LIFT OFF!

Breaking It Down!
By Bridget Virginia

Hey everyone, this is Bridget Virginia giving you guys the breakdown of an amazing and top-notch quality of another installment of Friday Night Conquest of Extrimus Immortalis Wrestling (EIW). And if you missed it on ESPN and yet don’t have The N!tro Channel, don’t fret cause this blond dynamite is here to make you feel like as if you were there. If you ever miss an EIW event, one of their live broadcasts, or even an iPPV, don’t fret cause I’ll always be there to report to you awesome fans. Together we’re going to make Extrimus Immortalis Wrestling a company beloved by everyone across the globe.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EXTRIMUS IMMORTALIS WRESTLING fans! It’s 2018 and what a way to kick off the New Year. Seven thrilling matches that I’ve been eager to watch as both a fan and employee in the company. New faces were debuting in the NRG Arena, while our fellow established Gladiators were once again ready to leave us all at the edge of our seats. I have to be honest, when I arrived in Houston I couldn’t legit pick a favorite match in the entire card. THEY WERE ALL JUST TOO AWESOME TO IGNORE! From the opening bout to the star studded main event. Friday Night Conquest certainly didn’t disappoint on the fifth day of the new year.

But let’s stop talking shall we? It’s time to sit back and relax as I breakdown Lift Off!

The 8 Gladiators for the Immortalis Cup:
-Jack Scorpion
-Calum Morgan
-Vincent Sinclair
-Ares
-Paralysis
-Jessa
-Gabriel Alexander
-Criss Cassidy

MATCH 1

The Breakdown

  • The next match is a matter of two men trying to prove they deserve a place in the company. Jack Scorpion holds a good amount of pride in his ability and seems to embrace the cheering of the crowd, especially after a scare that could’ve ended his wrestling career forever. Being “reborn again” makes a man think about things. And his opposition in this battle is a man that has waited foreeeeeeevvvvvvver to actually get inside an EIW ring. Callum Morgan may be the British Bad Boy (not to mention a fine looking man), but he’s not exactly one you should look down on at the least.

  • It’s an even battle from the word go. Scorpion goes for his bread and butter, speed, and it tends to work for him against the hyped as hell Morgan. But Morgan also manages to go toe to toe with his foe, equalling his speed. Scorpion takes his fair amount of risks here leaving it all in the ring...and sometimes outside of the ring. Morgan keeps him grounded as often as possible all the while soaking up the boos from the crowd and the swooning of the ladies.

  • Scorpion seems to have it won, knocking his opponent to the turnbuckle and killing his momentum. He goes for his Scorpion’s Sting knee strike but...SURPRISE, MOTHERFUCKER! (That's the name of the move, Mr. Advincola please don't dock my pay.) AND GOOOOOOD NIGHT, IRENE! Jack Scorpion is out for the three count as Callum Morgan wins in his first EIW appearance!

MATCH 2
Posted Image

The Breakdown

  • The opening bell rings as the only man that has a pinfall victory over the EIW World Champion Alan Envy Paralysis meets Criss in the center and immediately goes to underhanded tactics by poking his thumb in his eye. He clotheslines Criss and picks him up to do it again. This time he does a spinning clothesline and immediately goes for the cover but Criss easily kicks out.

  • Paralysis again goes for his go to move a variation of a clothesline but Criss counters it with a pele kick staggering Paralysis back and through the ropes. Criss launches himself on to Paralysis on the outside with a extremely athletic looking plancha and rolls Paralysis back into the ring. He climbs to the turnbuckle and nails Paralysis with a missile dropkick and covers him but Paralysis kicks out at two.

  • Later in the match Criss has still had control using his athleticism and variation of moves. Paralysis is down after a german suplex from Criss. He goes to pick up Paralysis but Paralysis shows some fight as he goes behind Cassidy and applies the sleeper! Before Paralysis could cinch it in Criss uses the top rope to launch himself off of it and counter the hold into a pin fall attempt. Paralysis had to let the hold go to get out of the pin. He and Criss stands up and Criss delivers a stiff wicked forearm right under Paralysis chin!

  • Criss is about to put Paralysis away as he calls for the Sharpshooter but Paralysis pulls the referee into Criss. As the referee is distracted the Psion punches Criss right into the testicles doubling him over. Paralysis small packages him into a roll up as the referee recovers to count the one two three!

Happy New Year

A sore and a bit disappointed Criss Cassidy was seen backstage getting interviewed by Stephen Dodson, being asked how it felt to gain his first loss against Paralysis. Criss admitted that he wasn't happy about feeling he could have started the New Year with a W. But he admitted that he was elated to hear that he would be participating in the inaugural Immortalis Cup. When Stephen had asked The Second Coming what his New Year’s resolution were, Criss was suddenly blindsided by an irate Paralysis. The man from another dimension was viciously beating down on Criss with heavy kicks and tightly balled up fists. But he was far from over. Pulling out a lead pipe from behind his pants, Paralysis repeatedly shouted “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” as he choked the living daylights out of Criss with the Parabolic Shock - Sleeper Hold pushing the pipe hard against his Adam’s apple. Not wanting anything horrendous to transpire, security arrived to liberate Cassidy from the deranged winner of the night.

MATCH 3

The Breakdown

  • The story of Jessa and Danny Hall doesn't seem like much to those who don't know the drama that paints the landscape. Ever since Alan Envy won the World Heavyweight Championship from Brien Storm, battle lines have started to become drawn. Jessa naturally supports her boyfriend and seems to roll her eyes at the whole damn drama or otherwise doesn't seem to care about anybody outside of herself and Envy. Hall, on the other hand, claims that his best friend is the real champion and wears his anti-Advancola #OccupyEIW shirt (not to be confused with Ares’ knockoff) with a matter of pride.

  • Both are driven by confidence if not full blown egomania from bell to bell, neither one willing to admit defeat against the other as they strike. More than once, the Obsession mocks Jessa for being little more than “Mrs. Alan Envy” before hitting her with devastating move after devastating move. Jessa, in turn, is resilient to the core. She bounces back and counters into some offence of her own.

  • In the final moments, there seems to be a faceoff. Jessa flips her hair, acting unimpressed as Hall stretches his arms out and give a mighty roar before they collide. They exchange blows. Jessa weakens under the brutality. Hall connects with Lovesick Harmony! The Infamous One catches her with a knee lift and is about to discus clothesline her head off. But Jessa ducks and hits him with a backstabber! Danny contorts in pain and rises as Jessa stalks him. She hooks him in for that falling inverted DDT...and connects! Hall’s chances of winning the match falls to pieces as she gains the victory.

The Ominous Arrival

The Breakdown

  • The bell was on it’s way to be rung for the third meeting between Justin Jones and Eddy Poe. Both Gladiators eyed one another with brutal intensity, itching to bash one another’s heads open. This rivalry had been going on for months, each heavyweight doing whatever they could to outsmart the other. Yes an unrevealed reward would be handed to the victor tonight. But it was more than that for the bitter rivals. They each wanted to prove who was the alpha male in EIW. Vincent Sinclair, dressed for the occasion, reminded both focused and pumped up Gladiators about the match and what it entailed. Once Sinclair had completed informing the two participants, he seemed ready to signal for the bell. Until it happened.

  • Right away all of the power in the NRG Arena was shut off, leaving everyone in it in complete darkness and confusion. Many of the fans were trying to figure out what was going on, hearing painful grunts and banging noises coming from the ring. In minutes power had returned and questions were answered. Well some of them. All eyes were glued to the ring, where three bodies were laid out bruised and battered. And in between them with a sledge hammer in hand, was a mysterious individual wearing a long hooded cloak. Just before we were pulled away from the brutal sight, an ominous voice seemed to come from the hooded large man. “Your judge. Your jury. And your executioner. He, has arrived.

MATCH 4

The Breakdown

  • Love and Costa started the match for their respective teams. Costa gained the early advantage, thanks to his brawling tactics, but “Mr. Love” battled back with a combination of technical prowess and high flying skill. In a move that thrilled the fans, Love grabbed Costa in a knuckle lock, ran up the turnbuckles, walked the top strand like a tightrope, and hit a textbook headscissors takeover. Costa used roughhousing tactics to regain and keep the advantage for several minutes before Evan nailed him with a flying forearm smash before making the tag.

  • The crowd was excited upon Addison entry into the match, because they knew they were in for nothing less than high octane, adrenaline fueled offense from the high flyer. Rayne’s strategy was apparent from the start: strike fast and strike often. The Tag Champ kept Costa off balance for a good portion of their time in the ring with her blistering speed. Ever the opportunist, The Platinum Playboi maneuvered close enough to his corner for Bas to make a blind tag. Rayne hit the far side ropes and ducked a Costa clothesline, unaware that she was about to crash into the brick wall that is Gavin Bas. Addison hit Bas and crumpled to the mat, dazed. The Celtic Killer took his time, bullying his much smaller opponent with body slams that left her gasping for air. A missed leg drop from Bas gave Addie the opening she needed to make the tag to Evan Love.

  • Being outweighed by over one hundred fifty pounds, Love fared no better against Bas than his partner did. The Scottish Sylvant withstood Mr. Loves hard hitting offense and unleashed an impressive display of brutal power moves that culminated in a one-armed biel throw that sent Evans three-quarters of the way across the ring. Evan pulled himself up in the corner and barely evaded being crushed by Bas as he charged in for an Avalanche Splash. Love took advantage of Bas’ miscues and tagged Rayne in.

  • The newly form tag team hit a rapid-fire succession of double dropkicks that had the giant Scotsman teetering. A chop block from Love, coupled with a flying cross bodyblock from Addison, finally brought the big man down. Rayne went for the pin, but Bas kicked out with authority, nearly sending Addie flying over the top rope. Bas tagged out to Costa, who battered Rayne, but couldn't secure the pinfall. The Fugazi Fighter tried unsuccessfully several times to pin or submit Rayne, and grew increasingly frustrated with each failure. Costa slammed Rayne hard to the mat, and went for The Marquee Move, but Addie brought her knees up at the last second, causing Costa to take the full impact to his ribs. Addison made the hot tag to Evan Love, who ran across the ring and hit a dropkick to the lower quadricep of Gavin, which knocked him off the apron. Love quickly tagged Rayne in and gave her the thumbs up sign. As Rayne ran to a neutral corner, Love pulled Costa, up then nailed him with The Heartbreaker superkick. As soon as Costa hit the mat, Addie came off the top with The Rayne Drop. Addie hooked the leg, and got the one, two, three.

  • The Houston fans exploded as the referee handed the belts to the tag team champions, who embraced before saluting the crowd.

The Breakdown

  • The much anticipated EIW Sovereign Title match begins as both ladies do a feeling out process. They exchange holds and numerous lockups as they both transitioned and countered mat wrestling holds. Both ladies finally stand up to rethink each others strategies as the crowd roared in approval.

  • Ashley’s change of strategy worked out faster as she got the upper hand and early control of the match went to her. The all around ring general by trade surprised Anna with a nice mixture of technical wrestling positioning her into numerous submission attempts. After Anna had another rope break called she delivers a hard right hand to Ashley’s jaw and delivers a straight thrust kick to Ashley’s face as Anna is now in control.

  • The champion keeps up the pressure on the challenger. The champion used her weight and strength avantage to ground and pound Ashley and kept her on the mat. Anna applies a double chickenwing trying to get Ashley to submit but the challenger refuses to. Anna lets go and delivers a mafia kick and goes for the cover. Anna shows her resiliency and kicks out which angers Ashley who starts putting on more abuse to the challenger.

  • The tide eventually turns in favor of Williams as Anna went to finish off her with Laughing In the Face of War. Ashley countered it and ended up hitting a flip powerbomb instead. Anna’s head bounces off the mat and both women were down. The referee started the 10 count and at 8 Ashley finally gets up. Adrenaline kicks in as she assaults Anna with an impressive display of kicks and strikes. She ddts Anna and goes for the quick cover but Anna kicks out right before the three count!

  • Again the tides shift as Ashley attempts the Erase/Rewind but Anna counters! She delivers a Northern Lights with a bridge and Ashley kicks out at the last possible second which frustrates the champion even more. Anna picks Ashley up and throws her on the outside.

  • Anna screams at Ashley slapping her which wakes Ashley up. They exchange blows where Anna gets the advantage. She tries to whip Ashley into the ring post but Ashley reverses and Anna gets slammed into the post. Anna staggers back and falls on top of the table.

  • Ashley looks at the prone champion lying on the announcers table. She gets a look of evil intent in her face as she climbs to the top turnbuckle. She leaps off and DELIVERS ASH CENSION THROUGH THE TABLE!! Both women are out in the rubble as Ashley hit her head on impact and was out! The referee begins the 10 count and neither women could recover as the match ends in a double countout as Anna retains the Sovereign Title.

MAIN EVENT

The Breakdown

  • Like last year, both the new champion and challenger were leaving it all in the ring hoping to finally shut the other’s mouth up. This match was certainly a back and forth slugfest with both Brien and Alan having grown to each other’s moves. The electric crowd here tonight was going crazy over Alan’s show of athleticism as he easily scaled up the turnbuckles, sending Brien sailing with an impressive top rope German release suplex. However, it wasn’t enough to put away the birthday boy. Brien was doing all he could to make he walked out here tonight making history. As the first ever two-time EIW World Heavyweight Champion.

  • In the middle of the match, it seemed as if Brien would return the favor in putting Alan to sleep with his Koji Clutch. But when you weigh twenty-three pounds more than your challenger, you tend to do things many wished they could. Slamming Brien down with authority, the World Champion collapsed trying to regain his composure complaining under his breath as Brien rolled away from him before he could cover him. Brien was on the apron hoping Alan would join him there soon enough. When Alan had recovered he grabbed his opponent’s head ready to get him back in the squared circle. However, using the top rope as his weapon Brien made his opponent gasp for air wildly as he yanked his head down on it. Positioning The Iconic Wrestler on the middle rope, Brien sped across the ring and hit a beautiful looking 0114(619)! The fans were speechless as Brien quickly went for the cover, hooking both legs as the official arrived to his side to make the count.

  • Not going down that easily, Alan kicked out shocking both the former champ and riled up fans. Brien seemed ready to pull his hair as he paced nervously and angrily in the ring, trying to figure out his next game plan. Thinking a second attempt with his Koji Clutch would seal the deal, Brien cinched in the submission move as tightly as he could. Fans didn’t want to see Alan’s time being World Champion to be cut short, willing him to fight out of the hold as best as they could. Feeling a surge of energy welling up within him, Alan was able to make it to the bottom rope forcing Brien to let go before the count of five. Inhaling and exhaling in vexation, Brien forced Alan up to his feet preparing to hit his Unforecasted Storm (Michinoku Driver). Before he could, Alan wiggled out of his challenger’s grasp and landed behind him. And do you know what happened next? The Paying your Dues (Katihajime) was locked in, the same move that secured his first ever title in EIW.

  • Brien was fading quick as the fans chanted for him to tap out, Alan’s forehead drenched in sweat using every last fiber in his being to put this match away. All of a sudden, the official’s focus was drawn elsewhere as Brien was forced to tap out! COME ON REF FOCUS! While the fans were trying to get the man in stripes his attention on what had just occurred in the ring, the official was preoccupied in getting Danny Hall off the apron. Realizing what was going on after having Brien tap on his wrist repeatedly, the World Champion released his opponent and scurried over to knock Danny off the apron. Ever since Alan had accomplished a major feat on the last episode of the year for Conquest, Danny had been pestering him all over social media. After making the champ miss hitting him from the apron, Danny poked fun at him from ringside pointing to his head as he mentioned to Alan that he was in his head. Right away the fans burst out in jubilation at the sight of Jessa sprinting down the ramp with fire burning in her eyes. Within seconds Danny saw stars floating over him after eating a sinister roaring elbow to the back of the head.

  • Giving his beautiful girlfriend a nod of the head thanking her for the helping hand, Alan returned his focus on his gradually rising opponent. Brien was near his limits feeling a firm hand being clasped on his left wrist. While the official was trying to get Jessa to return to the back, The Captain rolled up the World Champion in a haste feeling his muscles become like jelly. When the roars of jeers echoed throughout the arena, Jessa stopped midway up the ramp quickly turning around as the official immediately dropped onto his stomach to count the fall. Not having a good vision to another one of Brien’s dastardly tricks, the official wasn’t able to see The Captain propping his feet on the middle rope which aided in getting the greatest birthday present he could ever ask for. Becoming the first ever two time EIW World Heavyweight Champion. Jessa rushed into the squared circle but missed her chance to lay hands on the new champion. Helping Danny to his feet, Brien celebrated on the stage proudly hoisting his newly won championship while Alan looked on in bafflement and defeat.
