He pushes through the curtain and enters the backstage area. For the first time in over a month, he feels that his career is finally back on track. He can finally focus on more important things, set new goals, and face new, exciting challenges. Otis Wright has been Mizo’s main focus ever since he returned to GCW, the biggest thorn on his side. He knew he had to beat him to get back into title contention. And tonight, he was able to defeat him and get that weight off his shoulders. Now, the biggest question that’s on Mizo’s mind is: what’s next for him? Is there anything else that he hopes to achieve? Damn right, there is! He, like everyone else on the roster, aspires to reach the mountaintop, the top of the food chain, and what other way to reach that level than by winning the grandest prize of them all, the GCW World Heavyweight Championship! But as he said before, whether he gets a shot at the title or not is a decision that’s not his to make. If he REALLY wants a shot at the title, then he must prove himself worthy of that shot. During his GCW career, he was only beaten by one man, Trent Johnson. Maybe if Mizo evens the score with him, it would give him the push he needs. Surely the board wouldn’t mind giving him that match… He begins walking towards the general manager’s office. Mizo reaches the door with ‘Jonathan Evergreen’ written on it, but just before he could knock on that door, he is suddenly approached by that nosy interviewer, who’s known by the name of Hailey London. He wonders if it would be better if he just told her to go away, as he’s had enough of those damn interviewers. But then again, she’s just here to do her job. “Mizo, tonight you have finally defeated Otis Wright. How do you feel about that?” “Otis truly proved that he’s one hell of a performer, but then again, I am more experienced. I’ve been competing in the squared circle far longer than him, and that’s why I defeated him tonight. Now, if you excuse me, Helen, I need to talk to Evergreen.” “It’s Hailey…” He interrupts. “Oh my God, you interviewers can’t stop running your mouths, huh? I already answered your question, now please, go and annoy someone else.” Hailey walks away, with a confused look on her face, as Mizo turns his attention back to the door. He considers knocking, but quickly changes his mind. “I’m really tired right now, I’ll just talk to him another time.” He says, before walking back to his locker room, as the camera fades to black The scene opens in the next morning. The time is 7 am. Mizo is currently jogging on the sidewalk of a nearly empty street. What better way to start the day than by jogging? He’s wearing a sleeveless grey shirt, black shorts and running shoes. He has his headphones in his ears. Mizo’s suddenly interrupted by the sound of an alert from his phone. He stops, takes the headphones off and takes out his phone. It is from GCW’s website. The card for Wednesday Night Lightning has been announced. He searches for his name, but doesn’t take long to find it, as it’s already at the top. He looks at the name opposite his: Trent Johnson. Well, it looks like his request has been granted. He has been given the opportunity to even the score with Trent Johnson. Mizo knows better than to underestimate him, though. After all, Trent DID beat him before, hell, Trent was the reason Mizo was eliminated from the tournament. But hold on a minute…Boom or Bust qualifying match? What’s that supposed to mean? Well, it doesn’t matter, he needs to focus on his match for now, and ask questions later. Who knows, perhaps that ‘Boom or Bust’ thing would guarantee him a title shot in the near future… |
