We've been led to believe that the black and red colorway of Air Jordans 2017 was banned 31 years ago. But was it really? The Air Jordan 1 is a mysterious shoe that originally released in all sorts of colorways, and in order to gather the history and evolution of the brand, we must first look back at its roots.Limited to 19,400 pairs, as noted on the backside of the tongue, this Jordan 1 features a patina-finished premium leather base with boot-style leather laces. The Wings logo appear on the tongue tab, gold-plated heel tab and is visible through a blue-tinted translucent outsole. You'll also notice that the rub-off print from the Air Jordan 12 adorns the insoles and outsole of this pair.Designed by Peter Moore, the Jordan 1 originally released from 1985 to 1986. Quite a few colorways of the model were produced, as well as a few different variations. Following its initial run in the 80s, the Jordan 1 jumpstarted the retro era in 1994, following Jordan's retirement from basketball. The shoe returned again in 2001.
Since then, Cheap Air Jordan Shoes has had a relatively consistent presence in the market, as it's been featured in the 22/1 Collezione ‘Countdown’ Pack. the Doernbecher freestyle series and commemorated Jordan's Hall of Fame induction in 2009. In recent years, the shoe has enjoyed a heightened level of popularity behind the retro of the canvas-based Air Jordan 1 KO, Nike SB collaborations and the highly anticipated return of OG "Nike Air" branding. Jordan Brand has also been packaging the Jordan 1 in a retro box-inspired by the original 1985 design.including the introduction of a Jumpman branded mid-top. It wasn't until 2008 that Jordan Brand started re-releasing the Jordan 1 with its original high cut.At the time, red and black was much more rebellious than plain black and white shoes. That being said, first year NBA commissioner, David Stern "threw them out of the game." Legend has it that MJ continued wearing the pair anyway, while Nike footed the bill. Does this story sound familiar to you?
2017 Jordans For Sale featured a red and black colorway, matching the Chicago Bulls uniform. Perhaps what helped its popularity rise was the then NBA commissioner’s David Stern ban of the shoe. Stern fined Jordan $5,000 every time he wore the shoes because he claimed that the shoe didn’t have enough white to match the Bulls’ uniform. Nike used this attention as a vehicle for promotion and by 1986 the sneakers rose to popularity that demanded a new Jordan sneaker to release. Since then, the line has released a new pair of Jordans about each year, with the latest one, Air Jordan XXX, set to release in 2016. Let's take a look at an interview conducted by legendary late night talk show host, David Letterman. Fast forward to 4:48.According to Frank Cooker, 700 pairs of "Royal" satin Air Jordan 1s are being released today, exclusively in-store at Walter's in Atlanta and Active Athlete in Houston.
