Hello! Welcome to Broken Futures!

Although we are a based on Dragon Ball keep in mind that we use it for the elements the show brought to us. We are not using ANY canon characters, only the world in which the show was built on. We are mostly a free form RPG with some stats to help track character growth. However, for the most part, your stats only matter in important fights or large events ran by a GM/DM.

We don't have any specific guidelines on what can or cannot be written about. So long as the Zetaboards ToS isn't violated. If a topic gets mature, keep it reasonable and do your best not to violate the host ToS. We don't like to limit you to what you want to write about and will trust your judgement not to make any posts in the extreme.

We are set in Future Trunks' timeline so the world is in ruin. Which would classify it as post-apoc. It's always been the best-styled setting to build a new world on top of. We have built this site to be based around the actions of the players. You will help build the world you're playing in. Every action within major events will influence how the world structures itself.

We have no word count, no canon face claims, no post formatting and no drama. We want you to come here and have fun. Before you sign up, please look over the Game a bit to decide if you are interested. After you've made an account make sure to introduce yourself here and say hello in the Chatbox. We love new members and are a very welcoming bunch of people.

Awake and Alive; Daze

Kamrun
The darkness she had been swimming in stopped being suffocating after she stopped fighting it. Instead it was warm, still smothering, but like a cocoon. She rested, promising the blackness she would keep fighting it in a minute, once she caught her breath.

In truth she lost track of how long she was there in that fuzzy darkness, but when she felt pin pricks in the back of her mind, she had to move. Daze... she knew it was him, it was a pull on her chest, right where his magic was settled, she felt anguish there, Daze was suffering.

She pushed the darkness and it pushed back, trying to get her back to a stagnant state. She fought, grunting and growling in annoyance, flailing her arms to fling the tendrils away, then finally she broke through. She had to hold a hand to shield her eyes, they adjusted quickly and she saw that she was under blue skies, warm green grass beneath her feet, the air tasted like salt. She knew this place, it was near Haven, on a cliff.

And standing with back to the edge, was Daze. Drawing breath suddenly hurt, a stretching pain like her lungs were too small to breathe normally. He was in the white silk, his hair longer, framing tired, sad, pained golden eyes.

He looked at her like it simply hurt to live, then looked away, lowering his gaze to the ground.

Daze, she tried to say but her lungs drew too little breath for her to speak. He looked up like he heard her, then one foot moved back, and then the other, lining perfectly with the edge. He bowed his head, and lifted his arms to either side of him.

No! She lurched forward to stop him, but something wrapped around her arm. She looked and saw a black tendril thick around her wrist. She gasped and looked behind her, there existed nothing but a wall of shifting amorphous black.

She looked away, back to Daze, who was looking at her, waiting. She moved forward again and another tendril sit out, wrapping around her other arm, trying to pull her back but she yanked it away, so one wrapped around her foot. The more she struggled the more tendrils shot out to drag her back to the darkness.

She fought, reaching for Daze only to have her hand snatched back. One wrapped around her throat, cutting off what little air she already had and she grabbed it, tried to pull it away, trying to scream for Daze.

Her feet were yanked out from under her. Her body hit the ground and hurt. Just hurt. Her hands hit the ground. Clawing. Pulling up grass. Carving trenches into the dirt. Wild eyes staying. Mouth silently screaming.

Daze looked at her, sad and serene, then lifted his face to the sky, hair slipping from his shoulders, standing on the edge, until gravity pulled him back, and he tipped over, falling back and disappearing behind the edge.

She screamed, her voice finally breaking free, only to one again be silenced by the suffocating darkness.

---

Kamrun gasped, eyes opening as her body jerked awake. Breathing came easily now, albiet quickly, as wild eyes searched, eventually recognizing where she was in the moonlight.

She lifted from the bed and grimaced and hissed in pain, touching where the skin was sutured, but ignored it. She remembered what happened.

"Daze," she gasped, "Daze," where was Daze?

Kamrun
Kamrun almost winced at the reason he guessed at and she leaned over, reading her head against his shoulder, "everyone has the potential to be dangerous," she said softly taking a shaky breath, "even I do. That doesn't give them the right to shackle and... and hurt you to get you into a state they deem 'safe.' I don't see them putting such precautions on themselves. They're just as dangerous as you are."

She sighed, closing her eyes, "s-sorry," she sniffed nuzzling his shoulder, "I think you're doing fine without outside control."

She sighed again, reluctantly leaning away from his shoulder, "let's... let's keep eating," she said, teaching for the spoon of the bowl she had, adding without heart, "your turn."
