Which is why the ending didn't really make sense to me. I liked the symmetry of starting the season with the "3 words, 8 letters" intro and then ending it with him finally saying them, but I thought there were so many other points in time where he had more of a reason to say them--when he came to apologize for the brunch, when he found her with Carter, when she was losing herself at the Vanderbilt party, in the restaurant when she told him she'd leave Nate for him, at the graduation party when she basically begged him to finally tell her. I didn't see what changed between that party scene and the sidewalk scene. She wasn't going anywhere. She wasn't with anyone new. Why then?
