With all the work that it was taking for Ja'vosh to move into a new weyr, he still kept careful tabs on the egg that he had chosen for himself. Not that he was really wanting a flit, but Quenath was wanting one to keep him company. And there wasn't nothing that the Bronzerider would not do to keep his dragon happy. Mine, it's hatching. Quenath informed his rider. Coming Que. With food. Ja'vosh replied, silently, as he got up from the table in the Dining Hall, where he had been enjoying a small break and a cup of klah. A few minutes later, he arrived and made his way over to where the egg had been kept. Ja'vosh sat down and watched as it bounced and danced, as the little inhabitant did everything possible to escape it's shell. Suddenly, a loud pop could be heard, and a leg extended forth. A couple more snaps and cracks, and a little bronze colored head appeared. Within a matter of moments, the little bronze was completely free of his shell and creeling in hunger. Ja'vosh quickly offered the little hatchling something to eat, right away. The bronze snatched it away, and swallowed the bit of meat in one go. "Hey now, you need to chew that." Ja'vosh gently scolded, while offering another piece of meat. The little bronze did his best to try and inhale all the meat, but the Bronzerider wouldn't let him do so. A bit later, the flit had finally gotten his fill, and had fallen asleep in Ja'vosh's lap. He was finally able to get a good look at the flit, and gave a chuckle. "Quenath, we have a mini of you here." He told the big Bronze. "I think I'll name him Mini Que. What do you think?" I think it's a good name. Quenath agreed. |
