What's in store for the Air Jordans 2017 in 2017? Rumor has it the "Katrina" Air Jordan 3 and "Black Cat" Air Jordan 3 are both releasing later this year. Info about retail launches for these shoes circulated over the weekend.Originally released in 1988, the Air Jordan 3 was the first Air Jordan designed by Tinker Hatfield. They also served as the debut for the now iconic "Jumpman," which would replace the original Air Jordan "Wings" logo going forward. The AJ 3 was also the first model to feature a visible Air unit in the heel along with elephant print detailing. Spike Lee's Mars Blackmon character would make its debut in an advertisement for the sneaker. The original black and cement grey colorway was re-released for the third time as a part of the Air Jordan 20/3 Collezione (Countdown) Pack in 2008. In 2009, Europe got a surprise when the ‘True Blues’ returned exclusively overseas and never made it stateside. One year later, the Air Jordan 3 Retro joined the Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle collection and featured a full translucent outsole for the first time. After Cheap Air Jordan Shoes first retirement, Nike brought back the Air Jordan I, II and III for a short two colorway per model retro run in 1994. The Air Jordan III was the last in the line of the ’94 Retros due to MJ returning to the NBA. In 2001 the Air Jordan 3 Retro would get its first retro run, with three colorways dropping in the span of five months. Two original colorways returned which also led to the beginning of the end of some iconic elements featured on Air Jordan Retros. The OG black/cement colorway was the last to feature original ‘Nike Air’ branding while the ‘True Blue’ colorway was the first OG to feature ‘Jumpman’ branding in its place. That paved the way for the 23rd Anniversary of the Air Jordan III in 2011 which saw Air Jordan 3 Retro releases throughout the entire year.In addition to bringing back its highly anticipated Air Max 1 retro, Japan's Atmos re-worked a similar make-up of the Jordan 3. Seen here for the first time, the shoe features a black upper with teal branding hits. A pair of Kobe Bryant's Lakers-theme 2017 Jordans For Sale Player Exclusives recently landed on the auction site and closed for a staggering $30,400. The shoes were made for Bryant to wear during the 2002-03 season, following his departure from Adidas and prior to his endorsement deal with Nike. Bryant famously auditioned various sneaker brands throughout the year, including a few games in Jordans. The red leather Air Jordan 3 features no shortage of signature branding, with "We The Best" logos on the back tab, footbed, and hang tag, as well as Khaled-favorite hashtags like "#blessed" written on the inside of the back pull tab. The shoe's colorway is inspired by both Khaled's favorite team, the Miami Heat, and Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls. What's particularly interesting here is the $180 price listed. Retro Jordans these days usually retail for a base price of $190, so the info could mean a slight price drop or just a lower-tier release for the Jordan 3. The "SE" designation on each points more toward the latter. |
