Back to the basics; Yet still ending up on the wrong end

The scene opens in the Dupree household in Shediac, New Brunswick. Once again, the sun is still down. The door opens to Rene Dupree’s room, and in walks Rene’s older brother, Jeff Dupree. Jeff has a Singapore Cane and smashes it on Rene’s back. This instantly causes Rene to wake up screaming.

What the hell is wrong with you?! That hurts! Do you have any sense?

I told you that you were mine. I gave you an extra couple of days to work with dad, hopefully increasing your stamina, but I watched you. I saw you still complaining after everything. You’re nothing. Well, even though you still can’t run two metres without having a heart attack, you’re coming with me to the ring. Now hurry and get up, slacker!

Rene gets out of bed. The scene reopens in the Grand Prix Wrestling training facility with Rene and Jeff walking in. Jeff is in track pants and a tank top, while Rene is wearing his royal blue robe.

Get that robe off. We’re here to train, not for some fashion show.

Rene takes off the robe revealing his regular wrestling gear.

At least you have wrestling gear. Get in the ring.

Rene and Jeff get in the ring. They practice the basics. First, they lock up, Rene hits a few hiptosses, some armdrags, snap suplexes, and other basic moves. Jeff keeps encouraging Rene to put more power into his moves, because he keeps getting up. Rene finally hits the moves and keeps Jeff down in pain for thirty seconds. After an hour of this, they move to submissions. Armbars, anklelocks, chinlocks, surfboard stretches, various ones. Through this, Jeff continues to yell at Rene to try harder, because Jeff is nowhere near tapping out. Finally, Rene locks in harder, and finally Jeff taps out. Rene continues this for another hour. How Jeff continues to stand is unknown. Jeff says they are going to do moves off the top rope, but when Rene turns around to go, Jeff hits a back suplex on Rene and locks him in a submission move. Rene is able to get out, but Jeff continues attacking. This chain of moves continues on for a half-hour, with the two equal to each other. Finally, Rene gets the upper hand and hits the Suplex D’Exploder on Jeff. Rene locks in a surfboard and Jeff taps. Rene continues to hold on, and screams:

We are no failure! Roi Rene Dupree is the greatest wrestler! Our loyal subjects know it, the EBWF wrestlers know it, and the EBWF fans know it!

Rene continues holding on, until five men rush into the ring and start beating on Rene. After a while, Jeff finally gets up, smirks and looks at Rene, while he is still getting beaten down.

You’re nothing. Five guys that you can’t take out. Show me your real strength. They’re there, waiting for you to beat them up. The only problem is, they want to beat you, and won’t wait idly by.

Rene is bleeding, when Jeff finally tells the guys to stop.

Rene, it isn’t great seeing you bleeding, but I’ve got to get you to better yourself. You should be able to make me tap out, you always have in the past. But I’m one guy. I can tell you I’m not EBWF calibre, hence why I’m not there, but you should be, and the only way to prove that is to get a bunch of guys on you, seeing how well you can actually do. And, you did quite poorly.

While lying on the ground, bleeding, Rene stumbles to speak.

You did all this? You want me to bleed? Well Jeff, when I’m ready, there is no stopping me, and you’ll be just another victim of the Suplex D’Exploder. And I’ll show you another victim tonight on Raw.

Actually, speaking of Raw, you’re not booked. I’ve got a whole day to kick your ass. See, even Wes can see how much you’ve fallen, and he doesn’t want you on the show, because you’ll lower the quality.

Rene grimaces, and looks at Jeff, wanting to get up and hit him, but Rene is too bloody and hurt to do anything. Jeff walks up and stomps him.

This isn’t the greatest thing I’ve ever done, but you better learn how to be a real wrestler.

Jeff picks him up and throws him into the corner. Jeff punches Rene in the stomach, and Rene is spitting out blood. Jeff turns Rene upside down, and hangs Rene by his feet on the turnbuckle. Jeff walks back, runs towards Rene and slides into his face. Rene falls off and lands on the mat. He barely moves, while Jeff walks away. He grabs a water bottle and throws it in front of Rene, who’s just lying on the mat.

I’ve trained enough people, and seen a bunch of wrestlers injured, you’ll be fine. Just give it ten minutes and you’ll feel better. You know where the showers are, you can wash off the blood. I want to see you back in an hour.

Rene shows a bit of movement as the scene ends.

The scene reopens with Rene putting on his wrestling gear after finishing his shower. Only his boots are left. He grabs his boot, but is hit on the back with a steel chair, courtesy Jeff Dupree. Rene falls down and tries to block further chair shots. Jeff gives Rene a few seconds to get up, which Rene does. Jeff swings the chair, which Rene ducks. Rene charges and spears Jeff into the lockers. Jeff crumbles down. Rene picks up the chair and starts smashing Jeff with it. The same five men jump Rene once again. Rene tries to get an advantage, getting in a few punches, and pushing one man’s head into the lockers, but the numbers are too much, and Rene gets winded. They don’t make him bleed again, but four hold him. The fifth speaks to him.

Man: Rene, your bro sent us to help him. You need to regain your edge. We’re some of the best graduates here. We’re not going to go easy on you, but we don’t expect you to do the same. You’ve got some back, attacking your bro with the chair, but that’s not enough. Rene, I mean it, you’re off the hook for a few hours. Rest up, eat, meet us back here at 3pm. We’re going to have ourselves a five-on-one handicap match and see how good this king actually is.

They drop him to the ground, and the scene ends with the Dupree brothers on the ground next to each other.

The scene reopens with Rene in the ring, and the five men getting into the ring. The referee is one of the various referees from Emile Dupree’s Grand Prix Wrestling promotion. The ref starts the match, and it is one man in the ring at a time against Rene. Rene gets the advantage early. As the match drags on, and the five men keep tagging in, they keep Rene occupied. Rene is able to get one of the men out of the match, but the four others still are too much for him. A powerbomb off the top rope by one of the men and the match is over.

You still need a lot of work. Five men should be a breeze for you. Let’s hope you’re better at running a country than you are wrestling, or else France is going to be a hellhole.

The scene ends with Rene on the ground and the men leaving the ring.
