Good afternoon GCW! First off we just wanted to thank you for making last month an amazing month and overall a great (exactly) 2 months! But enough about the past, we are onto the future. As you can tell by the title of this Announcement we have a lot to say so let’s get right into it. The idea of “Documentaries” was brought up a few days ago, and it made us decide to jumpstart one of the ideas thought of by Chad Bowens and that is the idea of having a Wikipedia page. This has been done in feds in the past and current and it is really cool when done well. The Wikipedia for GCW can be found here. http://gcw.wikia.com/wiki/GCW_Wiki Each person can create their own Wikipedia page for their character(s). This doesn’t limit them to just their GCW career but their wrestlers career over the duration of however long you’ve been using them and what they have done in other feds. Also on this Wikipedia page you can discuss your character’s upbringing, relationship history, and family, basically it’s like a real-life Wikipedia page but for your wrestler. Chad Bowens has already made one for himself as a template which you can find here. http://gcw.wikia.com/wiki/Chad_Bowens Other Wikipedia articles that you can find are the GCW itself wiki, Wikipedia pages for Jonathan Evergreen, Lafron, and Jeremiah Taft (that are all under construction), and the GCW Legacy and Heavyweight Championships. Wikipedia articles about “First Blood: Don’t Call It A Comeback”, “Next Level”, “Lightning Round”, and “Lightning” can be expected to be added soon. If you have any questions about setting up your own Wikipedia page, please message Chad Bowens who will be happy to assist in any way possible. This leads to the next topic which is the idea of Documentaries. The board likes the idea and feels that the Wikipedia page will help this become better than it would’ve been as a stand alone idea. Periodically the board will pick a Wikipedia page that they find interesting and ask that person if they want to have a documentary style segment be written about them that they themselves will have a part in writing it. This will encourage people to make their own Wikipedia pages and give everybody on the site a better idea of a person’s character. To be clear none of this is required but we felt that these are both fun ideas to help grow your characters. Another thing we wanted to discuss was Twitter. GCW has had a Twitter account since early May but we never thought of promoting it on site, instead it was thought of as an idea to promote the site to other people to help us grow in numbers, however we thought it would be cool to join the countless number of other feds and have a bigger showing on Twitter. Like the other ideas this is completely voluntary and its perfectly fine if you choose to not participate. If you wish to join in you can follow us on Twitter @TheGCWrestling In addition to all of this Mace Douglas created us a “Discord” which he says is a way “for people to get to know each other more in our community and reach out with open arms. I feel this could help us out a lot with just communication.” This sounds like it could do nothing but benefit GCW and bring us closer together so if you wish to join us there you can go to https://discord.gg/48pY6SD Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoy all these new ideas and the new Backstage Area idea for this week, if it is well received we will be doing more like it in the future. Once again, we couldn’t be happier with the activity on the site since we first opened our doors exactly 2 months ago and are excited to see what the future holds for GCW! |
