"That... may be related. And you have a lot of stuff, Schuller. I will break most of it. Hell I'd probably break the movie while we're watching and that is just incredibly frustrating.

Its no big deal to put the projector outside, i've already got the screen for it. I did always like the drive ins as a kid though, maybe we could buy one and try to turn it around.

That sounds excellent. Either of those options really. I've lost count of the references that have gone over my head.

Not so much a conversation, but this seems a perfect place for random character fleshing out.

It came up in a real life conversation that young Brighid wouldn't have seen much TV or common kids movies and I realized something terribly amusing: Young Brighid would hate old disney movies.

"So these three Summer fae convinced the king to not invite the local Winter sidhe who's clearly more potent; clearly he's not fae savvy. They didn't even repay the gifts given; the poor girl's going to be nothing more than a puppet.
OH! Well played, now the kingdom's going to be firmly set against Maleficent while the Summer three have sole control over the princess. Yea, I don't buy this bumbling act for a second.

Uh huh, she just happens to see the face of the one person who can break her spell in her dreams, how much you wanna bet he's in neck deep with Summer himself. Yea, he knows about wood sprites and has a sentient horse, total coincidence that he's her "destined" true love. Mmmhmm.

Heh, Summer obsession with aesthetics are going to get them found out. Suits them right.

So the other king is completely useless, an easy lackey for the Summer; looks more and more like a consolidation plan; not believing this 'we have no idea about this strange boy' nonsense.

'Mistress of all evil' Totally not Summer biased writing.

They put the whole kingdom to sleep? To keep them from the surprise of hearing about Aurora? That's kind of . . . unless they're just putting a spin on only being able to stop the curse by spreading it out. This whole thing is just pro-Summer half-lies isn't it?

She strait up explains how they're playing him, but he's too thick headed to see it. Not surprising.

She's not even hurting him, just keeping him from completing Summer's plans, even with the writer's exaggerations. Look, she didn't even hurt the horse, so much for being the 'Mistress of All Evil' She's just stopping the power play-Look, everything she's doing is to slow him, not kill him.

'all the powers of Hell' what a blatant load of- I don't even- Fae don't- NO. Fucking no.

and it's all so poignant and happy 'And Summer gained an unbalanced control of the region and everything was wonderful and the kingdoms were complete puppets to their Summer masters as the wild places overgrew and chocked out their cities and towns."

I've never really thought about it but it's true. All of Disney is one massive summer pr machine.

Only exception I can think of is Frozen.

Well, generally any time there's more than one group of fairies they're pretty consistently divided between the ugly, dark, evil ones and the pretty, friendly helpful ones even when they aren't explicitly seelie/unseelie or Summer/Winter, Disney's just putting a fresh coat of paint over existing tales.

Of course, this sort of fact does nothing to reduce her distaste of them.

As a side note, I can no longer look at fairy tales without the urge to scrutinize them via Brighid-esque deconstruction. Which inevitably makes them much more entertaining for perhaps the wrong reasons.

at some future point when things have settled
To Winchester: "I've been thinking, due to recent events and general need: we need a better form of communication. I've seen many different approaches to messaging other practitioners, but without fail anything that isn't one-way one-shot messages requires a fixed location, set up time, or mental magic. I don't believe there is any hard limit in this, just a lack of imagination: practitioners being set in a "good enough" attitude or basing their tools on contemporary mundane methods."

She gestures to a pile of drafting papers covered in notes and annotations

"I've come up with several rough drafts and settled on two viable approaches: Likely the most efficient method would be two or more separate but linked foci: since each focus would require constant power in order to always be available to initiate contact, it makes sense for each practitioner in the link to act as the power source for their own focus. Of course this means that each focus must be made to the paradigm of that practitioner but still compatible with the other practitioners.

Alternately, it ought to be possibleto create a system with an independent energy source which would be more difficult to manufacture and maintain, but would make expanding the link far easier since there would not be any issue of paradigm conflict.

This then lead me to this mind trap"
She gestures to an easel on which sits another sheet of drafting paper covered in some sort of utterly indecipherable diagram with an air of expecting it to be self explanatory.
When she realizes that Winchester has neither the raw Lore not thamaturgic knowledge to make any sense of it she collects herself and moves on.

"I'm trying to determine if the two systems could be merged without excessive increase in complexity by making each practitioner powered unit cooperate only with the independent loop and thus not requiring exponentially more precise control to incorporate more paradigms and also to allow non practitioners to be brought into the loop while still allowing practitioners to power their own foci to reduce energy requirements."

I'd like to purpose the idea of using enchanted item slots or items of power for non-casters for magical communication. As it stands Brighid could feasibly get a hold of whoever via thamaturgy but they'd have to wait for her to initiate the conversation, this would allow more options to keep communication running

I believe that it could be done. The enchanted item slots would be easy to take care of if you have the right elements. Items of power would be harder to come by though.

My thought was to simply create the items of power.

Here demonstrating the key distinction between simple and easy.
