Combat Stats

Stats? But I thought this was a freeform site!

That it is. The stat guidelines here are simply another way to streamline what people can do and how well they can do it. Not only that, but it allows for us to quantify the RP capabilities of players as well as allowing some items or equipment to visibly affect the players. Now, for a few notes about the following "stats":

Rank 1 = What most human NPCs will have.
Rank 2 = Average human level, about that of someone who works out consistently.
To get from Rank 1 to Rank 2, 1,000 EXP is required
Rank 3 = Bodybuilder level, though you don't have to look the part necessarily
To get from Rank 2 to Rank 3, 5,000 EXP is required
Rank 4 = Peak human condition
To get from Rank 3 to Rank 4, 10,000 EXP is required
Rank 5 = Enhanced condition
To get from Rank 4 to Rank 5, 20,000 EXP is required
BREAK = You don't have to have max Rank in a stat in order to get this level. Almost every class gets one BREAK stat, which is essentially gives you a uniqueness compared to those without the same stat. To gain a BREAK stat, you must have at least Rank 3 in the stat and spend 15,000 EXP.

Might
Description: Might determines a character's physical strength, such as how hard they can hit things, how much lift they can weight, or even perhaps how SWOL they are.
Rank 1 - At this level, your overall physical strength is a little less than average, so you won't be going into hand-to-hand combat anytime soon, but you're not weak either.
Rank 2 - The average level of strength, where a fistfight would actually result in some blood at worst.
Rank 3 - Your body has some good muscle built onto it at this point, and you're able to carry things much heavier than yourself with a little strain.
Rank 4 - This is the peak of human potential, where you can practically bench press boulders and shatter them with your fists! (Though it'll still hurt)
Rank 5 - The enhanced level of strength that is unobtainable by humankind. This is a level where you are as strong as about ten average men!
BREAK - Your strength is more focused than others, giving you the ability to focus it in a way that allows it to seem as though you're stronger than you truly are, comparable to how a martial artist fights. At some levels, you can even break steel by focusing on its weak point.

Endurance
Description: Endurance determines a few things, like a character's stamina and durability as well as what can push them back, but don't confuse this with determination, which allows you to keep fighting despite being hurt.
Rank 1 - Your sensation of pain is a little higher than the average human's. You won't be able to take too many hits or last too long while running.
Rank 2 - The average human levels of endurance allow you to take some hits without immediately cringing from the pain and you can run for long periods of time.
Rank 3 - At this level of endurance, you're able to last almost Olympic levels of running, and fighting at your best won't tire you out as quickly as before.
Rank 4 - Endurance at its peak. Your skin could be compared to (or literally be) iron at this point, as you won't flinch from weak blows. Bullets and blades will still harm you, but as long as you aren't hit in a vulnerable area, you can still continue for a good while.
Rank 5 - The level beyond human durability, this level of endurance can allow you to literally tank things like...well, tank shells. There is seemingly no end to your stamina, and it will take a lot just to bring you down.
BREAK - You probably can't even feel much pain anymore with how much you've endured. By tightening your body, you may be able to reduce the damage from blunt trauma even further.

Agility
Description: Agility determines a character's reaction time, their speed (in combat, not travel speed), and their attack speed. Having a lot of speed doesn't make you able to dodge anything or make your attacks undodgable, however.
Rank 1 - At a little bit below average level, you won't be able to react to anything too fast for your brain to recognize, and your punches will barely blur when you attack.
Rank 2 - At the average level, you can react to speedy attacks at an instinctive level, but your body isn't always capable of keeping up with your reactions. Your attacks are slow comparative to those with higher reflexes.
Rank 3 - With this level of speed, you begin to be able to dodge attacks without relying on your instincts, and you can almost recognize an incoming threat that's faster than the eye can track as well as use attacks that are at that level.
Rank 4 - Your body and reflexes are at their peak, and attacks faster than the eye can track are normal for you.
Rank 5 - The enhanced level of speed allows your entire body to move faster than the average eye can track, turning you into a blur or even making you seemingly disappear to an untrained eye!
BREAK - Your speed and reflexes are so under your control that moving at high speeds becomes natural to you. Again, this does not make you untouchable, but you can do things like leave afterimages behind you with your mastery of speed. You also do not lose control of your speed, and are able to make more precise motions.

Intelligence
Description: Intelligence stat-wise is mostly akin to technology and book smarts. This stat has no affect on combat experience or practical knowledge.
Rank 1 - Your level of tech knowledge is limited to what you've been told by others, and you, at the very least, know basic arithmetic and writing.
Rank 2 - At the average intelligence level you know how to maintain most tech like automail, and you can do complex math problems, as well as learn the basics of a second language.
Rank 3 - A little bit above average human intelligence, you can begin confusing those at a lower level with your knowledge of books. This is the level required in order to begin studying Alchemy and Mechanics.
Rank 4 - This is the peak of human intelligence, at least outside of the theoretical. At this level you can become a master of your craft, whether it be with technology or with alchemy, and even teach!
Rank 5 - This is a level only alchemists can attain, where things like human transmutation and the Truth begin to be theorized. A dangerous trek it is to attain this level of knowledge.
BREAK - You quite literally make breakthroughs and leaps in technology or science, and you can instantly analyze most machinery by just looking at it. This is a level that prodigies, those who can quite easily understand and apply knowledge, will take once they learn to utilize their gift.

Alchemy
Description: This is a tree that's only attainable by Alchemists, giving you access to crafting and an Alchemic Proficiency of your choosing.
Rank 1 - The beginner level of alchemy, where creating small statues is impressive to you. Attempting anything offensive in alchemy, however, will result in you getting a faceful of boom.
Rank 2 - At this level, you are familiar with the larger world of alchemy, but are barely scratching the surface. Most offensive alchemy attacks will be weak, but still stronger than an average signature attack.
Rank 3 - This is a level where you understand the fundamentals of alchemy, and can understand how others' alchemy proficiencies work. Your alchemy attacks are notably stronger than an average signature attack even at basic levels. At this level, you can begin crafting items for selling.
Rank 4 - When you've reached this level, you realize that One is All, and All is One. Your alchemy has become more potent, and there is very little chance of backfire unless it is something new to you. At this level, you gain an Alchemic Proficiency, and are able to teach Civilians how to use Alchemy.
Rank 5 - You're practically a master of alchemy, and have probably begun researching foreign or forbidden alchemy. Any transmutation you perform will be all but flawless, with power to match. With this level, you gain a second Alchemic Proficiency
BREAK - As only two classes can attain this tree, it has no BREAK stat.

XP & Cenz System:

To add a sort of progression feel to the site, we've decided to add XP that can be attained by experiencing combat in battle threads. In addition to this, there is a currency system that allows you to gain wealth via work threads. XP gives you access to more signature techniques and upgrading your combat stats, while Cenz is used to buy armor, weapons, and automail, as well as basic things like trains and phone calls.

You gain both XP and Cenz by, of course, doing roleplays. There are three types of roleplays: Social Threads, Battle Threads, and Work Threads.

Social Threads are simple. They're any thread that isn't a Battle or Work thread, where characters can socialize and relax or get information from each other. In order to travel, make a call to someone not in your area, or even trade/sell items, you must make a Social for it. This is to make things more authentic. Also, a Social thread can most certainly become a Work or Battle thread if the occasion arises without consequence.

Battle Threads are where your combat writing skills are put to the test. These are the only threads where you are allowed to gain XP. There are two types of Battles: PvP and Random Encounters. PvP threads don't get any Cenz, but Random Encounters get a bonus based on the type of NPC it was.

XP Gain: You gain experience based on the level of writing you had during the fight, determined by the admins. Two admins rate your work based on how well you fought and played off of your opponent's writing, not by who won or who took the least amount of damage. Story comes first on here.

For every point you get (8 for an 8/10 fight, for example), you gain 100 XP. In addition, when fighting an NPC, the bonus Cenz and XP they give can be increased or decreased depending on the type of writing you did.

x0.5 for a bad, Mary Sue-ish fight.
x1.0 for an average fight.
x1.5 for a good fight where there was some actual risk involved.
x2.0 where you made the fight entertaining via writing style or character interactions.

Work Threads involve either a mundane job or something more exciting, it's all up to you. Make sure that your Work thread has something to do with your class. At the end of the thread, you will get a rating of up to 10, which will decide how much money you gain. If you are crafting items to sell, this is where you would do so as well.

For every point you get, you gain 1,000 Cenz.

In addition to the rating, you will be given a short review that can give pointers on how to improve your writing. We all want you to improve, after all!
