Splitting Into Wings - Aurek1 Weyrlings T02 P03 M07 D12

Once A'miri was satisfied with the order he placed the younger Weyrlings in, he turned his attention to the much neglected older Aurek1 Weyrlings. They should have been much further along. And although the plague has had them all housed and stuck together, they were getting restless and tired of papers and tests. He was looking forward to getting this class busy, before Miss Astrid did something else to try and get him in trouble with the Weyrleaders.

He decided they were past due to be assigned class wings also, and even if there was only six of them, they could be two seperate wings of three. He sat quiet a moment in reflection, they lost one of this class to the plague, Lo'bas and Blue Welzath were gone. Damn this plague!

A'miri got up and paced a bit before filling his ever present cup of Klah. Walking a bit eased his sore muscles before sitting down and working on who he wanted in what wing. All of these got along fine with the exception of Astrid at first. He hoped the class was over their original snit and would be willing to work with the girl.

A'miri had 1 Brown, 2 Blues and 2 Greens. He split them into two groups. They weren't going to be even but he couldn't help that.

ATTENTION Eurek1 Weyrlings
These are your new wing assignments, Please show up for class and seperate into these groups. Girls against the boys. Lets see what Astrid does with a bit of authority. He was hoping she would prove him right after all.

Blue Team
Astrid and green Savorath (leader)
Briallen and Blue Kineth.
Athendora and Green Nariath

Red Team
L'ndel and Brown Duriath (leader)
E'then and Blue Craibianth

A'miri checked his lists again and nodded, this order would work good. He grabbed a fresh sheet of paper and carefully penned the list neatly. Once he was done with that he checked the basket of dyed rag scraps he got from the weavers. He seperated out three blue and three red strips of the right size and put them in a seperate basket. These would be for the Weyrlings to wear on their arms so everyone including the younger ones would know what wing they were assigned.

That done, he set asside the scribbled notes in a neat pile before adding them to his file drawer. Gathering up his two lists and the two baskets of colored arm bands, he called it a night. Tomorrow would be good enough for this part of the lesson. Filling his cup with lukewarm Klah, he covered the glow basket and shut his door behind him. Achilleth waited for him patiently just outside the building.

Tying the baskets to Achilleth's straps, A'miri decided he needed some much needed food. He had worked through the evening meal and his stomach was complaining loudly. Achilleth, if you don't mind, I'll grab something to eat real fast in the Dinning Cavern before we go up to our Weyr. Good, you need something to eat. I don't wish your complaining stomach to keep me awake MINE. I think the choices you made for the Weyrlings are good. They should work out well. The big bronze answered as he settled back down to wait for HIS to grab something to eat.

A'miri stopped at bulletin board just outside the Dinning Cavern to post the lists he had made for the weyrlings to see when they went in for breakfast. Once done, he headed for chow that he knew would be sitting for those that came in late. He loaded his tray with his favorite things. Just as he started to eat, he felt his pocket wiggle. He had totally forgotten that green Little Nipper was sound asleep in there. It was meal time for her too.

Soon she wouldn't fit in his pocket anymore she was growing fast. He had fed her to over stuffed before working on the lists, and she smelled the food and was now asking for her share. Putting her on the table in front of him, he cut a few meat rolls and fed her carefully. She lived up to her name, she delighted in nipping his fingers every time. He was greatful that she had stopped drawing blood. These days it was more in a playful manner.

Once done, they tired Weyrling-Master and little stuffed Nipper, headed outside to catch a lift to the Weyr.
