Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Awake and Alive; Daze

Kamrun
The darkness she had been swimming in stopped being suffocating after she stopped fighting it. Instead it was warm, still smothering, but like a cocoon. She rested, promising the blackness she would keep fighting it in a minute, once she caught her breath.

In truth she lost track of how long she was there in that fuzzy darkness, but when she felt pin pricks in the back of her mind, she had to move. Daze... she knew it was him, it was a pull on her chest, right where his magic was settled, she felt anguish there, Daze was suffering.

She pushed the darkness and it pushed back, trying to get her back to a stagnant state. She fought, grunting and growling in annoyance, flailing her arms to fling the tendrils away, then finally she broke through. She had to hold a hand to shield her eyes, they adjusted quickly and she saw that she was under blue skies, warm green grass beneath her feet, the air tasted like salt. She knew this place, it was near Haven, on a cliff.

And standing with back to the edge, was Daze. Drawing breath suddenly hurt, a stretching pain like her lungs were too small to breathe normally. He was in the white silk, his hair longer, framing tired, sad, pained golden eyes.

He looked at her like it simply hurt to live, then looked away, lowering his gaze to the ground.

Daze, she tried to say but her lungs drew too little breath for her to speak. He looked up like he heard her, then one foot moved back, and then the other, lining perfectly with the edge. He bowed his head, and lifted his arms to either side of him.

No! She lurched forward to stop him, but something wrapped around her arm. She looked and saw a black tendril thick around her wrist. She gasped and looked behind her, there existed nothing but a wall of shifting amorphous black.

She looked away, back to Daze, who was looking at her, waiting. She moved forward again and another tendril sit out, wrapping around her other arm, trying to pull her back but she yanked it away, so one wrapped around her foot. The more she struggled the more tendrils shot out to drag her back to the darkness.

She fought, reaching for Daze only to have her hand snatched back. One wrapped around her throat, cutting off what little air she already had and she grabbed it, tried to pull it away, trying to scream for Daze.

Her feet were yanked out from under her. Her body hit the ground and hurt. Just hurt. Her hands hit the ground. Clawing. Pulling up grass. Carving trenches into the dirt. Wild eyes staying. Mouth silently screaming.

Daze looked at her, sad and serene, then lifted his face to the sky, hair slipping from his shoulders, standing on the edge, until gravity pulled him back, and he tipped over, falling back and disappearing behind the edge.

She screamed, her voice finally breaking free, only to one again be silenced by the suffocating darkness.

---

Kamrun gasped, eyes opening as her body jerked awake. Breathing came easily now, albiet quickly, as wild eyes searched, eventually recognizing where she was in the moonlight.

She lifted from the bed and grimaced and hissed in pain, touching where the skin was sutured, but ignored it. She remembered what happened.

"Daze," she gasped, "Daze," where was Daze?

Daze
Not long after the battle at Central, Daze returned to the tower. He managed to avoid talking with Korin and simply retrieved Bruce and the still sleeping Kamrun. All he wanted to do was go home. Go where it was safe. Go where he knew he could be happy. It was the only place he could be happy right now.

And only if Kamrun woke up.

Not once did he leave Kamrun's side. sitting there, casting his healing spell on her continiously... fruitlessly. Each time he'd mutter the words "you're not done yet..." but not to her. To himself. His words normally meant to encourage others, was aimed at himself this time.

After exhausting his powers, he'd pass out on the bed only to wake and go again. Hoping that somehow his healing factor could help her in some remote way. He knew it wouldn't. But it was all he knew to do. Thankfully during his spurts of unconciousness, Bruce would come in and help out. He'd use a damp cloth to clean the sweat from Kamrun, make sure she was covered up properly and leave food for the two of them.

Daze would always leave Kamrun's portion alone. When Bruce came to check again, he'd take the tray down and bring up a new one with fresh food.

When Kamrun finally awoke, she would be able to see a tray with two bowls of soup next to the bed. Both still warm. Daze, however, was harder to find. As in he was on the floor next to the bed, passed out from exhausting his magic energies trying to restore Kamrun to full health.

Daze wasn't there, not on his side of the bed, or by the window, or in a corner or anything. She panicked for worry of where he was, what he was doing. She gritted her teeth and hissed as she moved, forcing herself into a sitting position, and then breathing heavily like she had run a mile. She looked down at herself, where her skin was pulling, and touched the end of the sutured wound where it lay under her ribs, then where it was on her chest.

She paused when she saw the table with two bowls on it. Two. If Daze wasn't here, Bruce was, and Bruce would know where Daze was, he had to. She didn't know how it was she got here, the last place she remembered was the one place with the black man, and Roots and Daze, and so much pain in the both of them.

Gritting her teeth again, she swung her legs over the side of the bed, bracing for what she knew would be a painful journey down the stairs to Bruce and hopefully some answers.

She never made it to Bruce.

Her foot brushed something hard and she looked down to find Daze lying there. This brought no relief, as he looked dead, rather than the peaceful expression of sleep she had seen so often. She slid from the bed and her knees hit the ground, reaching for him with baited breath, pressing her fingers and finding a pulse. She almost chocked on her relief, sighing and breathing again. She looked him over, hand gliding over the silk on his skin on his shoulder, then back, brushing into the soft strands of his hair.

Her lip trembled as she looked to his face, brow bending. She lifted her hand from his hair and lightly touched his cheek, tears, hot, stung the corners of her eyes and her cheeks as she cradled his face.

"Daze," she whispered, taking a breath to stifle a sob, "... I'm so sorry."

Tears fell onto his face, dripping down his cheek and rolling onto his lips. The salty liquid was a wake up call to exhausted slumber. A slumber interrupted by the most pleasant sound he had ever heard in his life. Something he was scared he would never hear again. Something... he couldn't live life without anymore.

Kamrun's voice.

Although the rejoiceful feelings were cut short by the context of her words.

"No, you have nothing to be sorry for," Daze assured, sitting up and wrapping his arms gently around her, careful to be mindful of her wounds.

The last thing he needed was to re-open her wounds.

"I should apologize... if I wasn't so caught up with my bickering with Roots, maybe... maybe I could have prevented what happened," Daze sighed, blaming himself for giving into Roots' demands for a fight. He should have remained persistent and decline the demands of the Saiyan.

Tending to the wounded Pride of Roots was not worth the price.

When he woke up, she held her breath, sucking in her bottom lip and moving her fingers from his face, waiting, fearful of what emotion would come from him.

Fearful she'd see that face standing on the edge of the cliff.

He spoke and sat up and she could barely meet his gaze, but did not allow herself to look from his eyes, not until he put his arms around her, gently, like she would break.

She did, in a way, she took a shaky breath and wrapped her arms around him. She wanted to just be held by him, and nothing else. That was a selfish thought, one that lingered for a moment before she pushed it away, lifting her head from his shoulder, and brushing her hand against him.

"Getting... tears all over your... your pretty silk," she said in gasps, smiling, trying at humor, but failing because she herself couldn't stop crying. Her failed smile turned to a frown again as her fingers brushed the silk.

She leaned back enough to look in his eyes, hand touching his face again. She felt like she didn't deserved to touch him, but she had to. She had questions, mostly why he was fighting with Roots, instead she took a steadying breath and asked, "are you okay?" in a cracking voice.

"Oh, sorry.. I didn't even realize I was, one second," Daze sighed, relaxing his body and muscles, dispersing the magic that began to feel more normal than his own skin.

Slowly the white silky material began to droop off of his body, fading into nothing as it couldn't exist without the magic flow of energy from him. The extended hair seemed to almost recede, same with his lashes and brow, which were all extended in minor manner due to the enchantment.

"Yeah, I'm... I'm good now, now that you're okay. I mean.... you are okay, right?" Daze asked, with a forced, but weak, smile.

Kamrun moved her hands as the silk fell away, feeling it glide along the hand still on his back, watching as the white gave way to dark skin and scars. She looked up again when he answered her. He was okay, he didn't seem that, but he said it, and she smiled with thin lips and shook her head, "I'll heal," she said softly, "I always do but...," she paused, smiled fading, "I... I lost your friend."

She took another shaky breath, "I thought I could help and all I did was cause her to lose focus," she frowned, remembering when Angeles dropped her weapon and pushed her out of the way, to be consumed by the darkness. And she looked down.

"I didn't want you to lose someone else, I didn't want you to be that hurt again, and it happened anyway," she moved her hand, touching the strands of silk that were beginning to fade away. Her lip trembled again and tears threatened to start flowing again.

"Everyone else is okay? Roots, Bruce that... that one guy... I don't even know who he is...," she lifted her eyes to Daze again. Was anyone else hurt? Did the reaper go after any others of Daze's friends?

"No, no... it wasn't your fault. Everyone, Bruce and all of 'em are fine. Everything is fine, we took out the trash and cleaned up after ourselves," Daze said, using a metaphor of sorts.

In truth, his memory of the event is fragmented. He has memories of people being hurt, pain, anger and rage. But nothing concrete. But he has memories of victory and relief. Like the world got lighter for not just him, but the lot of them. The details on Angeles are fuzzy, but Kiryu said something, doesn't remember what. But it made him feel reassured.

"I'm just, so very tired. I pushed myself too hard, but I'm done yet," Daze smiled, lowering his hand and pumping his healing energies into Kamrun again. "But I'm glad you're safe... you and Bruce... that's what matters right now. Speaking of, the old guy left us some soup. Do you have an appetite?" Daze asked, feeling a bit light headed from spending more of his energy.

Daze assured it wasn't her fault, but he wasn't there, he didn't see Angeles make the choice between her and herself. But he said that everyone was fine, which was good, said that they took out the trash and she bent her brow in worry. Had the reaper come back for her? Were there others? Other Darknesses, other undead people? Was it the necromancer or someone else?

She held back, Daze didn't need the flood of emotion and she bit her lip, looking down at him again and steadying her breathing, "I'm glad you're all okay," she managed to whisper.

Daze said he was just tired, but that he was glad her and Bruce were safe, and he touched his hand against her, and she felt the magic flow through effortlessly, save where the wound was, and it drew her attention again.

"S-still not...," she began, touching the large snaking cut. Her magic hadn't worked on it either. But she felt the itch of it, like it was mending together, slowly, at a natural pace maybe. Maybe the magic was having an effect, as good as an effect as it could. Who knew, the wound might not have healed at all otherwise. She couldn't say though, it just felt like a dead zone when magic touched it. Like when the reaper stole Angeles' healing power away from Kamrun.

Kamrun also noticed something else looking down at herself, "I've no shirt on."

She had almost gone downstairs to see Bruce with no shirt. She was glad she hadn't made it that far, poor man didn't need a topless woman strolling around his bar. It made her smile slightly, the thought.

Daze also mentioned that Bruce left them food and she looked up, the smile gone, "I could eat," she admitted, "how long was I... not awake?" She turned and looked at him, moving and touching his body, feeding the energy he spent on her back into him and whispered, "you need this more than I do."

"Huh, you know... I knew you didn't have a shirt on for the... I don't know, days you were out? Time's funny," Daze shook his head. "But I didn't actually realize it until you pointed it out to me," Daze said, looking down the entire time, realizing that he was doing so and shook his head to make eye contact with her again.

"Yes, food, that, distraction, let's eat----and hey... that's not fair, I'm fine. I've got all sorts of things keepin' me up an' goin'. You' need the healy stuff way way more," Daze said with a playful glare, moving his hand down to her side and running some more of his magic energy into her for healing purposes.

Not to mention it was a great distraction from the fact that he was staring. Not that Kamrun would likely care. It was more of a pride thing. He shouldn't do it and he knows it.

Shame, Daze. Shame.

Days. She didn't want to think about that, Daze and Bruce going through that, waiting to see if she would wake up from a coma or just.... die.

"I didn't realize it either till I pointed it out to myself," she said. He stared for a bit, and she couldn't help but smirk. She made a shirt with her magic, just a halter top, white, nothing fancy that let her wings breathe.

"Don't want to cause your friend to complain," she said quietly, then shifted and put her hand over his.

"Hey," she protested, looking at him, "it's not... Daze you--, you're exhausted. You need your strength for you," she poked him in the chest, healing him back, then tried to move his hand so he couldn't just give it back.

She hissed, fast sudden movements weren't good for stitches, "just help me up, back onto the bed Daze, I'll be okay," she promised.

"Yeah, let's get you up off the floor," Daze offered, giving her more than just an arm.

He focused on his own body for just a moment, trying to restore himself at a slightly accelerated pace. He intended to try to heal her once more, but he learned quickly that his spell was a sort of two trick pony. He wasn't used to having someone shoot the energy back at him. So it felt like he hadn't used it at all. In fact, he felt better than before.

But he found the residual magical energy in him.

"Alright, onto the bed then," he managed during his focus time, sitting down with her, making sure she didn't fall, placing a hand on her back and pouring more healing magics into her. In which, he immediately bit his lip, knowing full well she'd protest.

But he didn't care. He didn't know for sure it was doing nothing. Even if it was helping in the tiniest amount. He'd keep at it for as long as he could.

He did, however, look like a kid who was caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Doing the very thing he was just told not to do.

Daze agreed, now no longer distracted by her mediocre breasts and she used his shoulders to help herself up, grimacing and hissing though trying to do neither of them. He helped her onto the bed and she quickly buried the pain, sitting down, biting her lower lip and looking from Daze to the bowls of soup. Daze put his hand on her back to steady her or to pretend to do so, and she felt the magic run through her again and she snapped her head at him, giving him a stern look.

"Daze," she warned, poking him and transferring it back, "I'm fine, you need it, you look like you're about to pass out again, I'm finally awake."

She sighed, grimacing and moving closer to him, "Daze," she began quietly, "please don't, I don't like seeing you like this...," she looked up and touched his face lightly, "you really look like yo're about to fall over," she said softly, then attempted to smile, "who will feed me soup if you're unconscious again?"

"No, I'm fine, I won't be passing out. Can't, you keep giving the energy back. Plus I think I've gotten good at the whole thing. Only been casting that spell for what feels like three days straight. Must be my ninetieth maybe one-hundredth attempt," Daze smiled. "I don't even know if it does anything, but even if it did a little bit... a little bit times a hundred is bound to mean something, right?" Daze sighed, not having much skill in anything else.

"And... you really need me to feed you?" he said with a smile, happy that he was able to help in someway. Repay the favor for her taking care of him not too long ago.

Daze said he wouldn't pass out because she kept giving him energy back and she smiled, "means it's working," she said softly, she frowned when he detailed how he was taking care of her, and a hand moved from her lap to his leg. He was smiling, she was not.

"I'm sorry I made you worry.... that long," she said softly, looking at the ground but not seeing it for what it was. Seeing past it, past the wood and the grain. She couldn't imagine being up for days, casting healing spells and watching it do nothing.

For her, that would be Hell.

He asked if he really needed to feed her, and she looked at him and smiled sadly. She didn't, she could really feed herself, but he was smiling, happy to do it, "you need to take care of yourself too Daze," she said softly, "you've been through just as much...," she sighed, then smiled, a genuine one, albeit small, "we could feed each other, would that work?"

"Feed each other, huh?" Daze laughed very briefly. More of a chuckle really. "Yeah, I can see that going all sorts of well, let's do it," He said, knowing full well that this would likely resort in soup spilling, messes and, most importantly, smiles.

"Alright, but you get the first bite. You need it more," Daze claimed, grabbing at the bowl and utensil. He took the time to scoop up the first bite of it and bring it to Kamrun's face. "Make sure you blow, might be too hot," Daze said in a nurturing tone satirically.

He was happy that she was awake and felt the need to resort to playful ways to restore normalcy.

He wasn't good at this sort of thing.

Daze laughed at the suggestion, and that at least made her glad, that despite everything he could still laugh, it helped ease her own pain a bit. He said she would get first bite and snatches the bowl and soon before she could protest, getting a spoonful as she sighed and shook her head, still smiling softly.

He told her to be careful a joking nurturing tone and she smiled a little more, moving her hands to gather her hair to keep it from going into the bowl, then leaned forward and blowed lightly on the spoon. She made a soft noise as she took the bite, for the humor of it, of she could make Daze smile more, he would make her smile more. Together they would heal each other.

She chuckled playfully biting at the spoon as of she would steal it away with her teeth, then hummed as she moved away from it.

"Definitely Bruce's cooking," she commented softly, licking her lips, "my compliments to the chef."

She moved and reached for the bowl to feed Daze back when she noticed what was on Daze's arm. Daze, who was barely for wearing clothes, let alone armor. With a frown and a concerned look she reached forward and touched it, "what's this?"

Daze smiled at her playfulness with the spoon. He made dramatic faces in relation to her attempts to disarm his spoon hand. He was also careful not to pull. Last thing he wanted was to have her lose a tooth or something like that.

"Yeah, he is pretty good around the kitchen," Daze agreed.

Then the subject changed to a thing on Daze's arms. Something he sort of forgot about already.

"Oh yeah, those things," Daze chuckled. "A gift from..... just a gift," Daze corrected himself, unsure if he could call Roots his mate or not. "They do some weird science stuff to make my magic not do the crazy stuff it does to my head. I haven't figured 'em out yet, though," Daze admitted.

Daze chuckled and explained that they were a gift, to control the orbs in his arms, just like the spell Angeles had taught her. Kamrun frowned looking at the bracer and internally struggled with the implications.

"So this is... like at the tournament," she said. His 'true self.'

Her face twisted for a second, "why.... why?" she asked to no one, then fell to frustration, possibly the first time Daze had ever seen the expression before, and her fingers moved around, trying to find a latch or other securing fastener to take the damn things off.

Daze didn't need them. When there was no easily found way to remove them, she frowned, deeply, her brow furrowing, anger, something Daze had definitely not ever seen. Angeles' memories were dredged to the surface and she took from them the power she needed, not the one Angeles intended to teach her, but one unwittingly taught through the memory transfer.

In a burst of light, the bracers fell apart in her hands, sundered away from his arms. And the anger faded, leaving behind room for sorrow, "why do they keep trying to control you?" she whimpered quietly.

"Yeah, somethin' like that, I think," Daze said with a quirked brow; not sure on the details, but it sounded right. "I think it was made to help keep me--" Daze tried to answer her why, despite her not actually asking him before he got interrupted by her sundering them into nothingness.

His attention was brought to her mood and demeanor. She was obviously upset at the bracers. He wanted to dig and explore this new side of her. However, after watching her destroy the bracers effortlessly, he decided it would be best if he didn't get this side of Kamrun focused on him.

"Oh, well... I guess that's a way to take 'em off," Daze joked, trying to lighten the mood. Then her question hit home, snuffing out his previous curious nature about her mood. "Oh, yeah... cuz, well... I'm dangerous, I guess," Daze answered, scrunching his lips to the side a bit.
