- I've heard the version that you decided to go to Canada, not to continue seriously training. And just in order to expand the possibility of show shows.

- In secret, I will tell you that in the show I definitely do not lack.

- Bryan Orser was your only candidate as a coach?

- Yes.

- Why he?

- Because Yuna Kim. This is the first thing that occurred to me when I began to think about the transition. Yuna won the Olympics in Vancouver in 19 years, and in 23 years she became the second at the Games in Sochi. At the Olympic Games in Beijing, I will be 22. The case, of course, is not in it alone. Orser in general there are many athletes, who in the figure skating are usually called age-old and who passed more than one olympiad. Yuna Kim is just one of them.

Posted Image

- You are not embarrassed that in the summer Orser took to his group quite a few new skaters?

- Not at all. I have grown all my conscious life and trained in constant competition. It does not bother me at all. Especially since Bryan has the main part of his group - boys. This time. Secondly, Orser practices an individual approach to each athlete, and he himself constantly emphasizes this. Therefore, he has enough time and attention for everyone. And in general I like that before my eyes there will be a lot of top-level athletes who can give me something more than it was before.

- How did you manage to keep the form taking into account the fact that there was nowhere to go for a drive?

- Such a form as the one that I had at the Olympic Games, it is impossible to keep it physically physically, and it is not necessary. At the Olympics, I was quite exhausted - I was preparing myself to go to the very peak to an arbitrary program. There I had the minimum weight and the maximum moral attitude. Therefore, after the Games, it took a long time to recover.

https://twitter.com/Volley_tennis_/status/1013200242634776576

I added more weight, but not too much. At home I have a simulator that allowed me to keep the muscles in working condition. As for the functional form, no athlete can keep himself without intensive training. For this I am going to Canada now.

- Orser expressed any wishes?

- No. I think he understood perfectly well, when we talked with him in Korea, that I will continue to train due to my capabilities. That is - circumstances. There will be ice - I will walk on it. In Moscow, I did not have ice. In the sense that there was no main base. Several hours before the departure for the show in Japan, we still managed to find, and I managed to "pick up" some jumps. What I really wanted to do.

"Have not you jumped for too long?"

"I have not jumped for too long." I experienced a great pleasure when jumps finally began to work out.

- It was always interesting, by the way: do you have time to think about anything during the jump?

- About everything! A thousand thoughts in my head at this moment. I also have time to see everything that happens around. I'm trying to control everything.

- Have you discussed with Orser the choice of programs for the season?

- No. First of all, I want to hear a variety of opinions on this matter. The opinion is not only of Brian himself, but of his assistant Tracy Wilson, the opinion of David Wilson, who will put me programs.

Posted Image

- Do you personally know these specialists?

"I know David." With Tracy less. Strangely enough, I know much better with their athletes. With Yudzuru (Khanyu), with Javi (Fernandez), with Jason (Brown).

- And what would you like?

- If we talk about the season as a whole, I'm not going to miss any starts. Neither open rentals, nor the Grand Prix stages. I would like to change the style of riding. Firstly, I have changed as a person and, probably, I can not be the same on the ice too. I have a different perception of life, a different perception of the world.

I am sure that now I will come to Canada, and in my head everything will turn over again. I want to try myself on the ice in some new way. There are many images that I have never rolled, never even tried.

- What type of hopping kit would you like to see in your programs?

- I have some ideas on this, but it's too early to talk about them.

- In this plan, you probably should be inspired by changes in the rules that limit the number of jumps in the second half of the program.

- These changes gave me a basis for further work, let's say. If they told us that we are now obliged to do all the jumps in the second half, I would have gone silently and did it.

Posted Image

- Have you always liked those programs that you had to perform on ice?

- Madly I liked the very first adult program, where I depict a girl who does not hear. "Karenina" really liked. But the one that I won with the second World Cup, at first I did not like at all. I just at the end of it "rasprobovala." Vkatala, set a world record and I liked it that allows to reach the goal. And from "Karenina" I, as they say, the roof took down. Especially after these "January stars", where only the dress was beautiful. I was all in this program.

- Coach Oksana Baiul once said that if the skater allows himself to go too far into an image, when he calls on a triple jump, he will leave this jump, lying on his back. To what extent do you allow yourself to be distracted from the elements when you skate?

- "Karenina" allowed it thoroughly. When I rolled this program at the Olympics, I just let my body do his work, and she completely went into the image. I did not even try to distract myself somehow, imagine, as it sometimes happens, that you just go random in training. There was some crazy inner freedom. Would you know what was happening in my head when the path of steps began?

- And what?

- I went and asked myself: "Do you understand that this is the Olympics? You understand that you are looking at millions of people, maybe a billion?" Do you understand that if you make a small mistake now, everything will go to hell? " And she answered herself: "I understand." "Cool?" - "Cool, continue to have fun!" Absolutely no effort was not.

- Have you ever had to wonder why the Olympic champions of previous years with rare exception could not or did not want to hold out until the second Olympics? Why could not Bayul, Tara Lipinski, Adeline Sotnikova be left?

- Most likely, it is the fear of losing everything that you have earned over the years. The desire to continue to ride is, as it seems to me, always, just when a person has the opportunity to try some other life, it is also addictive. Few have the opportunity to understand that sport and normal life can not always be compatible.

Posted Image

- I knew a wrestler who won the Olympics in 23, finished his career with the words: "I do not want life to pass by while I go to training." A familiar sensation?

- No, this I have never had. It was a normal childhood - I played games, though not on the street, but in the gym, but I was having fun. And now I do not think that life passes by. I finished school, went to university.

- And when did you manage to learn English?

- I did not teach it purposefully. I just realized that I have no choice.

- In what sense?

- In the most direct. I saw how foreign athletes of my age or a little older constantly chatting among themselves at competitions, and each time I thought: how do I want to talk to you too, but if I only knew how? Once I tried, then tried again.

I brought three words from one trip, from the other five. Somewhere on the Internet I read how to correctly form a phrase, somewhere I learned some slang. And she did not notice how she was able not only to talk, but also to give interviews. It turns out not unmistakably, yes, somewhere I stumble, somewhere an incorrect grammar. But they understand me. And I understand people.

- Is it hard for you to admit that you do not know something?

- Absolutely not. I do not know a lot of things. I do not know how to do a lot of things. I'm not ashamed and it's not difficult to admit it. Because it is really so.

- How long can you stay without figure skating, so that it does not cause internal discomfort?

- Few. Very little. I do not know how to sit in one place without movement - it starts to break down muscles and becomes physically very uncomfortable. When you do not ride for a long time, the same thing happens, legs constantly break. I also have a special feature - when there is a day off and there is no ice, the head starts to hurt madly, though in the refrigerator, thrust it! Probably something is in the ice, without which I just can not. Besides, it's just emotionally difficult for me to sit in one place.

- How quickly skating skills are lost when you do not train.

- This is a very fast process. Stop feeling the blades. You go and understand that everything seems to be doing on the machine: he sat on a horse, went, the brain understands what to do, and once a leg goes to the other side. As if the contact of the brain with your legs is a little lost. If you want one, you find yourself in a completely different place. All the most ridiculous falls I have had because of this. Broken knees, elbows ...

"Coming back to the topic of your departure to Canada, you could not help thinking about the resources your new life might require."

- Basically my mom thought about it. It was her job to understand how ready we are for this.

- And as soon as Mom said that they were ready ...

- I realized that you need to take your skates in your teeth - and to Canada.

"Did anyone try to talk you out of this step?"

- Honestly? No. At all…

The couple appeared at a party in Gorky Park in Moscow. Eyewitnesses say that the guys held hands and smiled at each other.

YEREVAN, July 1 - Sputnik. Two-time silver medalist of the Olympic Games, two-time world figure skating champion Yevgeny Medvedev (Babasyan, according to his father) seems to have met his love, "StarHit" reports .

I will remain without friends, private life - without everything? The shocking recognition of Evgenia Medvedeva
As the newspaper writes, the other day a talented sportswoman was seen in the company of singer Christian Kostov. The guys together came to the party, which was held in the Park Gorky in Moscow. Many eyewitnesses say that Christian and Eugenia behaved like a couple in love.

The guest of the event named Maria, in particular, told that Chris and Zhenya did not take their eyes off each other, smiling and holding hands.

"Usually people look like that, between which a spark ran," - says Maria.

Note that in May, Medvedev was invited as a guest on a talk show on "Eurovision". Kostova, who last year represented Bulgaria at the European song contest in Kiev, was also invited there and took second place.

It was then, as the Internet portal reports, that Zhenya and Chris exchanged phone numbers. Active correspondence was followed by visits.

"My home is where my loved ones are" - Evgenia Medvedeva told about moving to Canada >>

Now Eugene is in Toronto, where under the guidance of the new coach Brian Orser will begin preparations for the competition. Despite the tight schedule, Zhenya is constantly in touch with Christian.

Previously, the silver medalist of the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang Evgeny Medvedev left from coach Eteri Tutberidze, with whom she was engaged for 11 years.

Evgeny Medvedev recently has been quite active in social networks, in particular, on Twitter. However, her last record led to a small discussion with the fan. Fasting was extremely innocuous.

"I love social networks, Twitter is there, Instagram." And I love even more adequate and balanced people. "LOVE," - wrote Medvedev.

https://twitter.com/JannyMedvedeva/status/1014876914740289536

Unexpectedly, under this post, one of the followers left the following comment: "Zhenya, we're eating again." Accompanied by her photograph, Medvedeva, sitting at a table during a meal.

The figure skater did not remain silent and answered rather emotionally: "Now I do not have anything at all?" They walked in. Nothing good comes of it. "I do not advise."

However, most of the followers in the comments supported Medvedev. And even the user with the nickname doctor_bombit below wrote that he joked and the athlete can eat as much as she thinks fit.

Reigning men’s world champion and Olympic bronze medalist Nathan Chen headlines the skaters tabbed to compete at 2018 Skate America on Oct. 19-21 at Angel of the Winds Arena.

The International Skating Union announced the selections last week.

Chen, the two-time men’s U.S. national champion who took bronze at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, was one of a host of 2018 U.S. champions selected to compete in Everett. Also selected were reigning ladies national champion Bradie Tennell, reigning pairs national champions Alexa Scimeca-Knierim and Chris Knierim, and reigning ice dancing national champions Maddison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue.

Among the international competitors selected were Japan’s Satoko Miyahara, the women’s 2015 world silver medalist and 2018 world bronze medalist; and Russia’s Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov, the two-time defending pairs European champions and reigning world silver medalists. In total, 23 of the entrants participated at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Edmonds native Jean-Luc Baker and his partner, Kaitlin Hawayek, were not selected for the ice dancing competition. The U.S. has one more entry in each category that will be announced at a later date. However, Baker and Hawayek expected to compete in two ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating events during the 2018 season, and were selected for the NHK Trophy in Hiroshima, Japan, on Nov. 9-11 and Internationaux de France in Grenoble, France, on Nov. 23-25, so are unlikely to compete in Everett.
