He is often around allies he believes to be trustworthy when he is not alone when working. He often tells jokes to make a situation feel more light-hearted or as a potential distraction from the big picture to give him more time to plot his way out of a situation he rushed into without enough planning. He values loyalty and honesty, and takes a disliking to people if they appear to be manipulative. The ninja despises pirates with a burning passion that makes it difficult for them to get along with him. Despite his traits, he has no issues with stealing from people if he believes they do not need what he takes, and he often distributes it to the less fortunate. History: Born near a harbor but just outside of town, Tomihiko was raised by Riku and Kyoko Saitoh. For a few years, he was an only child. He wasn't raised in a normal way, as his father, Riku, was a retired warrior. He raised Tomihiko to be a warrior, but not strictly enough to the point of causing the boy to close up to the world. His father wanted him to live a happy, normal life while still knowing how to fight if need be. For an equal balance, Riku made sure to allow Tomihiko to play often as a child while still practicing. At the age of five, Tomihiko learned of a grand discovery: his mother was pregnant. He was just barely mature enough to fully grasp what it meant for another sibling to be coming, the future Tomihiko was ecstatic when he met his new little sister, who her parents lovely named Sayaka. At every chance he got, Tomihiko enjoyed playing with his baby sister, glad to have a friend like her at home despite the age difference. At many occasions, Tomihiko was allowed out of the house. With this time, he took many trips to town. There were many other children who lived in the town who he enjoyed playing with. Sometimes, he even sneaked himself into a school for mages whose parents believed them to be prodigies. Originally, he only wished to scare them, but one of the mages caught his eye. The mage was very reclusive and kept to himself, but he always appeared to notice Tomihiko's presence. Eventually, the trickster decided to speak with him when they were inside the courtyard. For a while, he found the dark mage didn't appear to be too interested in speaking with Tomihiko, but he eventually opened up to him. The mage thoughtfully listened to the many adventures and sites Tomihiko described to him with a smile, before eventually revealing his name: Oskar Dewey. Due to the strictness of the school and the multiple times Tomihiko was kicked out, he promised Oskar that he would meet him at his house on occasion to chat, and the thief kept his word. Throughout his life, his father, Riku, insisted on training him in self defense. In particular, he trained Tomihiko in martial arts and in the use of a few hidden weapons. Before he was able to learn them, he first had to promise his father that he would never use them out of pure lust for murder. Never dreaming that he could get to a point like that, the son promised he would never come to that. In fact, Tomihiko wished to grow up as an honest thief, a goal which he enthusiastically described to his father. Riku was wary of him wishing to be a thief, but decided to help him along as long as his son wished it to be a generous and honest job instead of doing it simply for self-gain and pleasure. For many years, Tomihiko was trained by his father. He quickly grasped how to use hidden weapons and good moves in hand-to-hand combat. Eventually, he was taught how to blend into his surroundings. Throughout his training, his father soon realized that his son, Tomihiko, lacked discipline. Despite multiple efforts, Tomihiko would not fully think through certain situations without guidance in planning. He appeared to be better at executing a plan given to him by others rather than forming a plan and sticking to it. At the age of eleven, disaster struck to the Saitoh Family. It started on a day that appeared as if it would be like any other day. Tomihiko woke up in his bed on the Sunday morning, before he was eventually requested by his mother, Kyoko, to go out of the house to purchase food items for the family. As always, the boy accepted. He remembered vividly how he left his home that day, arriving to a market inside the local town due to the harbor's markets not having everything the family wished for. Little did he know that it would save himself from a disastrous fate. Hours passed by as Tomihiko decided to speak with some of children he had grown up to know over the years. He didn't stop by Oskar's house yet, insisting to himself he would later that night so he could finish his shopping chore quicker. After a while, he bought all the food items his family requested, and he made the long journey back to his home; however, he eventually saw smoke rising from the port he called his home. Fearing the worse, the boy quickened his pace. His worst fears came to life that hour. Upon his return home, he saw nothing that remained of his house. In the distance from the scorched ashes of his home, he saw a distant ship sailing away, filled with cheery men and women acting like barbarians from what Tomihiko could hear. There was only a flag that he could clearly see, but it became clear to him who they were from that alone: pirates. He frantically searched the ashes of his home for some sign that his family was alive; however, his search grinded to a halt as he found good enough evidence for him to be convinced he would not find his family alive: his deceased mother. With nothing left for him at the remains of the burned port, Tomihiko fled the scene, crying as he remained helpless to do anything. The tears flew off his cheeks as he ran through the town, not responding to the few concerned gasps he could barely hear. He had no idea where he was running to, nor did he care at the time. After a while of running, the boy finally stopped, looking up at where he arrived: it was Oskar Dewey's house. From that point forward, Tomihiko began to visit Oskar nearly daily, but he tried his best not to reveal why he suddenly took an interest in his mage friend. Meanwhile, Tomihiko tried his best to survive on his own, making money by offering various services to the town so he could pay for food. He dared not to steal for himself, just as he told his father he would not. Two years went by when eventually, life changed drastically. He learned that Oskar had been evicted from his parents house. Tomihiko insisted to him that he would follow him where he went, and at that point the mage finally asked him why. With a little hesitation, Tomihiko revealed to Oskar the devastation that occurred to him: the pirates, his mother's corpse, and the burnt harbor. The dark mage took in this information, feeling a small amount of pity for one of the few people he dared to call a friend, and accepted his offer to join him with no more questions asked. From that day forward, Oskar and Tomihiko traveled the world together as mercenaries for hire, with Tomihiko training to improve his skills and Oskar studying the art of magic. Their small mercenary band grew bigger as three more men joined them over the years. From that moment onward, Tomihiko felt his life would finally improve once again. Asset:
