Litho walked through the once breathing city of Vryllnithia, bags tightly locked up to ward off wandering paws while his son carefully placed on his back between his two wings, secured and out of view. They were on their way home after a nice exploration outing to an abandoned temple that he found from a map in a bottle Percy had found last week. The younger leiroid was so excited to live up to the family name of mapmakers and exploration, Litho didn't have the heart to say no. When they had found the temple, Percy had practically exploded out of happiness that left Litho fondly chuckling and urging his son on. The find itself, in the end, was not that big, only containing some small regeneration rigs but it was the memories made on that trip that was worth keeping for Litho. But now they were steadily making their way home, the moons high in the sky as day had passed and night rose. His little one was tuckered out, nestled deeply into his fur and feathers, snoozing away a hard day of work. The sight of it from every time he peeked back at Percy, made him smile fondly before tucking his wings closer to keep any stray wind away from him. |

Regulus pushed through the throng of fellow Dykletiun that had filled the square to its brim. Once a bustling center of activity, this particular city (the parts that hadn't been destroyed, that is) had been fragmented by corruption, war, and those humans which had taken the reigns several cycles ago. Neither Calis nor Regulus remembered the days where this city had been pure and untampered, for as long as they could remember, the inner guts of Vryll had been consumed by black markets and greedy pickpockets. Apparently the parts of Vryll that housed the Empire officials still had some dignity, presenting a neat facade that prevented outsiders from knowing just how bad things had gotten here. Calis trailed behind him, too small and frail of build to push his own way through. The dark matter knew well about Vryll's inhabitants, and he felt shady figures eyeing him like prey as he passed. It was moments like this where he was most thankful for his much larger friend- No. Bodyguard. Calis corrected himself midthought. It was a shame, for the last few months him and the larger anti-matter had bonded in a way. (He believed the correct word was friendship.) For a moment, the weight of Calis' plot to eventually betray the larger being weighed heavy in his chest, but he decided to push it away and deal with it later. Instead, he looked up at his traveling partner, squinting amber eyes against the burnt skies. Nestled underneath Regulus' feathered wing, a rather large scroll was bound and held in place with several belts of rugged leather. The scroll itself wasn't too heavy, but Calis' considered it rather beneath himself to partake in such physical labor. The scroll itself had been payment from their last client, who had promised that it led to a loot cache that would make the trip worthwhile. However, Calis was now regretting not taking credits for the whole operation, as despite being able to decipher "VRYLLNITHIAN EMPIRE" across the top, he hadn't made much progress. It was an old map, so old that Calis was mildly concerned that Regulus' brutish movements would accidentally destroy the thing should his claws grasp it. The real problem, however, arose when they first spread the aged canvas out in the safety of their ship. It wasn't written in the common language, with Regulus suggesting that it originated in the time where humans all spoke a different tongue. Sure enough, the writing seemed just a little too small, too delicate for one of their kind, and it was too easy to picture the small hands of a human delicately scribing each letter onto the canvas. They had consulted some of the shadiest locals, but no matter who they spoke to, no matter how much they paid, no one knew anything about the structures depicted on this forsaken map. After spending a week in this hell-hole, during which some clever sneak had helped themselves to a few of Regulus' ornate claw caps, they had finally found a lead. There was a map maker that called this place home. A little prying resulted in the name "Litho" coming up again and again, and a few credits was enough to learn where he lived. Arriving at the supposed home of this mapmaker, Calis slipped around Regulus and approached the door. He knocked a few times, then waited. (OOC: Sorry it took me so long, finals season was really rough ^^' ) |

Having made it home safe and sound, well as much as one could in this city that is, Litho was just done tucking his son into bed when he heard someone knock on the front door. Eyes narrowing, the bright leir considered the door from across the hall he now stood in, tail snagging onto Percy's door to quietly click it shut. He would rather not wake his son up, the older leir thought to himself as he lifted a paw to enchant a silence seal over the room. This would prevent any noise outside of the room, reaching in to wake up Percy. Just in case these visitors were not...friendly. It wouldn't have been the first time this silence seal served its use to Litho as past memories of fools who tried to break in to steal his maps or those even stupid enough to challenge him in a confined space. Let's hope this was a friendly visit for once. Litho slowly made his way to the door, eyes sneaking a glance at a small silence seal once more before dragging a curtian to cut off view down the hallway from prying eyes. Now of never, he could only think. Making way to the door, Litho wisely slid opened the peak hole with a small grunt, as he gazed out to see two Dys outside his door. Not bothering to unlock the door as of yet, he asked the others their business. "Hello, how can I help you?" - Meanwhile unknown to all, small eyes opened in the darkness as Litho had walked away from Percy's room. 'Today had been such a fun day today!' Percy could help but think, wiggling on his bed in excitement. Papa and he got to go exploring from a map he found! They even found treasure at the end! The look Papa gave when he showed him the goods was so happy and that made him happy! He must find another map again, it was so much fun to explore with Papa Litho! A not so soft giggle escaped the smaller leir as he rolled on his back to kick the blanket up in the air as his oversized wings flopped against the bed. How could Papa expect him to sleep now! He didn't want to sleep after all the fun they had after all! (OOC: That's fine, I had a blank myself on replying whoops!) |
