Name: Hecate "Dafne" Ursa Age: 17 Race: Beorc Class: Sniper Very skilled with her shortbow, Dafne can hit almost any mark through her training and discipline. Is should also be noted that she is also skilled with knives, but due to her own insecurities she refuses to use them unless she feels in over her head. Signature Weapon She uses a much smaller, compound bow, a gift from her father, one that is easy to move around with. She also inherited a pair of daggers from her father, but they stay on her person as much as possible. To make her line of work easier, she employs a decidedly nonlethal brand of poison that makes the target drowsy when struck by her arrows. The poison also makes a person temporarily paralyzed if ingested. It's called Crowngrass poison, an uncommon, but not rare plant. Relationship Status Hecate has a very strained past with her father, but she loves her mother enough to pay visits when her father isn't home. She's recently headed out on her own, and has been wandering around. If she were to have someone, they would have to be able to handle the danger her job entails. She's single due to her own introverted nature. Significant Friends/Family She's the only child of her family, her father being one of the most premiere assassins in the entire continent. Due to this, friends were extremely rare, and none really lasted with her. Personality Hecate is, above all else, dedicated to serving her self interest. While she has a powerful internal code, on the exterior she seems very cold and logical, hiding under the mask of professionalism. If things go wrong, her facade melts away to reveal an insecure girl who's only doing what she's been taught to do best; sulk in the shadows, and not get caught. She hardly reveal information about herself unless under extreme duress, or if she's lost control of herself. It's not to say that Hecate has no happiness. Like her father, she loves a job well done and seeing results for her efforts. She also loves the positive aspects of the world, and would gladly try and be a force for good if her shadowy past wouldn't get in the way every time she tried. She tries her best to lead a fulfilling life, albeit one that goes unnoticed due to her own skill of hiding. She's trying her best to build up her image of a very effective information trader. Hecate has a free spirit at heart, and likes being able to go about, unnoticed and therefore unopposed. She has fallen in love with the open air, and this is especially so after she left her parent's house. No wonder law breaking doesn't faze her at all. Hecate has a need to impress her employers, but this almost never comes through since most of her work is in the dark. She doesn't know it, but she misses the praise her father had for her when she excelled, and she performs for her employers with her skills, in a sense. Also, she hiccups when she's very surprised or upset. However, the smallest quirks only barely hint at the darkness her own personality entails. Hecate, the assassin and infiltrator knows no boundaries to what is acceptable and what is immoral. A razor sharp mind that tells her only ways to overcome obstacles is the central command of her every move as a professional, one that has been numbed to the concept of pain through her own knowledge of the human body. Dafne might be a clever girl, but Hecate herself can be soulless at times when she needs to be. She has no qualms with torturing for information, though often she hardly takes the time to develop her art. In particular, she is a master of inflicting physical pain. Knowing key points of the body lets her know exactly where a knife will turn from a dull cut to a searing fire in the form of a blade. Without delving too much, Hecate knows how to make a man regret living, but keep him alive due to her own perception of her humanity. History Hecate's father was Pazuzu, a master assassin who was drunk on the passion of holding other lives in his hands before unmercifully ending them. Her mother, a woman who fell in love with his brutal honesty, and soon, Hecate was born. Even from when she was small, she remembered her father being gone on multiple occasions, but when he was home, the man was as doting as any father could be. Growing up in a small house away from civilization, Hecate took after her mother the most, she being the role model of her childhood, and her confidant when she had troubles. When she was 8, her father came home, and took a great interest in her. Thus her training began. To her father, she needed to be able to take care of herself, and avoiding detection and learning the discipline of focus would provide her with the tools to do so. First, she learned how to move silently, use the cover of darkness, and be fleet of foot. As she grew older, Hecate only wanted to please her much absent father, and so she took her training head on and started to surpass even her master's standards with flying colors. For a time, everything was perfect, and Hecate enjoyed herself. Then she learned how to kill others. At first, it was merely another thing to master, but as it wore on, Hecate began to see the darker side of her father, and realized that he was indeed a master assassin, and with the skill set that she was training, she would become one as well. At her father's request, she learned to be a deadeye and was adept at using a dagger. She learned how to apothecary her own poisons, and studied anatomy to maximize efficiency when attacking others. She was strong, fast, and wholly capable of taking another life. Except that was the opposite of what she wanted. She grew more cold towards her father, and he noticed it. He said that all he wanted for her was that she could make the hard choice when the time came. Distraught, she ran away from home while her father was out on a job, taking her bow and daggers, with only a whispered farewell to her mother. She wanted to prove that she could make the hard choice, but not kill anyone along the way. Determined to not become like her father, she entered the world of shadows as a skilled information dealer named Dafne. Pay her to investigate something, and she would be thorough and fast, avoiding detection like any professional would, despite her young age. Greatest Flaw Hecate fears becoming like her father more than anything else. Where he is a professional killer, she spares life however much she can. In a way, this has linked her perceived humanity to how many people she has killed (thankfully none, thus far) and will doubtlessly slip farther into the darkness if she has to willfully kill someone. Greatest Asset Hecate has been trained to think differently. Where others see obstacles, she sees ways around obstacles. She's convicted and ruthless, much like her father is, but there are lines that she won't cross. She has a good heart, all in all, even if her methods may not show it. Favorite Food: Chocolate cake so rich, one bite is enough sweet to last for a year. |
