3x09 They Shoot Humphrey's, Don't They?
Wow! What a great episode! I was so pleasantly surprised. This whole season has felt off, and for the first time I felt like I was watching Gossip Girl again. I think it really needs that high school element which was very present this episode.

I loved the Blair v. Jenny v. Eric conflict. It reminded me so much of the Jenny/Blair stuggle in season 1, except this time Eric was involved too. I love him having such an interesting storyline. I like Eric being the sweet, level headed one, but I think it will be good to see another side of his character. And I was very excited when Nate ended up being Jenny's escort! I saw it coming, but it was still a great moment.

I thought the Serena/Blair elevator seen also felt like old times. I love when we see exactly why they're friends. I thought Chuck's line about how they were fighting over who loves the other one more was funny but also so true. They just have such a strange way of showing they care. But it was so nice to finally hear Serena talking to Blair about exactly why she's been going through this hard time, and I was proud of Blair for looking out for Serena with Tripp. Chuck was hilarious spying on them through the call box. lol.

I'd heard there was going to be a threesome this episode, and my friend and I spent a lot of time coming up with who we thought it might be. I kept expecting something with Blair/Chuck/Serena or Blair/Chuck/Jenny or even Blair/Chuck/Nate just because I feel like those groupings pop up all the time in fic for some reason, so I was very surprised when it ended up being Olivia/Dan/Vanessa. I kind of love it, though. Now Vanessa and Dan have actually slept together...but in a super kinky way...and I can't wait to see the awkward dynamic this will create when Olivia ends up sticking around.

Jenny wants to be the Queen Bee of not only Constance but of all the Upper East Side, as she lands the hottest escort for the Cotillion. Leighton Meester's new single "Somebody to Love", is featured in the episode, along with performace from Plastiscines.

3x08 The Grandfather: Part II
Basically, I don't care what else happened in this episode, I loved it just for the Chuck and Blair snuggling at the end. As you can see from my icon, I have a weakness for sleeping!Chair.

I think I did like the rest of it though. There was a perfect lack of Rufus, and Vanessa's storyline was actually interesting for once. I liked her inner turmoil in regards to the Van der Bilt footage. And it was nice to get another Vanessa/Nate scene. I still can't decide if I ship them, but I definitely enjoy their interactions.

I was a bit confused, though. I thought Nate DID set up Trip, but I guess his wife did? Did Nate just admit to it to save the election? I'm kind of curious to see where this Tripp/Serena thing is going. I keep coming across Blair/Tripp fics. Were they together at some point in the books? I can't even remember them talking on the show.

Olivia and Dan are really adorable. They remind me so much of Season 1 Dan and Serena, but then I get sad because I miss THEM being together. Lily's line about the 5 hours of scrabble was funny.

I can't decide whose side I'm on with the Blair/Serena fight. Chuck's maybe? lol. I thought he made some good points, but at the same time I don't think Serena should always have to be the one to apologize. (I mean, she did need to apolgize, but Blair does too.) I do feel like Serena should be able to read Waldorf Subtext, though, like Chuck said. To me, it seemed like even though she wasn't admitting it, Blair was totally looking out for Serena by getting Patrick up to his suite and pointing out that her current job is a bit shady. But at the same time, I think she was a little harsh implying that she had outgrown Serena. It made me wonder if the whole Serena being #1 was more of a draw for her than a constant drawback as I had always imagined.

Olivia, as a guest on Jimmy Fallon's talk show, says something she regrets and tries to hide it from Dan. With elections coming up, Nate suspects his grandfather will do everything he has to get Trip into congress. After another fight with Serena, Blair gets a new friend and takes her to an election night party at Chuck's hotel, just to make Serena jealous.
