we have no IRC channel as of yet...possible addition in the future, but right now, I'm not on IRC all that often and no-one has made the suggestion that we should get one. Basically, I communicate with everyone else via forums and PMs, with IRC being a last resort.

Cool. I check my city half a dozen times per day, so any thing requiring immediate attention you can PM me in-game.

How are trades going with Euphoria? Would you be interested in a trade agreement?

Also, who are your ministers?

well we have a free trade policy, so everyone's free to trade with everyone. Also, we have no ministers at this point in time, since I'm able to take care of everything that would be required from these positions. I'm still working on getting to know everyone that has high morals and plays this game a bit more seriously than most as well, which is another reason we won't have a foreign affairs minister for a while.

I've been taking, what I think, is a unique approach to politics in these types of games. It might be a failing approach, however, it hasn't been fully tested as of yet. Public politics causes more shit that anything. (It's what caused the destruction of the civilized world way back in 2016...so following the storyline of the game, I've been avoiding politics as much as possible...especially publicly) My thought was that by running exclusively in the "private channels", and eliminating the public aspect would be the most successful way of running a country. In theory this is probably the best way to avoid conflict, however, there's another aspect of this game that make things more difficult for me, from a private standpoint.

Treaties are almost worthless, in my opinion; They are thrown around without thought, and as a result, they've been devalued to the point of being garbage. I haven't said anything publicly, but personally, I feel that treaties don't do anything but increase/agitate the political climate, in most cases. Some have said that if your friends came to back you up in a war, that if they didn't have a treaty with you, they wouldn't be playing the game "properly"...WTF is that? Take the infra raiding countries for example...It's perfectly fine in the community to raid small countries and unaligned cities, whether they're active or not. If your country has anything to say about it, then you're accused of being the "world police", and get trolled for eternity. I think this is a BS standard, but publicly, I'm not going to say anything. On the other hand, if you're being infra raided, unless you have a treaty with someone, no one is supposed to be able to come to your defense? More BS which I'm not going to get into an argument over, until it has to be said.

I've been doing everything I can, privately, to prevent the need for a treaty between Euphoria and other countries, but if I have to introduce Victor Lima to the world political scene, there's going to be a LOT of arguing going on regarding my own views on what goes on here on Planet Steve. My views are negative for the most part, and I don't condone much of what goes on publicly there...I just hate the egotism and chest-beating, so, basically, I'm not going to get along with more than a few people. This is what I'm avoiding by staying away from the political topics in the CE forums, and anything even remotely publicly political in the game.

Well put.

We have a similar outlook on things. Fairly new when it comes to Planet Steve's politics but not to politics herself. And like you said, there are things going on here that do not coincide with my personal values as well. Values and opinions which I have to put aside for the time being while in service to my country.

As it stands, The Foreign Division has no political agenda and its' entire existence owes much to the our leaders from Planet Bob who feel that there is a need to have a presence here. Water might revert back to safe drinking levels, leaves might finally grow and the population count rises. By which time TFD would have already matured and ready to extend the same services here as it does in CN.

Who knows these things.

I sincerely hope our two nations remain good friends.

We've had a little excitement lately...uncooperative rogue, Gibberdylot, will probably see a counter-attack from at least one city here in Euphoria. I use a 3-strike rule with rogues...strike one is the unprovoked attack; this never changes. From here, you can earn strikes in any number of ways: ignoring messages, being disrespectful or argumentative, immaturity, just to name a few. I've sent 2 messages, the last one containing a deadline for a reply, and have yet to receive word back from him...there's strike two and three. A city from Euphoria was his first target, but after that, he started a one man war vs LS and TSB, so he's pretty much screwed right now anyway...I doubt he'll be covering the damage he caused here.

wow, didn't expect you'd get such a thing so early. Anyways goodluck with resolving the issue, hope things turn out well for you.

on our side, The Foreign Division will be holding it's bi-annual elections. The country is governed by a leader together with 4 other senators who votes on proposals and things. All 5 positions are up for grabs. I will update this thread on the results and any announcements the new leader might want to make. All on-going treaty discussions, agreements and whatever will be put on hold until the next government members take to their office.

On a semi-serious note, TFD got attacked by Teegeack. We're currently using him as practise.

Also, TFD elections are over. Counting votes now.

Freaky as it seems, that is EXACTLY how I pictured you to look like. erm yes I do visualise how people in the forums look like.

Anyways after 1 chem WMD followed by 19 ground attacks within 2 hours of each other, Teegeack's army has finally been dismantled. Planet Steve is back to normal again.
