Two-time vice-champion of the world among juniors Russian figure skater Serafima Sahanovich went to train to double Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko , a source familiar with the situation told R-Sport agency.
Plushenko in the spring of this year announced that he is finishing his sports career and is moving to coaching. The first eminent pupil of Plushenko became the Olympic champion of 2014 Adeline Sotnikova, who moved to train him in April from Elena Buyanova. Sakhanovich from October 2015 trained in the group Evgeny Rukavitsyn.
"Serafima Sakhanovich moved to Evgeni Plushenko's group and moved to Moscow," the source said.
Sakhanovich, who turns 18 in February, is the coach of the coach from St. Petersburg Alina Pisarenko, who led her to the silver medal of the 2014 Junior World Championships. In the season-2014/15 the figure skater trained in the group Eteri Tutberidze and for the second consecutive year she became the silver medalist of the world championship among juniors.

Two-time world and European champion Russian Evgeni Medvedev took first place in figure skating competitions at Japan Open tournament in Saitama (Japan).
Russian woman, who played for the European team, scored 152.08 points on the results of an arbitrary program on Saturday. The second was the Japanese Mai Mihara (147.83), the third - the Russian Alina Zagitova (145.28) from the team of Europe. The fourth place was taken by American Mirai Nagasu (134.69), the fifth - Japanese Marin Honda (133.41), the sixth - American Karen Chen (116.32).
Alexei Gorshkov said that he agreed to train the figure skaters Ilyin and Shibnev >>>
In men, the best was the two-time world champion Spaniard Javier Fernandez - 189.47. The second result was shown by the American Nathan Chen (178.46), the third by the Japanese Soma Uno (175.45), the fourth by the Nobunari Oda (158.24), the fifth by the American Jeremy Abbott (143.48), the sixth by the Israeli Alexei Bychenko (128.52).
In the overall standings the European team won 615.35. The Japanese took the second place - 614.93, the third - the Americans - 572.95.

The editor-in-chief of the R-Sport agency Andrei Simonenko, having seen the new free program of the two-time world champion Evgeniya Medvedeva to the music from the film "Anna Karenina," discusses in the blog about figure skating "Hooks and Buckets" about the possible causes and consequences of changing the composition during the Olympic season.

The Saturday morning was no longer languid after Yevgeny Medvedev spoke at a traditional commercial tournament in Japan , where skaters perform only arbitrary programs. "Do you know that Zhenya went to Anna Karenina, and with the last year's arrangement of jumps?" - wrote to me a familiar fan before the competitions were shown on television.
In fact, it could be a one-time action - after all, Japan Open is a tournament rather indicative. And "Anna Karenina" two-time world champion just did the summer in the Japanese show. But soon the information was confirmed - Medvedev really decided to abandon the arbitrary composition of Ilya Averbukh's authorship . "Anna Karenina", which Daniel Gleyhenhaus put, has been reworked into a competitive program, and it is with her that the two-time world champion will continue to perform this season.

Posted Image

To be honest, this is, of course, a surprise. Firstly, there is a season, the culmination of which will be the Olympic Games. Any stress, which, of course, is a change of program, is undesirable - simply because it breaks the habitual mode of preparation. Secondly - and this is also a weighty circumstance - it was with the programs of Averbukh Medvedev that he triumphed triumphantly over the top of the world of figure skating during the last two seasons. In order for Eugenia and her trainer Eteri Tutberidze to give up the work of such authoritative as Averbukh, the author, there must have been very serious reasons.
What can definitely be said - Averbukh's program was not unsuccessful. With her, Medvedev spoke at the control leases of the Russian national team in Sochi and the Ondreya Nepela memorial in Bratislava. Both times received a lot of positive reviews in the press - including enthusiastic words that the wind does not rush.

But at the same time, I must admit, there were some questions. In particular, the "cheeseiness" of the program was evident. The idea of the power of faith, which was supposed to be imbued with the entire composition, was read in the initial and final parts. In the rest, the choreography seemed too intricate. The difficulties were added to the skater by the fact that the arrangement of elements in Averbukh's program was new for her. All jumps and cascades, except the axel in two and a half turns, were moved to the second half in order to receive bonuses in points.

And all this gave Medvedev a visual discomfort. In Sochi, after allowing a few blots, she commented gloomily at the random rolling with the words "nothing happened". In Bratislava, the blot was alone, but still Eugene, describing the performance at the tournament, used a sharp word. I promised not to write - and I do not write, but I can not deny that it was.

Posted Image

Nevertheless, after the Ondrey Memorial, Nepelya Medvedev, she did not think about changing the program, she said. "We will look for some" chips "to make it comfortable for the skate, and it looked interesting," - she said, referring to cosmetic refinement. And ... already in two weeks in Japan went to the ice with another free program.

Why did the skater and her coach decide to change the program? I'll try to express my version, which, of course, may be incorrect. Zhenya is a perfectionist. It must be understood that even with those two shows that "nothing happened" and a sharp word, it would still most likely win the Olympic Games. But now she needs the most confidence in the fact that she will do everything as qualitatively as possible - or, in other words, ideally - at that very important moment, in February 2018. If, with the old technical content of Medvedev at the end of last season, established a phenomenal world record, if now, in Japan, with the first hire of a new free program, showed one of the best results in history - why risk it? If the idea is not all taken - why not turn to the same strong,

Posted Image

But, on the other hand, is there any risk that Medvedev in October, when the season has already begun, changes the program? Does it show a kind of weakness, insecurity or signs of panic? On this question I asked to answer one specialist whose name, for obvious reasons, I do not call.

"No, this is by no means a panic, this should not even be doubted," he said. "Such a change of program for a professional like Medvedev is not at all a problem." Yes, I think there is some kind of stress, but the figure skater is going over not to an absolutely new program, but to the usual technical content and the familiar history with which it has already performed, that is, it is just an adaptation. This is one of the most painless options for changing the program. While I want to note that I liked her performances from the previous one program. arches that were - listen, even with Zhenya ahead of the whole planet, why should she now "ring" the ideal form? At the most important tournaments she will be in perfect order. "

Posted Image

The only person who now probably feels somewhat unaccustomed is Averbukh. But it should be noted that the skater remains his short program. And arbitrary ... I came up with the idea: that's all wanted to try new styles of Medvedev? You are welcome! Zhenya in Anna Karenina is not at all like herself. And judging by the estimates that Medvedev received at the Japan Open, the judges are very much welcome this change of image.

So - and yet it is different! And at the same time - unsurpassed. With all the "indicative" nature of the start in Japan, Medvedev again proved to be the strongest on everyone's head - both the Japanese Mai Mihara and her friend Alina Zagitova . The unbeaten series, which has been almost two years, continues.

Breakout moment

In 2008, Nagasu won her first U.S. Championships title. She the 2010 Olympic team, and finished fourth in Vancouver, Canada.

Signature

Nagasu is known for flirting with the triple Axel, the most difficult jump that ladies figure skating has to offer today. Her coach admits to contributing to the hype around her jump. He’s put videos of her landing the jump on social media, and has said that he wants Nagasu to be comfortable with that amount of pressure.

Top quotes

“I know what it’s like to compete at a U.S. Championships when there are only two [Olympic] spots, and I know what it’s like to fight for that spot. Of course, it will be a completely different experience, because when I was 16 I was just so good at focusing in that moment. I want to have that same kind of nothing-to-lose feeling I had when I was 16, so I can go to the Olympics again and perform on that big stage.” Nagasu said, before the start of the pre-Olympic season

Olympic experience

Nagasu finished fourth at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Outside the rink

Nagasu has three rescue dogs, which she calls her “kids with tails.” Lincoln is a Pugalier, Liberty is an Australian Shepherd mix, and Lexi is a Siberian husky. She says they’re similar to having kids, because she makes sure they get plenty of exercise at the park every day. She calls them her emotional support animals because they don’t know or care about her skating, and whether she’s had a horrible day or a great day, they are always happy to see her. Their happiness, she says, is addictive. Lincoln even sleeps in her arms at night!

Nagasu is also a full time student at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. “I do it because I like having the balance of education and athleticism,” she explains. “When I come home from training, my attention immediately has to focus on my school courses, which helps keep the stress level balanced. I mostly balance both by drinking a lot of coffee and making sure I time manage well, which doesn’t happen all the time, especially during finals week.”

Her parents are Japanese and own a “delicious” sushi restaurant in Arcadia, Calif. She’s an only child and one of only two Americans in her family.

Two-time world and European champion Russian Evgeni Medvedev spoke about the new free program "Anna Karenina", and the closer to her this image.

- Zhenya, why did you decide to change the free program and stopped the choice on "Anna Karenina"?

- Initially, we put "Anna Karenina" as a model number. The first time I rented it for a show in Japan. According to the reaction of the public, it was immediately evident that the program pleased everyone. And I myself felt this image, got used to it. Very beautiful and strong music from the film "Anna Karenina", which penetrates into me, in which I really dissolve. This demonstration number was liked by our entire coaching team, and then for the first time in passing it sounded, why not take Karenina for an arbitrary program?

It would be wrong to say that the previous arbitrary program, set by Ilya Averbukh, did not work out for me. On the contrary, in the tournament "Ondrej Nepela" she collected very good spectator reviews and was highly appreciated by judges and experts. However, the image of Karenina touched me so much that I decided to change. Together with the coaches we came to the conclusion that the free program "Anna Karenina" will be preferable for me in the Olympic season.

- Programs for the Olympic season should be different? And if so, with what?

- It seems to me that for the programs of the Olympic season it is better to choose strong music and a recognizable image that is understandable not only to compatriots, but to all the rest without translation. Anna Karenina corresponds to this. The work of Leo Tolstoy could not be read by everyone, but the film "Anna Karenina" in 2012, received the "Oscar", where the main role was played by Keira Knightley, in which outstanding actors were shot - Jude Law and others, probably saw many. I appeal to all amateurs and professionals of figure skating, do not regret time and watch this film if you have not seen it yet. You will receive a tremendous pleasure from the picture. On the ice, I retell this story, and if you watch a movie, everything will be clear to you.

Posted Image

The program sounds music from the film, which was also nominated for the "Oscar" as "Best Music". It is very strong, piercing, penetrating into the heart. It was always important for me to understand what I'm skating about the program, what story I'm telling on the ice. The theme "Karenina" - the story of her love, experiences - is humanly understandable to me. Such a specific image is unusual for me. It is very interesting for me to work in it.

- When was it decided to change an arbitrary program?

- After the tournament in Bratislava. Then it was decided that the arbitrary should be changed to "Anna Karenina." Although the decision was not easy. It is clear that taking such steps in the course of the season is rather risky. But the season has just begun, there was enough time in reserve.

- How has the new free program changed compared to the exponential number?

- The demo number is different from the program you are performing, so we made the necessary changes to the content, jumps were added. But the general message, drawing, paths, rotation remained the same. Immediately after Bratislava, before the "Japan Open" we rolled up a new random one. But since this program is convenient for me to roll, I did everything fairly quickly and with pleasure.

- Remind, please, who put "Anna Karenina"?

- Daniel Gleyhengauz and Eteri Georgievna Tutberidze.

But I want to add at once that I like Averbukh's free program. I did not put it in the back box, I do not rule out that in the future I will return to it.

- Speaking at the " Japan Open ", judging by the estimates, confirmed the correctness of the decision?

- Estimates for the components in "Anna Karenina" were higher. And I repeat that this program is very convenient for me to roll. The image of the heroine fell in love for a long time. The program, I think, was a success. Although judging this not to us, but to the arbitrators and lovers of figure skating.

Already at the next tournament series in Salzburg flashed another athlete Tutberidze 13-year-old Anastasia Tarakanova, who not long ago passed from coach Svetlana Panova, who prepared for "adult" riding one of the leading figure skaters of the country, Maria Sotskov. The debut of Tarakanova in the junior Grand Prix went the same as that of Trusova - a victory with a powerful 196.68 points.

Posted Image

But a little later in Zagreb Tarakanova lost gold to Sofya Samodurova - 15-year-old figure skater Alexei Mishin. Samodurova scored a total of 187.86 points, which is around 10 units lower than with the winning hire of figure skaters Tutberidze.

Posted Image

Tarakanova was in the lead after a short program, but in an arbitrary made mistakes on most jumps and in the final protocol she remained third, which did not prevent her from being selected for the Final.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaPTCOtEC7o

"Her victory can not be considered a coincidence," Mishin told Samodurova, "She took her place, because she had to be one of the first in the technique of jumping, balancing movements, and choreography of programs."

Posted Image

But before the Croatian was still a stage in Riga, where they also applauded the staff of Tutberidze. Points of her student Darya Panenkova (185,80) because of mistakes while were more modest, than at Trusovoj with Tarakanovoj, but the best in the Latvian capital. It's interesting that Panekova directly lost to Japanese Rike Kihira, who struggles with the Triple Axel for the second season. In Latvia, he was credited to her, but to the total "minus 3".

Soon in Poland Gdansk Panenkova gathered and achieved 196.55 points, but lost to compatriot and partner at the "Tutberidze factory" 14-year-old Alena Kostornaya, whose judges counted 197.91 points. Curiously, but in an arbitrary Panenkova bypassed Kostornaya more than two points with a pure hire of both athletes. In the middle of October, Panenkova suffered a leg injury during training, which she reported in her Instagram account, but expressed her hope for a recovery to the Final in Japan.

At the last stage in Bolzano the question of reaching the Final was decided by Kostornaya and Samodurova, the latter having won with a score of 192.19 points, having defeated her compatriot by only 0.04 points.

A number of Russian figure skaters did not pretend to the Finals because the stage was allocated to them only one. The start in Salzburg was unsuccessful for 14-year-old Anastasia Gubanova - one of the most artistic and mature juniors of the country (4th place, 160.75 points). The same fourth position in Latvia was taken by an experienced junior 15-year-old Alisa Fedichkina. In Brisbane, the second after Trusova was 15-year-old Anastasia Gulyakova (181.43), the third place in Minsk was taken by 17-year-old Stanislav Konstantinova (181.98) .9

Male single, where Japan is on the sidelines

In April, Tutberidze admitted at a press conference at the MIA "Russia Today" that it is easier for boys to work with boys than with girls. "I understand more girls, they are more ready for work for me," the coach said. But in the current "Grand Prix" series, it was her pupil, the 18-year-old Erokhov, who was the first Russian solo player to have the right to start in Nagoya.

Erokhov won at the stages in Minsk (232,79) and Gdansk (221,89). In both competitions he was credited with three quadruple jump in an arbitrary (two sheepskin coats and Salchow). Despite the significant amount of marriage in the performance of the quads, Erokhov is the only one among the participants in the Final who make more than one call per quarter for the program.

"I want to say that he showed the real men's skating by performing complex elements and deservedly won, despite the fact that his rivals also performed well," said Alexander Kogan, general director of the Federation of figure skating of Russia (FFKKR), summarizing Yerokhov's rentals.

Two of the victories of the two succeeded only the ex-pupil Mishin American Alexei Krasnozhon, who for the second season in a row fought with a quad rattemberger in an arbitrary, but unsuccessfully. He did not show any other quads, however, this did not prevent him from winning in Brisbane (209.37), Zagreb (225.48) and getting accreditation in Nagoya.

Also in the final was a pupil of Yevgeny Rukavitsyn 17-year-old Ignatov with a quadruple sheepskin coat in the arsenal, which became the second in Riga and the third in Zagreb. It was not possible to qualify for Japan to Roman Savosin, who became the second and fourth in the Australian and Latvian stages, respectively. In Salzburg, the third place was taken by Yegor Murashov, but in Bolzano he was only the eighth.

On the strength of theory was to get a ticket to the Final 18-year-old Vladimir Samoilov, but figure skater Evgeni Plushenko got only one stage. In Bolzano, he first won a short program, but in an arbitrary audience did not see the attempt of the fourth flip, which Samoylov took at the Moscow Junior Championship, where he also quite cleanly made Salhov in four turns. In the Italian outback the sportsman doubled the Salchis, then did this element in four turns in a cascade with a triple sheepskin coat for a small plus and took the final second place in the stage.

It is noteworthy that in the Japanese Finals only one junior from the Land of the Rising Sun itself - Mitsuki Sumoto, who has not even announced his intention to perform at least one quadruple jump. Without a quadruple and an American Camden Pulkinen, who won in Salzburg (203,80).

Greenhouses are true to traditions

The significant presence of Russians in the Grand Prix Final in pair skating is already a tradition. Pavlyuchenko and Khodykin won the stage in Minsk (166.24) and became the second in Gdansk, Panfilov / Rylov won in Riga (157.51) and took the third place in Minsk. Poluyanov / Sopot were second in Belarus and third in Poland, Boykov / Kozlovsky - second in Latvia and third in Croatia.

Another Russian couple, Polina Kostyukovich / Dmitry Yalin, was the only one in junior skating who was fairly clean at the fourth stage in Zagreb, where she won first place, but in Gdańsk she ran a random program, became only sixth and did not get to Nagoya.

Four pairs from Russia against the Shpilband duet

In the junior dances on the ice, the struggle of the national and North American schools continues. Formally, the American pair Christina Carreira / Anthony Ponomarenko, who scored two victories out of two possible, scored 145.39 and 150.05 points, respectively, in the two stages. But this is a pair of Igor Shpilbanda US dance representation in the Grand Prix Final and ends.

The Russians Skoptsova / Aleshin took second place in Minsk and the first in Gdansk (150.78), Shevchenko / Eremenko - the first in Riga (140.91) and the second in Zagreb. "With good skating, they are able to qualify for a pedestal in Nagoya, a troika of winners." They have very great progress, "said their coach Alexander Svinin about Shevchenko / Eremenko. Polishchuk / Vakhnov were the first in Brisbane (145.86) and the second in Bolzano, Ushakov / Nekrasov - the third in Minsk and the first in Italy (149.01).

The participants in the Final of the Junior Grand Prix-2017/18:

Today, October 11, in Moscow after the opening ceremony of the new Ice rink CSKA bronze medalist of the World Cup 2015 Elena Radionova gave an interview to our publication.

- Elena, judging by your happy smile, the opening of the new skating rink CSKA for you a big holiday?
- Great. We all so waited for the opening of this rink. A couple of times with the girls we came to his construction site. I am very happy that the new skating rink was built and I am confident that new stars of Russian and world figure skating will soon perform on this rink.

- Where did you train before?
- All my life I train in CSKA, and I never betrayed my club. I am very glad that I have the honor to speak for an army club, to wear its uniform. I'm an army man to the core. I started figure skating in the Ice Palace of CSKA named after Vsevolod Bobrov, where the KHL matches are held. Since 2005 I have been riding in the CSKA training rink at the Stanislav Zhuk school. And now I waited until another arena was built.

- Did you like the new ice rink?
- It's very comfortable in the new arena. There are large rooms, comfortable dressing rooms. It's very good that a treadmill was made on the second floor. This is very important for the athlete. I have not skied here yet, but I think I will fill this gap soon. Soon this ice rink will become a native for me.

- Next week in Moscow will start the first stage of the Grand Prix. Is this an intermediate start for you or do you set the highest goals for yourself?
- Of course the highest! Only clean good rolling. Now the main preparation is for this start.

- At the end of last season, you changed the coach. What are the advantages of the transition from Inna Goncharenko to Elena Buyanova (Vodorezova)?
- It happens that athletes change coaches. This is normal. Unfortunately, we had a peak in our relations with Inna Germanovna, and I moved to Elena Germanovna. I am very grateful to her that she took me to her group. I really like working with her.

By the way

At the moment, 123 young figure skaters are training at the Stanislav Zhuk Army School. At the "old" ice skating rink CSKA, which was opened in 2005, involved about 200 people.

Elena Radionova, two-time silver medalist of the European championships (2015, 2017) Maxim Kovtun, silver medalist of the European championship 2014 Sergey Voronov, vice-champion of the II Winter Youth Olympic Games of 2016 Maria Sotskova and the silver medalist of the Russian championship in 2017, Alexander Samarin.

Also at the rink will be matches of the Night Hockey League and amateur teams of Russian servicemen.

Russian figure skater Yelena Radionova spoke about how the change of coach changed her approach to training.

Recall that in the offseason, the athlete moved from Inna Goncharenko's group to Elena Buyanova.

"It seems to me that I performed a short program in Moscow more confidently than in the previous times. Yes, there was a blot on the cascade, but I coped with the rest.

We left a short program since last season. But I myself, and the program - others. I became more aware of the training process. The off-season turned out to be very fruitful. A new coach, a new team. You can say that I myself have changed.

In this regard, the emotions in the program have become a little bit different, that's why the program looks a bit different, "Radionova said.

Almost two months ago, Julia Lipnitskaya announced the official end of her sports career. And yesterday during the discussion within the framework of the World Festival of Youth and Students, which is now taking place in Sochi, the Olympic champion announced that she had found a new occupation for her.

Posted Image

"Now the Grand Prix stages are starting, and I plan to try myself in commenting," she told journalists and participants.

Competitions in figure skating will begin in Moscow on October 20. Now the figure skater actively trains in oratory, communicating with professional commentators.

Let's remind, the mother of the champion, Daniela Lipnitskaya, told about the withdrawal from the sport of the public.

"Julia told her leadership about the plans to finish her career back in April, right after her return from Europe, where she underwent a three-month treatment for anorexia," the figure skater TASS quotes her mother. - We are grateful to the company "TeleSport", which helped Yulia at this difficult moment. I note that now my daughter lives only for an Olympic scholarship. She does not get a salary from the federation, although she is on the payroll of the national team ".

Long before the start of the Friday competitions, the social networks bypassed the photos taken in the morning of huge queues on the stands, consisting mainly of Japanese fans. The clock was 7 am with a ponytail. Moscow saw the queue for Serov and Aivazovsky, now saw the line for Yuzuru Khan .

At this stage, the Grand Prix gathered an excellent team, but the two figures in it stand apart. One is Medvedev. The second is Khanyu. Two stars, because of which the neighborhoods of Khodynka turned into a few days in small Japan - there are so many representatives of the Land of the Rising Sun.

The Japanese, as a star musicians, came to Moscow from other cities and even neighboring countries. For the sake of someone to see him alive, they collected money all over the world - I know such examples. He is asked to be photographed with a CSKA scarf (for the laughter of Japanese journalists "cheeska mosco"), he is asked if he tried Russian borsch ... When this Japanese player is playing at your tournament, you need to hire a special cleaning team for Vinni-Pukhov along with the usual attendants. Because ordinary children on ice skates, which are released on the ice for these purposes, can not cope with this - and how to deal with it when some yellow-red pot-bellied gifts the size of themselves. In a mixed zone, Khanyu waited, slightly apart from the bustling crowd, a flock of Russian pre-adolescent girls with Winnie the Pooh, but already Russian.

Khanyu is another phenomenon of modern figure skating. It would seem that the Japanese has everything not to tear the veins beyond measure: the title of the Olympic champion, the reputation that provide him with attention and status in the eyes of the judges, the second assessment. And he continues to look for ways to get even more points. In Moscow, Khanyu became the only one who, in a short program, decided to move a quadruple jump into the second half of the program-not alone, but in a cascade with a triple sheepskin coat. And while the experiment did not bring the desired results: Yudzuru did not twist the first quadrant and fell off the triple toe-loop in a cascade, when it seemed that he had already left. And in general, the rental looked from the rostrum rather "labor", than "inspired." As a result, Khanyu lost about 17 points to his own world record, set in September at a small tournament in Canada.
The main intrigue in dancing on ice is the confrontation between the first number of the Russian national team Ekaterina Bobrova / Dmitry Solovyov and the Americans Maya and Alex Shibutani . Of course, this is not about geopolitics. Just Americans who have issued two impressive seasons before the Olympics may be the main contenders for that Olympic medal, which will remain free after the disassembly of Tessa Virtu / Scott Moir and Gabriela Papadakis / Guillaume Siseroen. Interest added the fact that the brother and sister this season were almost the only skaters of the first series who decided to start immediately with the Grand Prix and not play in small preseason tournaments. Accordingly, no one saw their programs before Moscow. The first full-time duel ended with a slight advantage of Americans: the score of excellence was formed from higher ratings for the execution of elements and slightly higher components. The best seed for an arbitrary dance was not to come up.

The two-time world champion in women's singles skating Yevgeny Medvedev won the first stage of the Grand Prix in Moscow, after which he told Russian and foreign media, among which were the journalists of the R-Sport agency, about the current state of affairs. Shortly before the start of the Grand Prix series, Medvedev changed the arbitrary program with the one that Ilya Averbukh put , on the "Anna Karenina" of the authorship of Daniel Gleyhengauz.
- Eugene, there was a specific reason, when you, what is called, clicked in your head: "We must change the program"?
- Arbitrary on Nepela Trophy.
- And what exactly prompted?

- Internal state. Let's be frank, I felt the arbitrary program and felt not so confidently as in "Anna Karenina."
- This discomfort was associated with the arrangement of technical elements, jumps, or the idea itself did not fall?
- I think that it is the very idea, because I did not fully experience this program, and I could not put into it as much emotion and soul as I can invest in Anna Karenina.
- Were there any doubts about the idea of changing the program?

- There was no doubt, we took the right step, which was beneficial.
- Have you discussed the image of "Anna Karenina," because the heroine is older than you, and the plot is very dramatic. Did it bother you somehow?
- No, I did not disturb this moment at all. After all, if you go back to the time of this novel, then if a girl is 25-26 years old and she is not married, then she is considered a virgin without any hope of marriage. Therefore, I do not think that I have an insufficient age for this program. I think I can roll this image the way it should be rolled.
- The former arbitrary program you put Averbukh, the current - Daniel Gleyhengauz .
- Ilya and Daniel worked together in the show. When we put the programs - both short and previous random, the work always proceeded not only from Ilya or from Daniel. All creative finds were created jointly, and the work was very well coordinated. Ilya and Daniel very well feel each other in this regard. I can say for sure that they are wonderful choreographers who can not be compared.

- Your current arbitrary again on the theme of love and death, like the last arbitrary. Do you think this topic suits you specifically for human nature, or are those emotions that you are able to express most of all on ice?
- I can not say that the previous program was on absolutely the same subject as the current one. Then there was a completely different story, and there was no death per se. Because people interpreted my story in different ways, which we counted on. There was a certain understatement, and in people my program evoked different emotions, which can not but rejoice. But, to be honest, I like to roll dramas, because this is a genre in which you can express maximum of your emotions. This is suffering, compassion, and reflection. Absolutely versatile genre. In it you can build a lot of images.
- At the end of last season in the official training you demonstrated a cascade of four triple jumps. Here we saw how you fought the flip, and not quite successfully. Although all are used to the fact that your workouts are, as a rule, perfect. He was successful at the box office. It means something?
"I would not like to talk about this now."
- It is known about the high intensity of your training. Carolina Costner here spoke about the importance of recovery after the competition to avoid injuries. Can you tell us about how to balance your workouts?
- For me, the best recovery is absolute silence. If you come to my room, you can not notice the TV and other devices that make sounds. I have an aquarium that gurgles, and that, because the fish need to breathe. When I come home from training, I close in my room and sit in absolute silence. Maybe I'll read a book, maybe I'll drop by the social network, but no sound is produced in my room. In silence, I recover very quickly.

- Before, you said that you watch cartoons. But now there is silence in your room.
- No, I do not watch cartoons anymore. Now only the gurgling of the aquarium (laughs). On the day off I really like to sleep in the morning and do not get out of bed until the middle of the day. I have many friends who offended me for not paying attention to them. I answer them: well, come on, come, come to my room and lie down next to me.
"To keep quiet?"
- Yes, I had a story with my cousin, whom we had not seen for about six months. "Zhenya, are not you ashamed?" She asked me. Ok, I say, I have a day off today. My sister got up at eight in the morning and left for me. I warned her: "Fine, but do not you expect us to go somewhere." "Well, damn it, what will we do?" she asks. I answer: "I'll wrap myself in a blanket, lie down and look at you." She: "It's boring, but good, I'm still going." Comes, writes: "Zhenya, I'm at the metro station". I: "Class, go right and left." She: "Are not you even going to meet me?". Me not".

- Earlier you said that it was not so bad when "cockroaches are in your head". Have you changed the approach? And do not you work with a psychologist?
- No, I have never worked with a psychologist. And "cockroaches in the head" are needed, they are disciplined. Because if you are absolutely confident in yourself, you go out on the ice and think: "Now I will go and do everything" ... But miracles do not happen, because you still need to concentrate very much and keep yourself in shape. But the overabundance of these "cockroaches" also leads to sad consequences. These "cockroaches" begin to eat you from the inside, and this is very bad.

- Your friend Ekaterina Bobrova has already promised to make her classical execution for the double axel not done at the tournament (Medvedev could not fulfill the axel in two and a half turns at the Moscow Grand Prix stage, earlier for the failure of such an element Bobrov friendlyly "awarded" the figure skater a symbolic blow on the soft spot - ed.)?
- No, she, on the contrary, praised me. I have already heard a lot about this "duple" (double axel) from all the others lately (laughs). "Eugene, you, of course, well done, but" dupel "is something ..." Come on, guys, already!
- So Katya changed tactics?
- Katya really supports me, and now I can feel that I have an older sister.
- Yuzuru Khanyu said that it is interesting to win, when on the ice athlete is in dramatic circumstances?
- I absolutely agree with his opinion that it is much more interesting to win with very vivid emotions. Not when you just went out, just rolled back and just won, and when you feel that you defeated. That you did it finally! I had about such emotions after a short program. I was very angry after a short program here, on the warm-up the jumps did not go very well, but I made them at the box office and proved to myself that I can! Yes, it is more difficult to win, but thanks to such emotions, you understand the price of victory.
