![]() "With every death comes honor. With honor, redemption." General Description Name: Tenmei Aoyama Shinobu no Shiritsu Hyakumantō Ōichi no Shimada, simplified as Shinobu Shimada Age: 28 Gender: Female Race: Valerian Faith: Places devotion in the Valerian deities, with special reverence to her numerous ancestors Height / Weight: 5'10", 58 kg Occupation: Hunter, priestess, family matriarch, badass Residence: The ruins of her family mansion deep in the Woods History and Physical Description Physical Description: A very lovely young woman, Shinobu is a tall and beautiful Valerian, easily among the most attractive of women in Yuli, if she dared say so herself. With exotic red hair, striking blue eyes, ample curves and clear skin like porcelain, how could she not entice the gaze of many. She shows the posture, walk and talk of a confident noblewoman. She normally dresses in a modest black kimono with red floral designs and dons light Valerian myrmidon's armor of relatively identical color, sans helm because she wants the last thing for her enemies to see is her gorgeous visage (refer to image above). Under her layers of clothing is an intricate tattoo on her left shoulder, the most prominent of which is a dragon's design. Sheathed at her hip is her trademark sword, Zanpakutō, or Soul Reaper. Black hilt, black sheath and a bronze blade with black sheen, it Personality: Shinobu is easily described as a woman of temperance, equal in all things and personifying the middle ground or duality of things. Humble, yet prideful. Merciful, yet relentless in battle. Silent, yet outspoken. Above all, however, she is a child at heart, playful and positive. She has a high sense of pride in herself and her family and despite most of her family lying dead, she retains much of a noble's characteristics. Love of the good life, exclusive tastes, inability to understand the idea of poverty, etcetera. Her shining quality is the ability to read the situation at hand and adjust her temperament to the flow of emotions. Combined with her reluctance to show much outward personality, it can be quite a challenge getting to know Shinobu without seeing her as a completely duplicitous brat of a woman. Martial Abilities: A highly skilled practitioner of Kenjutsu, Shinobu is said to be the last person (or at least the last woman) alive who utilizes the Ryū Geki Ken, or Dragon Fencing. She is also good with a bow, using it to hunt game around the city. Relationships: Born and raised in Yuli, surely there remains some familiar faces. She gets along with the old coots at the Warlock Temple, for one. History: Shinobu was born into nobility, so you know her story is off for a bad turn. The daughter of the matriarch, the young heiress enjoyed the finer things in life. Good food, shelter, the best education money could buy and consorts as far as the eye can see, she grew enamored with this lazy life and saw little interest in taking over her mother's position once she would bite the dust. Oh, but the elders weren't having none of that. In a devious ploy, they dumped Shinobu in a crime-infested region of New Valeria, so she could appreciate the life that was so graciously given to her. The heiress adapted surprisingly fast, taking work with the local militia and assisting in destabilizing bandit control in the region. Her mother, however, searched everywhere for her and blamed the nearest person, coincidentally the elders. They weren't having none of that, either. After much bickering and argument, a full-blown civil war ensued between the two splintered factions, led by the vengeful matriarch and the deceitful elders, resulting in the almost annihilation of the Shimada family. When Shinobu returned ten years later, a better woman, there was barely anything left of her home, just a few survivors of the conflict (mostly cousins and most of the servants) and broken buildings. But rather than mope, she was determined to make something new of the Shimada name. Shinobu has now assumed the mantle of Matriarch and all it took was a crooked plan and inter-familial warfare. |
