that are hard to describe due to an authors lack of knowledge on the subject. But just imagine what it smelled like.

"Oh I'll get her, but... after I get clean, I am tired of smelling this," Daze complained, actually having a sense of smell to protest the smell he's smelling.

It didn't take him long to strip or get the water going. He liked a cold shower after a long day of work, especially in this desert heat. It was a nice reprieve from the usual torture the environment brings to his day to day life.

He did have the idea of using magic to make it so he was in the room while also in the shower... but realized he'd get everything wet. A new habit of his. Thinking about things before doing them. Well, not quite a habit. More like a thing he's trying to do from now on.

It's hard.

There was no Daze, and Kamrun was just a little disappointed, letting out a falsely dad noise as she opened her backpack and began to unpack. She lifted a bundle of herbs, kept fresh by the magic of the bag, and she moved and hung these upside down by their stems on the window. She really hoped she wasn't bothering Daze with the smell of her drying herbs, she really needed to make a cache or something near town, so that her things weren't overtaking Daze's room.

Dirty clothes were next, set aside to be cleaned later. Then a couple books she put in the drawer Daze had made room in for her in the nightstand.

She really needed a place to put things to do taking space in Daze's room.

Lastly were the comics, which she handled carefully as she pulled out the milk crate that Daze's comics were in, and set the small pile down with his much larger pile.

Done unpacking, she sat on the edge of the bed with a happy sigh. But now with nothing to do, her mind was allowed to wander back to what she had learned.

She frowned, dwelling on it for a second before pushing it from her mind, and going to the wardrobe to select a new set of clothes to go adventuring in.

She really needed to stop taking over Daze's room with her stuff.
