The plague hadn't taken His. However, it had taken all of theirs. Endu sat on the edge of a chair, watching the assorted mix of dragonless the hemmed it's ranks as soon as another appeared. Some seemed to take it better then others. But he knew better. It was a burning ache that never faded. EVER. So, he watched them. Cradling his beloved Tidus against his shoulder as he had done since the little flit was born. His terror at losing the little part of himself that he shared with Asklepoth demanded the boy of always keeping in touch or sight of him. Tidus had also adapted to this behavior. He loudly defended his anytime a person even reached out to touch him. Berating the unsuspecting with a nearly fiendish fervor as he toppled clumsily on his Person's shoulder with flapping wings. And here they were. Endu gripped the edges of his seat tighter, weighing the pros and cons of helping his fellows. What if they wanted to disappear too? The boy swallowed. Finally, he left his chair and approached the one he'd heard called... "Daltan." he whispered, ready to jump away at any sign of aggression. He would not let Tidus be taken too. Some of them did that too.... |

Daltan looked up from what she had been doing, somewhat listlessly, which was oiling Brat. The sky blue flit had stuck close to his, not pulling his usual pranks since Tagoth had died from the plague. "What?" She asked, looked towards Endu. |

| Endu tilted his head slightly as he offered a very tentative gesture towards the flit. "What's his name?" |

| "Brat, because he tends to be one." Daltan replied. She gave the boy a brief, sad smile. "He tried to eat my fingers when he first hatched." |

Endu nodded, glancing at Tidus. "This is Tidus. I just got him a little bit ago and he doesn't have friends yet." The boy's eyes narrowed slightly as he considered his offer. "Does Brat have any friends? Maybe he and Tidus can be friends." |

Gn'dolf was sitting in the room full of those that were called dragonless. He was surprised to see how many were sitting like zombies, barely moving, barely breathing, barely alive. Did he look like them? He noticed a young lad cradling a newly hatched flit enter the room. He looked wide eyed and scared to be here, at least that's the impression he got. He watched as Endu stopped to talk to Daltan who was oiling a small skyblue flit. He felt a small smile try to etch its way across his mouth. His smile felt a bit weird, it had been awhile sense one had come to his face on its own accord. He had to think about it some, was it a good feeling? Yes he decided it definatly was a good feeling. Gn'dolf looked around the room again at the sameness and differences in the dragonless that was gathered there. As he looked at them all, he noticed how far he had come. He still had his terrible days, days where he wished he could just gather the courage to between. And he had his good days like today, where he felt better, not healed, he would never be totally healed, but this was much closer to normal then he had been. Now there is a interesting statement, 'normal', what the heck was that? Shaking his head at the thought, he turned his attention to the side board where there was food and Klah. He got up and headed for the Klah he needed a cup. On his way back, he stopped at the table where Endu was talking to Daltan. "Hi, looks to me like you are wearing more of that oil then he is." Gn'dolf gently teased, trying hard to smile at the pair. "I'm Gn'dolf, your flit looks newly hatched." He said in greeting to Endu. "What are their names?" He asked trying hard to be pleasant. Iago was pressed against Dakoda's heart, where he had been since he had hatched. The flit seemed to have developed a great tolerance for being squished against the lonely, sad girl. Dakoda had been sitting alone for a while, but then she got up and began to pace. It was a bad habit that she had always had, only now it was worse because of her misery. As she strode passed Daltan and Endu with their blue flits, Iago cooed lightly, and looked out from under Dakoda's hand. He was curious about the other flits. Dakoda held him protectively before inching closer to the two of them, and the other dragonless man with white hair. "Iago is looking for friends too," Dakoda said softly. She didn't know if anyone had heard her, or noticed her. |

Endu swallowed thickly. He wasn't going to run away. He.... Tidus scrambled against his neck, creeling darkly at the assembled group as the boy struggled with the nervous vibe dancing in his gut. A hand touched the small blue's back, as he regained the slight control he'd gained over his scrambled thoughts. They were all just like him. That's what the Candidate Master had explained to him. He was convinced Endu could help them. Because Endu alone knew the same pain they did. "Tidus." he stated thickly. "I'm... I am Endu." He would not go back to Kelundal. He was not alone despite the echoing darkness that used to be Asklepoth.... "I.... I am.... hoping we can be...." Not friends. The word felt wrong. His mouth twisted up as he tried to find the right word. He knew it was there.... "Well, we are all..." Tidus nipped his ear. Endu blinked, gasping slightly as the little blue firelizard creeled gently at him. It was a habit the blue flit had developed when he began to sink into the despairing darkness of being alone. |

Dakoda looked at Endu and watched him struggle with words. She crushed Iago to her chest tighter, wondering if she had made a mistake in approaching the others. "I shouldn't have come over," She mumbled to herself looking down at her feet. Iago cooed softly, a muffled sound from under her hand. He wanted her to talk to the others. She stayed where she was, despite the feeling of not wanting to be around these people anymore. They were like her, weren't they? They were all alike, and....Dakoda felt tears well up inside her. They had all lost someone as precious to them as Iaeth had been to her. A single tear rolled down her cheek, and then she stiffened her spine, trying to find strength. "We are all similar," She finished for the boy gravely. |

| Awkwardly, the boy reached out and patted Dakoda's arm. It was no more then a second, but it showed he wasn't going to vanish either. |

Gn'dolf stood quietly and watched. He didn't move an inch. He wanted too, but he couldn't. He didn't mean to upset them all. "I ... er. .. I'm sorry." He stammered as he turned around and walked back to to his chair. He didn't know what he had done, or if it was just because they were all the same, they all were hurting in various different levels, some more then others it seems. He put put his cup on the table, and leaned over and put his elbows on his knees then his head in his hands. He didn't know what he was doing there, maybe he should just leave. |

Dakoda took a seat beside the white haired man. She touched his arm quickly before pulling away, and then tried to offer him a weak smile. "No one can seem to do or say anything right at the moment," She said trying to offer him some comfort. "Would you like to see Iago?" She asked slowly and cautiously extending her hand and holding the little blue flit out to the other dragonless man. |

Gn'dolf looked at the girl holding the flit out to him. She looked as miserable as he felt but he appreciated her offer to pet her flit. Looking at her to see if she was serious, he offered a smile. It didn't look like one but he tried. "Thank you Dakoda, are you sure it's ok? I'd like to pet your Iago if he doesn't mind that is." He asked as he slowly started to reach out toward those little eye ridges. His hands trembled as thoughts of betraying his lost life-mate flashed before his eyes. Mentally shaking himself, he steadied his hand and waited for the final ok from the flit. He knew they could and would bite if their permission wasn't given. He hoped it would be ok, it would be the first time sense the tragity he even wanted to touch any living thing, and the tiny blue would be the first dragon kind he had wanted to touch. "Does owning Iago help make it easier to bear?" He asked quietly. He knew there were flit eggs on the sands, and although he hadn't wanted one, her answer might change his mind if it helped any at all. |

| "Iago is friendly," Dakoda said, but she held him as close as she could while letting the other boy touch him. |
