Warhost Venator

For 10 millenia the forces of the Dark Mechanicus have lay moored within the eternal warp storms of the Eye of Terror and the Marlstrom. Much like their fellow corrupt Astartes, the Fallen Techpriests and their legions of terrible automata have chose to remain within the security of the warp breaches. It is incredibly rare for these twisted techno magi to leave the space where the warp swirls in tandem with reality. Every so often the Dark Priests will send raiding parties to secure materials and other treasures, but they often use the Chaos Marines for such tasks.

However there are outliers. When Dark Priests clash or feud, often between master and apprentice, the defeated party will leave the Hellforge World of their origin and seek out a means of paying their way back into the good graces of their former home's master. Other times they will seek out the security of a Chaos Warband, providing a much needed service in exchange for safety. Then there is the even rarer case, of the Priest seeking out a planet to transform into their own new Hellforge World.

These incredibly rare instances are known as "Warhosts." It takes a certain kind of Techno Magi to entertain such an evil plot. The Magi must have access to a large army of their own malefic legions of Dark Forged Skitarii and a band of lesser priests and cultists that follow them. A force sizeable enough to not need the aid of the Traitor Legions of Daemons.

One such Warhost, is headed straight for Fortis Castrum. Warhost Venator, is on a direct vector towards the planet, en route from the largest Hellforge of the Maelstrom, Sarum. The Warhost is named after it's Dominus Techmagus, Vibiri Venator. Formerly the Secundus to Elder Magus Jirm Lyrdis of Sarum's Dark Court, she fell out of favor with her master. Rather than stand and fight, she took the entirety of her own army, stole a third of her master's creations, and fled the Maelstrom. She had a juicy piece of info gained from an old friend and fellow student of the Omnissiah. Obliterator Dumah.

Fortis Castrum and it's two hive cities are gigantic Manufactorums, that the planetary government were able to keep out of the hands of the Adeptus Mechanicus for several Millenia. While the Scorcerer Ibrim Kain does his best to turn the planet into a plague world, Vibiri wants to turn the planet into her own Dark Forge. While she will likely work alongside the Scorcerer for a time, eventually the Priestess will stab the Plague Spreader in the back, to see her own plans come to life.

Vibiri Venator

Vibiri Venator, also known as the Witch of Sarum, is one of the few female Dark Technomagi to have attained the rank of Dominus Secundus within Sarum's governing court of Magi. Granted she had to poison, frame, and assassinate many to get as far as she did. Before her eventual exile from Sarum, she had plans to not only usurp her own Master and take his seat on the Court, but also plotted to kill the rest of the court's Chief Magi, and the planet's High Magos and take Sarum for herself.

Like many of her fellow Dark Mechanicus, Vibiri is over 10 thousand years old, having sided with Horus during the Heresy. At the time she had been little more than a mere acolyte of the Omnissiah, and when her coven fled Mars, they retreated to the Maelstrom, rather than follow the remnants of Horus' forces into the Eye of Terror. She had helped cement Sarum into one of the largest and most fearsome Hellforges in the galaxy. Helped repel the remaining World Eaters from the planet's surface, and aided in shackling the Khorn Daemon Prince Bel'ir to the Planetary Core's new Daemon Engine, which allows Sarum to travel the Maelstrom like any common space cruiser.

Upon her Exile, Vibiri took with her a small fleet of ships, and 3 legions of Dark Skitarii in addition to countless daemon engines, biomechanical automata, and various data banks loaded with Chaos Code and Crafted Sentience. Enough weapons, warriors, and tools to slowly mold the planet of Fortis Castrum into her own personal Hellforge.
