OOC - Ideally there would be a decent-length in-ring or backstage promo in this rp as well. But once again procrastination is my downfall and I left it 'till after work to write and I'm now all sleepy and need my bed!!!

Sorry about that - hope you enjoy the little there is - I think it's the foundation upon which both a character and a relationship can be built in future roleplays.

JR: Headscissors take down... McIntyre has got those legs clasped firmly around the throat of Nick Nemeth...

The King: He’s choking the life right out of him... Nemeth’s really struggling here – he’s fighting but he doesn’t look like he’s winning.

JR: Desperation on the part of Nick Nemeth... he’s trying to escape, can he get to the rope?

The King: I don’t think he’s gonna make it...

JR: Nemeth taps... Nemeth taps, Nemeth taps... and McIntyre wins it!

The King: Nemeth took some punishment there... first there was that DDT, then the frog splash – then that headscissors finally got the job done on Nemeth – not the ideal first outing for him!

JR: An Impressive victory for Drew McIntyre. The self proclaimed Scottish Sensation is now two from...

And the screen was blank.

Surprised, he looked up to see the figure of Sean O’Haire standing there – evidently the man who had switched the off the television screen to which he was so transfixed.

Nemeth: Excuse me?

O’Haire: Trust me my friend; you’ve seen this clip more than enough.

Nemeth stared blankly at the man in front of him, incredulous. Here was a man he had never met – thinking he had the right to interrupt him as he prepared for his match this Aggression? He couldn’t quite believe it...

Nemeth: Firstly, I’m not your friend. Secondly, I don’t recall asking for your opinion on anything – now if you’ll excuse me I’d like to get back to my preparation.

He stood up to switch back on the television set – but once more he was left in disbelief as O’Haire stood in his way and put held his hand out onto his chest to restrain him. Who did this man think he was? He looked down at the hand on his chest and moved it away – a look of disgust on his face.

Nemeth: Seriously man – do not touch me again.

O’Haire: Yeah whatever – just sit down why don’t you?

Nemeth: I beg your pardon?

O’Haire: Just sit down and listen...

Nemeth was beginning to boil up inside now – who was this man to think that he could order him around like this? For a second he went to get in O’Haire’s face – but then sense took over from his fury. After all, the man probably had about six inches and fifty pounds on him. It wasn’t that he didn’t think he could take him – but any kind of physical confrontation was unwise only hours before his match.

O’Haire: You going to sit down?

Reluctantly, he did as O’Haire bid – wearing a glare of fury and disgust.

O’Haire: I remember I lost a match much like that once.

Nemeth: I’m sure you’ve lost many matches much like that.

O’Haire smiled and allowed himself to chuckle for a second – he gave no other reaction but instead elected to continue.

O’Haire: There were only two differences. I was not facing a fellow newcomer, I was facing industry icon Sting. Oh and, secondly, while Sting did lock in the infamous Scorpion Death Lock I didn’t submit...

Nemeth: Ok ok, I get your point – where is this going?

O’Haire: As I said I didn’t submit – instead so determined I was not to give in – I passed out from the agony.

Nemeth: Oh well now that’s much better...

O’Haire: You see, I watched that tape over and over and over again – much as you did. It drove me insane – for months. It wasn’t until I finally beat the guy months later that I let go of it. You know, I can’t say that the defeat wouldn’t have hurt anyway – but I can honestly say that the obsessive time I spent watching the footage did me only harm.

Nemeth had listened until now purely to avoid conflict – but by now he’d truly had his fill. He was no longer content to let this man’s bullshit ruin his preparation for facing Shane Helms.

Nemeth: Well thanks for that – but unlike some people I have a match to prepare for...

O’Haire: There was a time when such advice would have cost something – you got it for free. You should be grateful AND honoured...

Nemeth: Yes I’m truly honoured to receive a washed up loser’s advice.

O’Haire: Don’t blame me if you go out there and loose again...

Nemeth: Maybe I will for disrupting my fucking preparation.

O’Haire: Obsessively watching a clip of yourself losing is what you call preparation then?

Nemeth: Not everyone is like you pal – there was NOTHING obsessive about what I was doing. I was just trying to pinpoint where exactly I was going wrong. Trying to learn from my mistakes – maybe you should try it.

O’Haire: Believe it or not I’m trying to help you learn from mine. Does listening to those words really help?

Nemeth: What words?

O’Haire: Nemeth taps... Nemeth taps...

Nemeth: Ok, you can shut up now!

O’Haire: Why ever would I? You seemed so keen to listen to them over and over again before – Nemeth taps... Nemeth Taps – oooh I can just hear JR’s sonorous southern sound now – Nemeth taps... Nemeth taps...

He was gripped by a sudden fit of rage and all the reservation that had previously held him back seemed forgotten as he charged at the bigger O’Haire and grabbing him by the collar – shoved him against the wall – his whole body shaking with fury.

Nemeth: Ok damn it I tapped – you don’t have to keep reminding me!

O’Haire: You don’t have to keep reminding yourself – that’s the point.

Nemeth: Seriously man – I don’t want your advice and I sure as hell don’t need it. You’ll see tonight – when I go out there and I kick Shane Helms’ ass. The world will not remember me losing, the world will not remember me tapping – it will remember me going into only my second match and beating one of this companies biggest superstars. And when that happens – you and everyone else will know just how wrong you were to doubt me.

With that he finally let go of O’Haire’s collar and, still undeniably irked – began to back away – eventually walking out the door in a desperate attempt to cool off and calm down before he was in action.

O’Haire was left still leaning against the wall, a sly smirk on his face. It had worked well, better than he had expected – the way he’d attacked him and the intensity of his words were a real encouragement and evidence that his interest was not unwarranted.

The process had begun.
