Weapon Attributes Weapons are a big part of the Fullmetal Alchemist universe, being used by humans mostly as a tool for combat, ranging from knives to guns. They allow more damage to be dealt even without any training, or give an advantage over an opponent without a weapon. On this site, as we are a mostly freeform combat system, weapons will give a similarly freeform advantage. Those with weapons won't be too disadvantaged against those without, as there are some who might go for the no-weapon approach to fighting like brawlers or martial artists. What Weapons Do: Open up attributes like elemental infusion (for Alchemists) Allow those who specialize in weapons to use those attributes (for Soldiers) Allow a player to create techniques specifically made for that weapon There are a few types of weapons. Mundane weapons are things like knives, swords, and spears, which are easily made and usually used in close quarters or as a last resort. Firearms are, obviously, guns. These are usually used by those without a specialty in a mundane weapon or hand to hand combat, as they're as simple as point and shoot, though accuracy may vary. Finally, there are Customized weapons, which are weapons that are unique, such as a sword that can be split into two swords, a chainsaw attached to your automail, or a flamethrower. Customized weapons are the most expensive and require some expertise to use effectively. Edited by Edward Elric, Nov 1 2017, 04:10 PM.

Armor Attributes Armor is a rarely seen attribute in the Fullmetal Alchemist world, as design and looking cool is normally prioritized. Therefore, there are no full plate armors or external armor available in this universe, as it is mostly seen as clunky and impractical. The armors on this site are those that can be worn underneath clothing, such as bulletproof vests. The way armor works is that it improves your Endurance stat by one rank...but hold on. It doesn't give you a flat increase to your durability. It only protects the areas that it is worn. Again, using bulletproof vests as an example, they would protect your chest area from impact, giving that area of your body a durability increase. Other armors will have descriptions of which areas they cover. Using armor, your character can fight with less risk of serious injury from things like bullets, which would normally be an instant kill if it hit a vital area. Automail Attributes Automail is a massive part of the Fullmetal Alchemist universe, and is therefore a large part of our site as well! Whether you love it or hate it, automail is extremely useful for those who either are disabled or for soldiers looking to become stronger. There are, however, quite a few limitations to automail that prevent it from being abused in universe. First off, though, let's begin with the benefits that automail gives! Benefits When wielding automail, the bodypart (arms or legs) that it is being used in gains a 1 rank bonus depending on the type of automail it is. Similar to Armor, only the Automail parts gains these benefits. Any other part of your body will have the same stats you normally have. It is possible to attach weapons to your automail that are stronger than your average weapons. A large sword or chainsaw, for example, or even a massive gun. Downsides Automail is extremely expensive. Not only that, but if you aren't already missing a limb, you will have to pay to surgically remove one in order to attach your purchased automail. Despite metal being more durable than human flesh, there are downsides to having a hunk of metal hanging off of your body. The first, obviously, being heaviness and discomfort. Regular automail is also not resistant to cold or heat, making it a hindrance in hot or cold climates. Edited by Sami Laine, Nov 1 2017, 06:35 PM.
