I see that even Ignition isn't legal in all 50 states, but why is it okay at all for US players to play there and not on Stars, etc.? Colour me confused. |

I plan on using bitcoin on America's Cardroom within a few months when I feel ready to start playing again after a long long long layoff. |

The UIGEA makes it illegal for businesses to collect payments (using banking maybe?) for the sake of gambling. However, actually playing poker is only illegal in states that make it explicit, such as Washington and those that have their own regulated casinos (NV and NJ). It's up for interpretation if that includes cryptocurrency, as my reading says that should be fine. Either way, me, myself playing online at those sites isn't illegal since I'm not in those states, it's illegal for the site to have me load money and play. So FTP and Stars (both same company) who were raided on Black Friday probably don't even want to mess with the legal question, having been burned before. Whereas Ignition is more inclined to invest in a legal defense if it ever came to it. As a US player, when I start playing and hopefully go on a 12 figure rush, I'm not nervous for any kind of legal trouble for myself. The only concern would be the site itself getting raided and Uncle Sam taking my trillions of winnings. Edited by Dimmy, Jul 20 2017, 01:57 AM.
