Are you religious person? If so, what religion and why? If not, why?

Also, what do you think of religions in general? Should there be a separation of church and state?

I'm an agnostic and always really have been. I also don't believe religion should influence how the country is run.

Separation of church and state is vital for the nation to give people freedom of religion.

ironic chair of the federal reserve
im gonna get shot for this but
i consider myself a cultural christian

think like jimmy carter but i don't actually believe in a god
i think there's a place for morality (PROPER MORALITY, not "muh abortion is baby killing") and family values (not simply traditional ones, but the idea that keeping families together is important)
but i also am sceptical of the existence of a deity and the fact that i should dedicate myself to said deity

I agree that religion can promote nice values in people, and their families. People who bash religion sometimes forget that, but I think that's because religion can also promote homophobia, anti choice, etc.

On a slightly unrelated digression: I was always interested in the concept of religion preventing people from committing serious crimes due to the fear of going straight to hell for it.

I'm agnostic, but open-minded to believe that there is a higher power controlling us even in a slight form. Not necessarily the God from the bible or any other mythology, but maybe just some sort of a deity or omnipotent being who might do something to us while we think it's all shit luck or funny coincidence.

Other than that, it's really important to me that people keep their religion mostly to themselves. I don't like the people who push it on their children or down others' throats, but I do respect those who respect other people's view on different beliefs.

I definitely agree that people should keep their religion to themselves, unless for whatever reason it's necessary or worthwhile for them to talk about it.
