History and Advanced Info

Appearance: Jolyne is a shapely Valerian woman, with above average height and clear skin peppered with fine freckles on her face and upper chest. Naturally, her hair is stark black, but out of rebellious impulse, she dyed it a bright green. Depending on her mood, she can let it fly with all its messy glory or tie it up in a proper ponytail. Jo has a sharp, hawk-like gaze, her eyes dark brown. In an unusual genetic deviance, she possesses two types of ears; her left ear is that of humans and the right of an elf’s, long and pointed.

Her typical outfit is a white collared vest top with skin-tight black trousers. Sometimes she’ll also wear a long orange scarf as well as a green sash-like belt that doubles as a makeshift sheath holder for her three blades, which have no names (lots of cunts name their blades).

Personality: First off, Jolyne gives off the impression that she’s this tough, outgoing girl that doesn’t give a fuck about anything. For the most part, that is true. She has little to no regard for anything outside her incredibly small circle of friends and interests. If you’re of no use to her (amusement is a use, though), you can piss right off. Get her to call you a friend and you have an unflinchingly loyal ally at your side, even if she shit-talks you at every turn.

Still a youngster, Jolyne is more energetic than she needs to be and prone to flights of over-emotional mood swings, with a special preference for anger. Literally anything can get her on a raging rave, ready to chew your head off. Thankfully, she mellows easy as a result. She's a very casual kind of girl, having little patience for such nuances as courtesy, tradition or the foresight to look at things in a serious light.

Combat/Magic Skills: Tying her lineage to masters of kenjutsu, Jolyne becomes a prodigy at combat as well, deviating from the family Ittoryu style to develop her own: Santoryu. A bizarre stance requiring the use of three blades (two on each hand and one between her teeth), she becomes a living storm of steel, slicing and dicing anything in her blades’ path.

Like her father, she is a Masenshi. Sort of. Jolyne has bonded since infancy to a spirit. Ne Zha, the Child of Light, a spirit of youth, fertility and innocence. She grew up with this spirit by her side, guiding her and mutually learning about the world a day at a time.

Relationships: She is the daughter of Indra Hanzo and Marissa Westfall, the Witch of Hope

History: Born to a Magna witch and the greatest swordsman this side of the Mississippi, Jolyne Hanzo inherited all of the skills and in turn, all of the expectations. Her childhood was filled with the flavor of fast friends, loving parents and a goddamn Masenshi spirit, bonded to her when she was only months old. She caught up early on that her father wanted her to be the successor to the Dojo, if not officially then at least in skill.

At the time, she was still a brat, so she vowed to do so. To spite him and his adult presumptions on what she wanted in life.

Funny thing is, Jolyne sort of remained a brat. She didn’t want anything to do with the dojo, despite training there everyday and being the daughter of its owner, and prone to rebellious tendencies like vandalism, loitering and delving into the criminal underground. All this done without her parents knowing. Well, her father. Mom knows everything.
