"Be proud, for in this wasteland of ash and fire, we have endured stronger and wealthier than all others." -Iron King Gunnarr

A land of extreme pride and burning emotions the lands of fire stretch across the fertile ash wastes, and the mountain ranges that house their cities. The air is easier to breathe under ground and the dwarves have long since engineered geothermal generators that harvest the energy of the volcanoes and uses it to power ingeniously engineered air filters, making the air underground surprisingly fresh and easy to breathe. Outside on the surface special equipment is required to avoid the choking effect of the high content of volcanic gases, ash, and carbon dioxide. The people of the kingdoms are fiercely loyal and proud of their lineages often times being able to boast deeds in wars stretching back hundreds of generations.

Culture:

The culture is very based around loyalty to their king and their keep. Martial prowess and skill at forging arms are highly prized as these things are considered tools of preservation. It is a very warrior like culture, known for their love of hard work and many times hard drinks. Primarily their food consists of various kinds of mushrooms, cave dwelling super-vermin, and the ashfruit that grows in the ground in the ash wastes that are cultivated by the ash farmers.

Settlements:
Primarily they live in their mountain keeps, however certain enterprising individuals live in the ash wastes themselves. Known as ash farmers they cultivate the land, growing ashfruit that helps to sustain the nearby keeps. in times of war it is considered dishonorable and a crime to attack ash farmers.

The Red Veil:
deep in the largest volcano "Vulcan" there is a veil of swirling magma. deep inside that is the temple of Fire, where the crystal of fire resides. in times past one stubborn enough could take the treacherous pathways through, but with current events the magma storms have been acting up, making travel impossible.
